Indigo

Violet’s words had made a home in my heart. My wolf couldn’t help but stop showing his love for her. He’s never been this happy before. This entire month has been nothing but perfect for us. I was happy. So happy, I couldn’t control it and I wanted to cry for that.

After spending the whole afternoon with his mate and Violet tucked in between, he got ready to do the one thing he was dying to do.

Sparr with Eli.

Jane and Klaus had given me an idea that Violet needed to see us spare. They had started with her sparring lessons. She needed to watch and learn first. She needed to know that a fight was not something she should take lightly. I had hesitated at first because I did not want her to see our feral sides so soon.

But I had to. Dammit!

One day she’d have her wolf or even if she doesn’t, she should be aware of how to protect herself. She was an alpha and from what we were seeing we knew she was not just any alpha. The amount of pain she went through every month was just a perfect reason to say she was strong.

She was the strongest.

Eli and I had decided to show her how we sparred with each other. I had linked him when I knew Violet was going to wake up. She usually slept for an hour in the afternoon after having a stomach full of lunch or sometimes she studied for her exams or helped Laura or took pack-lessons with Klaus. I was glad she was getting more and more comfortable. She had grown close with all of them. Lianna and her, Jane and her, she had her own perfect duos.

Jane and Klaus told me they’d be here to watch Violet.

When Eli and I sparred there was no looking back. Blood was all we saw. We both knew when we had to stop. I honestly needed it, desperately. I hadn't sparred in a while. I used to train with the warriors in the morning but it was just training.

My cocky wolf wanted to show his mate what he was made of. Laura and I had fought on the matter regarding Violet. My wolf wasn’t allowing me to put Violet into distress as the full moon was near. We just weren’t ready to.

“Don’t you forget I have every right to tell her what she needs to know, Indigo.” Laura harshly said, as she sat on the bed while I stood leaning on my window, looking outside.

Laura was a person who stood for Violet. She defended her everytime with everything. She wanted her to get every right she deserved. She even agreed to that costume plan of hers.

“That does not mean you put her through more pain than she already is.” I said, diverting my eyes to her.

She let out a laugh. “You really think I would do that to my pup. Oh goddess!” She got up and started walking out. “This is ridiculous. I don’t care what you think, Indigo. I am doing it tomorrow itself because let me tell you Violet isn’t some weak child. You keep doing this shit with her, hiding things from her and regret in the end.” She said and slammed the door behind her.

We wouldn’t have fought if I hadn’t dragged the topic for days until today. It was my fault. There were a lot of apologies I had to make to my knight in shining armor. 

I was going to make sure, I made it up to her.

Violet was watching me and Eli intently. Jane told her to watch and learn and with a sleepy face she nodded her head.

I wasn’t going to go easy on Eli today.

As soon as we jumped down the patio, I landed a punch on Eli’s face. He growled and looked back at me wiping the blood off his mouth and nose with a smirk.

He was just going to be as bad.

“Five fucking months!!” He said, still smirking as he swung his body in my direction, making me bend back but his punch landed on my leg.

I quickly pulled myself up and held his head, knocking my elbow on his back. He took a hold of my left leg and pulled it towards him, making me fall on my back and him on top of me.

I didn’t wait for another bow and hit my head against his and threw him to the side. I growled as my alpha started to take over. Eli got up from the ground in one shift motion. I didn’t waste time to land a punch on his stomach, making him stumble back. He growled and came toward me with full force and swung his right leg as he twisted his body in the air so that his left foot made contact with my head.

But it didn’t.

I moved back to dodge his move and took a hold of his leg and pulled it back so he hit the ground with a loud thud. I tried to kick him but he moved aside and took hold of my leg, pulling me down. He sat on top of my stomach and punched my face. Before his second fist could land on my face, I turned us around and did the same. I punched him and let my alpha come forward some more.

