Chapter 1

Part 1
------
Mott sat in the back of the cafeteria, he slowly dragged his spoon in his mashed potatoes and lazily looked a round. It was loud and cheerful. So far, the army has been doing well.
1/3 of the world has been concured; it may not half, but it's still pretty impressive.
"Rumor has it, is that someone broke into one of the labs testing laser guns last night."
Mott hears the gossip to his right and sighed.
"That must be why we are having a meeting today."
Mott thinks back to last week when he was on night patrol, he saw a few figures in the shadows and ignored them in favor of not being seen himself.
-------‐--
"Attention all soldiers, quiet down, Red Leader is about to speak!"
The soldiers all stand in neat rows, all standing and waiting. They salute when they see their leader and he salutes back. He tells them to sit.
"Greetings to the Red Army Soldiers. As you all know, there are rumors of one of the labs getting broken into. However, that is false. All guns and blue prints are accounted for. Nothing was taken and nothing has been left behind. Nothing is out of place. There are no hand prints either. With that being said, we will be up grading security regardless to insure that, that won't happen. Those that are picked will have a change in schedule. That it all, dismissed."
The soldiers file out of the room in an orderly fashion.

Perspective Change
----------
"Sir, that is not true?"
"I know, but there is a reason I lied."
Red Leader walked into his office and his old school friend followed. Next to him is his temporary assistant.
Red Leader sat on his chair and began to work on the papers in front of him.
"First Lieutenant, Paul, of the Second Platoon, I am putting you in charge of selecting trustworthy soldiers from the normal foot soldiers to tighten security with. Here is a list of names I have already picked, narrow it down to three."
"That's all?"
"Yes, I will have Captain Patrick, of the First Platoon, take it from there."
"Yes, sir."
"You may go."
Lieutenant Paul left. Captain Patrick stayed.
"Patrick, please don't fxck this up."
"I will try, sir."
"I will make you the drill Sargent for the special soldiers if you do."
"Yes, sir."
"Now, I want you to look over the soldiers, Paul picks and see if any of them are shady as fxck."
"You said they were trustworthy?"
"Well, I lied. Again."
"Okay...."
"Paul fxcks things up daily, so if I told him that they are suspicious- he will pick the ones that can be trust by accident, because he is an idiot."
Red Leader sighs and massages his temples.
"You are slightly less stupid. You see where I'm going with this? Since Paul thinks they can be trustworthy, he will pick the most likely to be traitors because that is how much of an idiot he is."
"Why is he a high ranking officer again?"
"He has a good battle record and I knew him from Elementary school."
"So you know when he is being honest then."
"Yes, I can read him like a book. Makes things easy for me."
"What else do want me to do?"
"Comb through that file on the special soldiers and see if there is anything that needs to be done. Not all of them are special because of a disability, there are a few that special because of how exceptional they are."
Patrick nodded and opened the file. Red Leader started to write on the paper in front of him.
"Sir."
"Hm?"
"You fxcked up."
Red Leader stopped, put the pen down and looked at Patrick.
"What?"
"This says -List Of Trustworthy Soldier, Paul, pick three-."
"....."
"......"
"Shxt."
Red Leader and Patrick scrambled to the door and down the hall to try and catch up to Paul.
Fxck fxck fxck fxck fxck fxck fxck fxck fxck FXCK!!!!!
They catch up to Paul eventually. Paul smiles at them, oblivious to the fact that they just ran.
"Hello Red Leader, sir! I just picked the soldiers like you said! They look excited too!"
"Oh fxck, we're too late."
Patrick smacked his own head and Red Leader quietly groaned into his hands. Paul was a little confused.
"What?"
"Nothing! Nothing! It's fine, just checking if you fxcked up. Looks like you didn't, you can give Captain Patrick the papers."
"Yes, sir!"
Paul did as instructed and then he was dismissed. Red Leader sighed a tired sigh and faced Patrick.
"Now what sir?"
"We have to come up with a back up plan and pretend this one was going as planned."
"Who knows, maybe it was a you know, who did what."
"Possibly, but I doubt it. They get monitored and have week check ups."
