Veil's Pov:

After telling Rin all about my errand and almost slipping up on my 'secret' adoptive uncle's name multiple times, I yawn tiredly and he decides to leave me alone. "Arigato for telling me about it, Veil. I'm glad you're back in one piece, but I'm gonna leave you alone now so you can sleep. Gomenasai for keeping you up so late." He says kinda sheepishly making me nod. "No you're fine. Arigato for asking, Rin. Goodnight!" I call softly making his tail wave in response as he leaves turning the light off behind him and closing the door as well.

Rin's Pov:

'Veil's errand sounded so amazing. I'm glad she wasn't taken advantage of though.' I think to myself, as I close her door behind me, to hear her shifting in her bed for sleep. Sighing through my nose a little, I head to me and my brother's shared room to follow her example and go to sleep. 'Veil has helped me so much with school and everything that I actually want to go and try to pay attention and do the work. Same with Cram School she's actually helping me further my goal so I can pass the stupid final exams.' I think to myself, opening the door to my shared room and closing it softly behind me, so I don't wake my already peacefully sleeping twin. Lightly I make my way to my bed and Kuro spots me from the window and softly pads over to my bed to cuddle with me as I sleep. 'There you are, Rin. I was wondering when you were going to come sleep.' Kuro thinks to me lightly and I pet the top of his head gently making him purr very quietly. 'I was just visiting with Veil, Kuro.' I think back to the familiar. He just continues to softly purr and I settle down for sleep with Kuro curling up on my chest.

(TimeSkip: 6:58 a.m. 2 mornings later)
Veil's Pov:

Groggily I start to open my eyes not amused by the interruption of my dream. My alarm clock quietly rings and I place my hand on the thing to shut it off. I yawn tiredly, having stayed up later than usual, to clean the cafeteria, and things for the party today. 'Kuso, who knew putting up streamers would take so damn long.' I think to myself, before sighing lightly, and getting up. My tail flicks behind me as I sit up on my bed before actually getting up to move the Moonlilly to the space behind my bed so the morning sun doesn't wilt it. Sighing softly I stretch out my limbs and effectively pop my back making me hum lightly. Smiling to myself I grab my watering can that I refilled last night and water my plants happily. Humming to myself I close my eyes as I think about how today will go. Giving a light yawn in the darkness I bring my hand to my mouth and move to my closet. My tail flicks behind me and I open my eyes to get ready for school. Easily I take out a clean shirt and jeans, having given up on being one of the only girls that at least tries to be decent with the skirt length. 'Whatever, Papa knows I hate skirts anyway.' I think to myself before lightly brushing my reddish black hair and applying deodorant to my armpits. My tail twitches in pent up excitement before I change into a pair of smoky grey skinny jeans that are surprisingly flexible and a white and grey stripped long sleeve shirt. Giving my tail a quick glance I click my tongue at it before combing through the smooth, dark fur there. Grabbing my messenger bag for school I leave my room to go to the bathroom and whatnot. Walking down the hall I give the twin's door a medium berth and continue to the stairs. Grinning I slide down the railing and hop off towards the bathroom to do my business and wash my face along with my hands of course. 'Rin and Yukio should be awake by the time I get back to the big sink.' I think to myself easily going into the the girl's bathroom and doing my business. Afterwards I flush the toilet and wash my hands before moving to my face, further waking myself up. Blinking after I dry my face off I leave the bathroom and move back to the big sink to brush my sharp teeth. Just as I arrive Rin steps off the stairs and his ebony tail waves a greeting. "Good morning, Veil." He says kinda groggily making my own tail wag lightly. "Good morning, Rin. Sleep well?" I ask calmly as I start on brushing my teeth. "I slept fine, did you?" He asks in return making my tail sway lightly. "It was nice." I reply calmly as he starts on his own dental hygiene. We brush our teeth in relative silence before finishing the routine and easily going to the cafeteria. "So why don't you wear your school uniform anymore?" Rin asks curiously. "Hm, oh that. Well one it's easier for me to move around without having to worry about that damn skirt flapping everywhere and a lot of the girls at the school seem to not notice how short the skirts really are." I reply lightly before shrugging. "That and I don't really like skirts in the first place. Next year I'm going to see if I can get a girl version of the guys uniform." I say with a grin. Rin blinks before looking slightly away in thought. "I guess that makes sense, but I hope you know how to tie a tie." He comments with a light smirk making me huff casually. "Of course. It's not that hard I used to wear one of my dad's ties sometimes when I lived in Gehenna. I dunno he has one tie that he wears all the time and a few that are just there." I start wistfully ignoring the look I'm getting from Rin. "It's weird but he let me. Though he warned me away from the one he usually wears so I didn't ruin it, given that I was a child I understood why. He asked me once why I liked wearing his ties and I replied. 'Because I like the way they are worn and it reminds me of you especially when your gone doing things in your level of Gehenna.'" I continue a small smile on my lips as I reminisce about how close me and my adoptive father were to each other. Rin gives a soft hum beside me as we reach the cafeteria having been walking rather slowly. I glance at him the smile still printed on my face before I notice the food that Ukobach had made for us and I thank him easily sitting next to Rin as I do everyday. My tail flicks lightly behind me and Rin's gives a every now and then twitch. Starting to eat I notice the absence of the younger twin but spot his tray at the little counter thing. "Hm, why was Yukio in such a hurry this morning?" I ask the elder brother of the two curiously making him think for a second. "Oh yeah, he did say he had another meeting this morning, last night. He should be done by second or third period." Rin says calmly making me hum softly to myself. "I hope everything's alright." I say softly making Rin snort lightly. "I'm sure everything's fine. It's just a meeting anyway." Rin says calmly and I hesitate before giving a hum in agreement. "Yeah, I'm sure you're right." I say in agreement but continue to feel slightly unsettled nonetheless. Rin waves off my fretting with a wave of his tail before we finish up our breakfast and head out for school. Tails hidden we leave the dormitory and move towards the regular school building.
(TimeSkip: 3:30 p.m. right after school)