His wolf did the same, growling at me. He pulled his leg up and twisted it around my neck and stopped my next punch. I twisted his hand as he groaned and forced my head front so that his leg that was across my neck bent towards his chest. He growled again louder this time but used his other knee to hit my back with full force. The impact cracked one of my bones and to avenge that I cracked his hand along with his leg which was around my neck. His hand fell free on the ground as I managed to get up with my broken back.

I looked back at Violet who had a worried expression on her face. She had leaned towards Klaus and had held his hand.

What I did next had her standing as she attempted to run towards me.

I pushed my broken bone back into its place so that it healed faster. I was shirtless and the bone was poking out of my body. I knew it would take a day or two to heal back into place.

Klaus had pulled Violet back before she ran to me. Eli was up and he had fixed his hand. I ran towards him and jumped up on his head, locking my legs across his neck. He threw me down but I did not let his neck go. I strangled his neck to which he growled and pulled his lower body up so that his knee landed on my stomach and his head sprung free. I quickly kneed him in the face, breaking his nose as his back was facing me.

I threw him off me as my alpha finally wanted out. I wanted to fight more. I held him back and so did Eli to his wolf. “That’s all you got, beta. I thought you would improve in my absence.”

Provoking your opponent was a strategy.

Leave your opponent blinded with rage and they would not think twice. They act without thinking. But I very well knew Eli wouldn’t let this affect him.
Eli grunted and got up with a devious grin on his face. “That doesn’t work on me, Alpha. Or have you forgotten who this beta is.”

Asshole.

He lunged at me with his head first and held my waist. He put a leg behind mine and tried to bring me to the ground but I knocked my knee into his stomach thrice. He twisted himself and put both his hands on my left and managed to knock me down to the ground on my other side.

I turned and growled and picked him up with the help of my legs as he tried to scratch me. I threw him five feet away as he landed on his back, groaning. He did not wait and got up as his wolf completely took over him. His claws were poking out and his teeth were bared towards me. He was heaving and so was I.

I was his alpha and my alpha did not take anyone’s shit. I let my alpha come forward as Eli’s wolf did. My claws and canines were out as my growls filled the place.

I lunged at him this time and turned around in a twist so my foot made contact with his face. He put his hands under my arms and turned them to hold the back of my neck. He bent me forward but I pushed my lower body out of his grasp and held his leg and pulled his leg up as he lost his balance, his grip around my neck loosening and he fell on his back with a hiss.

I punched him in the gut and on his face with both my hands, growling at him, showing him my alpha. He didn’t let go, he blocked my hands and hit my head with his.

I grunted and scratched him around his cheek. He let go of my hands and did the same on the side of my chest. We were already covered in blood and I could very well hear Violet’s heartbeat had increased.

I got off of Eli and growled louder this time. He got up with me and both of us lunged into the air, shifting mid-air.

We did a circle, snarling and growling as the fur on our back was raised. I caught him off guard and lunged at him, throwing him to the side and taking a hold of his belly in my teeth. He rolled over and sunk his claws in my leg. I let go off his fur and pushed back, throwing my whole weight on him again.

He got on his hindlegs and jumped on my head and bit on my ear. I growled and snapped my head with full force, throwing him away from me. He skidded across the ground on his side but got up to his feet swiftly. I circled him again, baring my teeth at him.

He attacked me with his head but I took a hold of his neck and turned him around so he was on his back. I pulled back only to dig my teeth deeper into his neck. He wriggled and squirmed, growling and tried pulling himself away with full force but I did not let him.

My wolf had pinned his wolf to the ground, showing him who his Alpha was. “SUBMIT.” I growled.

He knew who had won this but he grunted, making me push my teeth deeper into his neck as my claws, grazing his belly to draw blood. I growled at him louder and he finally showed me his neck.

I let go of his neck and moved back, looking at him as he got up, blood flowing down his neck.

But that was Eli. His wolf grinned and was happy we got a good fight after so long. Laura brought both of us a pair of pants and we quickly shifted, wearing them.

My mate looked at me with an amused smile on her face.

She was definitely up to something. Dammit!

