CHAPTER 14 : A proud father

Picture above is Luca(Laura's Father) and Laura as a child.

Laura

"Why do I smell a human potential here?" Logan asked. I was sure hell was going to break loose at this point. Everyone grew stiff. Mom and dad sniffed too. It wasn't like they wouldn't smell her. Alphas could smell better.

I looked at everyone and Eli quickly came to stand behind Indigo. He knew the consequences if Logan even dared to step anywhere near Violet.

"Why is there a human in your pack?" Dad roughly asked Indigo. He was still angry with everything. He calmed down a bit when I ran to him and hugged him. Although mom looked more level-headed than dad.

"Dad, please rest for a while, we'll explain." I insisted.

"No. It happens now and we leave after that." He said, still looking at Indigo.

"Fine. Can we atleast talk inside?" I asked, pointing to the pack house. He kept throwing daggers at Indigo through his eyes but eventually nodded.

Oh thank goddess! For now at least.

I could feel all of Indigo's emotions. He wanted to go for Logan's neck but he did not. For me. Not like Logan had tried to run after her. No one saw this coming. My brother was Violet's potential mate but I knew he had waited for his fate mate all these years although I knew he had hanky panky relations with some girls in and outside the pack.

He wouldn't go after Violet. That was the one thing I was sure about.

If he did, I myself would stop him. So, yeah.

I linked Indigo, "You alright?"

"You think. I'm trying to not lose it." He paused, taking in a breath and then continued, "But you don't worry. I know Logan wouldn't want to go after Violet. As for you, you are not leaving." He said in a very distressed but alpha voice. I wouldn't ever know what must be going on in his head.

I don't know how he was controlling himself when Logan said it. He did not even growl and I knew that he was scaring the shit off out of his pack members. They were able to feel his emotions better.

I could only feel him emotionally fighting to stay calm and think straight. He did not want to hurt my family nor his. All we needed to do was tell dad about it.

All of us came inside where the chairs were already set around the meeting room. I walked beside mom and dad asking them to relax and to not link anyone. Logan came beside me and pulled my arm. Logan was going to be Logan and I could tell he was trying to come to conclusions with his wolf. I gave him a look but he pulled me with him. He gave me a quick side hug, holding my shoulder and squishing me. "You are going to crush me, you asshole!" I laughed. I hugged him back as I put my hand around his waist.

"So?" He began with a raised brow.

"What?" I asked, annoyed with my brother.

"Is this human the reason you asked me to keep quiet?" He asked, now narrowing his eyebrows.

"Yes. And now I have another reason to call you trouble." I simply replied, remembering the last time he called me trouble.

"Your's is a bigger problem here, trouble." He scoffed. True. Dad only talked about taking me home. I wanted to tell him how my wolf feels about Violet. She cared for her and so did I. She was her mate's pup and she had accepted it, lovingly.

Dad's only reason to not keep me here were the rumors about this pack. And also with the rumours about Indigo. He was worried for me that's all. In all of this chaos, I still believed Indigo. My wolf and I were positive that they were only just rumors. I believed he was a nice man. A caring, loving mate. My mate. I trusted him with dad. I trusted him he would take it as calmly as possible with my dad's anger. He had promised me to make it alright.

I knew he would.

I gave my brother a death glare and we hurried inside. Indigo went to his office first. I knew he needed to calm down. I wanted to run behind him to hug him to help him calm down but the situation wasn't right. I could feel his frustration, his agony through the bond. He was so restless. My wolf whined in the back of my head for her mate. I pushed healthy emotions through our bond to assure him I was there for him and with him.

Mom and dad took a seat on the right as Villa and Vicky helped them. I sat in front of them with Logan beside me. Eli stood at the side, waiting for Indigo of course. Alistair and Vicky stood at the sides while Villa hurried to the kitchen.

"Alpha Terrawater. Luna," Eli looked at my brother and my parents, bowing to them, "I'm Beta Eli Ambrose. That is Alistair Vernize, our Delta and our head warrior Vicky Mathew and his mate Villa." He introduced them. They gave him a curt nod. Logan however, smiled at him. I was sure they had met.

