Wakanda
Once their private jet landed in Wakanda, Klaus carefully picked up his Little Flower who was starting to regain consciousness and carried her off the jet. Bucky, and Elijah following close behind. Klaus could feel Lily tensing from the pain her body has been in constantly. Her ragged breathing could be felt on his neck, "Hold on, my little flower."
A few feet ahead of the small group was Shuri waiting with a levitating gurney. She had a jet injector sedative in her hand out of sight. Shuri gestured for Klaus to lay Lily down then quickly injected her with the sedative. Before Klaus could react violently, Shuri told him, "It's a mild sedative." She turned to her waiting guards, "Let's head to the lab." Klaus watched as Lily fell back to sleep before following Shuri.
They enter Shuri's lab and watch as Shuri barks orders to those assisting her to treat Lily. Shuri turned to speak with the others, "Is there anything else I should know?" Bucky looked to Klaus before speaking, he didn't want to overstep but this was for Lily. "What do you know about Lily besides what you have been told?" Shuri responds, "Held captive and thrown into the Widow program in the Red Room, then shipped off to Hydra before she escaped. Nothing can be found before the Red Room."
Bucky looks at Klaus hoping the Original Hybrid would fill Shuri in. Klaus sighs, "Lily is one of two Tribrids. Part witch, werewolf, and vampire. She activated her werewolf curse when she was in the Red Room but not her vampire. Unlike her sister Hope, Lily can't control the shift. Every full moon, Lily has to be secured for the night." Shuri turns to the team prepping Lily in thought before facing Klaus, "From what I remember, werewolves heal fairly quickly. Why hasn't she healed?" The three were surprised she knew of the supernatural. Shuri lightly laughed, "Wakanda may be shielded from the outside world, but we are not blind to that which goes bump in the night."
The three men take seats in the lab as close to Lily as they can get without being in the way. Shuri had her tablet in her hand while Lily was being scanned. Lily had something similar hooked up to her head that connected to Shuri's tablet. Everyone watched from a monitor as Lily's body relaxed when her pain receptors were adjusted to react normally and not in overdrive. Then Shuri set down her tablet to inspect Lily's left arm.
Bucky got closer to the bed, "What's going to happen now?" Shuri smiled at his concern and curiosity, "I'm going to remove her arm and construct a better one that can shift with her. It would be highly uncomfortable if this arm stayed human while she is a wolf." Klaus and Elijah listened to everything and couldn't help but agree. Klaus voiced it so, "That would be best. Although, I still don't understand why she still shifts. Hope is able to control it after the first time." Bucky shrugged, "Maybe it's from all the experimenting."
Elijah put his phone back in his pocket and stood by his brother, "I was just informed that a team of highly trained individuals tried to overtake the compound. Marcel informed me Finn went berserker on several armed men while Kol slaughtered several others. Marcel kept one alive to question. He learned these men were already in the city." "Bloody Hell. How did we not notice?" Klaus became angry. "Marcel asked how they went unnoticed. It appears when Hayley met with the Red Room agents, she disclosed more about our family than anything pertaining to Lily. She essentially sold us out," Elijah may seem calm but his former lover's betrayal boiled his blood.
Bucky was just as pissed, "Did Marcel find out about any more Hydra bases?" Elijah stuffed his hands in his suit pants pockets, "Not as yet. Kol had sent several vampires to scout locations of older Hydra bases. He thinks Hydra would backtrack to a location that is thought to be abandoned to recoup." Bucky nods, "Sounds like them. The base in Sokovia has been established twice already. Wouldn't surprise me if they went back there." Elijah pulled his phone out of his pocket and texted Marcel of what Bucky just told him.
Klaus really wasn't trying to hover, but he was fascinated by Shuri and her technology. She had Lily's Vibranium arm on a surgical table and was reconfiguring it. She kept looking over her shoulder at the Hybrid, "Fascinating, isn't it?" Klaus smirked, "It is, love. How far technology has come." He continued to watch Shuri work on his daughter's arm, and he couldn't help but sigh in guilt. "All this time I thought my little flower was dead only for her to be suffering unimaginable pain. I feel like I failed her for not listening to my instincts to search for her. Instead, I mourned alongside the traitorous wench that is her mother."
