CHAPTER 16: Knight in shining armor

Indigo

After Violet left with Klaus and Jane for her training, I quickly held Laura's hand and pulled her inside with me. I shut the door and pushed her against it and attacked her neck. Her scent was intoxicating and flooding my senses. She let out a loud moan saying my name.

I kissed. I sucked. I licked.

I made sure she had plenty of hickeys to last for at least a day. "This was for not waking me up as you had promised." I told her using my Alpha. My wolf  was eying her's, hungrily. Hungry for his mate.

Before she could say anything further I attacked the other side of her neck making her moan my name again. I again licked her neck, sucked it hard between my lips until I knew it was going to leave a mark.

"Indigo.." She moaned again. She wanted me to kiss her. I smirked.

"What do you want, blue?" I asked, still kissing her neck like it was the damn ice-cream. But she was.. She was my damn ice-cream. My thoughts taking me to lick her whole body, top to bottom, thoroughly.

"Kiss me, Indigo." She said, her eyes closed, fingers grasping my hair. She was trying to move her chest towards mine for more friction. But I wasn't going to give that to her. Yet.

"What would I get in return?" I asked her, moving away from her neck, looking at her. She opened her gorgeous eyes that made me want to give it to her, to kiss her. But I held myself back.

"What do you want?" she asked instead, gulping.

All of you, love, all of you

I moved my hands to her waist and below to cup her round ass. Fuck, I was in trouble. They were just perfect. Her ass fit perfectly in my hands as she closed her eyes, her hands tightening around my shoulders. Her chest rose up again to touch mine.

"Indigo please.." She said, as I squeezed that perfect round butt. I trailed my tongue over her lips, making her open her mouth with a moan, my hands still working with her ass. I pushed my tongue first into her mouth touching her tongue, avoiding kissing her. I moved back, trailing my tongue over her lips again, causing her to shiver.

She groaned and looked at me, "This is how desperate I was for you to come wake me." I told her. She blushed but gripped my hair. Her grip was tighter this time. She used all her strength to pull my mouth closer to hers. And then there it was. She kissed me. She kissed me like she starved of it.

This time I kissed her back. I kissed her with need, hungrily, breathing her scent that was drowning me into her. The scent of her arousal hit my nose. Fuck.

I kissed harder, moving my tongue ferociously. She was a moaning mess. My moaning mess. I pushed my body towards her to feel her. My hands around her round butt, hers in my hair, our body flush against each other, our tongue and teeth doing all the biting and sucking and kissing.

I moved my hands further down her hips to her back thighs. I lifted her up with ease as she locked her legs around my waist. We did not stop kissing. Our heads moved left and right to take more from each other.

I took her to my room, now sucking her neck at the already red-spots. I did not want them to heal soon enough. I kept working on them until I sat on the bed with her legs still around my waist. She was now sitting on my lap moaning and breathing deeply.

I pulled back and looked at her. She was smiling already with her eyes still closed. I squeezed her butt again and she opened her eyes.

"You're so beautiful." I told her. She blushed and dipped low to rest her head on my chest. I moved back on the bed and laid with her on top of me. She adjusted herself over me being careful of my very hard bulge.

I chuckled and hugged her to me, kissing her hair. "Wanna go on a date again?" I asked her.

"I'd love to." She replied smiling and putting a hand on my chest and rested her chin on top of it.

Just perfect.

I caressed her beautiful face. Every time I was with her she reminded me how lucky and blessed I was to have her as my mate.

We slept there for an hour or so. We got up to remind each other that there was a lot of work to be done. She was going to continue her sessions again from today. I had to get back to all the pending work plus I had dad's office to look into. I had to make time for that.

We got ready and left the house together. I linked Klaus, enquiring about Violet. He told me she wasn't giving up on herself. She was doing everything Jane told her without complaints and had started setting her own target sets even though she was collapsing.

Just like dad. Never giving up on anything.

