WE WON

Running was not her strong suit, Elizabeth quickly realised as she found herself slowly falling behind Steve who ran faster than she could even process. In front of them, Thanos' army of aliens and creatures that she couldn't even begin to name were headed their way with their variety of weapons raised.

"Sam," Elizabeth called in through her earpiece when she felt herself beginning to grow tired too quickly to her liking. "I'm gonna need a ride." If there was anything she knew, was that she should save her energy for her powers. Elizabeth would be no use if she could run a mile but not be able to bring someone unconscious.

"I see you," was Sam's response before she felt a pair of arms pick her up from above. Her heart hammered for a minute before she recognised Sam's voice from outside of her comms.

Sam looked down Elizabeth with a smile just as Elizabeth looked back up at him. "Hey there bird boy," Elizabeth smirked at Sam for the first time in five long years. "This still isn't any better than the last time we did this," Elizabeth informed him as she raised the volume of her voice over the sound of the wind.

"I don't doubt it," Sam answered as Elizabeth looked down as they soared over both armies in the sky. "Where do you wanna be dropped off?" Sam asked her.

She scanned the grounds below them as she thought out her decision. "Just down there." Elizabeth jutted her chin down to a specific part on the ground where she could see the heads of two familiar figures.

"Copy that," Sam nodded before flying down with Elizabeth in his arms. "Be careful down there," he instructed her.

"Always am," Elizabeth replied just as Sam released her from his arms, not before he managed a loud, 'that's a lie.'

The wind rushed through her hair as she fell through the sky. Elizabeth eyed her target below her before dropping onto the shoulders of a member of Thanos' army. The alien struggled under her weight as she wrapped both hands around its head.

She pressed her hands to both sides of its head before twisting it to the side. She felt its neck snap before the body fell limp to the ground. Elizabeth leaned forward just in time for her to fall into a crouch on the back of the dead body.

Standing up from her crouch, Elizabeth extended her left hand and a group of outriders flew back as she sent a blast of energy their way. She turned back to face the two in front of her.

"Fancy seeing you here," Elizabeth joked at her brothers with a smile. Luke and Leo both looked at their sister with a shake of their heads before turning back to fight off the circle of Thanos' army that came up to the three of them.

As the three of them held their own against the hoard of strange looking creatures, there was light talk between the three. "Just like when we were kids again, huh?" Leo asked the two as he touched the side of an alien with the tip of his fingers, making a small flame that soon consumed its whole body. "Me doing most of the work," he continued on confidently.

"You and I remember our childhood very differently," Luke replied as he tore an arm clean off a Chitauri and smacking it with its own limb.

"Yeah," Elizabeth  agreed as she put a whole group of Chitauri unconscious, making them all fall to the ground. "Cause I kicked both your asses," she stated as her eyes locked onto an outrider coming for Luke from behind.

She tilted her head and the creature froze in its spot, spasming slightly from the pain. Luke turned around to see its fangs bared and with a groan of disgust, ripped the head of the outrider clean off. The body fell to the ground as Elizabeth looked at her eldest brother smugly.

"You're welcome," she commented with a smirk. Luke rolled his eyes at her before tossing the bloodied head in his hands towards her. It hit her abdomen lightly, spraying unusually coloured blood onto her suit.

Elizabeth glared at her brother and made a move to make some sort of snarky remark but the voices in their earpiece cut her off. "Steve!" Natasha called out and Elizabeth heard her pants as she ran. "What do you want me to do with this damn thing?" She asked, the thing, referring to the gauntlet.

"Get those stones as far away as possible,"  Steve replied and Elizabeth looked around and saw him on the other side of the battlefield as he fought beside Thor.

"No," Bruce protested. "We need to get them back where they came from."

"No way to get them back," Tony said as Elizabeth stabbed at whatever came up to her. "Thanos destroyed the quantum tunnel."

"Hold on." Scott's voice said before the sound of a van honking echoed across the land. "That wasn't our only time machine."

