That's Not a Meeting

(A/n)
I like to think my husband could pull off a Killer cosplay when I look at this fanart. Maybe not post time skip but definitely pre time skip. He's got the longer blonde hair and love for plants. He's built like a bean pole though.

"Why are we doing this again?" You huffed at Killer.

"Because you don't have one and you need to have something to wear to this." He answered, shuffling through the clothing racks.

"I do have something I can wear."

"You're not going to the beach in a tee and shorts Blue."

"I don't want to wear a bikini either."

"Why not?" He smiled invitingly as he held up a black and yellow one. "You'd look great in one."

"It's too revealing." You shook your head.

There was no way you'd walk around the rest of the crew wearing that thing. Especially since it wouldn't be just around Kid's crew. Killer had managed to talk both the Heart and Strawhat gangs into a meeting but it was going to be the strangest meeting you'd ever heard of. The Strawhats only insisted on going if it was fun and if they didn't go, the Heart crew refused to go. So Killer got them both to agree to a day trip to the beach. Business would be discussed and then the rest of the day was supposed to be a fun get together if things worked out, like a celebration.

He was sure it'd all go well, hinting that he knew how to get the Strawhats to join in and the Heart crew would follow. You didn't doubt him one bit. He had figured out how to get you after you thought you'd hated him, it wouldn't be hard to get similar results with other people.

So it was they day before the trip and Killer had taken you out for last minute swim suit shopping. Some of the others had tagged along but they were already done, not nearly as picky or stubborn as you. Men had such an easier time shopping anyway. They just got whatever caught their eye and they were good. No need to think about showing too much skin or worrying over being ogled by others. You wouldn't have that problem either if Killer didn't insist on getting you an actual bathing suit.

"How about you try picking something out?" He put the bumble bee-esque bikini back. "Something you'd be more comfortable in."

You had to get something, he wouldn't take you home until you did. So you buckled and started sifting through the options, listening to some of the other guys as they poked around curiously.

"Need some help?" Hayate asked. "Check out this one!"

He held up a neon green one that was even smaller than the one Killer suggested. It be great if you were looking to use it in bed.

"No." You and Killer said flatly at the same time.

It was too revealing even for him. He wouldn't risk that with other men around to see it. Hayate put it back, looking a little dejected but then Heat came by, holding up a different one. Great. More suggestions from men who should never be picking out things like this. Heat's option would cover more than what Hayate suggested but not by much. It was a baby blue one with delicate strings holding the bottom half together. The top had more straps on it than you could ever hope to figure out.

"Thanks, but that's not going to work either." You shook your head.

"Black is always a good choice." Wire said, pushing another one into your chest.

It was indeed black but half of it was a mesh, reminiscent of the shirts he wore. The most important parts would be covered but there'd be little left to the imagination. Not to mention you didn't want to wear something so suggestive that'd remind you of Wire all the time.

"Yeah, no." You put it back and frowned at the men. "How about give me a chance to look through myself. I appreciate the help but...."

"None of that is practical." Killer said. You could appreciate that he'd picked much more modest ones for you to look at but that had more to do with keeping you to himself than anything else. Still, it beat his friends choices.

They all wandered off a little dejected but understanding. With the distraction gone, you went back to searching yourself.

"You don't care for showing yourself off in front of others." Killer noted.

"Well, it's complicated." You felt him bend over your shoulder to plant a comforting yet tasteful kiss on your cheek. Not too affectionate while out in public. "I don't mind wearing nice, cute things out and about. It's just hard when they're so revealing."

He nodded in understanding. It all boiled down to being more modest about yourself. Even in bed you couldn't help but feel very exposed around Killer and he'd seen you naked more times than you could count.

"Oh, this one's not so bad." You pulled out one of the bikinis to get a better look at it.

The bottom half was simple and pale yellow while the top was white and covered in a colorful floral pattern. Instead of being as revealing as the others you'd seen, it was covered in cute ruffles and was more like a halter top with straps you could tie around the back of your neck to keep it in place. It'd be form flattering and effective in keeping you from being too self conscious.

"Floral print huh?" Killer grinned. "I'll have to look into finding you more stuff like that."

----

Standing at the waters edge, you remembered why you didn't go to the beach.

Now in your defense, you hadn't gone in forever anyway and hadn't thought about how you couldn't actually do much with your devil fruit ability.

The guys were piling stuff up on the empty beach. Everything from umbrellas to lawn chairs, coolers full of beer, and enough food to feed everyone ten times over. The other two gangs hadn't shown up yet so there was plenty of time to set up and they were taking full advantage of that.

While Killer was organizing it all, Kid sat in the sand a short distance from you. He was close enough to the water to feel the breeze playing off the waves while staying far enough to avoid getting wet. He'd come wearing swim trunks like everyone else but had a white shirt on as well.

You'd say it was silly to wear so much to the beach but you weren't much better than him. Over your swimsuit was one of Killer's shirts, a blue one with a stylized skull on the front with two blades crossed directly underneath it. It was one of his favorites and he was happy to lend it to you, if only to see you in it. On him, it was very tight, almost too small for him. While on you, it fell to your knees and covered everything completely, hanging off of you as if you were a child in adult clothes.

"Do you mind the ocean?" You asked Kid.

"Hmm? Oh, nah. I like it." He bared his teeth into a smile. It was charming in its own, devilish way.

"Even though you can't swim in it?"

"Swimming ain't everything. The ocean is great to watch and it's the most mysterious thing in this world. There's always new things to learn about it."

