CHAPTER 7: Fifteen years ago
Laura
I made us breakfast which included omelette, sandwich and some juice. I quickly boiled the milk and tea and kept it aside. Putting the remainder in the fridge and cupboards I decided to make pasta. Indigo came out wearing his shirt and sweatpants, looking absolutely delicious.
Laura, the food's right in front of you!
We sat to have breakfast next to eachother. "Blue." Indigo called out.
"Hmmm." I looked at him with my mouth full of food.
"We should inform your parents today." He said and I stopped chewing. He was worried for me. I swallowed the food in my mouth and looked at him.
"Indigo, let's deal with one thing at a time. And I know informing my parents is as important but what's more important is Violet, right now. I know it's hard for you to trust someone right now but we need to talk to Violet first. We have to worry about her first." I told him the importance of the whole situation. Violet needed to learn more about herself before someone else questioned her. She had the right to be informed of everything that concerned her.
Indigo gathered me in a side hug and let out a breath. "We'll talk to her today itself." I nodded. "And also your parents." He continued, making me look at him.
"Okay." I told him, not trying to fight him. The bond was just enjoying this closeness. Indigo wasn't letting the topic regarding my parents slide. And I was glad about it. But at the same time, his wolf didn't seem to be ready with the fact that my father could actually take me away or also the fact that there was Violet here. That was one reason I was not agreeing with him. I wanted him to be hundred percent sure about his decision.
Indigo made sure he arranged her whole room while she was asleep. We cleaned it together, flirting here and there. Indigo looked way too hot doing the cleaning. Again, he was shirtless on purpose, giving me a reason to get distracted easily.
"Maybe the both of us will need cleaning after. You know....We could help each other. Clean." Indigo whispered behind me, while I was dusting the closet. I knocked his stomach with my elbow as he was pushed back. Blushing and moving away I looked at him, trying to hide my smile. Indigo's hearty laugh resonated through the room, making me smack him. "You'll wake her up, asshole!" The laughter vanished as he glared at me.
Oh! Someone's mad.
He pulled my elbow, bringing me close to him. The touch stirring and brewing inside us. My lips were only a breath away from his. "What?" I asked, giving away fake annoyance.
He stared right in my eyes saying, "Do not disrespect me, Laura." I was stupid enough to find his statement hot. No, literally he was warning me and I loved it.
Cool, Cool.
"Okay. Same will you." I stated, as I pulled away from him. The bond loved this tension between us. It wouldn't stop messing and give us some peace alone without having to not touch each other.
"You have no idea how much I respect-" Indigo began but I cut him.
"I do." I said and winked at him with a smile. I knew he did. I felt every ounce of his respect towards me. He was making me feel every positive emotion he could make me feel.
I wasn't being disrespectful either. I was only messing around with my mate. That was all. He needed to loosen up a bit. I knew his wolf would try and dominate us, intimidate us with his words but he also knew I was his equal.
Indigo shook his head, smiling and helped me clean the closet with him. He took the map out which was laid in one of Violet's bags. His wolf took over as he held the map in his hands, eyeing it like he wanted to tear it to shreds. I went to his side and placed my hand on his arm, pulling the map from his hands.
His eyes snapped at me and he shut them again, trying to control his wolf. He opened his eyes to look at me and nodded. I quickly took the map down and put it in his room on the stand. We were almost done and Indigo had decided to wake her up.
It was almost one and Eli's father was supposed to be here. I heard Indigo and Violet's conversation upstairs. She had woken up from a dream that she decided not to talk about. She kept annoying him by calling him cute.
The girl wasn't lying. He looked cute sometimes.
I loved how she kept getting on his nerves. He did not take offence from her even once. Goddess! The man was a sap when it came to her. Then I heard her voice loud and clear, "Oh, you look so cute when you laugh." I let out a laugh myself.
He asked her to get ready as he came down. He trotted towards me as I laughed, "Cute!" He looked at me and rolled his eyes.
Sitting beside me, he shook his head. "Klaus is growing impatient." I looked at him with a raised brow unaware of who he was talking about. "Eli's dad." He said.
"Oh. Wasn't he the beta before?" I asked Indigo. He nodded his head.
"He was. He lost his mate in the attack. Since then he's not him. After we took the pack, he had isolated himself. Doesn't speak to anyone much. Even Eli or Elianna." Indigo told me as his eyes were focused on the fireplace.