Elizabeth hopped up onto a nearby pile of debris in an attempt to see the source of the sound. "Anyone see an ugly brown van out there?" She asked as her eyes squinted to see further.

"Yes," an unfamiliar voice answered her, startling Elizabeth. The voice was female and smooth in a way that made Elizabeth want to be friends with them. "But you're not gonna like where it's parked."

"First of all, hi." Elizabeth greeted the new voice meekly, earning a light laugh and a 'hello' in return.

"Scott," Steve's voice came on over the radio once more. "How long do you need to get that thing working?"

Scott sounded as if he mumbled to himself before answering Steve. "Maybe ten minutes?"

"You worry about getting it started. We'll get the stones to you," Steve told Scott. "Lizzie?" Steve questioned and Elizabeth nodded her head.

"On it," she assured the man. "Natasha, I'm coming to you," Elizabeth told the redhead.

Jumping off the pile of debris, Elizabeth looked at her brothers. "You guys gonna be okay here?" She asked the two of them.

"Duh," Leo answered somewhat hurt at her for even asking those words. "We're not five, go."

She rolled her eyes one last time at the two before looking up at the sky. "Sam," Elizabeth said into the comms expectantly. There was an exaggerated groan in response and Elizabeth took that as her cue.

Raising one hand, she waved at her brothers just as she felt Sam grabbed her hand in his before lifting her off the ground. Sam held onto her hand tightly as they flew through the sky once more. "Get me to Natasha," Elizabeth informed him as she scanned the many faces below for any sign of the redhead.

"I am not a taxi driver," Sam grumbled but carried her around nonetheless.

"If you were, you wouldn't be getting any tips," She retorted. Her eyes spotted the head of red hair below her and she alerted Sam. "Just drop me off down here."

Sam laughed half-heartedly. "You don't have to tell me twice," he said somewhat happily before releasing his grip on her hand.

"Wait-" She had begun to protest but felt her stomach drop as she fell 50 feet through the air, a much taller height than before. Thankfully, she landed in a crouch right on top of the back of a member of Thanos' army.

Its bones broke underneath the impact of her fall with a loud crack. "That's one way to do it," Elizabeth heard Natasha say with a shrug as she looked up to face the redhead.

"It's kinda like pass the parcel don't you think?" Elizabeth said as she took the gauntlet from Natasha's outstretched hand, both of them breathing heavily.

Natasha was about to answer her but her eyes widened when she saw Thanos come up from behind Elizabeth. Elizabeth saw her reaction and reluctantly turned around to face him. She readied herself once more and rolled her shoulders back.

However before Thanos could get close enough, Wanda dropped down from the sky between the two, her eyes a very unnatural bright red. Thanos stopped for a second in surprise at Wanda, eyeing the red glow that emitted from both her hands.

Wanda looked back at Elizabeth as she spoke. "You had your turn, now it's mine," she told her determinedly. "Go," she added to both Elizabeth and Natasha. Needless to say the two didn't need to be told twice.

The two of them split up with small nods in the others direction. Elizabeth went ahead with the gauntlet in the direction of Scott's van, her mind focused on putting whatever came up to her unconscious.

She thought she was doing particularly well until she felt something grab the back of her neck. She was pulled backward harshly but made sure to keep a firm grip on the gauntlet in her arms. Struggling against the grip around her neck, she tried to make whatever was holding her go unconscious or even feel some form of pain but nothing happened.

That made her frown for a second before she quickly regained herself. Elizabeth released one hand from the gauntlet and pressed it to the side of her opponent. Her hands heated up and a blast of energy fired out of her palms, sending her opponent flying back as they released their grip on her.

She landed swiftly on her feet and looked at her opponent. She saw a woman -who was definitely not human- standing before her with pale purple skin. This woman was something new, she noted to herself. Elizabeth glared at her tall and lanky opponent who held a long serrated blade in one hand.

"You are trying to control my emotions," her opponent said in a gravelly voice with a hint of mocking at the edge of their words. "It's a shame I don't have anything."

