Heaven knows, Back to you & Good life

Kailua knew, reasonably, Toruk Makto and his mate would want to know what happened. It took them a little longer than she thought, but lo and behold, shortly after she herself had woken, they were outside the hut, demanding to speak with her. Or rather; Neytiri was demanding. Kailua felt better than she had done before, but her usual self, so she ambled out slowly, wincing slightly at the bright light of the beautiful sun.

"What happened with our sons? You were supposed to be watching them," Neytiri hissed in lieu of a normal greeting. Kailua faked confusion. "I'm sorry?" She caught Toruk Makto's eye over Neytiri's shoulder. "As I explained, though I'm not 100% if you heard it, I was out swimming, and I came across their unconscious bodies." Neytiri huffed. "And you expect me to believe they were out there, far enough to be spotted by you?" She hissed lowly. Kailua displayed her hands, palms up. "I don't know. I was swimming, looking for food to hunt. I don't know why there were out that far. I just found them."

Neytiri continued to glare, so Kailua decided to sell it. "Eywa damn me for saving them. I won't bother next time then," She muttered and turned to leave. A five fingered hand grabbed her shoulder, spinning her around. "I apologise for my mate." Toruk Makto said pointedly. Kailua glanced at his hand on her shoulder. He dwarfed her, easily. His palm alone covers her shoulder, never mind his fingers on top. "We thank you... for saving our boys. They... act before they think, sometimes. Perhaps it is a case as simple as that,"

Kailua nodded with a smile, thankful they bought her story. "It was no problem. I would help anybody in danger," Neytiri kept her sharp eyes focused on Kailua, setting her a little on edge. She bounced on the balls of her feet, flashing an awkward smile. "If..uh... if you don't mind... I uh... I need to get going. Have to help Reya,"

She was busy gathering some seagrass for Tsireya when her annoying older brother's voice ruined her morning. "Are you some kind of... freak?" He taunted. Kailua sighed softly. She abandoned her task and walked over, dreading whatever her brother had done. "You're not even true na'vi," She finally caught sight of Ao'nung. She jogged over, stepping in between herself and the Omatikayan girl. "Sister, move. We do not want to be near this freak. Or her four fingers and toes." He shivered. Kailua shielded Kiri from her brother's blows as if they were physical. "Leave her be, Ao'nung," She warned.

It was obvious Kiri had a connection to Eywa as well, much like Kailua. Perhaps not as strong, but maybe she was stronger in the forest. Kailua wouldn't have her abilities at all in the forest; there was no sea for her to manipulate. The fact that Ao'nung knew of Kailua's abilities, and quite possibly knew of Kiri's (or at least suspected), and still chose to bully her for them hurt Kailua too: if Kiri was a freak, and they shared the same gift, does that make her a freak by extension?

"Whose side are you on?" Iansxi, Ao'nung's friend, spat. Kailua narrowed her eyes. "I said leave her be, I won't ask again," Iansxi grabbed Kailua's wrist painfully. "Iansxi," Ao'nung said lowly as she flicked his hand off with a dangerous hiss. "Hey!" A new voice barked. Kailua turned with a cringe. "Back off fish lips," Lo'ak sneered as he approached. Kailua watched as his eyes briefly flicked over Kiri before snapping to her brother.

She wished Ao'nung was protective of her like the Sully siblings seemed to be to each other. All he ever did was let her be harassed and bullied by his friends, only stepping in when she was about to smack them into the past or cry. And even then it was; "Just leave it guys. Let's go do something fun,"

Never: "Leave my sister alone," or "Are you ok, Lua?" No. Nothing.

"Oh, another four fingered freak!" He taunted. Kailua bit her lip harshly. Whilst she could contain her temper, she had the distinct feeling that the youngest Sully boy didn't/couldn't. She watched from the side, still standing in front of Kiri, as they challenged each other. "Look at his little baby tail!" Rotxo jeered, grabbing the very thin tail in his hands. Kailua whistled. "Leave them alone!" She shouted at the same Kiri shouted, "Leave us alone!"

She stormed over, snatching Rotxo's arm away from Lo'ak with a glare. Rotxo's eyes flicked away as he moved to join Ao'nung. She shoved her brother in the chest. "Stop it, now. You're bringing shame to the family," She hissed. "What would father do if he saw you now? Picking on the newbies? Let alone Uturu seekers," Ao'nung glared down at her, placing a hand on her shoulder. "The only things bringing shame anywhere, is them." He shoved her, hard.

Kailua hit the ground with a grunt.

From there it just kind of... spiralled. Neteyam turned up, briefly defusing the fight between the siblings and his brother. All was well until Ao'nung made a final dig. Kailua stayed seated the whole time, too embarrassed and enraged to do anything but. If she stood, she'd kill him. She needed to bring her temper down.

Then Lo'ak punched her brother. Not once, not twice, but three times. Kailua felt a sense of satisfaction run through her veins. She accepted the extended hand he held, pulling herself up. His five fingered hand was warm, unlike her usually cold ones. It seemed to fit hers perfectly. She looked away before he could see the blush on her cheeks.

Ao'nung finally got up, hissing. He dove at Lo'ak's middle, Rotxo and Iansxi following suit. Kailua grabbed Iansxi's tail and began hauling him off. He hissed and swung at her, claws out. Kailua hissed loudly, baring her teeth. Iansxi hissed back, swiping at her middle. She felt his nails scratch her stomach, and in retaliation, she bit his shoulder.

Ao'nung and Lo'ak continued to punch each other, rolling around on the sand. Neteyam decided to jump into the fray and took Rotxo on, both hissing and punching each other.

Kailua grabbed Iansxi's ear in her grip, pinching tightly. He growled, thrashing. "Stop," She hissed in his face. He hissed, so she pinched tighter. He cried out. "Ow! Ok, ok!" She pinched extra hard for good measure, finally letting him go. He scrambled away, clutching his ear tightly. She turned around to see Lo'ak and Ao'nung hissing at each other, so she did the mature thing.

Kailua threw herself at his midsection. They rolled around in the surf, punching, kicking and slapping each other. "How dare you call me a freak?!" She hissed loudly. There was still the sound of skin hitting skin in the back of her mind, meaning more of Ao'nung's friends had turned up to fight. "You've betrayed this family! You wanna protect them? Live with them!" Ao'nung hissed. Kailua screamed and continued fighting him.

At least until: "WHAT ARE YOU ALL DOING!?"
