"Phil, why is Alan with Alexandria, and the Pines?" said Dipper through grit teeth as he glared at the back of Pacifica's head. She turned around and their eyes met before Dipper looked away, clenching his jaw in an unknown flash of ANGER.
"Uh, sir, Alan is helping with the guide to, uh, what's his face? Gideon Pines, and pretty girl Pines," muttered Phil, looking through his phone. "Does pretty girl Pines have something to do with the books?"
"In a way, yes," nodded Dipper, marching over to the group he was looking at, with Acid mutely following and Phil left confused.
"So, are you going to like, interrogate her or something? For the books?" asked Phil, a calculated look evident on his face.
"No."
"Then why are we even going there?" said Phil, sighing.
"Man, don't question it," snorted Acid, punching the boy. Phil flinched and rubbed his arm as Acid raised his arms. "Sorry, didn't mean to hit you."
Phil muttered a 'sure' under his breath.
"But no, seriously, he's being so mean and rude, I'd seriously commit murder if he were the victim," the three heard the blonde say. Dipper suppressed a grin. Hey, she's talking about him, and not about that boy Alan, thought Dipper, weirdly pleased by the thought.
After their encounter, Dipper turned around with the two following them. He felt eyes burning the back of his head and he turned around to see Pacifica glaring at him. Dipper winked and saw Pacifica flush as the grim line of her mouth turned into a small 'o' and embarassement flush as she turned around as quickly as she could.
"If I weren't working with you, I'd say you're a jealous man and flirting with her," said Acid as he pretended to assess his nails.
"I am not jealous nor am I flirting," scoffed Dipper, the ridiculous smile slipping from his face. It threatened to come back when he thought about the recent events. Dumb smile, distracting him from his brooding look! Dipper thought angrily.
"This is probably the first and last time I'll ever agree with anything this walking disaster says, but yeah man, you literally looking like a freaking train engine blowing steam from that anger when you saw pretty girl Pines with surfer Al," smirked Phil, crossing his arms at Dipper as they stopped at the entrance of the school.
"Do you want me to beat both of you up?" snapped Dipper.
"No need to get your fancy pants in a twist," grinned Acid cheekily.
"Whatever, you two can go, we already discussed that I won't be needing you for the first month of the school. Just don't fail," sighed Dipper. Phil shrugged and turned to walk away. Acid was about to, not before Dipper grabbed his shoulder.
"What the frig do you want now?" groaned Acid.
"I think you should stop with your heart breaks, and be safe please, don't attend more of the fights, I can't keep up with 3 am calls to get you from a sketchy underground fighter club, I'm saying this from the worried friend perspective," said Dipper in an almost soft tone.
"It's been a long time since you joined me, how about one last time for the year?" said Acid, a wild look flashing in his eyes. A flare of desire, so to speak.
"Will it be the last one for the year? Or are you lying to me?"
"I am not, I promise."
"Text me the time, date and place," nodded Dipper, watching Acid walk away with a lazy smile. He clenched his jaw, pools of uneasiness settling in his stomach, knowing both of them would regret it. A tap on his shoulder whipped his head to the person, who was Cipher.
"First are the Gnomes, their want is their demise. Offer them a Queen, with pretty, green eyes," his cool breath fanned Dipper's face. Cipher was an inch taller, Dipper had to look up. His golden cat-like eyes flashed at Dipper and he grinned.
"So, I find the Gnomes?" stated Dipper in a bored tone.
"I just want the books, you nitwit," said Cipher through grit teeth, anger flaring inside him like an easily lit torch.
"Where the hell am I supposed to find them? Maybe if you'd help me I'd find them? But you can't even find the Author, so what am I to expect of you," laughed Dipper, yet emotions nowhere to be found in his voice.
"You're one to talk, greed ate you up and you signed up with the Devil, you're nothing but a hypocrite," spat Cipher, gripping Dipper's throat and walking away in seconds. Dipper rubbed his neck, eyes fleeting to check if anybody saw. Nobody did. Usually, nobody did.
"Hey Dipper," a sweet voice said from behind. Dipper turned around, raising an eyebrow at Mabel. She was wearing high waisted black shorts with black stockings, and a tucked in blue shirt with a black vest. Her hair flowed around her and a blue hairband fit snugly in it.
