Altered Again

The final door, the last memory they will witness. This door seemed like it was blank. It was like it had no design, no color, nothing. It was just there. Only a plain brass doorknob on the left side. Klaus and Hope were in the front of the group with Hope on the left. She was the one to open the door, "Here we go."

They were back in Avenger's Tower, inside Lily's and Bucky's shared quarters. They watched as the couple were arranging an assortment of notebooks, gadgets, and a few articles of clothing into their bags. Lily and Bucky were gearing up to search for someone to help with their trigger phrases. Both of them knew they wouldn't be completely free from Hydra until their alternate personas could not be triggered.

Everyone plus Bucky had noticed Lily stopped packing. She stood frozen, lost in thought. "Lily?" Bucky approached his wife, gently grasping her elbow to gain her attention. Lily snapped her head in Bucky's direction, "What if they don't recognize me? Or what if they do and they make me leave?" She didn't realize she was crying until Bucky wiped away a tear with his thumb. "Doll, it's been fifteen years since they have seen you. If they are your family, they'll know it's you even if it's been thirty years. And if they make you leave, then they're not worth the tears," Bucky reassured his wife.

The family didn't comment on what they saw. They knew the moment Lily was within their grasp, they will not be letting go. The Mikaelsons may have a reputation of being vicious monsters, however, to each other it is not the case. Not entirely. There are sometimes when they fight amongst themselves but that's what families do. Knowing they will be doing their best to locate the missing Mikaelson, Hope had made sure the bedroom next to hers was cleaned and ready for Lily before joining her family that morning to finish watching the memories. The room was designated as Lily's when the twins were supposed to come home.

The scene changed to the couple entering JFK airport to catch their flight overseas to start their journey. Bucky kept his eyes on Lily the whole time going through security. She seemed to still be out of it. Bucky stopped her before they reached their gate, "Hey? Would you rather just head to your family's place now?" Lily thought about it but shook her head, "No, I don't want to risk it. I know I can't hurt them, it's just not a risk I'm willing to take. Same with you. I know you'd rather not risk Winter making an appearance at the wrong time." Bucky sighed and nodded. They continued to their gate.

Freya leaned closer to Davina, "Is there a spell that can erase the trigger phrases?" Davina shrugged her shoulders, "I have no idea. They seem like a form of hypnotism during the brainwashing. Probably why the phrases trigger their reaction even with their memories wiped." Kol butted in, "Wouldn't hurt to look into it?"

Approaching the area where their gate was located, Bucky, Lily, and everyone noticed the airport seemed even more crowded. Bucky grabbed Lily's free hand so they wouldn't be split up. They felt this was highly unusual for one part of a terminal to have this many people in it. They both weave through the crowd to get to their gate, "Bucky, it's like the whole airport is in this one terminal." Bucky kept pulling her through the crowd, "I know."

Bucky and Lily broke through the bigger portion of the crowd as they reached their gate, taking a seat near the windows. Bucky turns to Lily to ask how she was doing when he caught sight of someone suspicious. The man was dressed in all black holding a duffle bag, looking around the terminal as if he was trying to find something or someone particular. It wouldn't seem that suspicious until it was noticed that the guy stopped searching when he spotted Bucky and Lily. The man tried to act casual as he came closer to the couple but Bucky caught on.

Whispering quietly to his wife, not letting his lips move, "Something's up?" Lily panned the room with just her eyes and saw the man Bucky was talking about. "He seems out of place, and really nervous," Lily whispered back. The couple started to fiddle with their bags while keeping an eye on the guy. He had started doing the same to his duffle, making it like he was going through it but he was actually triggering the bomb to blow as a distraction. He was sent to distract the couple while a Hydra team recaptures them.

"We need to leave," Lily could hear the timer ticking down from inside the duffle bag. Bucky nods his head and stands. Before Lily could get out of her seat, the bomb goes off. Those who were in its immediate vicinity were killed, several have been injured, the large windows on each side of the terminal have violently shattered, dust and debris everywhere. Even the Mikaelsons were coughing from the dust, waving their arms to clear the dust away from their faces.