"It'll be alright." I said, rubbing his arm.
I sat back reading my book and Indigo stared at it beside me in silence for a while. I didn't know if he understood the language of medicine but he seemed to be reading it. We heard Violet run, opening the bathroom door as she made her way towards the closet. Indigo and I exchanged looks, letting out a chuckle.
Before she came down Indigo and I moved to the kitchen. I put the pasta in the microwave and sat beside Indigo. As she entered the kitchen I moved to hug her. "You look all refreshed and energized now." I smiled as she hugged me back.
"Yeah, I kind of woke up laughing at my cu-" She was cute by Indigo's growl. I laughed out loud, ignoring my pissed mate.
"So, when are we meeting Eli's dad?" She asked Indigo as I was setting her plate.
"He'll be here in twenty minutes," Indigo replied. "And Violet, that room is yours. Feel free to decorate it as you want."
"Really. It is perfect anyways. I don't know what else I can do. Most of my stuff is back at my apartment. I need those things. Can we go and get it?" She asked, looking at us as she fidgeted with her hands.
I set the plate in front of her, knowing she was a veggie. Indigo had informed me about it in the morning. "Please marry her soon." She said, making our eyes snap at her.
Calm down, girl.
"Sorry." She quickly blurted out.
"We don't marry here, Violet." Indigo told her. That was true. Packs had ceremonies, regarding the whole mating process. Sacred rituals were still sacred but the ones that involved pack members were performed just as they have been performed by our ancestors.
The Luna ceremony was counted among one of the greatest ceremonies. It was celebrated because Luna is considered the heart of the pack. She's also considered as the saviour of the pack, a mother. Tradition said, she blesses the pack in the form of the Moon Goddess herself and was always chosen to be the Luna for a cause. Another reason that was believed was, she was the one who was the closest to the Goddess.
Plenty of such beliefs that are believed to be true still helped run the pack. To make us believe the importance of it, we were taught a true story.
The first Luna was a direct descendant from the moon goddess herself. The goddess birthed her, nurtured her, made sure she had a pure heart. Well, she was born with a pure heart. She named her Luna herself.
Then the first werewolf was created by the goddess with a number of powers and with a heart of a beast. The moon goddess had blessed him with everything he had asked for only if his heart was hers.
He obeyed. He did not want to disrespect his maker. His goddess. He praised her, protected her until she named him as her warrior. The Goddess's daughter, Luna, started to fall in love with him. Her heart ached when she used to see him leave everytime. She confessed her feelings to her mother, crying her heart out to her.
Seeing her warrior's faith in her, Moon Goddess introduced the beast to her daughter. He came down to his knees, looking at the girl in front of him. The heart of the beast was now bound to his human lover. But in the process, he didn't know how but he shared half his powers and his soul with her. The same happened to her as she accepted his soul with her heart. She was human but nevertheless she was still the goddess's child. She was just another child-deity.
A bond was formed between them, making them the first soulmate, so intense and so strong, not even the goddess could break it. The beast was able to shift his forms as became an Alpha werewolf, the first of our kind and the girl was called his Luna. Just like her name.
The Goddess blessed them to live a happy life. She also blessed them so that the warrior could turn her daughter too. That was when he first marked her as his with the holy and mighty powers of the bond. After her first shift she bore children with their powers along with the bonds. Generation after generation went on and all of them followed the rituals and traditions taught to them.
The warrior made sure he wrote his own autobiography down so his future lineage could learn. His lineage reamined the strongest and mightiest, each possessing power beyond imagination.
Out of respect for the goddess's daughter their mate was called Luna, eventually forming a kingdom where the werewolf Alpha King and Luna Queen resided. Humans were turned with the help of witches and faes that did not last long after a certain time. The Alpha King didn't see those wolves fit and what was considered as disrespect towards the goddess. To keep his kingdom and lineage safe and to fulfill the goddess's promises he himself started turning humans. Of course all was possible because of the power he gained to turn his mate.
The first turned one's were reborn as Alpha's, possessing immortality and some of his powers. The Alpha's claimed their land one by one and they themselves turned willing humans in return for protection, finding their soulmates or potential mates. Their wolves were lesser wolves. None of these Alpha were able to turn another human into an alpha. Only lesser wolves.
