Once they had closed the door, both Gideon and Pacifica looked at the long hallway. It had dark purple coloured walls, with large pictures of families, candles that were flickering on GOLDEN coated metal. At the end of the hallway there were large stairs made out of marble and a polished wooden banister attached.
Tugging Gideon, whose mouth was agape, Pacifica trudged along to the stairs, and looked to the right of it where a pin board stood. It had all sorts of posters as well as news on it.
One large yellow poster read 'NEW STUDENTS, PLEASE GO TO THE KITCHEN, THERE WILL BE AN ASSIGNED PERSON TO YOU, THEY'LL SHOW YOU YOUR ROOM, AFTER THAT, PLEASE WAIT OUT ON THE FIELD, THANK YOU AND WELCOME TO FALLERS FORM!'.
Underneath that, in a smaller size was, 'THE KITCHEN WILL BE ON YOUR LEFT, AND THE FIRST RIGHT.' And with that, they both turned left, walked until they reached their first right. The hallways in the school were wide enough for five people to walk through them, and quite lavish with the decorations.
The kitchen was even better. Larger in size, and right next to it a doorway going to what Pacifica was assuming, the dining room for the students. There were two people standing, with shining badges that read 'Prefect'. Pacifica started to walk to the both of them.
One of them was tall, had blonde hair and black eyes. The other, the same height as Pacifica, had brown hair and grey eyes, and had quite a tan. The brown haired one was the pudgier out of the two Prefects.
"Hello! You must be the new students!" started the smaller of the two, "I'm Alexandria! I'll be showing you your rooms and, uh, I think its Gideon, right?" she asked hesitantly, looking at a flustered Gideon.
He nodded, swallowing slowly.
"Alright, so Al over here'll show you! Let's go Pacifica, I'll take some of your bags, if you don't mind," said Alexandria, flashing a bright grin and grabbing Pacifica's suitcase. The other Prefect, Al as she had said, was quite the opposite of Alexandria.
"Let's move on," he muttered, swiftly grabbing Gideon's bags and striding the other way with Gideon struggling to keep up with him.
"He'll warm up, he always does," Alexandria said in a soft tone to Pacifica, her eyes warm and glistening. Pacifica nodded, tearing her eyes from Gideon's back.
"Let's go this way, shall we?" questioned Alexandria, pointing to where Pacifica had entered and saw the massive staircase. "Y'know that humongous staircase you saw when you entered? Yeah, we have to go up that and through the right, that's where all the girls dorms are," grinned Alexandria.
"Okay, let's go," nodded Pacifica.
* * *
"So, this is your room," gestured Alexandria to the polished wooden door, which had the number 6. "I'm sorry that this is one of the first rooms, but this one was the only available one, so here's your keys, you have three and I have two spare ones," she flashed a ring with thousands of keys with color codes.
"I'll make yours blue, just like your blue eyes," she giggled, whipping out blue tape from her fanny bag that hung on her waist, "Your eyes are very pretty, did you know that?" she asked while she unlocked the door to the room.
"Uh, no, you too – I mean, thank you," stammered Pacifica, flustered by the compliment.
"Okay so, here it is, I'll see you outside, Pacifica!" grinned Alexandria. She turned around and shut the door softly. Pacifica could hear the soft footsteps fading away.
Sighing, she turned around to look at the room. It was quite beautiful. There was a small hallway and then a doorway on the right to a small kitchen, and a window leading to a small living room. On the right of that was a door that lead to a bedroom. Across the bedroom door was a bathroom.
The door across the kitchen was a small study room, with a wooden desk and lamp, and space Pacifica decided to put her suitcases after she emptied them into the drawer next to the bed.
After sticking drawings over the small board she was given, she laid out her pencil case and laptop onto the desk. Grabbing her keys, she quickly looked into the mirror to take a deep breath.
Her blonde hair was in a high ponytail, her eyes sparkling, and her cheeks flushed. She sighed and grabbed her phone and shut the door to her room and locked it. Hooking her keys to her pants and shoving her phone into her pockets, she rushed down the stairs and walked down the hallway to open the door.