Lily had been thrown into the row of seats behind her, while Bucky was thrown out one of the shattered windows onto the tarmac below. Lily slowly stood up, her equilibrium was off from the ringing in her ears, they were also bleeding. The blast had blown out her eardrums. She was a little disorientated and could feel her body becoming sore from being tossed. Lily looked around but couldn't find Bucky. She called out for him, "Bucky?!" She was going to call out again when she was hit really hard in the back of the head, the scene went black.

The Mikaelsons were shifted to a new scene, they were now in a lab of some sort. They could see Lily was strapped to a surgical table still unconscious. She was surrounded by several trays of surgical instruments and machinery. Kol was standing on the outer end of the group, closest to one of the other tables in the room. He could see a sealed metal box that was locked by a keypad. A few of the people in the room were going over some documents explaining what was in the box but he couldn't make out the words. Kol turned his attention back to his niece, who was starting to wake up.

Lily woke up and realized she had been captured by Hydra. One of the guards in the room approached the table to check her restraints but Lily had snapped the flimsy chain and grabbed the nearest thing. Lily grasped the handle of a bone saw and swung at the guard, slitting his throat then breaking her other restraints. She jumped off the table and was surrounded by guards and doctors.

One of the guards shot his taser gun at Lily. Instead of going down, she pulled the prongs out of her chest and threw them back at the guard. She did this while several thousand volts were shot through her body. She felt a sting in the side of her neck. Reaching up she pulled a tranquilizer dart out and started to run before the sedative had a chance to kick in. Lily didn't waste any more time as she punched and kicked her way towards the door, taking down several Hydra personnel.  She was almost to the door when she was shot with two more tranquilizer darts. Everyone could see she was fighting to keep going but the sedative was kicking in to the point she could no longer stay awake.

"Blue Wolf awakens," A heavily accented man says. He could see Lily waking up, "The dosage of sedatives you were shot with would take down a full-grown elephant, but your body burnt through them in 20 minutes. No matter. We have you right where we want you." The man stepped away from the table to prep himself and his team for the procedure. They were going to modify her then wipe her memory.

The Mikaelsons watched as Lily struggled against her restraints which was harder this time since her left arm was extended at her side. The only noise in the room was some quiet chatter and Lily's struggling. Then a sound some recognized was heard. It sounded like a small buzzsaw when actually it was an electric bone saw. Lily struggles even harder, "No! Stop! I'll stay! Stop!"

The man was right next to Lily, the bone saw inching closer to her left arm, "No matter how far you run, we will find you." He gave a wicked smile before moving the saw closer to Lily's arm. Her screaming became louder, as he started amputating her left arm. The memory ended with the sounds of Lily screaming and her blood spraying herself and the doctors close to her.

What the Mikaelsons didn't see was that the amputation then reattachment of a Vibranium arm took several hours. During which time Bucky had contacted Stark to track down his wife. Tony had found the footage of a crew leaving the airport carrying an unconscious Lily and getting into a typical blank white van. Not very convert if you asked Stark. The van was tracked to an abandoned portion of a naval base in Pensacola, Florida.

The final portion of the procedure was testing the connection of the nerves, making sure the new appendage can feel pain, heat, and cold. Lily had woken up several times during the procedure, they had just renewed the sedatives when the alarms went off and the lab door was busted open. Once Bucky had reached the med-lab and broke in, he saw his wife and snapped, and let Winter take over.

Back at the Abbatoir, the Mikaelsons were fuming as well as sick to their stomachs. Klaus broke the heavy silence, "Freya, find my daughter." She didn't say anything, just nodded her head. Davina, Hope, and Kol got everything they needed for a locator spell. After they had viewed Lily's memories, Hope's head didn't feel like it was going to explode, so she was able to help with the spell. A few moments later Freya finds Lily, "I found her. She's...She's just inside the city and heading towards the French Quarter." Marcel, Klaus, and Elijah looked at the map of the city and watched the blood trail stop near the compound. The three of them head toward Lily's location ready to fight whoever has her.