We went to see Laura's parents really quickly. I told them I had to go see the warriors today and I left after dropping off my mate to work. I reminded her to think about me with a long drawn kiss which left her breathless. The pack sitting inside was beaming with pride and respect. They already believed in her. My Luna had already made her way through their hearts and this feeling of wholeness that I felt was what made me a happy man. I just wished they didn't trouble her with Violet's information.

I headed to the training grounds to check with Vicky and Kaya. Kaya was Jane's, let's just say, two point zero. She was just as hard as Jane and trained the female warriors. The warriors bowed to me, seeing me after five months. We quickly started to see the ones Vicky had selected to spare. They were all good. No doubt Vicky had their backs.

Vicky would go from friend to a head warrior and reverse with the warriors. That's how they took a liking towards him but scared of him as ever. There were a few I needed to spare with example my asshole of a best friend Eli.

When I went to see Laura's parents they told me both Eli and Logan played games all night and were now sleeping their asses off at Eli's place. Every Alpha needed that, some real stress free game time. I guess he got along with Eli more than me, seeing the fact that my sister was his potential.

He wasn't scared, but he knew it was better to keep distance than to make the bond more complicated, along with the fact that I wasn't going to let my sister go away from me so soon. I did not see any change in Violet's behavior though. I guess she did not feel it.

I spared with the adept ones first, giving them instructions here and there. It felt good to spare after so many months, get some sweat off me but Eli was on my top list. I wouldn't go easy on him this time.

I checked on the female warriors with Kaya. I noticed Mila, hiding behind, trying to get away from my view. Fuck, we needed to talk. Mila and I were good friends. We liked each other but we knew to never make it a thing. We did spend some good time with each other but she knew to not take a hold of it. I didn't want it to be awkward between us. We were really good friends and I hoped she felt the same. I could tell she was hurt but she had to know this was my mate and her Luna we were talking about.

I'd have to make sure I talk to her sometime later.

I went back to the pack house and into my office. I remembered I had to send someone to collect Violet's stuff. I linked Alistair to come see me in my office.

I quickly got to finish my pending work. Sometime later Alistair told me he would be a little late because Lianna was getting him worked up with morning sickness. He was to see her to a doctor. Apparently that was going to calm his wolf.

So I waited for him, getting back to my work. I linked Klaus again to know if they were done for today. He told me that he brought her home. He noticed her appetite was growing which was good. She needed to eat a lot anyway.

I linked Laura to know if she was done with the pack sessions. "You done?"

"Yup. I am going home with Villa to discuss the events. Thought we could give Violet something to think of." She told me.

"Great. Did they bother you about anything else?" I asked her. I knew my pack wouldn't but I had to ask them. Not all of them were the same.

"Not one bit." She told me as I felt her smile. "They put their faith in you, Indigo. They probably want you to open up to them."

"I will. One day." I told her, leaning back in my chair. "Anyways. What did mom and dad say?" I asked her.

"They told me they would leave tomorrow morning. Logan is needed in the pack." She replied, sounding a little sad.

"You want to spend the day with them today?" I asked her.

"I was planning the same thing. I'll stay with them today. My wolf wants to too." She told me.

It was just a night, Indigo.

"Fine. But I will be getting more than a kiss tomorrow." I said, demandingly.

She laughed, "Patience patience, Alpha."

You've got to be kidding me mate!

"Don't make me come home right now, drag you back to bed and then maybe I'll show you patience." I warned her.

"Hoe behaviour." She teased.

"Laura." I warned her again as I was losing my patience over her.. I wanted to put my personal tattoos on her neck again.

"Fine!" She laughed again, "I'll let Violet know I won't be there for dinner."

"I'll come see your parents later." I told her.

I didn't know what was going on in her dad's head though. He used to be observant of me since the day he first saw me at the council, always giving me a cold glare. Every alpha did but I ignored them all. I didn't know what was the deal with him at that time. I didn't ask Klaus either. He used to tell me if it was my dad, he'd smile at it and walk away.