Lightly I follow Rin to our shared dormitory building and I walk soundly next to him the Kurikara still slung on his shoulder. Fighting the urge to unwrap my tail from my waist and wag it I grin at the half-demon male next to me. He returns the grin with one of his own before we make it to the entrance of our dormitory. I take off my shoes inside and see everyone else did the same. 'Nice.' I think to myself unwrapping my tail from my waist and waving it happily. Rin let's his tail out as well and we both make our way to the cafeteria. Seeing everyone there I grin lightly before Rin goes into the kitchen to make and finish the cake. Everyone chats leisurely with each other and I notice Konekomaru is missing meaning he's in the kitchen helping Rin with the cake. Standing a little away like Yukio we both kinda resign to watching the others be goofy and have fun. Laughing lightly to myself I earn an amused grin from Yukio, but neither of us say anything. After a few more minutes we are all rewarded with Rin rolling the cake out of the kitchen with Konekomaru making sure the cake is fine. Once out I give a light smile before Rin trips and the cake flies for a second. 'Oh dear.' I think but don't move. Konekomaru does and catches the cake just in time before it splatters all over the floor. 'Nice, that was almost messy.' I think before going over to the others along with Yukio. We all blow out the candles and receive a piece of cake. Giving my thanks to the two who made it and the one who gave me a piece I retreat a little ways away from the others feeling like a spare person in the room. Though my loneliness is not to be since Ukobach joins me. I let him have half my piece which he accepts happily. "How have you been, Ukobach." I ask my uncle's familiar curiously and receive a shrug in response. 'I've been fine. How have you been, Veil?' He asks in return making me tilt my head a little. "I've been good. Mephisto had me run an errand, and it seems I carried it out with little resistance." I reply calmly. The familiar nods before bidding me a light farewell and going back to the kitchen. I smile lightly at him and finish the rest of my cake. After a little while we all get a little gift from a black bag. Snorting lightly in amusement at my gift, I put on the black cat ears my tail flicking lightly behind me. 'It's fitting I guess.' I think to myself calmly and Shiemi coos at the way I look with them on making a light pink dust my cheeks. "Aw~, Veil-chan, you look so kawaii." She says and I look away not wanting to make eye contact. "Ar-arigato, Shiemi." I reply sheepishly. She just grins at me oblivious to my nervousness. Looking about the others I watch as Shiemi goes to talk to Yukio and I spot Rin being goofy making me laugh a bit. I move a little further away only to stop as Yukio calls urgently to Rin and says something about their childhood home having been attacked. Easily I take off the cat ears I had on and place them in a random cranny nearby before going for my shoes. Yukio and Rin soon are out of the cafeteria and putting on their shoes as well. Yukio looks at me. "Where are you going?" "I'm going with you and there is no persuading me otherwise." I reply easily and follow Rin out, his Kurikara draped to his shoulder. Stopping for a second I pull Rin back in. "On second thought lets just do this." I say before using my secret key on the door to get there. "How did you do that?" Yukio asks suspiciously. "Don't worry about it." I reply lightly shoving him and Rin through the door so I can close it and shut off the connection. Yukio eyes me suspiciously, but Rin says something about me being a messenger girl for the clown and Yukio calms a bit. Seeing the damage I pause in my footsteps behind them but Rin and Yukio only move forward to the cacoons on the ground. Moving to the side a bit I look at the web left behind. 'It's obviously demon work. But what akuma did this it's not like any kind I know of or have seen.' My tail flicks behind me as I ponder the possible demons. 'I wonder if papa would know anything about this.' I think to myself. Reaching up I try to pull a chunk of it off only for it to resist being stronger than my force. My tail flicks and I give a light growl in frustration before using my violet flames to cut off a piece just before the rest of it goes up in aoi flames. Blinking I wrap the chunk up on itself and shove it in my pocket. Looking back I see the cacoons gone and replaced with exorcists. Blinking I let my tail flick behind me and move over to Rin. His tail wags lightly in happiness, before stilling making mine flick curiously before I gain the attention of the exorcists. Negative attention. Seeing this I wrap my tail around my waist and hide behind the twins. "What is that akuma doing here!" One of them exclaims before Rin actually pipes up. "She's an Exwire at True Cross academy." He says easily making the exorcists look at Yukio for confirmation. He simply nods. "She's one of my best students. And she makes just as good grades as I do." He states calmly pushing at his glasses a bit. They give sceptical glances before accepting the information and filling us in on what happened here and to them.
(TimeSkip: a few explanations later)
Looking through a window at another part of the building I sigh my tail giving a light flick. "Alright, Shura, Yukio. I have to give a report to Sir Mephisto so I ask your permission to leave." I say calmly putting out my correctly lit candles. Rin blinks at me but Yukio and Shura give their consent for my request. I nod and move towards the door. "Arigato." I say lightly and take my leave to my uncle's office. Closing the door behind me I easily spot my uncle in his throne of a chair behind his desk fingers laced together and a green hamster on his shoulder. "Yes, dear?" He asks and I pull the strand of web out of my pocket. "I came to give a report and ask if you knew what could possibly make this." I say making him frown slightly before taking the piece and gesturing for me to proceed and give the report. After giving my report he looks at me then at the web. "That's interesting." He says lightly. I wait calmly for my uncle to inspect the web. He stretches it for a second as though going to rip it but the web doesn't budge. He looks it over again. "Did you burn it?" He asks and I give a sheepish nod. "Hai, I couldn't tear it." I reply lightly making my uncle nod. He sighs after a little bit. "Do you know what could have made it?" I ask curiously only for him to sweep his slightly slitted forest green eyes at me. My eyes widen slightly and I fall silent as I wait for him to speak. "I do not my dear." He says calmly making me release an internal sigh. 'I thought he was angry for a second.' I think to myself relieved. Keeping my tail curled lightly around my waist I move over to my uncle's side and inspect the piece of web with him.

