•Chapter 23• (If You Say So)
•Marcel•
"Babe, can we just talk for a while?" Louis said softly, pulling me towards the couch.
"Oh right of course, yeah I think I'm going to go home." Candy said her eyes watery, my hand reached out to her to stop her from going any further.
"Hey, thank you," I said quietly, and I pulled her into my arms. Her head barely reaching my chest, she softened and hugged me back.
"For what?" She said almost smiling, as she pulled back, wiping her brown eyes.
"For telling me to forgive," I told her. "And telling me to not give up on Lou," I said even more quietly.
She laughed and kissed my cheek, "What are friends for? I'll see you tomorrow," She said, with a smile on her lips and a pink tint to her cheeks. She didn't make eye contact as she walked away, and closed the door behind her.
Then she abruptly stopped in her footsteps. "Uhhh," and she pointed to the other side of a couch where we heard soft groans being emitted.
And a hand caught the couch by the side as a figure appeared. My breath hitched when I noticed who.
"Jake," Louis said coldly, tightening his grip on my hand.
"Fuck," Jake swore, holding his cheek where dried blood and a big purple and blue bruise was appearing.
"You guys are fucked up I'm out of here, it was fun doing things Lou," and Jake left leaving a glaring Candy after him as he slammed the door.
"Things?" I said softly.
"It's nothing he's fucking lying all we did was get high," Louis said through his teeth.
"Oh," I said still hurt.
Louis sighed beside me, and pressed his lips against my hand. "I didn't do anything, believe me," he said looking into my eyes. I nodded, and he let out a crack of a smile.
"If I see that kid again I swear I will kill him," Candy said, "Well, bye," and she left as well, without so much as a second glance towards me, however she shot Louis a look as she closed the door behind her. Louis tensed up but soon sighed.
Uh?
Niall fidgeted around in his seat, and abruptly stood up. "I guess we can hang out later, I'll see you, and Louis what I said. I meant," and with a small grin Niall followed behind in Candy's footsteps.
I stood beside, waiting for Liam or Louis to say something anything, knowing that there was still tension between them.
"Liam," Louis said. "I am sorry, for what I did, I am sorry for what I took that should have been saved for someone special. I am sorry for everything I've put you through," I looked at Louis an saw his eyes were full on Liam who just stared back at him his brown eyes cool, void of emotion.
"Yeah, I'm sorry too, I'll see you Marcel," and Liam left without another word or glance toward either of us. Louis sighed and ran a hand through his hair.
"I mean it, I swear on my life Marcel, I will never do anything like I did with Liam, I only want you." Louis said and he pulled me against his side and we sat down on the couch. His hand lightly tugging at the loose curls near my cheek.
I didn't reply to what he said, instead I took ahold of his hand. "What do you want to do?" I asked him.
He smiled, "Can we just talk?" He said. I couldn't help but smile. No harshness in his words, and his arms weren't continuously on me, he just wanted to listen and talk to me.
"About what?" I said almost shyly. He smiled and pulled me in closer, nuzzling his head against my cheek.
"Anything," he whispered softly.
I smiled, and he pulled back and smiled too, poking my face causing me to chuckle.
"Well, I like the color orange!" I told him brightly. He scrunched up his nose, and I couldn't help but smile.
"Really, why?" He asked, entwining his hand with mine and I let him.
"It's just a really pretty color, have you ever seen the sunset? That kind of orange, maybe even mixed with other colours, it makes me feel happy and calm," I said, instantly regretting my words, would he think that was too stupid? But all he did was smile happily.
"You're too adorable, God, I was such a fuck up," he said his voice slightly louder. He ran his hand through his light brown hair, tossing it to the side.
"Hey, don't say that, I fucked up too," I told him, gripping his hand tightly.
"Forgive and forget...it may not change the past but it gives us a chance at a future...together," I kept saying, his eyes brimmed with new tears and his hand let mine go. The warmth leaving with it.
He placed his hand on my cheek. "You're too perfect," he said softly, and he leaned in his thin lips pressing softly against mine. "I don't deserve you, you deserve someone so much better," he said, his voice breaking. I pressed my lips against his, shushing him.
