Kailua has a vision of the next year of their lives whilst underwater. Unaware of her abilities, the Sully children panic and rush her to the surface, unwillingly pulling themselves into her vision as well.

"Be careful, daughter. Do not let them know of your abilities," Kailua shook some hair out of her face, smiling sweetly at her father. "I won't sempu. I will teach them to swim, while Tsireya will teach them breath control if that eases your mind," Her dad shook his head, "No, you are our best swimmer and teacher. Just... be cautious, is all I ask." Kailua nodded. "Ok, sempu. I will. See you later!"
She dived into the water, relishing in the instant coolness it brought to her skin. She swam quickly, waving to the Ilu's by the teaching bit, squeaking at them. Spotting her sister, and surprisingly brother's trade mark greeny blue skin, she rose. "Holy shit, were you under there this whole time?!" The younger Sully brother exclaimed. He was elbowed harshly in the side by the older Sully. "I do not know what "shit" is, but no. I was swimming from my hut. It is the quickest form of transport, short of an Ilu or Skimwing."
She didn't miss the sharp glare the oldest Sully sent to the youngest Sully brother. She instead sighed sharply. "Right. First things first; can any of you actually swim?"
They could, but not very well. The littlest, Tuk, was a good swimmer, but couldn't hold her breath for very long at all. The Sully boys were pretty similar; where Neteyam was a stronger swimmer, Lo'ak could hold his breath for longer. Still nowhere near the other clan members for a long shot, but it was better than nothing. Kiri was an odd one. Kailua felt that she had an... aura, of sorts, about her. Like she too was connected to Eywa in a deeper way than their peers. She wasn't a strong swimmer at all but was the best breath holder by a good minute extra.
While Tsireya and Ao'nung ventured up to the surface with the boys and Tuk, Kailua swam off after Kiri. She found her manipulating the fishes with a wide grin. An Ilu pressed tightly against her side. Kailua waved to get her attention. Kiri glanced up with a soft smile. Kailua pointed upwards. We should go up. Your brothers are worried about you. She signed. Kiri shrugged her shoulders but swam anyway.
Whether she understood and didn't care, or didn't understand Kailua didn't know.

Later, after the Sully family had gone to clean up for dinner, Ao'nung had gone away with his friends and Tsireya had gone to feed the Ilu, Kailua sank to the bottom of the sea, letting herself breathe. Despite being able to breathe underwater, she still had to hold her breath in front of the Sully children. She couldn't let them find out about her gift. It turns out her breath-holding is appalling. She could only hold it for maybe thirty seconds. She would have to fake a backflip in the water, or a twist to recatch her breath.
She'd never needed to do it before.
But, as she allowed her thoughts to wander. She could feel the beginnings of a vision starting to take hold. Kailua blinked herself into action and swam slightly further out to definitely avoid the Sully children, and even her own clan, from seeing her receive a warning from the almighty mother. There was a splash somewhere above, but she was deep enough to be missed unless the na'vi was actively trying to find her.
And apparently, they were. Kailua took a slow breath, eyes snapping open when an arm grabbed hers and began pulling. "No! Let go! You'll-"
~~~
Kailua hovered under the surface, waiting with wide eyes.
"Get on!" A voice, Tsireya, shouted. There were two dark blue na'vi's bobbing in the water, and a pink... thing with them. The vision wasn't clear enough to display faces or clear voices, but their heads were too small to be Toruk Makto; which left the Sully boys. And one of them was dying. Kailua swam alongside the Ilu, desperately trying to see who it was, but the vision stayed blurry.
The dying na'vi was pulled onto three brothers rock, pleading and fighting death with all his might.
"Dad," He begged, grabbing Toruk Makto's hand. "Don't, you're gonna be fine, I promise, you're gonna be fine," An Ikran screeched above Kailua's head. It must be Neytiri, as, from what she could understand, everyone was accounted for.
Apart from Kiri and Tuk.
Kailua found her hands being forced onto the dying na'vi's chest. "God damn it, freak! Pressure!" Her hands slipped with the blood, but she was unable to pull them away.
"Dad, I can't die," The dying na'vi whimpered. He flailed around for the other na'vi's hand, grabbing it tightly as he wheezed. The dark blue na'vi twisted his head to the sky. Blood dribbled down his chin. He swallowed thickly. "I-,"
and his head fell to the side, eyes unblinking forever more.
Kailua was roughly pushed into the harsh, angry ocean. She fell deep, sputtering awake on a ship. "Ah, good. The local wizard is here! Cuff her, we'll use her too," Rough hands dragged her to the railing, kicking her back in. She fell through the railing, sliding down the side of the ship and into the water again.
~~
She woke with a harsh gasp. Usually, this wouldn't be a problem. However, Kailua realised with an abrupt feeling of dread that the person who'd grabbed her earlier, just before her vision struck, was in fact two people. The new dark-skinned Navis. They too, took a harsh gasp upon waking out of the vision. Kailua frantically grabbed their arms and began kicking for the surface with all her might.
They might die in the future, but they weren't fated to die under the sea (😏) in her company. Despite being as fluid as one can be short of actually being a fluid, she still struggled deeply to bring the former Omatikayan clan members to the surface. She signalled an Ilu over and attached her queue.
UP
They broke the surface, with Kailua pulling the Sully boys up above the water as best as she could. Neteyam woke first and wrapped an arm around the Ilu, heaving heavily to catch his breath. Kailua slapped Lo'ak with her tail, sighing in relief when he sputtered, flopping over the Ilu as well. She was so preoccupied with making sure they were ok, she forgot to fake her own heaving breaths.
Neteyam glared at her. "What on Eywa was that? You get visions!?" He said at the same time Lo'ak croaked, "You can breathe underwater!?"
Oops.
