CHAPTER 24: Raids 1
Laura
Alpha Thorn was raiding an abandoned farm house that was located far on the outskirts of the city. His team had a much bigger area to cover. We were able to list it down, thanks to the witches that teamed up to get a hold of some of the hunters. That was how we were able to track the exact location of the farm house. They told us that most of the chemical supplies were stored in there so no one could notice. I saw Thorn's team shift as the vampires moved behind them, the camera's placed on their shirts unsteady.
Alpha Ricardo was targeting a major clinic from a big village. Our team had noticed a lot of movement the past month. Plenty of vans were taken down that route with goddess knows what. Again we were able to set our target on the location, thanks to the village police that happened to stumble upon one of our guys. All our luck I could say. The dragons hadn't shifted because they didn't want to be noticed by the villagers. This team had strong vampires who could brainwash a large group of villagers at a time if they tried to interrupt. A good Ricardo strategy.
Alpha Lee was raiding an old ship. The ship showed no signs of human activity on it but our tracker had gotten a hint of illegal business happening inside with scents of hunters around the area. His team did not waste another minute and looked into the depth of it. Alpha Lee was his closest go to so he introduced him to the mission. Lee quickly got into action and they found out the black market was running beyond the barriers put by a witch. To a normal person it would look like an unused ship but a shifter was able to see the barrier. The tracker team caught movement beyond the barriers and hence the whole raid. Lee's team had a major cutting point that they had to cross the barrier without being noticed.
Alpha Durga was responsible for raiding a factory that hadn't seen a soul in centuries. It was just near to the city, several towns scattered across it. The factory was a closed site for humans. But of course, the hunters found their way through and we had to make sure that the place remained soulless just like it was before. Fearless and determined, her team moved along her orders. I saw her shift into her massive brown wolf as well, creeping through the gates of the factory, her team surrounding the area from all sides, making any escape difficult.
Alpha Abhinav was given the responsibility of a huge club in the city. This was riskier because they were in direct contact with the humans. The club was put on the list because we had the owner of the club on the tip of our fingers. Sick bastard was involved in kidnapping young girls and selling them off to different countries. It was not just the humans he kidnapped, different shifters were sold to various places. This place as much as it was risky, we had the upper hand. We had the blueprint of the whole damn club, covering all escape routes. And tonight was our night. I just knew Abhinav was gonna rock the whole club.
Indigo came down putting Violet to sleep and stood near the door. He smiled at me and said, "I love you." My heart instantly melted, butterflies fluttering in my lower belly.
I gave him a shy smile and linked him, "You sleeping or what?"
"I won't be able to sleep with you worried here to be honest. I'll pick out Violet's stuff from her childhood. Maybe look into dad's belongings as well." He told me.
I turned to the screen when I was linked by Alpha Lee. "Crossed the barrier. Moving in." I furrowed my eyebrows together at his screen, the vampire raising his camera so we could get a clear picture of the lights on the ship.
"Easy. Do not rush." Cleo said as he looked at one of the screens.
I looked back at Indigo and he was still there, looking at me just like he did seconds ago. I smiled and said, "Cool. Let me know if you find anything. And if you are sleepy please sleep. I know you have a lot of work to do."
"I will. Call me if you need me." He said and blew me a kiss. I caught it and ate it, making him chuckle.
I focused back on the screen once he was gone.
Indigo's tear filled eyes flashed my vision all of a sudden. My wolf too snapped out of her thoughts at the sudden image. He wasn't going to be okay. I knew all those memories were going to come back rushing to him. I wasn't going to let him do it alone after I saw him breakdown in the morning. I needed to be with him while he did that. Fuck, I should have thought before.
I quickly linked him, my eyes still on the screen. "Indigo, listen. Don't do it today."
"What's wrong?" He asked.
"I want to be with you while you take out everything." I told him.
"You're worried I-"
"Please." I said, cutting him. He came back up and smiled at me.
"I'll be in the living room." He told me and I nodded, throwing a kiss in his direction. He caught it and put it in his pocket.
"Saving for later." He said and went to the living room.