I had to talk to her dad alone before they left. I knew now that he wouldn't risk anything for his daughter and even for Violet. Klaus told me they used to be friends but after dad they had lost contact. Packs getting involved in other packs' business wasn't appreciated much.

Alistair came later while his mate joined Laura at our place. I linked Jane, Eli and Vicky to join us. Ali took a seat in front of me as I asked him, "How's Lianna now?"

He laughed and said, "I'm having the time of my life."

"Good for you." I said, smiling. Vicky and Eli came in bickering about something. Jane was behind them looking least interested as she strode ahead of them. They took their seats and looked up at me. Eli clearly looked like he had woken up not long ago.

"Who do you think we can send to collect Violet's stuff?" I asked them. I wasn't going to let just anyone with her stuff. They had to be strong and smart if there was anyone they met who would question them. They had to be prepared. I was not going to take any risks when it involved her.

If someone had tried to hide her so well for all these years there must be a reason. And I wasn't going to quit until I found that person and the reason he or she hid her.

"I can go myself if you want." Eli suggested. I nodded.

"But you need to take someone with you." Jane said, knowingly.

"We can send Paulo and Arnold with him." Alistair said, his fingers under his chin while he leaned his elbow on the armrest. Vicky nodded at that.

Paulo and Arnold were our best warriors with Arnold also a damn good tracker. He worked along with Ali and was a very smart hacker as well. Paulo on the other hand was like Vicky's left hand. In Vicky's and Alistair's absence he was the one who looked into the training. A good archer as well.

"Okay. Eli, talk to them and get them ready. You will be leaving tomorrow along with Laura's family in the morning." He nodded.

"Ask her for the address." Alistair asked. I nodded and linked her.

"Hey, little one."

"Ohh Hi bro." She said, her voice jumpy.

"I need your address so we can get your stuff." I told her.

"Yeah. Let me concentrate. You can hear me right?" she asked.

"Yes, I can hear you, Violet." I told her with a chuckle. Eli let out a big yawn. Vicky quickly threw a small stone that he had into Eli's mouth. Eli coughed it out gagging and growling. That was it about Vicky, he had some or the other object in his pocket. Always. Never left his house without one.

We all laughed at him while Eli gave Vicky a scowl face. Vicky rolled his eyes and looked at me.

Violet told me her address, very slowly as she kept asking me if I could hear her clearly. I kept assuring her again and again. She needed to learn to feel the links in her head. I wrote down the address she told me and handed it to Ali.

"It'll take two days back and forth. And you will need to stay a day more I guess to collect her stuff." Alistair told Eli. He nodded again.

"Violet should talk to her brooker before they reach there. They won't just allow anyone to take away her stuff." Ali said, looking at me.

"I know. I'll ask her to make a call later." I told him.

"What about the map?" I asked Ali.

He shook his head in a no. "Nothing yet. I've got the scent though. I'll have the warriors that go into town every month take a note of the scent. Might as well receive something. I'll have them look into that hospital Violet told us about."

"Okay. Vicky, Jane we need the most adept ones going to the town next time. I do not want my warriors harmed because of some witch. We still don't know Violet's connections in town. Her going to Silver Summit must've slipped." I said, trying to control my anger.

"Why do you think someone hid her? I mean I don't understand. We were all here. They could have just sent her back home." Jane said.

"That is what is eating me. I don't understand either. We won't know until we find that person." I told her.

"Also the Silver Summit. I have a feeling there is something weird going on there." Vicky said. "I just don't want Violet to know anything about that place. Not until she is ready." They cared for her so much. One reason for me being strong here, sitting on this chair right now was them.

"I feel the same. Didn't you guys notice anything there?" Alistair asked, looking at me and Eli.

"You've been there." Eli pointed out.

"Once!" Alistair rolled his eyes.