Eli had a cloth of his torn pants that were sitting on the ground because of his shifting, around his neck. I let a hand out to him and he clasped it, bumping our shoulders together. “Your strength has increased Indigo.” Eli linked me.

“What do you mean?” I asked him, looking at his wound.

“I’ve sparred with you all my life. You felt different today. I don’t know how to put it exactly. You were just stronger,” He told me through the link.

“It must be because I hadn’t fought for quite a while. Maybe all these pent up emotions got a hold of me.” I said, turning back to look at Violet.
“Hmm. Maybe. Everything’s going to be just fine, Indigo. We are going for a drink soon and I am not taking a no for an answer.” He said, following me on the patio.

Asshole.

Violet was next to Klaus, holding onto him as she was looking at me and Eli with anger on her face. “What the hell was I supposed to learn from that!? To Kill?!” She shouted, standing up from her seat, pushing Klaus’ hand away from her shoulders, her eyes glistening with tears as she looked at me for answers.

I knew I shouldn’t have shown her this side of me yet.

Dammit, dammit!

But how was she going to learn? How was she going to protect herself from what was coming her way?

“Little one, this was all to help you learn how to protect yourself.” I told her, gathering her into my arms.

Shit, I still had blood on my face and arms and around my stomach, basically everywhere. She hugged me anyway. “It’s not to kill, Violet. I want you to be prepared. I want you to be stronger. Didn’t you say you wanted to be like mom?” I asked and she nodded into my chest. “Well then this is how you learn to be like her, strong and ready. And you don’t have to worry about us. We heal faster.” I told her, as she snapped her head back to look at me.

She moved away from me and examined my wounds. Most of them had closed but some were still there.

She ran to where Eli was and looked at him, “Are you okay?” She asked him and held his hands. Eli kept staring at her. For a few seconds I thought he was lost in her eyes but suddenly the energy around changed.

It was Violet.

Laura, Klaus and Jane kept looking at her as they walked forward. Violet stood there looking at Eli as she stared back into his eyes, the aura around her changing, growing more…godly. Laura touched my hand as she came close to me, “What is that?” She whispered, softly.

I shook my head, shocked. My wolf felt it too. The energy grew a ring of charm around her, making her presence feel like she was some divine being.

She released Eli’s hands and said, “You’re fine.” She turned around, her divine presence making me feel the white lights from heaven shining down on me.

“You’re okay.” She said and closed her eyes, opening them again. I blinked multiple times and looked at her as she stood facing Eli. Laura let go of my hand, wiping her face.

My wolf was feeling so distracted. I looked at Laura as she smelled of me, wearing my shirt. Damn, now even I was distracted.

“Are you okay?” Violet asked Eli and he smiled brightly.

“I am, dimples. He is right. We heal faster. Look.” He tried to show her the gash on his face that I gave him with my claws. She moved a hand to touch his face and nodded where there was only blood rather than a gash.

“Wow.” She breathed out. “Show me your neck.” She said, looking at where the cloth was placed with a sorry face.

“Ah that one, that one will take time to heal. Maybe a day.” He told her as he kissed her forehead, not showing her the wound.

“So I have to fight like this?” She asked, looking at both of us and then at Klaus and Jane.

“Yes. Your wolf instincts will grow stronger with time. And once you have her, you’ll have your own beast. She will only see blood for every other threat you face. Not only her, you will see the same. You have the genes of a beast in you and it is natural to feel that. Doesn’t it provoke you when Jane pushes you to show her your Alpha?” She nodded. “Exactly. You will be the better judge for yourself. This, what Indigo and Eli did was to make you understand that you are the master of your own mind. It’s how you train yourself first to get a hold of your emotions and when you know you can hold yourself well your beast won’t be able to take over you.” Klaus explained but she looked at him weirdly.

He let out a laugh and said, “To help you understand better, let me be clear with you. You have to train yourself because, well, you’ll be facing threats everywhere you go. Or do you want things to end up the way they did fifteen years back?” He asked.