"Yes?"
"I want the boy."
"There are a lot of boys here, Mabel, and you want a lot of them," sighed Dipper, shaking his head, breathing heavily, and tried to hide the fact he was shaken up from the events that had just occurred.
"No, no I want the white haired boy. He seems, well, how do I put it? Exotic!" giggled Mabel in a lovestruck voice. "His name? Hmm, Pines? Gregory? No, George! No, no. Gabriel? Gavin? Givenchy? Gaston?"
"Gideon?"
"Gideon! Yes, him! I do want him, he's quite cute, bro, like his chubby pale cheeks, and oh! His brooding black eyes! Please make me meet him, he's so cute!" gushed Mabel, her gloved hands touching Dippers cheek and looking at him with pleading eyes.
"What about the girl?" he asked hesitantly. He didn't know why but he did not want Mabel to take a liking to the blonde girl. For two reasons of course, for Mabel's safety and because she was annoying. Nothing more, nothing less.
Are you sure?
Of course, he snapped back to his conscious. Of course it hasn't anything to do with how pretty she is and how Mabel would want her after the Gideon boy, he thought.
"Okay, let's go right now, then?"
"Are you serious? Ohmygosh, yes!" gasped Mabel, her eyes lighting up. Dipper's heart swelled. He'd do anything for Mabel to be happy. Anything and everything. There was no question to it. It just hurt how he'd know she wouldn't do the same. People labelled Mabel as selfish, and Dipper agreed but to an extent.
He'd still do everything for her. Just to make her happy.
"Let's go then," nodded Dipper, walking with Mabel as he saw fleeting glances of adoration and fear when students looked. Alexandria and Alan were nowhere to be seen, and Pacifica was listening to some story of Gideon's. The pudgy boys eyes widened when he saw Dipper and Mabel approaching.
"What? As if he'd come back, I'd punch him in the face, maybe stuff his pretty boy face in the ground," snorted Pacifica, sarcastically. Gideon gulped and turned Pacifica around to be impossibly close to Dipper. Dipper's nose was almost touching her nose as he looked down at her. Their chests almost touching. Pacifica sucked in a breath. "Oh frig."
"Good to know the feeling is mutual, babe, but calling me pretty? That's quite contradictory," he said, tracing his finger over her jaw. Dipper saw her cheeks flare and her eyes flutter. His heart was thundering but he made no effort in showing just how nervous she made him.
"Don't call me 'babe', you frigging worm. I freaking despise you, Gleeful, so can you go away," gritted out Pacifica, anger suddenly appearing in her voice. Dipper was amused. He snaked his arms around her waist and brought their chests to touch and tapped her back twice. Pacifica's mouth was agape and cheeks on fire as she pushed Dipper away.
"Get away from me!" she said, flustered.
"Okay, okay," laughed Dipper, flashing her a knee-weakening smile. Pacifica's cheeks turned ten shades darker as she closed her eyes shut.
"Gideon, we're leaving!" yelled Pacifica, turning around to see Mabel and Gideon not there. "What the - "
"I guess we get more time together, then, babe," a cool voice whispered in Pacifica's ear. She turned around and punched Dipper's arm. "Oh wow, you're not weak," he smiled, rubbing his arm.
"I'm going, I can't be around you because I'll go insane! I will literally commit murder before I start school!" shrieked Pacifica, pushing past Dipper and rushing to the entrance. Dipper stayed in the same spot, lazily smiling as he dug in his pocket to find his phone.
KnightInShiningArmor: Try not to smile too much, sweetheart. ;)
PazAction: how th did you get my number??
KnightInShiningArmor: So you admit to smiling because of me?
PazAction: holding a convo w/ you is actually useless, you probably took my phone and put it in bc you can't live without nurturing your ego (pretending to have loads of friends like, who'd wanna be friends w/ you???) and having loads of contacts like, get a life??
KnightInShiningArmor: K.
PazAction: is thAT IT I HATE YOU FIRST YOU'RE ANNOYING OUTSIDE AND THEN YOU REPLY WITH K'S, I'M GOING TO BLOCK YOU OKAY
Dipper grinned.
KnightInShiningArmor: You and I both know you'd never do that, love.