"Seriously, you guys didn't notice anything? There must be something?"

"Nothing uncommon. We only used to go to the council hall for meetings and stayed in the dorms. What happens with Silver Summit, stays with them. You know the size of it. Plus the council quarters are far away from their main pack land." Eli told them.

"The witch told her that her cure is at Silver Summit." Jane said, raising her eyebrows, making it look like she was saying the obvious.

"Fuck no!" Alistair said, shifting in his seat.

Why the fuck did she have to bring it up?

"Her mate is her cure.." Eli whispered, making me shut my eyes.

"But we don't know for sure! It could be something else." Jane quickly jumped in. "Silver Summit has been silent..."

"How?" I asked her, growing impatient. As if the thought of Vincent being her mate wasn't enough!

"Have you noticed around these six-seven years, how we don't get any information from there? Earlier Silver Summit..it used to be the talk of the town. Now there's hardly anything we get to know about that place." She said, I couldn't stop thinking about what she said because it was true. Silver Summit had almost isolated itself over the years. The others nodded too.

"The next time we go to that meeting, we are definitely talking to people and checking around." I told Eli. I and Eli didn't usually talk with the other Alphas and their betas because they thought we were cruel. They used to talk about us behind our backs but never once said it to our face. Cowards. And they called themselves Alphas.

We only got well with Vincent because he knew the truth. Some others were good too but only to keep the alliance between families. The council however, was good to us. Never questioned us and well, there wasn't anything to question in the first place.

"Okie-dokie. Plus we'll have Luna come with us. And she is smarter than you." Eli said, beaming a smile.

Well, he was right..

"I'm thinking of letting Violet join the pack like the others. We'll know if her wolf reacts to it." I told them.

"There are two good months for that. We can check how well she does this full moon. Before this she wasn't a part of the pack and you said you felt her aura after she entered pack lines. Maybe this time she feels less of what she goes through." Jane said, intertwining her fingers in front of her.

"But again probability is she might feel more pain because of the same reason. The pack would make her wolf stronger." I told them. They hummed. I was already worried. I didn't know how to help her yet.

"Luna and the pack doctors could try and help with something to ease her pain. There gotta be a way." Jane said, her hands wide while speaking as she intertwined them again.

"You need to slowly let her out, Indigo. Let her meet the pack. If she says she feels the bonds then she'll know who to trust and who to not. That witch swore a blood oath to her and she felt it. Maybe start with her friends from back then." Vicky said, softly. I ran a hand through my hair. I wasn't ready to get her out of my den yet. I knew I had to and they were right. Laura told me the same thing.I wanted to but I just couldn't. I know my pack, they'd be happy seeing her alive but I still wasn't ready myself.

"I know. I just need some more time. It has hardly been days since she has been here." I told him.

"We are with you in this, Alpha. She is our responsibility too. She is pack." Vicky said. I smiled and nodded.

"I'll start looking into it more." Ali told us.

"Did you ask Alpha Terrawater if they know about someone named Raven?" Eli asked.

"Yup, but he said he doesn't know. He said he'll look into it himself and gave me his word." I told him.

"Dad had once told me he met with him. He said he was fun to go with." Vicky told us.

"What made him change his mind about me?" I asked no one in general. But Jane knew the question was directed to her. She shifted slightly in her seat without letting the others notice. I wasn't going to be mad at her. She was doing it to protect the pack.

But I still had a doubt that Jane had a part in changing his mind about me. I had to talk to him myself.

"Maybe, Violet." Vicky said, unaware of it. I hummed.

"Jane, keep digging from your sources about Silver Summit. Eli, get Paulo and Arnold ready, I'll meet them in the evening. In the coming days, I'll introduce Laura to the pack as Luna." I told them and they beamed with joy. All of them left after some time and went back to work.

I went home to have lunch. While I was leaving I heard Violet's phone ring. It was that witch Raven. I wanted to jump into the phone and grap her throat and pull her in here.