This topic as much as it was difficult for me to take, it was for Klaus. I could feel his turmoil asking her that question.

Violet looked at him and shook her head, saying, “No.”

“Good. If you want to stay protected and protect others, learn to protect yourself first.” He said, narrowing his eyes at her slightly. He was the best person to give her pack-life lessons. The way he made her understand things, making it easy for her was just perfect.

Violet nodded her head at him. Eli hugged her sideways with a smile, “I will be waiting for the day I get to spar with you, dimples.” He said and she looked up at him with a small smile.

She nodded her head saying, “Okay. Sure.”

Eli and I went to take a dip in the river. We were returning when Laura linked me, “I was looking forward to spar with you, Alpha.”

Sweet Goddess!

“Meet me at the waterfall in five.” I said, with utter dominance.
She heard me but did not reply. She had a lesson coming on how to not ignore me.

“Go ahead.” I told Eli.

He had a shit eating, mischievous grin on his face as he gave me side-eyed glare. “Get lost, Eli.” I told him and the asshole laughed.

“Got another sparring session.” He wiggled his eyebrows with the same grin on his face.

I made an attempt to punch him but he ran away laughing. “Have fun and take your time. Violet, Lianna and I have movie plans anyway.” He screamed, running away.

They did?

I reached the river side where the way to the waterfall was. I couldn’t scent Laura, knowing she hadn’t yet gone there. I took my pants off and shifted, running towards the fall.

I heard running paws in the distance and ran ahead faster. I reached near the fall and shifted quickly wearing my shorts that I had carried in my mouth. It was still bright. The sun would set in an hour or two.

I saw Laura’s wolf trout upto me, swaying her tail in the air. Damn her. She had a shirt and shorts in her mouth, knowing I took the clothes that were here back to clean them. She dropped them and shifted in front of me and stood there in her naked skin. I locked eyes with her with a growl but did not move.

Ever so slowly she picked up the shirt and wore it while still looking at me. She definitely had something devious in mind. I kept my narrowed eyes on her as she slowly lifted the shorts and wore them, bending down a little.

I was so drunk looking at her that I didn’t realize she lunged at me and landed a punch in my gut.

What the fuck!

I growled but she did not wait and another punch landed on my face this time. It was my turn now. Before her third punch could make contact with my chest, I took a hold of her hand and rolled her so her hand was bent around her neck, my free hand held hers, my face very close to her ear. Her back was pressed against my front as I whispered in her ear, “That is not how you say hi, Laura.”

She shivered. I loved it when she shivered.

She growled and hit me back with her head as my hand came loose around her neck, she elbowed me in my stomach and moved away.

Okay. Enough was enough.

“Let’s do it your way.” I said as she looked back at me not saying a word.

This was a fight of two alpha’s. Not mates.

“Yes, my way. While I teach you to not disrespect me again when it comes to my pup.” She growled, her eyes flicking between hers and her wolf’s. I walked towards her and she tried to punch me again but I dodged it, instead a punch landed on her stomach. She groaned and growled and kicked her left leg and her right hand together this time. I held her hand but her leg landed on my waist.

I did not let go of her hand and brought her close, taking a hold of her other hand behind my back. She wriggled around and kneed me in my balls. She took a hold of my hair as I groaned. “Do not ever doubt my intentions with my pup.” She growled, kneeing me in my stomach as she pushed me away.

I wanted to smile so badly as I held my balls. The mother wolf was not going to take it easy on me. I loved how much she loved Violet.

Continuing to see how far she was going to take this, I growled and hit my head with hers, throwing her off me. She took two steps back and jumped on me with full force, knocking me to the ground. I rolled us over and punched her other cheek. She blocked my other punch with a growl, bringing her alpha forward. Her claws came out and her other hand scraped my back, her claws digging in my flesh. Maintaining eye contact she said, “I am her mother. I don’t care if it’s not by blood, you dense fuck. You do not get to force me to keep my pup in the dark.”

Fuck, I loved her even more.