I wanted him to sit next to me and learn about the whole mission. But at the same time I did not want his mind to cloud up with things like these. Things which might probably end up killing me. It would affect my whole mission if he tried to keep me here in fear of losing me. I wanted him to know I was certain about what I was doing. I wanted him to feel at ease while I was gone. I thought of calling him inside once they all come out successful. I was praying they did.
I looked back at the screen to see Sarah pointing at one of the screens. Alpha Abhinav and his team had made an entry in the club and the vampires quickly began with their work, compulsing them to move out slowly without being noticed. The club was huge, men and women scattered around drinking and dancing, enjoying themselves to the fullest. One of the vamps had moved to the first floor, emptying private areas while the other one checked in the washrooms and kitchens.
Abhinav tried to get mixed up with the crowd as he started grinding his body against a girl who invited him. His culture didn't really sit with him doing that but Abhinav was beyond boundaries. His alpha was smart and calculated, sharp senses with a lot of talent and a good knowledge of different defense techniques. Another vampire's camera was on the second floor as he began pulling open the doors to the rooms, groaning and making them wear their clothes before compulsing them to leave.
Poor guy had to see people naked.
At the fifth door he heard crying. He quickly linked us. "I hear crying. Probably one of those girls." He pushed the door open with a snarl and saw a girl in her teens tied to the bed, her wrists bleeding along with her ankles. Her mouth was swollen, blood sweeping out of it as she cried and cried.
"Give me an order to kill this bastard!" The vampire roared as he crushed the man hovering over the girl, pinning him to the wall holding onto his neck.
"He's a human. Put him in comatose and throw him in the bathroom. We'll leave that to the human officials, making sure he'll be dead one way or another. I promise." I told him, my wolf clawing to kill him through the damn screen.
The vampire did as told and helped the girl first, untying her and pulling the covers to cover her. He called out another female vampire and made sure she took care of her.
My blood boiled at the sight of those bastards raping those poor souls.
Following he found around seven girls, helping them gather in a single room so they could stay together. "We'll help you reach back to your families. Don't be scared. Sleep." The female vampire put the girls to sleep.
"Abhinav now." Cleo told him as soon as the top floors were vacated. Abhinav made his way with the dragons and the wolves to the underground. Some of them blocked the exits. Hunters disguised as guards were placed at every corner, camera's set at every turn of the club. The witches played their game, making the camera's pop out of their round protective barrier.
"Hunters!" He linked us, knowing we had to give him direct orders to kill them.
"Do it. Save some for interrogation." Sarah gave a quick reply.
And they began their work.
Here on another screen, Alpha Ricardo had already caught the attention of the hunters. Not waiting another second his team got into action. They perfectly divided their team, as half of them moved inside the clinic and half of them covered for them. Ricardo growled as he ran inside, killing everyone on the way. The weresnakes covered for him, their poison working within seconds.
"Ricardo, not the humans!" I roared in the link as he made his way towards the scared humans.
"Please, don't hurt us. They have our families with knives at their throats." One of the doctors in the clinic cried, dropping to his knees, his hands joined as he pleaded.
"Stay here. Do not move! Are there others?" Ricardo asked, growing impatient.
"Yes, they are down there." The doctor spoke, pointing at the staircase down the foyer.
"They're using silver." The witch with them linked us.
"Be careful." Cleo said as he moved to look back at Abhinav's screen.
Abhinav wasn't him at the moment. He was clawing away hastily without remorse, blood covering his form as he tore into the hunters. The vampire's camera was moving too much as he ripped out hearts of the hunters that began swarming up the corridor that led towards the basement.
"I'm going to kill them all!" Abhinav growled as his alpha rose to the surface, completely taking over him. I could see him shake with anger as his growls alone brought the hunters to their knees. The wolves and vampires around were struggling to be near him as his aura affected them.
I moved in my seat, knowing this wasn't Abhinav. He wouldn't have let his alpha take over so soon. This was something else. And I was starting to think it was what we all were thinking it could be.
"Alpha Abhinav. I understand what you are going through but we are doing this to save them not scare them. Don't make hasty decisions." I tried calming him down through the link as I saw he tore another hunter's head and threw it away.