Which I knew was not possible. Dammit!

Violet talked to her way too nicely and to my surprise Raven sounded genuine. She even called her a sweet girl. I told Violet to ask her to meet her but she said she'd meet Violet when she heads back to town.

And that wasn't happening.

I took her phone so Alistair could keep a track on it and link it to his. I guess she didn't have anything important in her phone the way she gave it right away.

So no boyfriend. Good.

She went to sleep, tired from all the workout that had exhausted her body. I went back to meet Paulo and Arnold who were waiting with Eli.

"Alpha." They greeted me.

"Paulo. Arnold. Good to see you." I told them. Eli came to stand beside me.

"Eli must have explained to you about everything." I asked them.

"Yes. Um, I wanted to say that, I know who she is and you have no reason to worry about it. We'll be careful, we promise." Paulo said, a bit on the edge worried about my reaction.

"I trust my warriors." I told him with a hand on his shoulder.

"Also, uh, I'm sorry. I know it's your decision but the pack wants to meet her. They are happy is all I can say." Arnold said this time.

The pack was happy. But again the more people know the more she will be at risk.

"Some day, sure. For now, keep it low." I told them and they nodded.

"Goddess! Eli kept saying you'd kill me if I talked to you about her." Paulo said, leaving a breath and looking at Eli.

Asshole.

"You didn't have to tell him that, dipshit." Eli countered, looking at Paulo.

"I'll give your licenses and Id's to Eli along with the keys of the truck." I told them.

"Yup. Anything else that we have to do, Alpha." Arnold asked.

"Meet Ali before you go. He'll tell you the rest." They nodded. I went on a run around the east of the pack and then south. I went to see the pups who had shifted in my absence. They were all good and healthy.

"Alpha!" The little wolf, Issac, came running through the door. He stood in front of me with his tongue out and blood smeared all over his muzzle. His mother Xena came out right behind him along with his father, Zach who was in his wolf form.

I bent down to his level, brought my wolf forward and looked into his eyes. He took a few steps back and pushed his head on the ground, showing me his neck.

"Alpha." He said through the link. Boy had learnt to link well. My wolf pushed back, knowing Issac was all well. I ran a hand around his fur and brought his head up from the ground.

"You're a strong wolf, Issac." I told him through the link. He started wagging his tail as his parents came and stood beside him. Both of them bowed to me.

"Guess you guys were in the middle of a meal." I said and Xena nodded, looking at her pup. His father licked the blood from his face.

I visited the other two after. Melissa's wolf had a deep cut on her right leg while she was learning to shift. She had jumped off the wrong way landing on a sharp edgy cut out log. Her parents told me she wasn't allowed to shift back for some days.

I made sure I ran while I was to see them. My body needed this after a long time of not shifting. It helped me keep my mind at ease, away from thinking too much. I went back home around six in the evening and found Laura and her parents there with Klaus, Lianna and Villa. I quickly went in to take a shower.

While I was coming out of my room, I heard Violet start to walk down the steps, yawning and rubbing her eyes. She was gliding one hand on the wall next to the steps while she was moving one step at a time, slowly, making sure she didn't fall.

I stood below and as soon as she saw me, her steps grew quicker and she jumped in my arms. "Careful, little one." I told her and heard Laura's father chuckle.

"Hungry?" I asked her.

"Yeah, no." She said, in a sleepy voice, unsure. We walked into the living room with her still in my arms. She yawned again and went to the kitchen to drink water.

I went to sit beside Laura and kissed her crown. Her father was eyeing me while her mother looked at us smiling. Violet came out of the kitchen and went straight to sit with Klaus. She had grown on him in just three days. It made my wolf happy, seeing a father figure who cared for her in our absence.

He chuckled and kissed her crown. "So Violet, should we expect to see a warrior the next time we meet you?" Laura's father asked.

