Chapter 3
We kept walking without talking. Everyone was too busy dreaming of the new clan. A warm, cozy den, and bed of your own. A leader to put your trust in. A clan that will be like a family, protecting and guarding you, if you need help. No more walking. No more seeing creepy new places. No more sore paws, or tired legs. You could sleep in all day, unless you have a job you need to do. Eating every day, and drinking whenever you please. Having new friends, and meeting new cats. Being able to rest, relax, and enjoy your life... In The Peace Clan...Peace...
We heard something move in the trees. The more we walked after the circle of trees, the more trees there were. At the moment there was lots of normal sized, not too big not too small, trees. The path we were taking was surrounded in trees. The path had short, green grass. It was getting smaller and smaller the more we walked, and soon there would be no treeless path.
Everybody looked to the trees as something moved in them. We had all paused in our tracks. I heard someone speak from behind the tall trees.
"They won't take kindly for this J" someone said. "Yeah, well, do you want me to remind you of my paw?" Another, younger voice said.
"Yeah, yeah, but I'm not going to die for your paw" the first voice said, sounding a bit older than the second one. "It was your choice to come. I'm just warning you that I don't they want us around... I'd say after they work us to death they'll kill us anyway" the younger voice said. They were both female voices, and they were a bit rougher, and deeper than a cats voice. Maybe a dog?
"Your so optimistic" the older voice said sarcastically. "You should have seen there eyes, and there sharp fangs...if I wasn't fast enough they would have surely taken my life" the younger voice said. I swallowed and tried not to move, and just concentrate on there conversion.
Snickers tail wagged angrily, and slightly moved the grass, making a quiet sound. I held my breath, and hoped they didn't hear it.
"What was that!" The younger one warned in a whisper. "Let's go!" The older one whispered. "Where?"
"I don't know! Past The Peace Clan anyways, where too close to there territory." The older one whispered. Then they ran off. "Let's go" Blackhawk quickly said. We all began to fast walk.
~~~~~
We fast walked until it was sunrise. We stopped at a large, thick tree, covered in vines that flowers growing from them, and the tree. There were squirrels and racoon's crawling around the branches, playing and eating acorns that grew from them.
They made squeaking sounds and they spoke to each other.
Finally, other life that's not killing me... And some prey to finally hunt... Though I've been a bit turned off since we saw those bodies...
The thought made me cringe. I then remembered about that day. I never really had time to think of all these strange things that had been happening. And so many things kept happening it was too much to think of. But the strangest of all the things that had been happening, was Twin Souls Malum, as Neako and Fekearo had called it. So the shadow can just TAKE over my body... How can I stop this? How do you do it? Why was it only now? Was it possible for you to learn it? Or was the shadow just born with it?
We all climbed up the tree and sat or lay down. "This will be one of the last days we will have to sleep when the suns up!" Gentle cheered.
"Yeah!" Everyone else cheered.
"I can't wait! We will have a leader and a clan to protect us!" Gentle said happily. "I'm just looking forward to sleeping in!" Better exclaimed.
"And having a big den" Snicker added.
"And having a place to call home" Backstab said now. "And having food!" Blackhawk said. "Remember, they might not let you in" I reminded Blackhawk. "I'm sure I can make it happen" Blackhawk grinned.
"I'm sure you could" I rolled my eyes.
"I could" he replied proudly.
I rolled my eyes again.
"Your starting to get StripeTail's thing" Blackhawk said, as he saw me rolling my eyes. I looked down as I heard his name. I really did miss him... If only I had never left HomeValley...-No! I never would have met all these cats. I learnt so many things since HomeValley....
But I also missed two months I could have spent with my family...
Two months we could have been enjoying each others company...
But it was my choice.
Though I never expected the world to be this way... I had never realised how much the walls of HomeValley protected us...until I had to step outside...
"Don't think I forgot about you" Wildfire grinned. I growled, but soon remembered the power of Wildfire and Fear. "We take lives, and we kill kittens. We enjoy to see others suffer. We enjoy to see others sadness, grief, and fear. We feed on fear. It's what we live for." Wildfire and Fear said together, sounding like an echo.
