"Please just leave me alone," Marcel said softly, but Candy didn't listen she ran up to him and grabbed his hand. Her finger brushed over the silver band on his left hand.
Marcel couldn't help but give a small smile when he looked it at, it just it made him happy because it was his, it represented what made him happy.
Candy knew it was no time to bring up what had just happened so she focused on making Marcel happy.
"James?" She asked quietly. Marcel blushed and ducked his head, shyly shuffling his feet.
"Congratulations! We have so much to talk about, we need to catch up!" She stated, smiling and hugging him tightly.
Marcel sighed blissfully because Candy was okay with it.
"Yeah you're right," He said quietly.
She grinned at him, and tugged at his hand. "Shall we?" She asked playfully. He rolled his eyes but smiled as he lead her towards his flat. The rain was letting up and they were both soaking wet, but they didn't care.
The incident wasn't forgotten it was still there, eating away at his brain but he didn't...he didn't want to focus on that, and he was grateful that Candy understood silently he didn't want to talk about it.

"Louis! Aren't you going to go after him?" Zayn demanded.
Louis was staring down at the drying raindrops on the ground.
"He's not mine anymore," Louis mumbled silently. Shaking as he stared at the ground not willing to stand up or accept what he had just seen but knowing it was true.
Zayn huffed, he had finally had enough. He grabbed Louis by his shoulders pulling him up roughly. "You can't be serious, HE'S BACK. AND YOU'RE LETTING HIM GO AGAIN! HOW PATHETIC CAN YOU GET?!" Zayn shouted, looking into Louis' dull ocean eyes.
"But he's not mine anymore," Louis pressed on, his voice void of any emotion.
"Has that stopped you before?" Zayn asked.
Louis was silent. "Exfuckingzactly," Zayn said dropping him. Louis steadied himself and stood staring in the direction they had disappeared towards.
Zayn was right, Marcel was here after 4 agonizing years, he was back.
And Louis wasn't about to let the chance slip away.
Not like before.
Louis started running in the same direction, and soon he saw their small figures farther ahead.
"MARCEL!" Louis shouted. The figures didn't stop so Louis kept running."YOU NEED TO LISTEN TO ME PLEASE!"
The figures stopped walking, Louis was just a few meters away. He noticed Candy looking at him sympathetically, she held Marcel's hand in hers but not in a boyfriend girlfriend way, almost as if her hand was the one thing that kept Marcel still there. Still on Earth, and not slipping away.
"What do you want now?" Marcel asked quietly, his eyes cast down, feet shuffling.
"I-I didn't leave you that night," Louis said.
Marcel's eyes flashed in sadness and anger. "I said stop, okay? Leave me alone!" He said.
"No! Please, I didn't!" Louis said almost desperately.
"No, he really didn't leave you," Zayn said coming up behind Louis. Marcel's dull green eyes flickered towards him.
"Really?!" He said incredulously.
Zayn sighed, "Lou, he, he came to help me that night, I was in horrible trouble and he came to help me okay?"
Marcel didn't look impressed. "It's true," Candy piped up from beside him, his eyes turned towards her a frown making its way across his face.
"After you left, I waited and they came and I saw them, they were bleeding, Louis was bleeding from his head but he didn't care he just kept asking for you, and Zayn he told me what had happened, how they had gotten jumped I think? And then Louis fainted and I told Zayn...about everything." She said.
Louis' eyes widened and he turned towards Zayn. "You knew?" Louis said through his teeth.
Zayn didn't even look back at him and he just kept looking at Candy.
"YOU KNEW AND YOU DIDN'T TELL ME!" Louis shouted now the words aimed at Zayn and Candy.
"WE TRIED TO TELL YOU! We couldn't stand seeing you suffer but when do you think was a right time to tell you? When you were high as fuck and couldn't even remember your own name? Or when you were pissed out drunk and screwing all those whores?" Zayn said angrily glaring at Louis.
"I tried so hard Louis, I'm sorry." Candy said her voice a soft murmur.
~
"Louis? Please just listen to me," Candy said, tears filling and falling from her brown eyes.
Louis didn't pay attention he just kept staring out the window, not knowing what he was waiting for because most definitely a boy with slicked back dark curls wasn't about to show up.
Not after 6 months of not seeing him.
"Louis! Please listen to me!" Candy said almost begging.
"Leave." Louis told her.
"But, I ca-"
"LEAVE." Louis screamed, and she gasped her hand darting to cover her mouth, and she glanced at Zayn who looked at Louis pitifully.
But Louis didn't care.
"Okay Louis." And then Candy too was gone.
~
"Louis, just listen to me." Zayn started to say.
"What do you have to say that I should care about?" Louis retorted.
"Lou...just listen okay?" Zayn kept saying.
"What?!" Louis demanded.
"Marcel he, I, uh." Zayn said with a quiet tone still not sure if it was the right thing to do.
Louis just glared at him. "He left me with no explanation is that what you're trying to rub in? If so then GET OUT." He shouted.