Meanwhile Rin's Pov:

Concentrating hard on the candles set infront of me I try to light the two on the outside but leave the me in the middle. After having tried three other times in the past few minutes I finally manage to do the seemingly simple task. 'I wonder how Veil is doing.' I think to myself curiously before blowing out my candles. "How long does Veil take to give a report?" Shura asks grumpily. Shrugging at the thought of the other akuma I blink and dismiss the thought before I get a call on my phone from one of the guys.

Veil's Pov:

Sneezing lightly I get a look from my uncle since I am right beside him. "I think somebody's talking about me." I say slightly jokingly making my uncle huff lightly in amusement. Giving a light grin at him I blink as I receive a text. -Rin: I can control my flames!!- -That's great Rin!! XD- I reply easily smiling a little. That is before I get another one telling me to go to the school. Like now. That wipes the slight grin off my face. "Hey, Sir Mephisto." "Hm~, hai." "I ask permission to leave." I say lightly pocketing my phone. He gives me a glance and nods his consent. "Permission granted." He says easily and I make long, quick strides to the door. Using my key I exit at the regular school building. Finding myself outside in the darkness that is night time I blink and easily adjust to the darkness. Looking up at the building I see light and a broken window. 'That's ominous.' I think lightly to myself moving away from the tall building so I can see inside the room through the window. Sighing softly my ebony red tail keeps me balanced as I stretch backwards to get a better look. Though right as I get a perfect view of the inside something or rather some one bursts out of the window and rushes past. Surprised I fall back a bit and tense up to keep myself from falling. Steady I look towards the person only to see Rin also come out the window. He tackles me to the ground making me hiss. "Baka, it's only me!!" I shout making him give me a glance before abruptly getting off of me. "Gomen, Veil." He says before looking around. "Did you see which way he went?" He asks me urgently making me nod. "I'm pretty sure I know who you're talking about. Hai I do." I say calmly before turning only to face my adoptive uncle and his hamster. "Huh?" I ask making him grin for a second before shooting off an alarm. "Eins, Zwei, Drei." He says casting out the alarm or signal rather. No sooner does he do that do other exorcists appear. "Sir Mephisto Pheles you are under arrest for illegal experimental life experiments." Says one making me blink before my uncle sweeps me to his side. 'This is about to turn ugly for you, Veil.' He says to me making my tail twitch. I open my mouth to ask before the same exorcist pipes up. "Veil Hatori, you are also under arrest for being affiliated with Sir Mephisto Pheles." He says calmly, making Rin grab the man's shoulder. "What do you mean Veil's only his errand girl." Rin reasons making the exorcist smirk. "Oh, you don't know. This akuma-" "Don't you dare." I growl violently my violet flames easily taking a good bit of his trench coat around his neck out and steadily continuing nearer. Glaring I silently dare him to say more. His eyes widen in shock and his open jaw quickly snaps shut. "That's better." I say softly and my tail flicks lightly behind me. I put out my violet flames easily, before my uncle drags me with him away from the exorcists and into the forest for slight retreat for now. He snorts at my antics. "He's going to find out eventually." He starts lightly. "Eventually, Papa. But not today." I say quietly so only be can hear me. He smirks and twirls his pink umbrella around as we are chased down by exorcists. Easily keeping just out of their reach. I smirk at a sudden thought. 'This is going to be a show no one will want to miss.' I think to myself knowing how my uncle is.

(TimeSkip: BedTime)
Rin's Pov:

'What did that guy mean?' I ask myself staring up at the darkened ceiling from my bed.
(Flashback)
The exorcist smirks at me like a cat that just caught the canary. "Oh, you don't know. This akuma-" "Don't you dare." Veil growls angrily cutting him off and glaring at the exorcist. Challenging him to say any more as her violet flames flick near his neck.
(End Flashback)
'What is she hiding? What doesn't she want me to know?' I ask myself getting frustrated. "Yukio left on some important thing and won't be back for awhile." I say to myself before getting up. Sighing I leave my room and go into Veil's. Spotting the flowers I give a small smile and look for her watering can. "When she comes back her flowers should still be alive." I say to myself softly finding the can and starting to water them. Spotting the Moonlilly I grin knowing how proud of it she is. 'Who would have guessed she had a soft spot for flowers.' I think to myself amused gently watering it. My ebony tail flicks lightly behind me as I water the flowers in her room. An amused smile graces my features for a little while before I stop watering her flowers and head back to my own room. "That should do it for tonight." I think to myself before moving to my bed for some sleep. Curling up on my bed I fall asleep and let the darkness wash over me.