Shuri put her tablet down and focused on Klaus, "She is here now. And from what I understand, you lot are immortal so there is plenty of time to make it up to her. Lily is a strong, confident, young woman. She has survived things most would not." Klaus questioned, "As in?" Shuri brought up Lily's scans showing various tests. Shuri pointed out, "These are the results of several blood tests. I've compared the results to that of Steve Rogers before and after he was injected with the super soldier serum and found the levels to be much higher in Lily. She essentially is stronger than the first super soldier. That's not even counting her supernatural abilities."
Klaus looked over the results and couldn't keep the smile off his face. Shuri continued, "If it wasn't for her pain receptors firing constantly, she would have healed in mere minutes after waking from her latest modification." Shuri turned to pick up Lily's newly configured arm, "Speaking of, she should be waking momentarily." Shuri carefully reattached the Vibranium arm then scanned it to make sure the connections were aligned.
Lily was comfortable. She didn't want to wake but she could hear familiar voices surrounding her. Her father was threatening her husband if Bucky didn't move out of his way. Klaus wanted to be the first-person Lily saw when she opened her eyes. She couldn't hold in the laugh, "You guys are not as quiet as you think." Lily opened her eyes to Bucky and her father standing toe-to-toe next to the head of her bed. The two men glared at each other before Bucky faced his wife, "Hey Doll. How're you feeling?" Lily slowly sat up; she noticed her left arm felt different. Once she was sitting up, she looked at her left arm, flexing her fingers, clenching and unclenching her fist. "Feels off. Like there's a delay," Lily looked up to Bucky and her father.
Bucky understood what she meant, "Shuri made some adjustments, but you still need to calibrate it on your end." Lily threw her legs over the side of the bed to stand but her father stopped her, "You should be resting, Little Flower." Lily smiled at her dad, it was a genuine smile, "I'm alright. A little sore but much better than what I was." Klaus nodded reluctantly and sighed before letting her stand. She looked to Bucky so he could help her, "You need to focus on your arm. Picture it as gears that need to be locked in place and swing your arm at the shoulder. You should feel it lock in place."
Lily stood away from them, she didn't want to accidentally smack anyone. Cleared her mind and focused on her left shoulder. Using Bucky's example of cogs and gears needing to be set in place, she could see they were out of alignment. With that in mind, Lily swung her left arm harshly. There was an audible whirring sound followed by a click. Lily looked at her left hand and smiled, "Oh, much better." All three men chuckled at her. Shuri had left the lab momentarily but soon came back in with her brother following behind her.
Shuri wanted to show T'Challa some modifications on his Black Panther suit. She had created a Gold tooth necklace using Vibranium laced Nanites that would spill out and form his Black Panther suit. "The entire suit within the teeth of the necklace. Strike it," Shuri tells T'Challa. He asked, "Anywhere?" Shuri nods. T'Challa spin kicks the mannequin equipped with the suit really hard. The mannequin is thrown into the wall a few feet from them. Shuri scolds her brother as she goes to pick it up, "Not that hard, Genius!" T'Challa shrugs, "You said strike it, you didn't say how hard."
All the while, Klaus and Elijah are watching the scene unfold. Bucky is helping Lily with her new arm. Klaus moves closer to still far enough to be out of the way. Shuri puts the mannequin back in its place, "I invite you to my lab, and you think you can just kick things around." "Well, maybe you should make it a little stronger, eh?" T'Challa shrugs then he notices the suit glowing Indigo where his foot made contact, "Wait a minute." Shuri explains, "The Nanites absorb the kinetic energy and hold it in place for redistribution." Klaus smiles slyly when he realizes what might happen next.