"Yeah, that's just messed up," Elizabeth replied, in no mood to talk. She stretched out her free hand and sent a blast of energy her opponents way only to have her deflect it with her sword. Every single time after that, the woman would deflect it no matter how hard Elizabeth tried.

Getting frustrated, she clenched her teeth together before taking her knife out of its holster on her suit. She found it somewhat ridiculous as she held onto her knife with one hand and the gauntlet with the other as she charged up to her opponent.

As she ran up to the woman, she swung her sword out towards Elizabeth's neck just as she slid to the ground just in time. She slid past her opponents ankles and lifted her sword to cut a long line across her leg. Elizabeth stood up behind her with her knife in hand as the woman turned around to face her with a growl.

Suddenly, the woman ran up to her faster than she could even see and knocked Elizabeth down to the hard ground. The impact made her lose her grip on the gauntlet and the object rolled off to the side, hidden under a pile of rocks.

The woman sat with her knees on both sides of Elizabeth's body. The woman gave Elizabeth a wicked smile before sending a hard punch to her head. Elizabeth groaned in pain and raised both her hands to fight back but the woman pinned both her hands beside her head.

Whether the woman didn't know that the gauntlet had rolled off, or she was just sadistic enough to want to take her time with Elizabeth, she didn't know. But she was also somewhat thankful for it as she bid her time, waiting for someone who was actually on her side to show up.

Which had seemed to be the correct move, she thought to herself when she saw T'Challa out of the corner of her eye. T'Challa looked at her carefully as the woman whispered how she was going to tear Elizabeth apart just for the fun of it.

She nearly gagged at how movie like it was but she restrained herself. Elizabeth looked at T'Challa and slowly moved her eyes to where the gauntlet was hidden, telling him where it was. He followed her line of sight and stopped when he saw the gauntlet.

He looked back at her with a tilted head, silently asking if she needed help. She tried not to make it obvious when she shook her head but her opponent saw the slight movement. She looked behind her and saw T'Challa halfway toward the gauntlet.

"Take it!" Elizabeth exclaimed quickly and before her opponent could do anything, T'Challa had grabbed the gauntlet and sprinted far off.

Elizabeth managed to sigh in relief before remembering the situation she was in. She looked back up to see the furious face of her opponent inches away from her own. The woman had opened her mouth to speak but Elizabeth was quicker.

With as much strength as she could muster, Elizabeth flipped her opponent around so that they had swapped positions. Elizabeth looked down on her opponent with a smirk at her shocked face.

Elizabeth didn't bother saying anything as she recoiled her arm back and lodged her knife into the center of her opponents forehead. The body below her spasm slightly and for extra measure, Elizabeth twisted her knife 360 degrees as it was still stuck inside the womans head. That stopped the spasming.

But when Elizabeth sat back and looked up at the sky, she saw as a small missiles starting to rain down on them, one in particular headed right for where she sat. "Fucking hell," Elizabeth cursed as she ran over to take some shelter by the large boulders.

She hugged her knees against her chest while her hands went behind her ears to block out the noise. It wasn't even five minutes before the bombing stopped and the dust settled.

Slowly, Elizabeth creeped out of her hideout and looked up and saw a blur of bright yellow light headed right for Thanos' ships in the sky. Elizabeth couldn't help the smug smile on her face as she watched Carol Danvers tear right through Thanos' ships, destroying them completely.

The ships fell to the ground, causing the ground beneath them to shake slightly. "Danvers," Steve's tired voice came over the radio. "We need an assist here."

"Copy that," was Carol's response before she flew down to where Elizabeth assumed the gauntlet was. Carol was too far away for Elizabeth to see what was going on but she was definitely talking to somebody.

Elizabeth sighed when she saw the army that was gearing up to go against Carol as she took the gauntlet from someone off the ground. "I just can't catch a break," Elizabeth muttered in distaste before she began to sprint up towards them.

As Elizabeth made her way over to Carol, she saw as the blonde was soon joined by Wanda, Okoye and Natasha. The three off them nodding to Carol curtly before Nebula, Pepper and Shuri joined in along with three other women who Elizabeth really didn't know the names of.