I appeared in a cave, where a cat and her three kittens sat, grieving over a grave. "Mama...what's going to happen to papa?" A three month old kitten asked her mother. "Will we see him soon?" Another asked. "No...we won't see papa again." The mother said, as tears ran down her face. She sounded like she had been crying all day.
"Why? What happened to papa? I miss him! Why can't I see him?" The third kitten asked sadly, as tears ran down her face, and through her short white fur. "Wildfire took him away from us. He's dead now. We won't see papa anymore." The mother said, trying to be strong for her kittens.
"Why did Wildfire do that for? I wanna see papa! I miss him...I-I just want to say goodbye" the first kitten began to cry. "I want papa" she whined.
"I know. But Wildfire likes to kill cats, and we can't stop her." She said.
"But-but mama! Tell her to stop! Where's papa!" The kittens cried.
My eyes began to fill with tears as I watched the poor family grieve for there papa. I then appeared in a tree, beside a black, white, and ginger tortoise shell cat. She had hazel eyes, and she looked about a year old. She was thin, but not unhealthy thin.
"No!! ForestKit!!" She called, as tears began to built up in her blue eyes.
I looked down to see a cat almost identical to the tortoise shell cat in the tree, she was just slightly bigger, and bulkier, and her eyes were bright green. There was two pitch black cats circling her. "Help! JungleCat!" The green eyed cat yelped. "Leave her alone!" The blue eyed cat, JungleCat hissed. Her tail was stuck tight in the branches. "Stay b-b-b-back!" ForestKit stuttered to the two black cats that began to close in on her.
"P-p-p-p-please!" She pleaded.
"M-m-m-make me!" One cat mimicked ForestKit. The two black cats laughed.
"Stop! Don't hurt her!" JungleCat hissed. "Let's take one each, sister." One black cat said. They were going to kill them. One black cat ran up the tree. Her teal eyes were unmistakable. And those two scars on her face, over her black fur, was unmistakable. It was Fear. She clawed JungleCat. JungleCat was stuck, and screamed in pain, blood spraying from the scratches Fear made. JungleCat almost had no flesh left on her torn apart body.
She had died in a pool of blood.
I looked down as Fear joined her sister Wildfire, beside ForestKit, who had chunks of flesh scattered on the soil, and she lay unconscious. Dead.
The sisters laughed. "Who's next. They were too easy." Wildfire said.
Fear nodded in agreement to her sister. I appeared in the snow, as a white fluffy kitten, maybe two months old, lay shivering, freezing in the cold, half buried in snow. You could barely see in front of you. "Mama!" The kitten called through the blizzard.
"I don't understand! Why did Wildfire take you away from me! You didn't do anything! I miss you!" She cried, her tears freezing on her face from the cold. I appeared next to a brown and black tabby cat. We stood at the top of a cliff, above the ocean.
"I can't take it mama...papa... I won't let Wildfire kill me! Not like they did to to you! I won't let them get the satisfaction!" The kitten, who looked about six months old, yelled through the strong winds. The kitten jumped from the cliff, and splattered down on the rocks below. Lifeless. These are some of Wildfire's victims.
Now I appeared in front of a grave made of leaves. "Wildfire killed her" a female voice sobbed. Then I appeared in front of a stone grave.
"Wildfire took them from us" a males voice whimpered.
A snow grave.
"Wildfire took mama from me"
A dead leaf grave.
"Wildfire and Fear murdered them"
Another stone grave.
"Wildfire killed him"
A grey she-cats body, lay on the floor.
"Wildfire, shekilled my sister"
A soil grave.
"Wildfire murdered my only friend"
Grass and dirt grave.
"Wildfire and her sister killed my kit"
Wood grave.
"Wildfire has kill all four of my brothers... Now it's just me. When will this end? When will SHE end...?"
Another soil grave, with flowers thrown gently on top, and the sunrise just on the horizon. Three for female and one male voice could be heard grieving at this unknown grave... The question was, who was inside?