Shuri stands back from T'Challa and sets her Kimoyo to record, "Now strike it again, in the same spot." Klaus and T'Challa see her recording, T'Challa is suspicious, "You're recording?" Shuri keeps a straight face and shrugs, "For research purposes..." T'Challa spin kicks the mannequin once again, only this time the force of the impact throws T'Challa backwards into a table of Shuri's tech and gadgets. He could hear his sister's laughter joined by Klaus. T'Challa stands on shaky legs and points at his sister's Kimoyo, "Delete that footage." The siblings continue to bicker as Klaus joins, Elijah, his daughter, and Bucky.
After a battery of tests, Lily is released from the lab in time for the group to join Shuri and T'Challa for dinner. Shuri had suggested the Barnes couple stay in Wakanda to train their bodies as well as their minds to scrub the trigger words out of their minds without damaging their personality. Klaus was unsure about this. He did not want to leave his daughter, not so soon after finding her again. Elijah could see Klaus was moments away from grabbing his daughter and heading to their awaiting private jet.
Elijah held Klaus in his seat as he spoke to Shuri, "Before my brother does something rash, what guarantee do we have that Lily will remain safe? You have to understand, for fifteen years we had thought she was lost to us. Only to find out someone we trusted had sold her off like livestock and faked her death. Fifteen years. We do not want to lose any more time than we already have."
Lily spoke up from her place on the other side of her father, "Dad. Let me do this. It would be safer for all of us if those trigger words were gone. When me or Bucky are under the influence of those phrases, we are indiscriminate killing machines. It doesn't matter who gets in our way; man, woman, child. As long as we complete the mission. The last one I went on before running, I had slaughtered an entire apartment building...Every resident."
Lily didn't realize she was crying until her father wiped away her tears. Bucky held his wife's other hand under the table in hopes to comfort her as well. Klaus held his daughter and sighed. He knew she was right; he just didn't want to lose her again. "Alright, but you contact me at least once or twice a day." Lily shook her, "Every few days. I know you're going to be busy hunting." She didn't have to clarify what she meant. Both Elijah and Klaus were planning on joining the hunt to eliminate Hydra and the Red Room.
The next morning, Shuri and the Dora guided Bucky, Lily, Elijah, and Klaus out to the hut where the Barnes couple was to reside. The married couple would venture to the lab every other day for testing and training. They were to live as simply as possible to help clear their minds. The days they are in the lab is when Lily would contact her father and other family members. Klaus was still unsure about leaving his daughter, but Elijah and Lily kept telling him that she would be safe. Finally, the Originals left with Shuri. She walked alongside Klaus, "Your daughter will be well taken care of, I assure you. You are welcome to visit anytime."
Klaus hummed and nodded his head, "Thank you, Shuri. From what I can see, Wakanda does not tolerate outsiders. And yet, you're housing my daughter and her husband while helping them overcome many things that I, myself, could not help with. A thousand years on this earth and I am learning there are some things I cannot do." "Being alive that long I am shocked our people have not heard of you," Shuri says. Klaus smirked, "Oh, I don't know. I seem to recall my younger brother Kol living amongst various tribes throughout the centuries. Who's to say he didn't come across the people of Wakanda?" Shuri hummed, "I see if there's anything in our archives. For now, though, I will concentrate on helping your daughter and her husband."
They had approached the Originals private jet. Elijah had boarded to speak with the crew and made sure they were ready to depart. Klaus and Shuri stood at the bottom of the stairs of the jet. Shuri was trying to not blush as she said, "It was a pleasure meeting you, Niklaus Mikaelson. Again, you are welcome to visit anytime." Klaus took her hand and kissed her knuckles, "The pleasure was all mine, Shuri." He smiled as he boarded the jet and watched Shuri as she walked to stand next to her brother. The jet took off and flew low over the huts where Lily and Bucky were. Klaus and Elijah looked out the window to see Bucky and Lily waving at their jet. Klaus hopes he made the right decision leaving his daughter, his little flower, in the care of the people of Wakanda.