"My mate is in there!" He growled through the link as one of the dragons ran forward taking charge.
Just what we assumed.
"I'm hardly affected by his alpha. Cool him down first." The dragon linked as he half shifted in that small space, blocking the hunters, tearing them apart one after the another.
I took in a deep breath and tried again. "I know, Abhinav. You need to think first rather than act on instinct. You will have her in your arms by the end of this mission, safe and sound. But for that you need to take control and not put your team under stress. I want to see you out of there with all of them, not a single one left behind!" I told him as one of the beta wolves came forward, trying not to bend from his aura.
"We have found another way. It wasn't on the blueprint." He managed to tell Abhinav.
Abhinav shut his eyes, trying to come in terms with his wolf. The vampire with his camera at Abhinav turned around, changing his direction and following another door. I was hoping and praying Abhinav wouldn't lose his shit again. Sarah now had her eyes on Abhinav's team.
Letting out a sign of relief the IT team showed me the screens from Alpha Durga and Alpha Thorn as they stalked the entire perimeter of their locations. Ravi had his eyes on Alpha Lee's team who had decided to swim underwater to get on the ship.
"There's a fae around." One of the witches from Durga's team informed us.
"Keep moving." Durga told them as they moved in a circle around the factory, nearing it targeting it on all sides. Stopping wasn't going to help them because they had to be inside sooner before someone else caught their scent.
"Check all entry and exit points first." She linked her team as they did just that. "I smell hunters and rogues." She told us.
"The factory is swarmed with them." She told us, shifting in her skin as she climbed on the shoulders of one of the vampires to peek inside. "Wait! The rogues are locked up in fucking boxes!"
"What?" I asked. Why would the hunters want to work on the rogues who were already feral enough to kill them? Again, not all were feral but a long time without the pack could have made them. Unless, the hunters wanted them to be just that.
Fuck, I had to make a decision now. It was either kill the rogues or keep them alive. "All rogues are stuffed with silver." Another one of her team informed me. "Fuck, there are rogue children in there!" Another one screamed.
I made my decision at that point.
"Leave them be. Take down the hunters first." I shut my eyes and told them, my wolf irritated that we had to sit here and watch.
"I'll need the backup team. Three buildings all filled with them." Durga told us.
"Get them ready and moving towards Durga." I nodded and the coordinator began working.
Goddess, I knew Durga had it in her but I was worried.
"We're moving in." She told us, obviously not waiting for the backup team. That fearless blessing from the goddess was not going to take any one's shit. They made their way in, some of them gliding across the floor and some of them jumping through the windows. The weresnakes shifted and climbed to the top of the building and entered from there.
"The backup team is on their way." The coordinator let us know.
The vampires began their work, tearing their necks apart as the wolves shifted and did the same. The hunters picked up their guns that no doubt had silver bullets in them.
"Find the fae." I told them.
Alpha Thorn was at the security lines of the farmhouse. His team quickly began their work, as they killed the hunter guards placed outside. The farmhouse was huge, and looked more like a Villa. Hedges covered on all four sides of the house.
"I'm guessing we are gonna finish faster." Thorn growled as I saw camera's of some of the vampire's tearing into the hunters. One of them made her way inside with Thorn's wolf as he broke the door open. They began coughing out as soon as they entered, making me shift in my seat. "What's wrong?" I asked.
"Goddess, there's something here. My throat is burning." He told me..
"Get out of there. Seal the place." I told him and he did that.
I could see his wolf gagging, spitting white foam from his mouth. "Thorn, get out of there.! Send the medical team in right now! With backup!" I shouted into the link. I was scared like shit. I didn't want to see anything happening to them. My heart was beating in my chest like a wild drum.
"Blue." Indigo called out from the door, with a worried expression on his face. I gestured him to come inside and he did without wasting a second. He came and sat beside me, pulling a chair for himself. He narrowed his eyes at the screen as Thorn and his team were still managing to deal with the hunters.
Indigo held my hand blocking his emotions and not letting them affect me.
"Is everybody okay?" I asked through the link.