I twisted her hand that was holding mine and used my other hand to take a hold of her neck. She used all her strength to slam my head with both her hands, my ears ringing on its impact.

“You need to learn to accept that she is a grown up who is curious to learn about things around her. Imagine what it would do to her if she starts learning things on her own through those dreams she has.” She said and punched me again.

She was so fucking right!

I let go of her neck and took a hold of both her hands still sitting on her stomach. My legs were bent backwards holding hers so that she couldn’t use them. I brought her hands close to my lips and kissed them, earring a deadly growl from her.

I smirked.

I wanted to know how far she’d go in this fight. She was also going to be away from me for I did not know how long and I wanted to make sure she had everything in her so that me and my wolf could sit here in peace. Not that I doubted her, she was indeed strong and smart with her moves. But this was my own way to make sure she could take whatever came her way.

Her blue eyes looked deadly as her jaw was clenched. I opened her palms and dragged her hands across my chest and down my stomach as she growled, dragging her claws along, drawing blood. I could feel her alpha waiting to come out at me like the waves.

Like a damned tsunami.

And hell she did.

She tried to roll us over with all the strength she had but was only able to do it halfway. She sat up with me still strangling her waist and brought her hands up that I was still holding, and hit me under my chin with full force. I growled at her and punched her in the chest as she grunted. I got off her and waited for her to stand up.

She quickly stood up and started taking predatory steps in my direction, her fists clenched at her sides. I looked at her and damn she looked like the damn alpha she was. Her aura and scent flooded across her, protecting her in it, showing everyone that she was no less. Showing my alpha that she was no less.

Fuck, I wanted to submit to her.

I kept staring at the goddess in front of me and did not realize she punched me back in the chest. I took a hold of her other hand and brought my alpha forward, cracking it. I used my other hand, clawing her at her waist and made a mental note to lick it later.

She groaned and tried to use her leg to kick my shin but was unsuccessful as I had pinned one of her legs down with my foot while I had twisted my other leg around her so that she couldn’t move at all. If she did she would fall.

She looked at me and exposed her canines, biting at my chest, clawing my back with her other hand. My Alpha was trying to take over but I held him back yet again. I took a hold of her neck with my other hand and brought her head back with a jerk. I extended my canines at her, growling at her.

She smirked this time, spitting off the blood in her mouth. Her other hand, before it traveled towards my neck, I bit it. I brought my alpha forward and let go of her legs and hand and turned her around swiftly, bringing her to the ground. Her front hit the ground as I pressed my body against her back, holding her in place. She was snarling and wriggling around to push me away, but I gave her no chance.

She didn’t shift because she knew if she shifted I would too and our wolf’s would take over and mate with each other with the position they’d end up in.
She squirmed and squirmed under me to get off. I had both her hands in my grip, making it impossible for her to make any move.

“Keep doing that and we’ll end up mated in no time, Laura.” I said into her ear.

She fucking shivered every damn time..

I pushed my face further into her neck and breathed her oceans.

“You are delusional, Alpha.” She seethed, knowing it would affect me too. I grinned my hardness against her ass, making her growl.

“Am I now?” I asked, with my face still buried into her neck. She closed her eyes, knowing the bond and the heat between us was flaring.

I had both her hands in one hand as I moved the other, tracing her sides from her head to her waist. “I am sorry.” I said as I kissed her shoulder. She purred as I brought them back to her neck and pushed her shirt aside to expose more of her shoulder to me.

I kissed her, licking it first and then sucking on it until it left a mark. I knew she loved it. Her frigid body melted below me as she moaned. I kept doing it, exposing more of her shoulder to me than before. My hand traveled down to her left breast that was pressed against the ground.

“No blue, I knew I should have listened to you. And it’s not only about that, I’m sorry because I cannot really be with you all the time and it’s eating me. I want me and my wolf to accept Violet’s safety here sooner so we can spend some time with you. It’s just so difficult with everything and the full moon coming up.” I told her. She wanted to say something but I stopped her before she could.

