Ch.10

Tori sat on her bed in the tower, her long brown curls falling limply pass her shoulders as she leaned over someone, a small smile dancing across her lips.

"Pietro, please stop with the silly faces." Tori giggled, falling back against the head board of her bed. Pietro sat up, smiling as he watched Tori laugh her heart out at him. At me.

Tori finally stopped laughing, her cheeks flaring as she stared back at Pietro. The two continued to stare at eachother until Tori giggled again. Crawling closer, Pietro leaned over Tori as he smirked at her, his pale cheeks lighting up slowly, as she sunk into the bed.

A knock at the door shocked the two as they pulled away, and Tori went to answer it. Opening the door, Tori gets greeted with a grinning Tony with his hands clasped around a bouquet of lilies.

"Tony!" Tori gasps, smiling as she takes the lillies from Tony's out stretched hands, pecking his cheek and giving him a small hug."You shouldn't have."

"I was wondering if you wanted to go out tonight?" Tony cocks a brow, smiling a genuine smile.

Tori's smile fades as she takes Tony's question in. "I'm sorry Tony. I'm actually..." the girl trails off as she opens the door fully, so Tony could see Pietro standing with his arms crossed over his chest, a glare directed at the billionaire.

"Stark." Pietro growled.

"Maximoff." Tony responded back with the same tone.

"I'm going out tonight with Pietro. We're doing a double date with Wanda and Vision." Tori looks between the two, before sighing."Thank you Tony, I really like the flowers, but you've got to go now."

"But.."

"Tony." Tori pleaded, "Not now, please?"

The man opened his mouth to retaliate but the girl interrupted him with an exasperated groan. She grabbed his sleeve and pulled him out of the room, leaving Pietro alone and confused.

Tori spun around and gazed at him with begging eyes. "Why are you doing this?" she hissed.

"I'm trying to tell you that that boy isn't right for you." he warned.

"And you are?!" Tori retaliated. "You're not my knight in shining armour Tony, coming to sweep me off my feet!"

"I never said I was!" he yelled. "I'm trying to look out for you!"

"I don't need you to! I'm not a baby - God, I'm far from that!"

"Then stop acting like one!"

The pair stood chest to chest, nose to nose, as they screamed at one another. This was the first time they actually fought, and to be honest it was really scary for  Tori.

"Then why don't you stop being a little bitch?!"

When those words passed through her lips she immediately regretted them and slapped her hands over her mouth. She doesn't swear - she never swears!

Tony's jaw dropped, his mind racing and trying to process what his best friend just said. This wasn't what he had in mind; she was supposed to say yes and they would go out and eat and maybe even share their first kiss. Not this.

He shut his mouth and nodded his head. "Okay." he murmured. "I'll leave you alone."

Tori was screaming at herself to go after him as he turned to leave but no muscle in her body made an effort to move. So she just stood there, watching the dejected man leave with his tail between his legs.

She shook her head. You don't need to worry about him, she told herself. You're going to have a good time with Pietro and the double date.

And so, Tori booted the man out of her room and cleaned herself up. She slithered on her dress and applied lip gloss and mascara. Tying her hair up in a lose braid and sliding on her flats, she opened her door to find Pietro waiting patiently with a bundle of roses.

His head perked up and he grinned. "Evening, princeza." he greeted before complimenting her appearance. "You look gorgeous."

"You look very handsome yourself, Pietro." she chuckled back before he offered her the roses. She took them gratefully and immediately ran off to get them into water. She returned to find her date and friends waiting for her and soon enough they were off.

Not long after, they arrived at Mi Amor, a fancy, fancy restaurant. They found their seats and were greeted with menus with never seen before delicacies that made Tori really excited. They ordered, ate, drank wine and then the slow music came on. Vision was already off with Wanda on the dance floor when Pietro offered his hand. The girl looked up at him with soft eyes as she took his hand in hers and walked to the middle of the room.

The pair situated their hands on the right body parts and bean to sway. "The truth is," Tori started, lookin at her feet. "I never really danced before."

Pietro's grin widened. "Well, for a a first timer, you're doing exceptionally well." he flirted.

As they danced, Tori's mind began to wander. She began to think about Tony, about what he would be doing right now. She thought about what she said to him and how much she wished she could take it back.

Then she was snapped out of her daze as she saw Pietro start to lean in. No! she scolded herself and subtly dodged his oncoming lips. He looked very offended but shrugged it off as her being nervous. But then she pulled herself out of his grasp and excused herself to the lady's room, leaving the speedster abandoned on the dance floor.

As soon as her cubical locked she whipped out her phone and dialed Tony's number. It rang a couple of times before the A.I picked up.

"Miss. Whittle? How can I help you?" FRIDAY's voice rung through the receiver.

"Uh - is Tony there?" she asked, both of her hands clutching her phone to her ear.

"Sorry, miss." it said. "Mr. Stark wished not to be disturbed."

"What? Why not?" Tori demanded, lightly cursing at the though that it was her fault.

"I don't know, Miss. He's been drinking all evening."

Tori sighed as a heavy feeling swept over her chest. "I'm on my way." and with that, she hung up.

The girl stormed out, grabbing her purse and walking towards Pietro. "Pietro, I've got to go."
