Boyf riends- Library
Jeremy POV
Michael was acting weird. Not his normal geeky weird, the mysterious secrative weird.
Stop looking at me like that, there's a difference!
He didn't show up to lunch anymore and he was always hiding something every time I saw him. Now, I pride myself in knowing everything about Michael, and one thing I know is that he doesn't like to be asked questions when he's trying to keep a secret (newsflash, he's really bad at keeping secrets unless their mine).
So I tried to relax and re-read my favorite book series, The Unwanteds. But no matter how hard I tried my anxiety continued to slap me in the face with worry.
* It's a bird it's a plane, nope, it's a time skip*
The next day I sat in silence at the lunch table, finishing the fifth book of The Unwanteds. I sighed and closed the book as I read the last words, Michael hadn't shown up again today.
I needed to keep distracting myself, I couldn't let myself think or I would slip up and annoy Michael like I annoyed everyone else...
I speed walked to the library, keeping my head down to avoid eye contact and likewise internal screaming.
Rich no longer bothered me, nobody did, not after the squipcident. I was an open book to the whole school, and possibly all of human civilization. I had almost no more secrets. Almost.
Christine broke up with me after a few weeks of dating and I surprised myself at how well I took it. It felt like we were faking it the whole time, and that was even worse. If anything, I was relieved. I never wanted to force her and make her feel unhappy, not like my mom before she left.
I clenched my fists and shook my head to clear my mind. No use troubling myself with the past.
I rounded a corner and found myself in the school library, my favorite place in the whole school, or rather the only good place in the whole school. I smiled at the librarian, Miss. Sawyer, she smiled back and gave a little wave before continuing to read and sip a 7 Eleven slushie.
I walked quietly to the all too familiar bookshelf marked with the big letter M. Then I froze.
Michael.
He was holding a book and squinting through his glasses at the words.
Michael, who was dyslexic, was reading!? (A/N I know nothing of dyslexia so forgive me but basiclly Michael never told anyone but Jeremy he was dyslexic out of embarassment, not that anyone should be embarassed for having dyslexia, and just covered it up by saying he didnt like books, even if he loved stories)
I felt my cheeks warm. My one secret for seven years, I was in love with Michael. And at the same time, had absolutely no idea how to handle it.
"M-Michael?" He swung around and snapped the book shut, looking like a deer in headlights.
"Heeey Jere...!"
I studied the book in his hand. "Since when do you read The Unwanteds?" I couldn't help but notice his blush.
Michael looked down and mumbled to himself as if making a decision. He silenced and sighed heavily before looking up at me.
"I started reading them so you would like me enough to go out with me."
I stood in silence gaping at him.
Okay nevermind, I might've squealed like a complete dork but that's off topic.
Anyway, I suddenly felt an urge to press my lips against his. NO NOT LIKE KISSING ITS MORE LIKE..............um. Ah, who am I kidding, yes,I wanted to kiss my best friend. Desperately.
I felt my body moving through the air, I saw my converse walking over there, I took a shaky breath and I prepared............................
......................... And I was tasting his sushi-flavored lips. My feelings, that I had been ignoring for years, surged forward and went into the kiss. I felt a like a great weight I didn't even know was there was lifted from my chest. I felt Michael put his arms around my waist and I smiled before doing the same.
"Ahem~"
Michael and I quickly jump apart and try to look normal. By that, I mean Michael held his book upside down while looking at it way to intensely and I stared blankly at the bookshelf with my arms crossed.
Miss. Sawyer stood looking at us with a huge smile on her face. She handed me the sixth Unwanteds book before practically skipping away singing "Martha owes me twenty bucks!"
Michael gave me a nervous smile that I returned. He fake coughed "Does this mean you'll date me...?
"Well, duh," I smirked "as long as you let me read to you."
Michael looked as if thinking it over.
"Deal!"
A/N Hey guys it's ya boi. So this is my first oneshots book as well as my first BMC and DEH book so suggestions would be helpful. I don't update often but I try to squeeze some chapters into my busy schedule of soccer and school. Um, that's about all, I don't know how to end this...
Drive safely I guess! And if you don't drive then.............. um...............oooh! I know!
DON'T DIE!