"Yeah. We still have some of them alive for interrogation." One of them replied as the screens moved too fast.
"Alpha Thorn and Heather need help." Someone told me.
"Make them vomit as much as they can." I urgently replied.
Durga's backup team was just minutes away. I focused on her screens as they were fighting off the hunters and dodging bullets at the same time. The dragons had shifted, tearing the hunters apart and managing to throw fire where they could, burning them to ashes.
"Two of us have been hit by a bullet." A werewolf with them informed.
I banged my hand on the table, clenched my fists as my wolf roared in my head. She wanted to see their blood. "Blue, focus." Indigo said beside me without looking at me. I knew I would only see distress in those eyes. Ignoring everything, I focused on the screen.
"The backup team is close. Stall them for a few minutes. Distract them." I told them.
"Abhinav is out with his mate." Cleo smiled.
"Oh thank goddess! Get the girls to the safe house. Begin their treatment." I breathed out.
"Faizan, will you take care of those bastards you still have alive?" I linked the vamp guy who found those poor girls.
"They'll pay for their crimes. I'll make sure to dig deeper and find all those soulless creatures and put them to rest once and for all." He replied, taking a stand himself. These were the guys that kept me going.
"Do what you have to." I told him and linked the ones with Thorn to check on his health.
"Thorn?" I called out.
"I'm okay. Both of us are. Sore throat is all." He told me.
Ricardo's voice came in next, "Look who I found." I saw the screen that showed him, holding a dangling girl in his hand, her head falling forward.
Indigo and I narrowed my eyes at the screen. "This baby was hiding, pretending to be scared." Ricardo said as he smiled wickedly, his wolf on the surface.
He lifted her small head up and showed me her face, making my eyes go wide. The brown skinned petite looking girl with her hands tied behind her back and face beaten and broken was none other than the youngest daughter of Cassion. And Cassion was the right hand of the monster above our heads, Deckard, the main leader of all hunters.
"Ricardo what-" I began but he cut me.
"Now why do you think this little royalty was tied up over here, with the shifters, starved of food, beaten to death?" He asked as he pulled her close and his wolf sniffed her.
What the fuck was Ricardo doing?
"Enough of that Ricardo. Get the girl and-"
"No! I will interrogate her. Leave it to me. I am not taking a no!" He said and pulled the girl with him, going past the vampire.
"Seal the place." I informed the others while I focused on dealing with the ones that needed help first.
The main locations were still pending. Durga's team was still fighting with their lives. I could see blood and bodies flying and laid on the ground, everywhere the camera moved. The backup team had reached and began their work. But all of a sudden the camera's on Durga's team flickered.
"What's wrong?" I questioned the IT team.
"Nothing! We don't know what's happening." they told me.
But in that flickering and in that chaos, our eyes caught something unbelievable. The flickering stopped at once, making everyone in that building come to a halt. Indigo and I moved forward, so did the others watching the scene on the screen. Indigo and I, hypnotized by the two figures that made us slip into a daze, taking us to a hypnotic state.
"Violet." Indigo whispered as all the camera's showed her, smiling and holding a small girl's hand.
Third person's PoV
(Location : At the factory Durga is raiding)
Alpha Durga and her team stopped at once along with the hunters and the rogues, making their already racing hearts race faster. The air grew heavy with the sparkling presence that stood in front of them. The pure power the presence radiated was so intense that the strongest of the strongest present there were brought to their knees.
The warm and charismatic presence had a hue of white wind around its form. Absolutely looking like a fallen angel that breathed purity and grace, the presence held the hand of a small girl, smiling at her like she deserved the world.
Durga's team along with the one's watching on screen were struck with the heavenly power the figure was radiating. They weren't able to resist that divine charisma and that godly aura that had them in its control.
Not being able to move a muscle or link anyone, the whole team could only just keep watching what was happening.
"I've seen you before. I know your name." The small girl that held the presence' hand said, soft and with a cheeky smile.
"I know, Joy. And I will meet you again." It replied, smiling back at the girl whose name was Joy.
"Can I go back to my mommy and daddy?" Joy asked, her smile growing smaller.