"Wait!" Elizabeth waved to them as she came to stand beside Nebula. She rested her hands on her knees and breathed heavily as they all looked at her expectantly. "You guys were seriously gonna go all Spice Girls without me?" She asked all of the women around her.

"What?" A woman on a pegasus asked and Elizabeth recognised her voice from earlier.

Elizabeth was about to explain that they were only the most famous group of all time but decided against it when she saw Thanos' army nearing them. "I'll explain later." Elizabeth waved the question away with her hand before turning to Natasha. "After you." Elizabeth held her arm out towards the army approaching them, telling her to make the first move.

The rest of the group nodded, waiting for Natasha. Natasha smiled at Elizabeth before running up ahead first with both her guns raised. Then the rest of them followed her lead, but Elizabeth continued in a slow jog, not exactly excited to see some more aliens that wanted to kill her.

"We should have sleepovers!" A woman with antennas and large eyes said happily as she ran up beside Elizabeth.

"I like you're thinking, lady." Elizabeth agreed, causing the woman to smile widely at her.

***

Elizabeth cursed herself for forgetting to pick her knife back up from where she left it embedded in the head of the purple woman from before. She promised herself she'd go back and retrieve the weapon.

She was fighting off a small group of outriders and had managed to fall flat on her back. It was safe to say, five years weren't enough time apart from those space dogs. Looking up she saw one of the outriders get on top of her and bare its large teeth near her face.

Pressing the both of her hands to the side of its face, she used her energy and sent a blast through both her hands. The outriders head burst in a mix of blood and skin, most of which got onto her face, making her gag slightly.

It slumped down onto her lifelessly, making the air get knocked out of her lungs. Groaning, she pushed it off her quickly. She wiped at her face with the back of her arm as she laid on the ground, trying to catch her breath.

From behind her, she heard another outrider growl at her. She tilted her head back off the ground and looked behind her to see one of the things approaching her. She quickly rolled onto her stomach before standing upright.

Elizabeth was about to send a blast of energy toward the creature but was shocked when a round of bullets lodged itself into the alien from behind. Tilting her head at it, she watched as the alien slowly fell to the ground face first to reveal a person standing behind it.

Bucky Barnes stood there with his gun raised and pointed around her carefully, ready for the next threat. When he saw that they had a small opening of peace, he lowered the weapon and looked at Elizabeth carefully.

To Elizabeth he looked exactly the same as she had last saw him. Same long hair and same bright blue eyes. He even wore the same clothes that she had last seen him in.

But to Bucky however, she looked like an entirely different person. Her eyes looked tired and her hair had grown out so it now lay past her chest in a braid. And upon closer inspection, she looked older, as if the years had worn her down. Yet deep down, he still knew that she was the same Elizabeth he had fallen in love with.

Which it had. To her it had been five years since she'd last seen him. Since she'd last touched him. But through his eyes, it had been no more than a few hours since she held him in her hands as he disappeared. But now, he was back, and he was standing right in front of her.

Elizabeth gasped when she caught his eye, looking at her expectantly. "Are you, are you really here?" She asked him shakily. She took a step toward him and held her hand out to touch the side of his face. Just like she had tried to right before he vanished in front of her eyes.

He smiled at her warmly and Elizabeth felt her eyes water. Bucky leaned forward to bring his face to rest against the palm of her hand. She let out a laugh of disbelief as she stroked her thumb back and forth against his jaw.

"I'm here, dollface," he told her with a smile as a tear rolled down her cheek.

Without another word she pulled him into her and hugged him as tightly as she could, scared that if she let go he'd turn to dust again. "You're back," she muttered as she buried her face into his shoulder. "I can't believe it, you're back," she repeated before they pulled apart.

Bucky held her face in his hands carefully as he stared into her eyes. Not wanting to waste anymore time, he pulled her in for a long kiss. They had to make up for lost time anyway.

"I love you," Elizabeth said as he rested his head against herd. "So, so much," she added with a tearful smile.

"I love you too," he told her with a loving gaze. She looked up at him in a daze, still not believing that he was finally back home, with her.