He was right about that. Everyone had to have some level of curiosity about the sea and what was hidden in it's depths. Kid sure did at least.

"I am a fan of fish." You said, stepping close enough to the water for it to lap along your feet occasionally.

Each time it made you feel a little tired, just for a second. If you were to go further in, the feeling would completely wash over you. It wasn't terrible and you could function well enough. But if you got too far into the water you'd surely drown. It was an interesting thought.

"Fuck, I could go for some sushi now that you mention it." Kid agreed and you felt yourself practically drooling. You'd have to talk Killer into taking you out on a sushi date later. Before dating him, the best you'd had was cheap gas station cuts but he'd taken you to some of the best places in the city for the real stuff and had you hooked.

"Well lucky for you," Killer waltzed over, now finished setting up. "I packed some just for the three of us."

"Yessssss." You wrapped your arms around him and buried your face in his torso. No one planned ahead better than him.

His hands fell to your waist naturally as he acknowledged you but continued to talk to Kid. "Everything's good to go, the others should be here soon. Be civil and I'm sure this will work out fine."

"I can be civil without you having to remind me." Kid growled as he stood.

"What's the big plan for getting the strawhats to agree?" You looked up at your lover, adoring how he looked with his hair pulled out of the way in a ponytail. A portion was done in a braid and slipped into the band holding it all in place. That was your doing.

"Food and drink."

".... You're serious?"

"Sounds silly but Luffy is quite the glutton and his second in command drinks enough to drown a fish. They'll like the peace offering."

"That sounds too easy."

"Some people are more easily bought than others." He kissed you and you could hear Kid's sound of disgust behind you. Kid was a fan of women and sex, but not love apparently.

"Do yourselves a favor and unlatch from each other so we can take care of this." The redhead griped, nodding over to the beach entrance.

Both of the other crews had arrived at the same time and were coming down together. It was easy to tell who belonged to which group. The strawhats agreed to meet if they could have fun and they looked ready for a good time, all decked out in swim gear with arms full of their own beach necessities. Law and his men came dressed more normally, probably not planning on actually enjoying themselves while they were here. It made you glad that you had the shirt on to cover your new swimsuit. You could've totally came with just a tee and shorts like you originally planned and been fine.

"It already looks like a party!" Luffy cheered, pushing past everyone to be the first to hit sand. He was clutching at the hat that flew off his head so as not to lose it and you realized it was the gangs namesake. He really did wear a strawhat.

"This is super!"

"It is a beautiful day to spend outside."

"Yes, but are there more beautiful ladies around?"

"Forget that, how about booze?"

More of his group sauntered over, completely at ease in the midst of the Kid gang. You weren't sure if they were stupid to be so relaxed or were just that confident in their abilities. Law's crew stayed off to the side, scrunched together like a nervous flock of sheep.

"We'll be chatting up the leaders." Killer ruffled your hair until you had successfully swatted his hand away. "Keep out of trouble until then."

"I never get into trouble." You huffed.

"Don't ruin that good streak now then." He walked off with Kid to talk to Luffy and Law.

But before you could see how that'd go, a familiar voice shouted for your attention.

"Hey, dragon girl!" Zoro was staring you down with a viscous smile. "How about that rematch?"

You opened your mouth to tell him now probably wasn't the best time for that and were interrupted by a blonde man kicking him right in the face.

"How dare you suggest fighting a lady?" He roared. "My delicate flower, he won't touch you, I'll keep you safe."

He fawned over you, dropping to one knee and holding one of your hands in both of his. Other women may like the strange, although sweet, way he was acting but it only irked you that he assumed you were helpless.

"No thanks." You pulled your hand away, making the mingling crews laugh. You didn't realize there was an audience. "I can take care of myself just fine."

He blinked slowly, not planning on that response.

"You're talking to the dragon there bud!" Hayate laughed. "She could eat you for breakfast!"

The blondes eyes widened. "I'd be honored if you did that."

He looked entirely too serious to be joking and it had you wondering what was wrong with him.

"No." You backed off, hoping to go find Heat or Wire to keep you company. "I'd uh, rather not."

"You're the dragon?" An orange haired woman stepped in your way. Her long locks fell along her bare shoulders as her eyes shone. She was wearing a bikini similar to the bumble bee one you'd looked at except it was blue and white. "Crazy question, have you ever had the urge to hoard valuables and if so, where at?"

"Are all you Strawhats this strange?" You asked before you could actually process your own words. You'd done a good job curbing your attitude since moving in with Killer but sometimes you still had slip ups.

"I'm afraid so." A black haired woman laughed. You assumed she was from the same gang. "Our boss, Luffy, has a habit of finding the most interesting recruits. I'm rather surprised he didn't find you before Eustass Kid did."

"It would've been super great to have a dragon with us." Another man joined in, positively beaming as he made sure his bright blue hair stayed in it's carefully styled duck tail.

Soon the whole crew was surrounding you, trying to get a word in. You thought Kid's gang was pretty diverse but Luffy's group had proved you wrong. He had everything from intimidatingly gorgeous women to a literal talking reindeer who informed you he had eaten the human human devil fruit. You didn't think something like that was possible but that was just another thing for the Strawhats to prove you wrong with. And you thought your devil fruit powers were crazy.

At one point you caught sight of Wire and begged him with your eyes to come at least provide you with some moral support, but he smiled and left you to deal with the entirety of the Strawhat gang. They weren't a threat as of right now so he saw no reason to rescue you. You couldn't wait for Killer to finish up so you could get out of being forced to socialize so much.

It was going to be a long day.