Now these lesser wolves followed the hierarchy and committed to live their lives under a pack and as a pack. Eventually packs were formed, gaining the attention of the new forces that wanted to destroy their existence.
The hunters.
There was much more to the story but not that we knew much ourself.
Violet had so much to learn before learning the story of the Moon warrior and Luna. I knew Indigo wouldn't go into detail about it either. He brushed the topic by telling her the rituals were sacred and done under the full moon. Then he went on telling her the importance of the full moon and how we praise the Moon goddess.
"We are stronger in the presence of the moon, thus the full moon. Now the rituals, some involve the whole pack which you will be able to watch and the others rituals are, you know, sacred." Indigo said, eying me.
Blood rushed through my heart with force at the mention of the sacred rituals. It involved us mating and marking each other. Even the thought of it was churning my stomach.
Violet caught the way Indigo looked at me and I absolutely loved her more because she ignored it without questioning further.
Of everything that concerned her, Violet made sure she questioned the map.
"Where did you find it, Violet? Or did someone give it to you?" I asked her. Indigo's fists were balled up under the table. His alpha was trying to break free.
"Raven, she said she was a witch." Violet said, softly. But Indigo growled so loud, it made Violet flinch back in fear with wide eyes.
"Indigo calm down. You're scaring her." I rushed to his side, speaking as softly as possible. My wolf was taking a look at her mate, making sure he was okay.
"Indigo please. I did not know, she just wanted to help me with something." She held back her tears.
He gained control and said a quick sorry to her. "What help? How do you even know sh-" Indigo was about to ask her but Eli and his father were at the door.
Indigo went to open the door as I gathered Violet in a hug. I assured her everything was going to be okay and that she needn't worry.
We walked out of the kitchen to see Eli and his father at the door. Klaus was just the older version of Eli. His wolf seemed to be lost. He stared at Violet for a minute and looked at Indigo. Indigo gave him a quiet nod and he walked towards Violet.
I looked at Eli and gave him a small smile, nodding at him. Indigo was still livid with the witch topic we discussed. I could feel his fury and the dread that was radiating off him. The mention of a witch seeing his sister had gotten on his nerves. I was understanding his situation, wanting to go and hug him but my wolf made sure I stood beside Violet. She had her eyes on her mate. I left it up to her. She had been through a tough time since we were here so I decided to give her some freedom.
As soon as Klaus gathered her in a hug, his wolf started to show. The bond that I hadn't yet felt with him was snapping back in place. I could see his wolf rising to come forward, wagging his tail, slowly.
What caught my attention was Eli and Indigo. They were looking at Klaus in shock. They were experiencing something, I wasn't feeling but Indigo's emotions gave it away. They were joyful. I could feel their bond beaming with joy as a small smile made up my lips.
I looked back at Klaus, crying his heart out to her. He was relying on her to wash away his pain. A lone tear slipped from my eyes, seeing him like this.
Goddess! Help them, please.
He moved back with a smile on his face as he caressed her head. "Dad, I know she is a fairy right now but we need to talk." Eli said, breaking the tension in the room.
Klaus laughed slightly and said, "But isn't she? She reminds me of them. I cannot stop thinking about any of them." His words were heavy with emotions.
"I am not going anywhere now, uncle Klaus." Violet said, making him smile. He nodded and turned to look at me.
A look of disappointment of himself passed his face as he said, "I'm sorry Luna Laura. I was-"
"It's okay Klaus," I quickly covered him up. Goddess, how could I even get mad at him in a situation like this. My Alpha was understanding about it. She did not feel the need to show her pride here.
"We are blessed to have you Luna. Welcome to the pack and the family," He said and bowed his head. "Welcome to the family, both of you," He said, lifting his head up with a big smile.
Violet quickly held my hand and stood beside me. My wolf grinned, knowing she was going to need us after this. Klaus talked about her aura which caught her attention making her curious. "What is wrong with my aura?"
"It is nothing much, Violet. It gives us the idea that you are strong." I told her. Indigo was the one who was supposed to tell her about her aura. But he was fighting with his own self trying to gather his own emotions.
"You sure, I mean, I don't know, if there's more please tell me." She pushed further.
"Come here, Violet." Indigo motioned her. She looked at me and ran to him. His wolf came forward and nuzzled her, rubbing his scent over her, claiming her his own pup. He wanted to show Klaus she was his pup now.