From a few feet away from the two, she heard someone clear their throat dramatically. They pulled apart to see Sam fighting off two aliens at once. Both of his arms were raised as he shot at them. "And I would love it if you two would quit making out and come help," he butted in.

Elizabeth blushed furiously at her lack of awareness, completely forgetting that they had a job to do. It was a complete miracle that they weren't torn apart during their whole reunion. "Right," Elizabeth nodded before stepping away from Bucky, much to both their minds protest.

"Don't go too far," Bucky told her as Elizabeth made a move to run up to a member of Thanos' army. He raised his sniper and shot at anything that wasn't human around them.

Elizabeth smiled at him just as she stabbed an oncoming outrider right in its neck. Its body fell to the floor with a thud. "We wouldn't want that now, would we?" She replied before running up and kissing his cheek sweetly.

Bucky watched with a smile on his face as Elizabeth  charged ahead and stabbed at whatever came within two feet of her. He made sure to keep a close eye on her after that, making sure she wasn't in any immediate danger.

They continued on like that, Elizabeth fighting off whatever she could find while Bucky followed her from behind. He always made sure to check around them in case of any immediate danger, and in the rare occurrences that they didn't Bucky didn't hesitate to pull Elizabeth in for a kiss. The two of them drove Sam wild, which they both found amusing.

Elizabeth had moved to send a punch through a chitauri only to find that her hand went straight through the creature. Her face scrunched up in confusion until she realised that they were slowly falling apart in ash and dust, just like how half the universe did five years ago.

The ash and dust flew with the wind as all around them, Thanos' army began to disintegrate one by one. Elizabeth and Bucky both shared shocked expressions as they looked at their surroundings. Elizabeth tried to make sure that one titan in particular was dying before she could start her mini celebration.

When she saw the purple figure of Thanos sitting on a boulder as he disintegrated, Elizabeth could finally turn to Bucky with a grin on her face. He returned her grin before extending his right arm towards her.

"We did it! We won!" Elizabeth exclaimed happily as she jumped into Bucky's arms. He caught her with his flesh arm around her waist as he buried his face into her shoulder. He laughed with her in disbelief before setting her back down on the ground.

She was elated at the fact that they had won. It didn't matter that it had taken five years, they had won in the end. Elizabeth was pure joy until she saw how exactly they won when she turned around.

Her breath caught in her throat when ten yards away from her, Tony staggered over to slump by a pile of debris. Elizabeth watched sadly as he leaned his head back with a gasp. The right side of his Iron Man suit was completely destroyed, along with most of his body. The side of his face was charred and painful just to look at.

Elizabeth still didn't move when she saw Pepper rush up to her dying husband. Rhodey followed behind her and soon enough there was a small crowd gathered around Tony. He was still breathing, they all saw from the heavy rise and fall of his chest. But the light where his heart should be was flickering and slowly dimming.

A hand on her shoulder made Elizabeth turn to face Bucky with tears in her eyes. He put on a sad smile for her before placing his arm across her shoulders. Elizabeth leaned her head on his shoulder as she watched Rhodey place his hand on Tony's shoulder.

She decided to make his parting as comfortable as possible. So Elizabeth made sure to take away any traced of pain from him and placed it onto herself. But she didn't even flinch at the burn on the right side of her body.

Tony could always sense when she was using her powers on him so Elizabeth shouldn't have been surprised when his face turned to the side slowly and he met her eyes. She held eye contact with the dying man and nodded her head at him as a goodbye. She guessed from the crinkles in the corner of his eyes that he tried to smile back at her despite his mouth barely moving.

Smiling back at him, Elizabeth only let her smile drop when Tony turned back to look at Pepper. She muttered some words to Tony, most of them too far off in the distance for her to hear. But she managed to catch the end of their one sided conversation.

"You're gonna be okay," Elizabeth heard Pepper say faintly with a heavy heart. "You can rest now." There were a few more silent moments where Elizabeth could still feel something from Tony. But then ever so slowly, she felt him drift off.