“Listen to me blue. You have the biggest and loveliest heart in the world. Let me make it up to you. I want to make it up to you. Don’t hate me for it, love. I’ll make sure I will take time every evening to go with you to meet the pack. But love, please just spare me for a few days.” I told her while she smiled with soft eyes. She shook her head and hugged me. 

“Don’t beat yourself. I know you are doing everything in your power to help everyone here.” She looked back at me now and continued, “You’re worrying too much, Indigo. The pack won’t be at ease if you aren’t. You need to stay strong for her. We’re all here and I am sure the treatment we are giving her is going to help her.”

“I trust you, blue. And I'm really sorry for being an asshole to you yesterday.” I said, bringing her close to my chest again.

“You learn the hard way.” She chuckled and shrugged.

My wolf agreed.

I made her sit with me in the water near the edge of the pool. We leaned our backs on a small boulder with her beside me, my hand draped around her shoulder, her head leaning on my chest.

“Have you talked to your dad?” I asked her.

“Hmm, I did. He said he’ll gather his contacts to get to Quentin.” She said, playing with the water around her. “I am worried for Logan though.”

“What happened?” I asked.

“He’s twenty-eight, Indigo and he still hasn’t found his mate plus he’s the alpha. The other day he almost said that he’d give his position to Linus if he doesn’t find her within the next five years. Linus was super angry at him for that and I was involved because we don’t really talk about it to mom and dad. Actually, it’s just Logan. He feels comfortable talking to us rather than mom and dad.” Laura told me.

“He’ll find her. It’s just about the right time and the right place along with your fate and a little luck.” I told her, remembering how we met.

“I know. He’s been to most of the packs but no luck. Can you believe it, Violet was the first potential mate he has ever found, Indigo.” She told me, looking at me.

“Now I understand why he said that.” I breathed out.

We atleast meet two or three potential mates in our lifetime until we find our fate mates. Logan hadn’t even found one until he saw Violet. That was something very unusual and torturous for an Alpha.

“I should ask him to go on a search for her like you did.” Laura said, looking at me.

I smiled at her and pulled her close, “Maybe you should. If even that doesn’t work then he should check other countries too. You never know.” I said, shrugging my shoulders.

“Yeah. I mean, he’s the Alpha. Both him and the pack need their Luna.” She said, looking away, playing with the water again.

“It’ll be alright.” I said and continued, “What about the mission?” I asked her, wanting to know the latest updates.

“Ravi is doing great. He doesn’t even let a small thing slip off. They’ve gathered everyone they can and are still trying. We’ve found out five compounds injected in the bodies of the dead vampires. All deadly, like they were trying to turn them into something too feral. Goddess knows what else they injected in them.” She said, anger evident in her tone.

“You were there as an intern there. Didn’t you find anything there?” I asked her, massaging her head.

“No. That was the problem. Where we were placed, everything was normal there. All their dirty business was underground. We tried but we couldn’t find anything and plus I was still pursuing my career. I couldn’t stay there for too long but we atleast found out that Angous was a part of it.”

“While you are here, keep up with sparring. Are your sessions done here?” I asked, massaging her neck now.

“Nope, woah, feels good.” She said while I was massaging her neck and continued, “Some of our warriors came to me personally, to volunteer themselves.”

“They’re protective of their Luna.” I replied and she smiled. She moved to sit behind me and pushed me down so her hands could reach my head. She started massaging my head and then my neck and my back until she was satisfied. Those pretty hands were working magic on me.

After she was done I told her to shift and we ran up the mountain until we reached the top. The way her wolf was enjoying running with mine, made my wolf happy. My horny wolf made her run ahead of us so he could stare at her perfect ass and tail and salivate all the way. She caught him checking her out and flicked some mud at him with her hind legs, growling at him.

He swiftly moved ahead of her and nipped at her back and neck, jumping around her and playfully bumping into her. She enjoyed him doing that and did the same to him.

Laura and I had given our wolves full control so they could spend some time together. We sat back for more than half an hour as they trailed the path north enjoying themselves.