Bringing up the past to her was unbearable to watch. Indigo was not letting her slide away from his arms. Although Violet promised to speak the truth, she was hesitating. That was what made Indigo restless.
Her part of the story was way worse and heart-breaking to listen to. It was too much and unimaginable to handle. The curse wasn't letting her wolf break through. She was experiencing the shift every fucking month.
That was not possible. At all!
No one survived that. If the wolf cannot take over our body then we die shifting. How was that even possible for her to feel the pain and survive?
I was happy she did. I was way too happy she did survive but how? How the fuck?
Indigo blocked me for a while. He didn't want me to feel the turmoil he was going through as she came clean. I couldn't express my own emotions, hearing what they had to say. It was just so tormenting to hear.
The mention of Silver Summit had everyone's full fledged attention. Apparently this witch Raven told her she would find her answers there.
"What answers?" Indigo was growing impatient minute by minute. I did not like where this conversation was going. Not one bit. Everyone in the room was not in a healthy state of mind right now.
"When I turned fifteen, I started getting this mild headache. It grew every month, until the pain took over my whole body. I've been to like seven hospitals since then. I have gone through the same tests like a hundred times. They gave me painkillers, which helped a bit. It was just so unbearable, I- I coul-"
My wolf was whining for her mate and his pup. Why? Why did it have to be like this?
Indigo wrapped her in a hug as if shielding her from the world. Indigo and Klaus's hopeful words got her to smile a little. But Klaus told her we needed to know more so we could help her better.
"Where did you meet this Raven person?" I asked her.
"So I was at this hospital, where I met her. We talked casually and told each other why we were there. She told me she could help me and that no doctor or medicine could help me. She told me that I was, diff-erent. I thought she was crazy or had hit her head somewhere." She shrugged, wiping her tears away. "She told me I could trust her. She was there to treat her really long beautiful black hair. I told her to get her head checked instead of her hair. She told me that I should check if the episodes happen during the full moon."
She told her that!
Indigo was livid. No. I could feel the fire brewing in him to be released. Fuck, he wasn't taking it well. I suppose the presence of Violet beside him kept him sane.
I tried linking him but he had completely blocked me out. He was contemplating on telling her about the curse. Finally, after coming in terms with his wolf he told her about how the curse was linked to the episodes she was having. The episodes of the shift.
I didn't know what to do at the time. Violet was freaking out and Indigo had reached on the brink to break the barriers that kept him sane.
"Tell me everything, Indigo, please. I deserve to know all of it." Violet pleaded looking at him. She managed to make him smile saying his wolf could pick her up like he did at the Inn. I didn't know what they were talking about but it brought a smile to our faces.
"That I will, little one. My wolf just promised you that," he said.
"I second that, dimples." Eli smirked with the nickname he called her with, causing Indigo to growl at him.
"I like it. You can call me that, El." She said with a smile but only for Eli's smile to fall. There was just another story behind the nickname she called him with. But with a big heart Eli accepted the name.
Goddess, how much were these guys hiding?
We urged Indigo to tell her what her backstory was. She deserved to know it. I didn't know it either and I wanted to reach the truth of it, rather than believe in the rumours. My wolf was growing restless as to what her mate had to say. She trusted him, she believed the rumors to be rumors but she wanted to know what her mate had been through. Pity for him, was not on her mind. She was rather feeling blessed that even after all the storm he had faced, he stood strong.
"There was this witch named Kira, who was dead crazy for our father. Klaus and Dad had met her in the neighbouring pack, the Midnight pack, for some business regarding the protection of our territories." He began explaining it to her.
The atmosphere in the room was heavy. None of them were okay with bringing up the past. The building rage I was able to feel from them was what was setting my wolf to protect them with her life. The mention of the witch's name who ruined her mate's life was taking a toll on her. She wanted nothing less but to end the witch.
Simple.
"We were allies in a way. Mom was from that pack. She was the daughter of the beta there at that time. She was his only child. The Alpha was his elder brother at the time." Indigo continued as Violet had his full attention.
"If the older brother was the Alpha, wasn't the younger one too. I mean they are brothers, so?" Violet's curious little head asked. It was obvious for her to be curious about every new thing she was learning. And solving your doubts rather than letting them play with you, was always better.
