The Meeting
Alright. So, it's 8:30 the same day I posted chapter 2, and I'm still in the writing mood since I was already planning on these two events being in the same chapter, so you know what? Screw it. I'll write this now.
~~Noah's Pov~~
I was waiting in the Central Plaza, sitting on the fountain. Waiting for Lana to show up. The thought of seeing her again gave me butterflies in my stomach though. It's probably nothing important, maybe just me being a little hungry.
~~Robin's Pov~~
"... and please don't joke about him being my boyfriend when we are there, okay?" I couldn't help but chuckle at her trying to pretend she doesn't like this 'Noah' person. I just hoped he was good for her.
"Sis, you have blue fur. The red on your face sticks out like a sore paw." She jolted slightly and the blush got bigger, "Relax. I promise I will keep your clear admiration a secret."
Her face gets even more red, "See? This right here is what I'm talking about! He is a friend" I let out a laugh under my breath.
"Like I said, your blush is painfully obvious, and anytime me or you so much as mentions this Noah fellow, your blush is a telltale sign to anyone that you like him."
She opened her mouth to reply, "Al... You.... I..... Alright fine, I like him. But it's not as if I can go 'Hey Noah, I love you, I want to be with you for the rest of my life, let's be mates. What do you say?' And not expect him to think I'm fucking weirdo! We met YESTERDAY." I couldn't help but laugh at her outburst.
"C'mon, Lana. I never said to do that. You need to build a bond of friendship first, and when you feel you are ready, just tell him. Make sure not to wait too long, though. The longer you wait past what you think of as the right time, the more hesitant you will be to go for it."
She looked down at the ground, trying to hide her blush, "Thank you, Robin." I gave her a pat on the back, "No problem, sis." She looks up after her blush has faded enough to just be a faint pink.
"There he is, sitting on the fountain." I looked up, and sure enough, there was a lone, shiny Umbreon sitting on the fountain. "Well, he looks fine enough. Well, let's go up to him, huh?" Lana simply nodded, it was clear she was nervous.
~~Noah's Pov~~
I was looking around. I could have sworn we agreed to meet here, but it's 12:15. Did she forget?
Well, my question was answered less than a second later when I saw Lana running towards me, following behind was a Jolteon about an inch taller.
"Hey Noah. Sorry I'm late, did I keep you waiting long?" She asked, rushing her words like they were late as well. "No, not really." I looked at the Jolteon beside her, "Who's this?" I asked, I'm glad neither got offended, cuz in hindsight, that could have been taken pretty negatively.
"I am Robin Savill, aspiring lawyer, third year at the Petalberg Law school. And Lana, here, is my little sister. She talked about how she met a shiny Umbreon from Aria yesterday, and I wanted to get to know you myself"
The jolteon extended his paw, and I shook it. "Dusk Lowell. I don't really have a job, nor do I go to college yet. But it's nice to meet you, sir"
The jolteon let out a hearty laugh, "Please, call me by my name. None of this 'Sir' stuff, I'm nobody's old man yet."
Lana tried scooting closer to me, but I didn't really mind, though I find her attempts to be discreet about it to be pretty funny.
"So. What say we go and get some lunch, ey? I'll pay" now this caught my attention. I was really hungry, and judging by Lana's reaction, she was too. Both Lana and I nodded, causing Robin to let out a soft chuckle.
"Alright, I know just the place, come on" Robin started walking towards what looked like a café, when I heard Lana speak up. "Hey, isn't this Flora's place?" Flora? I assume that's someone they both know.
"Indeed it is. Our pal Noah needs to know what REAL Petalburg food tastes like right off the bat!" Huh. So this 'Flora' is sounding to be some great chef, then I hear a voice, a female one.
"Oh, please hun, you know I don't like it when people say that… I'm really not" the voice seemed to be coming from a leafeon behind the counter. Strangely enough, the place was empty.
"Well, dear, as an attorney, it is my job to state the truth, no matter what" Hun? Dear? Are these two mates? Well, that would explain Lana knowing her.
"You're not an attorney yet, Robin." This caused him to let out a loud and clearly fake gasp, "I'll have you know that I am in the final year, with only 4 months to go, thank you very much!"
Flora rolled her eyes, smiling. "Being close still doesn't mean you're an Attorney Robin, now what would you 3 like to eat?"
Robin sighed in defeat and placed an order for us as we waited for our food to be made, and I couldn't help but ask, "What was that for? Are you two a thing?"
Robin was about to answer before Flora interrupted him, "6 years strong." She began to hand out our orders before turning to me. "You must be Noah, correct? Lana told me a bit about you this morning. Hope you enjoy your time here."
I nodded as I ate, after taking a bite my eyes widened. This was so much better than anything back in Aria, "Thank you. I really have enjoyed living here so far. I just want to thank all of you for being so kind."
Lana spoke up this time, "No problem, Noah. We enjoy you being here as well."
I nodded my head.
I found friends in this new town already. Things really are looking up.
1105. Words. The other two were 907 and 906, and that was with the long A/N in the second one. I started this around 8:30 and it is now 10:40 as I publish this. This chapter took me 2 hours and 10 minutes. As always, please let me know of anything I should change in the comments, and until next time... Peace!