"Maybe so, but I want you," I told him, my breath hitting his lips.
His hands cupped my cheeks, bringing my face closer to him. I felt flushed but happy. My arms encircled his waist. One of his hands slipped to my neck, coming up towards my hair tugging at the loose curls.
His lips went lower across my jaw, I gasped and I felt him smile. "Lou," I said trying to hide the fact that my breath hitched when he kissed alongside my neck.
"Yeah?"
"What's your favourite color?" I asked.
And he started laughing. He let me go, and laughed, clutching his stomach as he doubled over. My eyebrows furrowed in confusion, then widened when I saw his jeans were slightly restraining something.
Knowing if he initiated something I wouldn't be able to pull off, I had trouble just barely managing to ask him that!
But, I trusted him. We would take things slow.
"Love, you're too innocent for your own good," he said in between laugh filled pants. "At least," and he looked up, mischief in his eyes. "Well, I do recall, a certain times..." He started saying.
I went a dark red and shook my head, "Lou," I said my voice almost warning like, but in reality I was embarrassed...that day was the farthest I had ever let myself go with someone (given Louis was the first to ever show he'd take me like that but still.) And well all the other times did not count. I wasn't really focusing.
He chuckled and kept his blue-grey eyes on me. "Your blush," he said as he turned a light pink himself.
"My blush?" I asked even more confused.
"The color your cheeks get whenever I say anything even...dirty wise," he said with a cheeky grin.
"Oh," and I blushed looking away.
"See, it's beautiful, I love it," and he leaned in and kissed my cheek.
A little bit of me became apprehensive, was this possibly the same Louis? The one who just wanted me for pleasure? Or could he really care? I believed he could...he could care and he does.
I shook my head, Louis promised he'd be a better person.
Promises mean the world to me, he wouldn't break it, I know...but did I really?
"Babe, what's wrong?" Louis asked, brushing his thumb across my cheek. I didn't say anything.
"Nothing, just, don't hurt me again please? I don't think I could take it," I told him honestly, and I looked down and let a tear fall.
"Oh my beautiful Marcel," and he wrapped his arms around me and pulled me into a hug.
"I would rather fucking kill myself then ever hurt you, I'm not fucking this up for us, I care too much," he said, his words having the same effect as they have had all day. A sense of light and happiness filling me, and I knew at that moment that he was speaking the truth, I believed him, I believed in him.
Nothing would change that.
We sat in silence but that's how I rather have it. I listened to his heartbeat, it was calm and in rhythm.
"What do you wanna do now babe?" He asked running his hand through my hair.
Then my stomach decided to do something embarrassing and it growled like a lion.
He chuckled, "Food it is," and he let me go. I blushed and looked away. He caught my chin in his hand making me look back at him.
"Beautiful," he whispered an he kissed my cheek, standing up soon after as I was left in a slight daze by his small sincere action.
"Pizza, my mom made some," I found myself incoherently mumbling.
He laughed, and walked into the kitchen but not before taking my hands in his and sure enough there was a perfectly round pizza in the oven. For a second my mind flickered back to Niall, had he not seen it? When I opened the fridge I saw a huge chunk of the pasta my mom Had made last night was gone and I couldn't help but grin...oh Niall.
"It's still warm," Louis said brightly.
"Oh good she made it without-"
"Mushrooms and onions," Louis finished off saying with me. I looked at him, he didn't like those either? We grabbed a plate and each grabbed two pieces.
I figured now would be a better time then ever to ask him on why Candy gave him that look.
"Oh, it's nothing," he said softly.
"But-"
He shot me a look, and I backed down and he sighed, putting his piece of pizza down, he took my face in his hands.
"I'll tell you about it one day okay? Just not now, I'm not ready," he said softly and he kissed my nose.
I blushed but slowly nodded. Knowing it would take him some time to fully trust me with something so close, and knowing it would take time for me to trust him.
I mean I did believed his words but it would take his actions for me to trust him. Is that weird? Trust and belief? I believe him but I don't fully trust him on some issues..
I've never been so confused...
