A griefing child starts insulting/hitting you (Blue Lions)
Sorry if it's OOC, it's still the first few chapters so it's still a bit of playing around until I find how to write them the best way.
Dimitri:
He said a firm yet gentle and soft "hey!" when he saw it. He understood how this child felt, he felt terrible for the child and it grew hatred in him to the enemy. He sternly told the child he understands how they feel but they shouldn't hurt the person that helped them out and instead thank you. The child refused so Dimitri kept insisting, trying to explain they are the good ones.
The child angrily yelled he doesn't understand how they feel so Dimitri told them of how he lost his parents years ago but he still tries to look on the bright side and he keeps going and now has these amazing friends. He told the kid again to now apologize to you, and finally the kid looked and mumbled a sorry then ran off. Dimitri watched the kid with upset eyes before sighing and looking at you. He looked as if he wanted to say something but then looked down and walked away. After that he was more silent and his eyes stayed mostly on the ground, as if deep in thoughts.
Dedue:
You stared down at this child weakly hitting your side, when he suddenly got two hands grab their sides and easily got lifted. Dedue asked them if this is how they thank people. The child began flailing, yelling to be put down so Dedue turned and put them away from you, telling the kid not to hit you again as you worked hard to help this place. The child angrily yelled back their village got destroyed in the process, to which Dedeu simply coldly answered "but the people are safe, and that is more important". Realizing his cold tone that seemed to scare and make the kid more cautious he added a "wouldn't you agree?". The child stared at him with a frown then mumbled they suppose. Dedeu stepped aside, motioning to you, telling the child to apologize so the child did. You gave the kid a nod then watched them leave before thanking Dedeu, who just answered "of course" with a firm nod.
Felix:
He understood the kid all too well, but you didn't do anything wrong, helped even, so he barked back at the kid. This caused the kid to stumble back, freezing up with fear in their eyes so you called Felix's name, not needing him to frighten this terrified child more. The kid stayed standing frozen so Felix sighed then crouched, lowering his tone to assure the kid they will learn to live with it. The kid seemed confused by it so awkwardly Felix shared that he lost his brother a long time ago, and while the pain is still there he has learned how to handle it better and he has great friends to help him through the issues. He and the kid talked for a little while so you left to give them privacy.
Once he returned the others teased him a bit about it, mainly the "great friends" part. Felix kept declining he ever said that. You thanked him for dealing with that issue. He glanced then shrugged, muttering he didn't do it for you but the kid, then hurried away.
Sylvain:
He was quickly there, saying "hey, hey, buddy" and nervously took the kid's shoulders, asking them if this is how their parents raised them to treat adults. He glanced to you, as if wondering "is the professor even an adult..?" as he still tries to figure out your age then looked back to the kid when they began sobbing about how their parents are dead because of you. Sylvain looked at you but you shook your head, no clue who this kid's parents could have been, so Sylvain awkwardly explained to the kid, trying in a kid friendly way, how war involves dead but for each dead two gets saved. He knew that was bullshit, that it didn't help that kid in any way, but he didn't know what else to do or say.
He came to help but now he began looking at you for help so you kneeled down and told the kid you are sorry but everyone you slayed this battle was evil and trying to kill you and everyone here so you just did what you had to to keep everyone safe. Sylvain almost facepalmed since that was as bad as his and brought the kid no comfort in any way. The kid hit you again, screaming "I hate you!" then ran away, sobbing. Sylvain reached out to the kid but then sighed and dropped his hand. He held his hand out to help you back up, commenting this is a part of war they can't be prepared for or help with. He said it with a dark look in his eyes; furious these poor innocent people have to suffer like this.
Ashe:
He felt so bad for these people, especially those terrified children. He saw one leave his sister's side to run to you. He watched, confused: wondering what that kid will go. Only to rush over when the kid began hitting you and shouting curses at you. He quickly took their arms from behind and pulled them off, asking you to forgive them and they just have it tough. You gave a confused look but assured you understand. Ashe softly asked the kid why they would do that, only to get shouting back of how you all caused this and if you all didn't come nobody would be dead or buildings would still be intact. You informed coldly that they would all be dead if not for the Blue Lions, so Ashe gave you a pleading look to stop talking then awkwardly told the kid it is true though.
He pulled the kid aside, talking a bit with them until they calmed down then walked them back to their sister, telling them how they should now stay specially close to their sister and keep good watch over her. The kid asked what if the bad men return so Ashe hesitated then gave a little knife with a nervous smile, saying this might not do much but it will do enough to give them time to run away if anything grabs and tries to attack them.
Ingrid:
She was quick to bark a "hey!" as she saw a kid suddenly throw a rock at you and shout an insult. You assured her it's fine but Ingrid argued "it's not!" then walked to the kid, asking why they would do that and if they don't realize how dangerous and hurtful that is. When the child began sobbing you all killed their family Ingrid fell silent, slowly getting out of her fighting mindset and realizing what's going on. She said a soft "I'm so sorry".but the kid threw another rock. This time Ingrid didn't shout, just moved away. She's not sure how to describe what she felt, she just knows it held great guilt and anger in it. Not to the kid but herself. She could only think "if we only came earlier" and "if we only made different moves". The kid ran away, and all she could do was watch then look down to the ground.
You approached and reminded her what happened happened so no use pondering about what could have been. She looked at you as if you were such an insensitive person before storming off, shaking her head. She blamed herself: telling herself she's the reason a child is now an orphan.
Mercedes:
She gasped so softly you barely heard it, especially over the child's tiny palms smacking your stomach and shouting. She slowly approached before touching the child's shoulder gently, asking the child why they are hurting you. As the child yelled because they saw you destroy their town Mercedes crouched down and gently took their hands. She held them tight but not with too much pressure, explaining to the child slow but simple that they try not to destroy places during these battles but sometimes that is unavoidable and it has to be done to rid the place of bad people.
She spend quite a few minutes with the child, answering the best she could to anything the child had to ask or say, until she had them feel even just slightly better. Only then she finally stood up and said she has to go now before her team leaves without her then hurried back to the group. As she left the area she looked behind for the child, and upon spotting waved a little "goodbye", which she got returned, and then happily walked away, though with a bit of sorrow and guilt in her heart.
Annette:
All she could do was gasp and cover her mouth when a little child ran to you and began hitting you. You just stared down. Annette slowly whispered for you to do something so you told the child to stop it. She almost rolled her eyes then hurried closer and crouched down, asking the child to stop, which just got them to start hitting harder yet still felt like nothing to you.
Annette felt her heart breaking. This is the part of war she knew she wouldn't be able to handle well: the suffering the war causes to people. She pulled the child into a hug before she even realized. She held the child tight with tears brewing in her own eyes. The child froze at this then began tearing up before sobbing loudly and hugging her back. You wanted to move away to give them space but Annette grabbed your leg, not wanting to be left alone right now with this child so you stayed, just petting both their heads to comfort both. Once it was over and all had to leave she waved goodbye to the child, feeling sorrow she has to leave the poor child behind.