His eyes widened. "No! That's not it." He just shook his head and looked away.
"JUST SHUT UP I DONT CARE ANYMORE." Louis screamed.
Zayn slowly nodded, realisation dawning on him.
"If you say so." And he walked away shaking his head, knowing that the man lying on the couch was lost to the world in his state of anger and resentment.
"I tried." He whispered, and he left not bringing up the subject an leaving Louis alone.
It's been 1 year.
~
"Lou, you need to stop doing this." Zayn said. Louis giggled, because he found Zayn's words funny.
"Stop doing what?" Louis said giggling.
"Stop getting high every freaking day!" Zayn said exasperated.
"Don't tell me what to do!" Louis said trying to sound angry, but the colours behind Zayn started changing and he suddenly found it funny.
"Oh Lou." Zayn mumbled.
It's been 1 year 6 months.
~
"Marcel...Babe?" Louis called out, his head feeling fuzzy and he was stumbling over his own two feet.
"Marcel?" Louis kept calling out.
"Lou...h-he's not here." Zayn said, reaching out a hand to steady Louis. Louis sighed, and started mumbling incoherent words.
"Well where'd he go?" Louis demanded suddenly, his eyes glossy and red rimmed.
"He...he hasn't been here for over a year." Zayn told him.
Louis' eyes narrowed, and his features softened. He looked like he was about to ask something but instead the only thing that left his mouth were the shots and bottles of alcohol he had downed goodness knows where.
Zayn pushed Louis' hair out of his face as he threw up, rubbing his back and coaxing him.
It's been 2 years.
~
"Lou, what the hell?!" Zayn demanded.
Louis wasn't listening, he just shoved his hands up the girl's shirt, and she giggled and let him.
"Fuck off Zayn." Louis said. He sloppily kissed alongside her neck, he felt nothing.
No emotion.
Nothing.
"Lou, you disappoint me." Zayn muttered and he walked away.
Louis didn't reply, because at that moment nothing really mattered. He pushed the girl's skirts down and she laughed and let him.
It's been over 2 years.
~
After that night Louis felt sick and disgusted with himself for doing that, so he kept to getting drunk and getting high.
Not caring, never feeling, and never letting anyone in.
Cause fuck feelings.
But now, staring into Marcel's deep pools of green, Louis felt himself falling once again, for the boy with the dorky laugh and cute dimples.
"Please, you need to believe me, believe them. I didn't want to leave you, why would I want to leave you after the best night of my life?" Louis said.
A dark blush crept up Marcel's face and he shuffled his feet again and glanced around for a few seconds.
"I-it doesn't matter. I'm happy, why can't you accept that?" Marcel said, his voice sounding painful, but he locked eyes with Louis once again.
"Because...because without you, I'm not." Louis told him. Ocean like eyes not breaking contact with the emerald green.
Marcel's face was an array of emotions. Finally a look of emptiness filled him. "No. I-I can't."
Louis took the final steps until he was just inches from Marcel, and he grabbed his hand. A feeling of electricity flowed through him at the connection.
"I'm not letting you go again." Louis said his voice definite.
The hand held the silver band on his finger and Louis eyed it, he also noticed that Marcel wasn't retracting his hand.
"Louis. Please." Marcel said, he too was eyeing the silver band.
"Please what?" Louis said coming closer to Marcel's face, his body wanting to be as close as possible to the warmer younger lad. Marcel didn't answer, he was too at loss for words.
"God. I've missed you so much." Louis whispered, his lips brushing over Marcel's.
Marcel tensed up. His other hand (having long been dropped by Candy who was now standing beside Zayn, watching the scene unfold.) reaching up to push Louis away. Louis saw it, so he reacted quickly, he took the last few centimetres and finally met Marcel's lips.
Fire erupted in his veins, and he heard a quiet gasp behind them. His hand gripped Marcel's waist, and pulled him closer. His heart sped up, and an emotion began to fill him, the same emotion that he thought had long been gone.
The feeling of happiness and, excitement coursed throughout him. Until it was thrown away when Marcel's fist connected with his chest pushing him away.
Louis looked at him, rejection and sadness flickering across his features.
"I-" Marcel started to say, but his mouth opened and closed a few times until he finally closed them, confused in what he was about to say.
Louis wasn't backing down though, he grabbed Marcel's hand, fingers tightening over the silver band on his finger.
"I have let you go so many times, because I fucked up. Right now, I'm not letting you to okay? I'm not going to ruin this again over a simple mistake. But if you are sure then...then...Tell me, you don't care about me, tell me you couldn't care less about me and I'll go. I'll go, and I'll never come back okay? Just tell me you don't give a shit about me, and I will leave right here right now, and not come back okay?" Louis said, staring into Marcel's eyes.
An emotion of complete loss and confusion crossed his features. Seconds passed but they seemed like hours.
Finally...Marcel spoke.
"I-I've missed you too," Marcel said in a broken voice.
