nineteen | worries
Astrid mindlessly traced shapes on Bellamy's chest as she thought about what was happening in camp. This was the second day after they blew up the bridge and no grounder was in sight. Nothing. That made Astrid anxious, knowing that if they were coming, they weren't going to hesitate in slaughtering them all.
"What are you thinking about?" Bellamy whispered as his grip tightened slightly on her hips and his lips gosted her temple.
Astrid sighed. "Nothing, it's just-" she paused as she felt Bellamy's stare on her. "I'm worried. And I'm scared. I'm scared for my friends and for every single kid in this camp and I'm scared for you."
Bellamy put a finger under her chin and lifted her head in order for her too meet his eyes. His brown eyes were soft and understanding and Astrid had never felt so loved since her father died. Yes, her friends loved her but this was a different kind of love.
"Listen to me," he said firmly but softly. "No one is going to die. We're going to get through this and then we're going to expand this camp," he paused as he smiled slightly. "And we're going to build a garden with whatever flower you'd like, and maybe build our own cabin."
"You say that as if the grounders are our only problem." Astrid whispered, ignoring the flutter in her heart at his statement. Our own cabin.
"What else is there?" Bellamy asked as he placed soft kisses on both her cheeks.
"There's multiple plants that could kill us, and that yellow gas that burned us and then there's weird animals and we don't know what's in Mount Weather-"
Bellamy cut Astrid off by kissing her. He put a hand on her cheek as his other hand went from her hips to her waist. The kiss was slow and passionate and Astrid didn't want it to stop. She put her arms around Bellamy's neck and tangled her hands in his hair, pulling it a bit. A groan came from Bellamy, making Astrid smirk but pull away breathless.
He went to kiss her again but she put a hand on his mouth, kissed his cheek and quickly got out of bed.
"Tease." Bellamy chuckled lightly as he watched Astrid get dressed. Astrid shot him a quick smile and pecked him in the lips.
"You should get to work, Mr. Blake." she playfully crossed her arms as Bellamy stood up and crossed his arms as well while sending her a smirk. Astrid tried to not stare at his naked chest but god damn it was difficult.
"Mr. Blake?" he asked with a raised eyebrow. He took a step closer to Astrid. "I'll show you Mr. Blake" he playfully grabbed her by the waist and spinned her around while enjoying the sound of her laughter.
Everything was perfect.
For now.

Astrid sat beside Octavia and Murphy in the smokehouse as they cleaned the meat they were supposed to have that night.
Del, a delinquent from camp came in with a lazy grin and dumped some wood in the fire. "Let's get this party smoking."
Octavia looked up from what she was doing and raised her eyebrows at Del. "You don't want the fire too big. So maybe just try to knock it down with some wet leaves."
"You get that from your boyfriend, Grounder pounder?" Del taunted.
"Del shut the fuck up before I break your a bone of yours." Astrid threatened as she sent Del a menacing glare. Octavia sent the girl a small smile while Del glared back.
"Besides, Octavia's right. A hot fire is not gonna preserve the meat as well." Murphy interrupted.
"You can't take the heat, get out of the smokehouse. Should be kissing our asses for being allowed back in this camp. Just keep working." Del responded.
"Del I swear to God I'll punch you." Astrid sent Del a deadly glare and watched as he quickly left the smokehouse.
"Your brother couldn't get you a better job? Would think anything would be better than working in the meat furnace." Murphy directed his question to Octavia as Astrid returned to work and thought how comfy her bed would feel right now. Frankly, Astrid just wanted sleep.
"Oh, probably." Octavia shrugged. "That just means someone else would have to do it."
While working some more, the smell of burnt meat distracted Astrid. She glanced up from what she was doing only to see a small fire already spreading.
"Octavia! Murphy!" Astrid shouted. The two people looked from what they were doing, their eyes widening at the scene. The three quickly got up and gathered se wet leaves and threw them on the fire but it did nothing.
The fire only grew and grew and Astrid couldn't breathe or see anymore. She searched blindly for Octavia and sighed slightly when she did. The two girls followed after Murphy who seemed to have found the exit.
The three quickly ran out of the smoke house only to arrive in a crowd of kids who came to see what was going on. In that crowd was an anxious Bellamy who as soon as he caught sight of his sister and girlfriend ran towards them and pulled the both in a hug, checking for injuries.
"Are you both okay?" he asked worried.
"Peachy." Astrid grumbled while Octavia simply nodded. Bellamy sighed in relief before givinf the two girls a kiss on the temple.
"This is all your fault! We told you it was too much wood." Murphy's shout is heard throughout camp. Everyone turns to see Murphy punching Del.
While Astrid tries to hide her smile, Bellamy gets between the two boys and stops their fighting. "Hey, hey! Save it for the grounders!"
Everyone calms down and Bellamy returns next to Octavia and Astrid. Octavia glances between the two and then looks back towards the burning smokehouse. "Well, now what the hell are we gonna do? That was all the food."

"Any idea what happened?" Clarke asks curiously as her, Astrid and Bellamy stand near the burnt smokehouse.
"Murphy says that Del kept feeding the fire, mostly because Octavia told him it was a bad idea." Bellamy explains while looking towards the remaining ash from the fire.
"And we believe Murphy?" Clarke questions while avoiding Astrid's annoyed grumble.
"I do." Bellamy nods confidently.
"Yeah. We have some wild onions and nuts in the dropship. It's only enough to last us maybe one or two weeks. What's left here?"
"Nothing." Astrid sighs. "It all burned."
"Then we have to hunt. Anyone we can spare goes out." Clarke informs.
Bellamy sends her a questioning look. "With the whole Grounder army out there?"
"We can't fight if we're hungry." Astrid adds, agreeing with Clarke.

After Bellamy debriefed teenagers about hunting, he walked towards Astrid who stood at the edge of camp playing with a knife.
"Are you sure you want to go?" Bellamy asks for the fifth time.
Astrid nods with an amused smile. "I'm sure."
Bellamy sighs disappointed. "Fine but be careful. I mean it." he said firmly. Bellamy takes Astrid by her waist and brings her in for a kiss, letting all his worries melt away.
After they pull away, Astrid sends him a small smile while walking away. "See ya!" she mockingly salutes before turning around and yelling. "Myles, Clarke! Wait up, I'm coming with you!"
