Chapter 1

The yellow eyed shadow stood before me. I backed away, but it tackled me.
This one cat was the cause of thousands of cats deaths...how was this possible...? There must be more...or maybe...maybe the shadow is just that strong...?

The shadow jumped at me, and bit my left front paw, before snapping it to the side. A loud *SNAP* filled the air. I hissed in pain, and my other front paw, instinctively was thrown at the shadow. My needle like claws were out. I felt them smack through flesh. But that just made the shadow madder. It tackled me and pinned me down. It scratched at me repeatedly. My skin stung in pain, as warm blood soaked my dark fur. I meowed in pain, but I was unable to fight back. It had me pinned down good. Finally I bit its face, and caused it to pull back. I was quickly freed from its grasp. I weakly rolled to the side, in an attempt to escape. I couldn't run, or even walk away. My body throbbed in horrible pain. I kept rolling away, feeling the sharp sticks and grass stab my cut flesh. I didn't stop rolling though. But I didn't get far. The shadow jumped in front of me quickly, before smacking me in the head hard. My head flew back and hit against a rock. My vision began to dim, and my consciousness began to leave me. No, if I pass out, The Shadow will kill me, for sure!
But my eyes began to close. And last thing I saw, was two yellow eyes, looking down at me evilly.
Who will save me now? Will my life really end this way? Being hung by my skeleton, on my way to The Peace Clan, just like all these other cats? Never to be buried...never to be visited...just one of the many bodies that will hang, and cause travelers to comment on the smell of my roting flesh...? Is this how it will be...? So soon... I wished I could have lived...just...a bit longer... Just a bit... But than..nothing ever goes your way in life...ever...

To my joy and surprise, I saw something. I was dreaming! I can't dream while I'm dead, so I must still be alive! But how? Maybe I'm just not dead yet...

Neako walked to me, with Fekearo on his back. "I'm glad to see you alive... For now..." Fekearo said, in an echoed voice. "I have so many questions!" I said desperately. "Who are you?" I began. "He is your father" Fekearo lifted a wing to point at Neako.
"What does that mean?" I asked.
"I am your father" Neako repeated.
I sighed. "Okay, well, who is the voice is my head? And why did it say "just how I killed your father, and his?" I asked.
"Because, they killed them" Neako said.
I sighed in annoyance. I wasn't getting proper answers. "Okay, well back there, I felt like the voice in my head, who I'd guess is the shadow, was almost... Controlling me...kind of how we were sharing the same bodies in the other dreams" I said to Neako.
"It is called Twin Souls. Where you are able to share another's body. Only few can still do that." Neako replied.
That was a proper answer!
"When you done it, and when the shadow done it, was it the same thing?" I asked.
"I done Twin Souls Pura, which is when two souls share the body. It done Twin Souls Malum, which is when you control, and take over someone's body." Neako answered.
"What's Malum and Pura?" I asked curiously. "Evil and pure" Fekearo replied. "I'm not sure who you are, but you seem to want to help. I don't even know if you are alive, or ever were alive, but I know you are helping" I smiled. Fekearo flew off Neako's back, and landed in front of me.

"Think about every small detail of every part of your life, and you will find answers, and questions, some of which can and some of which cannot be answered. But your father's, even the ones who have passed, can help you, your brothers, and your sisters"
Fekearo said. Neako and Fekearo began to vanish, and I thought hard about what Fekearo had said.

I woke up, my body throbbing in pain. I opened my eyes weakly.
I looked around, before seeing a yellow eyed cat looking down at me. I gasped and tried to quickly move, but my body was suddenly hit with more pain as I moved. I groaned, and looked at the cat. It was Vamp. I was in a tree top, and it was still dark. Maybe it would be sunrise in about four hours, give or take a few hours. It was hard to tell. Stars covered the sky, and the moon shone dimly in the dark blue sky. Vamp blinked at me.
I was on edge, but I felt more comfortable to know it wasn't the shadow. Or was it?
"I'm surprised you made it" Vamp said as he looked me up and down.
"What do you care? I growled. But as my muscles tensed, my body began to hurt more again. " your strong for a kitten. Runs in the family." Vamp said.
I growled again, but I tried not to tense. "How do you know my family?"
Vamp sighed. "I know more than a regular cat" he replied. "And your an irregular cat?" I snorted.
"One of the many..." Vamp replied.
Whoever he is, shadow or not, I don't like him...