She smiled and looked at Klaus and then back at him saying, "Yeah, I mean, why not."

"She'll be ready to spare with you by then." Klaus said, proudly.

"Yup. I'll be the Alpha you all want me to be." She said, raising her head high. Lianna whistled at her.

Damn! She made my heart swell with pride with her words. Everyone in the room was captivated by her response.

If mom and dad were here, they would have been over the moon.

We talked some more while having snacks. Logan was at the cabin his parents were staying in. I did not want him to feel left out while we were here but at the same time I did not want him to meet Violet.

Laura's mother assured me that he was sleeping because he had to drive the long way this time. They weren't going to take the Midnight pack route while going back. Even Eli was going to take the long route to town.

"Can we talk?" I asked Laura's father. He nodded and got up. Laura was a little anxious about us. Klaus and her mother were trying not to smile. Violet was looking at me with her big eyes. I winked at her and left the house behind her father.

We walked quietly not too far but far enough for them to not hear us.

"What is it?" Alpha Lucca asked.

"I want to know what changed your mind?" I wanted to know the real reason he accepted us. Because how could one person who was adamant on taking his daughter home just let it be. A person who despised me every time he saw me leave his only daughter with.

He smiled and shook his head. "You remember the first time we met at the council?" I nodded. "I felt a bond with you."

What? Why didn't I?

"You are Luciano's son Indigo. I had no doubt about you in the first place. I just wanted to keep safe what was left of that man. So I played along with the rumors. My wolf made me. We knew this bond was just nothing. It had to be related." He said, looking elsewhere.

"Why didn't you tell me before?" I asked him.

"Because of that bond. I had a feeling it was going to be related. So we wanted to know you more not as Luciano's son but for who you were. I kept an eye on your moves and learnt more about you." He told me. That made sense.

He didn't have to get Laura worried though.

I smiled and nodded. "But along with the rumors, you are forgetting that your father was a respected man. His name is taken with pity, seeing you are his son." He said with a hard face. I knew about it.

"People have mouths, Alpha. I wouldn't give a damn about what they think. My father and my pack know who I am and what I am and now you do too. I have nothing to worry about." I told him, looking in the eye. His wolf was assessing mine.

He nodded his head, looking elsewhere. I could feel it was heavy on his heart to let his daughter go. "You have to be a lot more careful, Indigo. As much as it is difficult for me, I know it is going to be with you. My daughter is the smartest person I know and I know she won't mess up with whatever she is doing. But I fear. I fear it would come at the expense of her life. If you think I had let her and the vampires that she calls her godparents alone all this time, then you are wrong." His eyes now met mine as he continued. "I've been there in the shadows, my pack has been too, not because I don't believe in her but because I love her so much that it kills me to everytime I wake from some horrible dream. Any harm coming to her is the last thing I'd wish for."

I breathed out. "I understand what you must be going through and I appreciate you are preparing me for it. She's my mate, alpha. I will protect her with my life. You have my word. My pack would do the same. They would throw themselves in front of her before even a hair on hers is harmed." I told him, genuinely.

He nodded his head with a sigh. He put a hand on my shoulder and said,  "Crystal Pearl will always stand by you whenever you need us."

"And so will Crescent Moon, Alpha Lucca." I told him.

"It's dad to you now. But call me as you please." He said, narrowing his eyes and moving back, stuffing his hands in his pockets.

He wants me to call him dad? Dad!

All I could do was nod but my wolf stomped his feet. He wanted to know what it felt like to call someone dad. He had never really got a chance to see his parents. It was the least I could do for him. "Dad." I whispered. My wolf was more than happy.

Alpha Terrawater looked at me and a small smile graced his lips. He moved another step back and said, "Take care of my daughter. She is a part of my soul, Indigo. You have no idea how hard it is for me to leave her here."

Damn. I don't know what I'll do when Violet finds her mate.

"I will. She is now my soul too." I replied.

She's my knight in shining armor..