"You have to promise me, you will always listen to them. Do you know how worried your mommy is? They're trying to keep you safe, Joy. You have to listen to them, will you?" The presence knelt in front of her, holding out its pinky finger for a promise.
"I promise!" Joy squealed as she poked out her tiny pinky finger and crossed it with the presence in front of her.
The presence smiled and lifted her other hand behind them. Small purple light flew from her fingers collecting at a spot in the air, growing to a size of ball. The ball expanded opening like a liquid trying to tear open into space.
On the other side of the space was a small room where sat a woman and a man, holding eachother, consoling and trying to hide their tears. "Mommy, daddy!" The girl jumped and ran towards them.
"Joy!" The woman got up and gathered her in her arms, peppering kisses all over her head as she held her. The father cried tears of joy, seeing his daughter after a very long time, safe and sound. He gathered the two of them, hugging them close.
The father turned to look back through the space that his daughter had come running from. He bent down and went on his knees, bowing his head. "Thank you. Thankyou for saving my daughter again." He cried and looked back at the presence.
"Her fae is growing stronger, Nelson. It tried to protect her all this time. You need to tell her what she is. It won't be long until she has her wolf. She needs to learn about both her forms before they try going against eachother." The presence replied as the mother and the daughter looked at the presence.
"I will." He nodded and the little girl smiled.
"When will I see you again?" She asked as her mother beside her couldn't stop looking at her.
"Soon, Joy. Remember your promise." The presence told her again.
"Thank you, Violet." Joy said and the liquid screen that looked like a magical portal closed, forming a purple ball again and retrieving back to Violet's fingers.
Indigo and Laura in the room, watching all of this unfold, couldn't believe their eyes. They wanted to move and go check on the sleeping Violet in her room but they weren't able to. They couldn't even if they wanted to.
That was the amount of power Violet possessed.
Violet inside the factory, in her form turned to look back at the mess, pushing back the white hue surrounding her but her aura remained the same.
She dropped her hands and took a deep breath. Exhaling back she let out a small laugh as she closed her eyes. Keeping the same godly aura in place she released her power of healing. White and purple strings of wind started to dance around her like veins on a leaf, her amber eyes glowing and shining. The more it grew around her body it looked like a climber around a support, covering her legs, her hands, her neck, her face.
She walked ahead with the magic surrounding her as the one's in the room stared at her. The feral, growling and snarling rogues that were clawing at the walls of the boxes and banging on the doors of it were beginning to grow quiet. Their clawing losing pace as their growls turned into whines and purrs. Their beasts began giving their humans a chance to look at the world again as they were put back into deep hibernation.
The rogues all healed, their mind free of all the emptiness, wildness which was now replaced by peace and calm. All different shifter rogues held in those cages were ready to begin a new life and go back to their homes, healed of their pain.
Violet's power subsided just as it had risen. "They are now normal shifters like you and me. You never found rogues or a fae. You only found these shifters who were hurting. I was never here. You are to forget everything that happened while I was here and continue with your mission." Violet roared into everyone's link, no one able to go against her power.
Once done she disappeared into thin air in seconds, putting them in a daze..
Laura's PoV
(location : at the pack with Indigo)
Indigo and I gasped as we shut our eyes and opened them again. My attention quickly went back to the screen as more of our team had gathered at the factory and were taking down the hunters.
While Durga's team was dealing with the chaos, Indigo got up from his seat.
"I just want to check on Violet." He said, a drop of sweat dripping down the side of his face. I nodded and he quickly made his way out, making me worried because of his sudden behaviour. On his way he shifted, making me sigh with a smile. His wolf just wanted to have his pup in his arms. My wolf was growling in my head, wanting to be out soon.
I made it a point to give her some freedom the next day.
"Alpha Lee getting into action. Backup team is on their way." Ravi's voice came in.
The screen showed me Lee's cameras, water surrounding all four sides as they rounded the ship. The ship was huge with a lot of movement going on unaware of our warriors bringing this voyage to an end. If we managed to take over the whole ship tonight, a huge hide of these hunters was going to go under water.
I had full faith Alpha Lee was going to take care of it.