"Whoever you are, stop following me!" I growled. "You would have died twice if it won't for me. Just because we have nine lives, it doesn't mean we want to waste them." Vamp said. It sounded like someone would say that as a joke, but his face remained blank.
"Why do you keep helping us?" I asked. "I know who you are, and we need you safe" Vamp replied.
"We? Who do you work for?" I growled. "Nobody. I work for myself" he replied. "Well why do you need me safe? What am I to you?" I growled.
Vamp was silent as he concentrated on something. "How do you know who I am? And who do you think I am?" I asked. "I know something important about you. I know you know about things most cats don't know of, and you are things most cats aren't, though you don't know it yet." Vamp said, looking at me.
"And what's that?" I growled.
"You know of Neako and Fekearo, two animals that died over a millennium ago." Vamp said. I was shocked as I heard that. "How do you know that?!" I quickly asked. "Your not the only one who dreams" Vamp said, before I heard my name. "BlueWhiskers!" Gentle called from not far away.
I quickly tried to get up, but the pain in my body made me fall back down.
"The blood tracks lead to that tree. She must have somehow climbed, even with those injuries." I heard Ra say from next to the tree I lay in.
"When I find that shadow, oh, how he's going to wish he was never born!" Blackhawk barked.
"Up there!" Backstab meowed.
"Hey! Get away from her! Come down so I can fight you!" Blackhawk barked. Vamp began to walk away.
"Coward!" Blackhawk barked again.
"Wait, I have questions!" I quickly said to Vamp. Vamp continued walking away, then began jumping from tree to tree. "Wait!" I called.
I lay my head back and sighed.
What on earth is happening?! How does he know! Who is he!

"We're coming BlueWhiskers, just stay put!" Blackhawk yelled up.
I sighed. I was happy to hear they were okay, and happy to know they had found me, but I still had unanswered questions.

They finally got onto the branch I lay on. Better gasped as she saw me.
"What happened to you?!"
I shrugged slightly. My body was numb at the moment, so I wasn't in that much pain. "The Shadow is stronger than I thought" I said.
"Was that the Shadow in the tree with you?" Gentle asked. "No. It was Vamp" I said. "Next time I see him!" Blackhawk warned. I didn't want to say it wasn't him. I really wasn't in the mood for arguing. Plus I didn't know for sure myself anyways.

I sat next to the tree I had been in. I had finally gotten down. It was almost sunrise. I could see a bit of light in the far distance. "You've been injured really bad..." Snicker pointed out.
"I'd know best out of anyone.." I replied. "Does it feel too bad?" Gentle asked. I looked at her, like 'seriously?'
She shrugged. "You don't seem to be in too much pain" she explained.
"I'm too numb to feel the pain, but I will make it nice and easy for you. It's one of the worst pains I have ever felt in my life." I said. "I can't even find the injuries" Gentle shrugged.
"My left front paw is snapped to the side, my head has a horrible bang in it. It's probably swelled double the size, but you can't see it through my long fur. And the rest is just terribly painful cuts." I said. Gentle blinked at me. "Maybe we should find some water to wash you in, before your prominently stained red." Backstab suggested. "I don't think there is any water around here... Maybe we should just keep walking to The Peace Clan, and if we come across water, we can stop off" I suggested. "Okay" Backstab shrugged. "Than let's get moving, before anyone else decides to attack us" Ra said. "Good idea. And besides, I can't wait to be able to breathe fresh air." Gentle said.
"I think we've adapted to this smell, if we go near fresh air, it could kill us from too much cleanliness." Backstab said. Everyone looked at him.
"What?" He shrugged. I sighed. "Let's get going"