It was an important lesson that came with being a doctor too. We don't want to cut a vital vein now, do we?
Indigo smiled at me, "Yes, our grandfather Axel, was an Alpha born too. That makes mom an Alpha."
Oh my! The whole lineage was filled with purebred Alpha's!
I was one too. That meant this pack was ruled by purebreds. This information only stated that they were stronger.
"You have Alpha blood too Violet. It was one of the things that led me to you." Indigo answered the question that he knew was manifesting her mind.
"Is this related to my aura that you guys were talking about?"
"A-um, yeah, in a way." I didn't understand why Indigo was hiding it from her.
"So, when mom and dad met, dad took over the pack from grandpa. He became Alpha and Klaus was his beta. The Midnight pack's Alpha, Alpha William who was also mom's cousin, held a meeting with Kira and dad. That's when she saw him and was head over heels for him. She tried many ways to get to dad but dad loved mom, she was his mate after all."
His anger was beginning to rise again until Klaus decided to talk. "Goddess, Luciano used to get so pissed at her. It was only because of Avaluna that the witch lived. She did show the witch her place once. She had a crooked nose at the end of the day. Her powers weren't that strong that time, so she left."
Indigo continued after Violet asked him to. "So time went by, that witch did not make an appearance. Mom and dad were revealed. We were born after some years and the pack had grown well and good." He let go of his breath and continued again.
The Alpha in him was coming to the surface. My wolf howled in my head, scratched at me, wanting to be with her mate.
"I was ten and you were only five, Violet. Everything happened so quickly. Kira came in with a lot of rogues, killing our warriors with her magic. She had fed the rogues something, maybe, because they were way too feral. We were hidden in the basement, Violet with Eli and his sister and the others. Klaus and everyone out there were fighting with their lives."
All I could do was put a hand on his shoulders. The sparks rose but with them the sadness of the bond caged me. He was hurting. My mate was hurting. His fingers were clenched into fist as his body started to shiver. Tears brimmed my eyes, watching him suffer alone. He wasn't even letting his barriers down.
What the fuck was wrong with him?!
"Klaus was there with his mate along with mom and dad. She cursed me saying I would be stuck in my fur over time until the day I found my mate. She then took your name saying it would be worse for you. She cursed you to not have a wolf -"
Eli quickly strolled towards his dad, holding him down. Indigo had mentioned to me that Klaus never spoke to anyone about it. That he had isolated himself. Bringing the topic of their death again was breaking them and as their Luna I was able to feel it in my bones. I was able to feel their pain through that small bond we shared. Violet had her head buried in Indigo's chest.
"Please tell me, Indigo. I have to-kn-ow," She sobbed.
"She cursed you saying your mate would not accept you because you would not have her, your wolf. That you'll go through the pain she had felt." My heart ached to see them like this. My wolf was whining, shaking her head.
Violet stood strong. She was so precious. She said she did not want a mate who wouldn't love her. She still had so much understanding to do about the mate bond. It wasn't going to be easy.
"How did you know I was dead?" Violet asked. Indigo's wolf took over in a second, breaking all the barriers. Trying to gain control, his eyes were shifting back and forth. He jerked away when Violet called out to him, standing up from his seat.
I immediately gathered Violet in a hug and calmed her down first as tears made their way down my eyes. My wolf made sure Violet was okay. I got up and walked towards my pacing mate. Standing in front of him, I brought my Alpha forward.
I placed my hands on his cheeks and made him look at me. The moment his eyes found mine, the inner storm inside him started to calm. "It's okay love. She is right here, with us. We are all going to protect her." I said, moving closer to him, so he wouldn't ignore the sparks the bond created.
His hands came around me as his Alpha let me hold him. Indigo brought a hand to place on mine and buried his face in my neck. "She's not going anywhere." he whispered through the link, trying to believe his own words.
"Damn right. She is ours to protect and we will protect her." I whispered back.
"Thank you." He said out loud. I moved back and looked at him with a smile. He stood beside me to keep his wolf in check and continued, "After she killed mom and dad and the others, you were just out of my arms somehow. I don't know how. I had held onto you when I felt it, Violet. You just kind of vanished from my arms. We found a lot of your blood outside the territory. It was so much that everyone was sure you were killed by some wild. Nothing was left of you, just your blood. I couldn't even feel the bond with you. I never felt the bond after that. None of us did."