The air cooled her flushed cheeks as she walked on the field until a familiar ding rung her pocket. Taking out her phone and checking it, she bumped into a back.
Muttered a sorry, she walked the other way until a hand grabbed her shoulder. She looked up to see Alexandria. The Prefect grinned at her and brought her to a bone crushing hug.
"Uh, hi," laughed Pacifica. Alexandria gleamed at her, her bright eyes nothing like thunder.
"So, I was just going to talk to you about the rules, stuff like that, okay? Al will be doing the same with Gideon, so don't you worry your pretty little head about it," babbled Alexandria.
"Okay," nodded Pacifica.
"So, there are a bunch of rules, and, okay, well I'm lying. There is a very thick book on rules, and if you've broken more than 3, then you have to read the entire book and compress into an essay, and how it concerns you, your mistakes, and the school.
Boring, I know, but hey, paying the price, am I right? Anyways, I'm digressing here. So, you must return to your dorm after 7, no later, because that's the curfew. Breakfast is at 6:00 am, lunch is at 12:00 pm, supper or whatever you call a little snack is at 4 pm. Dinner is at 9 pm,"rambled the girl.
"So, if the curfew is at 7, how is dinner at 9?"
"Essentially, you're expected to be doing your homework between the time of 7 until dinner," explained Alexandria.
"Oh, okay."
"Okay, so, you're allowed to have your phone, but usually you aren't, but now they've bent the rule because of modern times, however, there are cases of phones disappearing or exploding, so I'll let you think about that.
There'll be dorm room checks every two weeks, personal hygiene, and whatnot. You'd be surprised by how many people take this seriously. If any of your appliances break, just text me. There's a reception a little to the right of the kitchen, a lady sits there all the time.
Either her or me, basically. And you can go to her if you lose your keys, get locked out, something happens, just go to her, or me! Laundry is done on Mondays for your floor. The laundry room will be found on this map," said Alexandria, passing over a pamphlet to Pacifica.
"So, any things that can cause a safety hazard are heavily recommended not to be taken into the dorm room, but into your locker, which should be again, in your map. Common areas are basically a place where everyone hangs out, just make sure to clean after you use it.
Okay, I know that was a lot of rules, but I just compressed them into a compact form. There's more but, really important ones, I'd say, are to never get out of your dorm after 10, which is like, the latest you can stay out.
No going to the boys dormitories, vice versa. And, a personal rule is to not get any bad influences, okay, Pacifica?"
"Anything else? Like, any people I should stay away from?" joked Pacifica, nodding her head.
"Oh! I was just getting to that. Sure yeah, we've got people you can easily anger. Dipper Gleeful, the Head Prefect, a prodigy, mysterious, but I think he's insane. Probably. But who cares, he's hot!" giggled Alexandria, "His twin sister is Mabel Gleeful, they're both really, um, how do I say this.
Manipulative, and sneaky. Hmm, there's Candy's cousin, Acid, Candy is another Prefect, by the way, and Acid's pretty messed up, but he's nice, I guess, but still, stay away from him. Violence is usually his answer to anything. That or the cancer he has rolled up in his cigarettes.
That's pretty much it, I guess, so do try that! Now to describe them so you know to stay clear. Mabel Gleeful has brown hair, she always wears blue. Acid will always have a leather jacket, and a cigarette. He's a Japanese American, and his eyes are grey, like mine! His hair's black, though. Dipper, oh Dipper Gleeful, oh he's quite a specimen.
His hair is brown, his eyes are brown, he wears blue too, and - "
"Is he, or was he just outside?" asked Pacifica hesitantly, "Sorry for interrupting," she added.
"Yeah, he was, why?" said Alexandria innocently.
"Oh, just a gut feeling," said Pacifica, laughing nervously, while dread pooled in her stomach. If only the girl could have told her not to get on that devils bad side first, she wouldn't have opened her big mouth. Pacifica felt like a coward, but she knew she did the right thing. Standing up for Gideon was the right thing to do.
