Chapter 9

Narrator's Point of View

It was eight years ago, around the time which Adrien's mother, Emilie Agreste, disappeared.

The reasons were unknown as to why she had disappeared but it was assumed she had died.

The only suspect, in this case, was an old woman called Tomoe Tsurugi.

Of course, it was said that it couldn't be possible as the woman was blind.

Gabriel Agreste, however, was convinced that Tomoe was the reason for Emilie's disappearance and possible death.

He believed that she was still alive and that Tomoe was simply jealous of all of his wealth.

He also believed that the only way to accept his wife's disappearance was to get even.

Kagami Tsurugi was a seven-year-old girl who was everything a parent ever wanted.

Well-behaved, well-mannered, she did excellent at school, excelled in her extracurricular activities like fencing.

She was the daughter every parent wanted.

As much as Tomoe was strict with the little girl, she loved her very much and Kagami knew that.

Every time Gabriel saw Tomoe and Kagami together, he felt rage as he believed that it should have been Adrien and Emilie before him.

Of course, Adrien wasn't taking the disappearance of his mother too well, the eight-year-old boy cried every night, not knowing where his mother is as his father grew distant.

Over time, Adrien accepted his mother's disappearance but he felt like he lost his father too.

Gabriel may have grieved, have felt anger and vengeful, he overlooked his son's grieve.

One a faithful day, Kagami's driver was sick and couldn't drive the girl to a fencing tournament, Gabriel took this opportunity for his revenge.

He offered Tomoe to have his driver drive Kagami to the tournament.

Before the man, however, drive Kagami to the tournament, Gabriel had the man drugged.

As he expected it, there was a car accident.

The driver was instantly killed while Kagami was seriously injured.

Tomoe was there for her daughter until the very end, as Kagami had a painful death.

Something snapped in the blind woman that day as she knew that Gabriel was the cause of Kagami's death, she was blinded by revenge.

The grief of Kagami's death was too much for her to handle as she died a while after.

Yet, death wasn't going to prevent her from getting her revenge.

Even if she had to get her revenge as Scarlett Moth...

Now time skip to six years after that event, a young teen we know as Alya Cesairé, was visiting the school late at night as she finally found her scoop for her new blog.

As she was investigating around, Scarlett Moth was studying this young girl, smirking.

She was preparing herself to get her revenge against Gabriel Agreste.

Of course, Alya would be no use to her as she wasn't dead nor could communicate with ghosts, yet Scarlett Moth knew she would be useful later on.

Alya was obviously very sneaky and well-hidden in the shadows.

Unbeknownst to the girl, there was both a bloodthirsty poltergeist and two drunk teenagers near her.

Not a good combination in this case.

So, she was basically led to her death, Scarlett Mouth made sure that Alya would find herself face to face to the drunkards.

She did and both the drunk teens had beaten her to death.

★★★

Now, present-day, Scarlett Moth was now lurking in the shadows, prepared to have her plan executed...