She vanished?! How could she vanish just like that?
"Indigo, just finish it faster," Eli's painful voice caught my attention. He was crying.
"It was all the end. Why did you leave my side that day? Where did you vanish to? I have no idea. But I am not letting that happen ever again." Indigo said, kneeling down in front of her.
"I won't leave again brother. Never. I'm so sorry. So so sorry. I don't remember-I-" Indigo got up and hugged her.
Fuck! Why did this have to be so painful?
"It's not your fault. I'm sorry too. I know you don't remember. I shouldn't have said that. I know you would have never left my side ever. You just vanished in thin air. I did not know what to do. I am so glad I found you, little one. You were the first best thing that had ever happened to me Violet. The day you were born, I was dancing like a mad boy, running around the pack telling everyone that you were born. It was the best day of my life. I loved you so much and I still do."
My mate sounded so adorable. Goddess, I was falling for him way too fast.
Violet's breath was coming out ragged. I quickly went to the kitchen and brought two glasses of water. Giving one to Violet, I gave the next one to Klaus. Eli took the glass from me and held it for his father. "Dad."
The moment Klaus looked up, my wolf let out a howl of pain in my head. He looked dead from within. He pushed back all his emotions, pulling his barrier up his head and drank the water.
"You were a strong girl, back then too. This boy," Klaus said as he pointed at Indigo, "he wouldn't leave you alone, like ever. He was like your shadow. You have no idea how many boys here have been threatened by him."
Goddess!
Out of nowhere Eli's voice boomed through the room. "Yeah, he punched me too! I was his best friend for Goddess's sake!" That brought a smile to our faces. Indigo looked better than before. "It was nothing compared to the others. You have no idea how many threats and punches Vin-"
Indigo growled so loud, it made Eli shut his mouth. Vin, who now?
Vin...Vin..Oh Goddess! Alpha Vincent of Midnight Pack. It all came crashing down. Their parents were allies meaning they must be close. Indigo's mother was from that pack. Seeing Indigo getting riled up about Vincent meant only one thing. Vincent had a thing for Violet.
Holy crap!
Violet's curiosity was shut when Indigo straightaway denied to talk about it further. Instead he asked her another important question. "Violet, did the witch you meet tell you the reason before she told you to go to the Silver Summit?"
Her expressions shouted a big no. "No, I mean she said I'll find my cure there. She told me I was different and to have an open mind about it. She also said that I was strong, you know, like you guys say it. Something in me told me to trust her. Maybe my gut, maybe. She cut her palm for me and then pricked my finger and clasped it in her hand and said 'this is me swearing to you that the it remains between me and you-"
Fuck, What now?!
"WHAT?" Eli and Klaus boomed.
"SHE DID WHAT?!" Indigo's wolf pushed ahead, causing the whole house to shake.
They were all on their feet, scaring the shit out of Violet. The girl literally flinched back in her seat, thinking if she did something wrong. Klaus explained to her the deal with the blood oath and swearing. It takes a lot to give a blood oath to someone and the witch doing that with Violet wasn't sitting well with any of us. She knew Violet was a werewolf. That one thing was for sure.
"But Raven did not seem to me as a stranger when I first met her. I don't know, I wanted to trust her. I just felt like it. I wasn't even scared of her when she told me she was a witch. I mean, why would she want to help a human like me?" Violet caught our attention again.
When Indigo pried further she continued, "I did not know at first that I go into pain every full moon. She told me about it. She told me to check for myself and if it was true, I would meet her again. I confirmed it for three months concluding it was true what she said. I wanted to know more so I met her. She told me to go to the Silver Summit to find my 'answers'. It was the same day she told me that she was a witch and then cut her palm and all."
She spaced for a second or two and began again. "Yup, and then she said I had better things coming my way and-and to make wise decisions and, um, that I will be powerful one day. Pft, like I was going to become Wonder woman."
Wonder woman! I chuckled at her.
She pulled her running nose up again. Ignoring the men staring at her, I searched for the tissue box. I found it on the counter below the T.V and brought it to her. The men still stood in the same position, gawking at her and linking with each other.
"If you guys are done linking with each other and staring at her can we continue?" I said, folding my hands in front of me, causing the men to scatter around.
My wolf grinned. Damn Luna instincts!