Villa was quick. She brought them water and juice and some evening snacks to eat. Amidst all of it she did not forget the hospitality towards another Alpha. I thanked her through the link as mom and dad thanked her too.

I heard Indigo coming down the stairs. He came down and he stood behind me. "Get up." He said, his tone sharp but soft at the same time.

What the hell was he doing?

My parents watched us curiously. I turned to look at him to find his eyes were already on me.

My eyes conveyed what I wanted to say without saying it. "Your place is there," he pointed to the chair at the centre of the table. "Beside me," he added. He put his hand out for me to take.

I kept looking into his eyes as he waited for me. So I got up. I got up and took his hand. I swear I could feel my dad's burning eyes on us. He walked with me ahead of him, still holding my hand. The others were awfully silent.

There was literal pin-drop silence around us.

He pulled out my chair making me sit and went to sit in his seat. He looked at my father and continued without any formalities, "The human you smell is my little sister. She is alive and I found her only two nights ago." His tone was serious and subdued. My parents narrowed their eyes while Logan shifted in his seat.

I don't know what this man did up there in his office. I was stunned he was trusting my father with Violet's information.

"How is that possible?" Dad asked, not believing him.

"Are you sure, Alpha Indigo?" Mom asked him.

"I am." It was his short reply.

"She does smell like Alpha Luciano." My dad said looking at mom and then wiped his own face. He was thinking about something.

"She does," Eli said with a tight-lipped smile. I held Indigo's hand below the table. The mentioning of his father moved him a little. He didn't show it though.

"I expect this information to remain only with you." Indigo said, taking their attention.

Dad scoffed, "You think nobody can smell her. Her scent will be carried with the wind to the others. What then?" Dad asked.

"Sure. But I want to keep it low as long as possible. My pack will not go against my word, Alpha Terrawater. I need your word." Indigo simply stated, looking into my dad's eyes.

"Dad please. I care about her. He trusted you with this and that is the reason he called you here." I pleaded.

"Fine. It is only because I respect your father. He was a nice and wise man. The wisest of all I can say. But what about you?" Dad asked, leaning back in his chair.

"What about me, Alpha Terrawater?" Indigo asked, looking calm as ever.

Fuck.

"You think you can protect her with that ruthless beast inside you? I know what you are. Your actions have proved enough of your worth. I will be taking my daug-"

"She is not leaving this pack and it is final. As for my sister, I and my pack will protect her." Indigo cut him, still calm.

"You do not want to do this, Indigo." Dad growled.

"She is my mate and the rightful Luna of this pack. She stays while you are welcome to stay here as long as you want." Indigo told him nonchalantly.

Dad stood up and so did mom. "Laura, go get your bags."

"Dad! Don't do this." I whined. Indigo stood up when I did.

"He's her mate, dad." Logan said, his wolf already on the surface. But his demeanor was calm.

"You want your sister in the hands of a merciless ruthless monster," he shouted, causing Indigo to growl.

I couldn't take it anymore. This was not what I wanted. I thought dad was accepting him when Indigo made me sit with him. Dad did not say anything at the time.

I looked at mom for help but she just stood there alongside her mate without saying a word. I knew she wanted to help but I also knew she was going to stick by his side. It was only her that could get him to understand things. Tears had formed in my eyes by now.

"Our Alpha is not what you think he is, Alpha Lucca." Eli said. Indigo's as well as dad's fists were clenched so hard, they could destroy this place in seconds. My wolf was whining, stomping her feet, wanting her father to understand her.

"Well, well." Dad laughed. "Aren't you the same as him? What do they call you, the duo, is it?" Dad said, sarcastically. Bad sarcasm.

"I trust them, dad. They are not what you say they are!" I told him, tears flowing down my face. His eyes shifted back to me, softening only slightly before going back to being angry.

Suddenly dad let out a frustrated growl, looking at me. He pushed his chair back, as it scraped the floor with the screeching noise. He stormed out of the pack house with mom on his feet. Indigo looked at Vicky and Vicky quickly went after my dad with a nod.

My father, the best person in my life, was angry with me. He was angry because I trusted them. It was the last thing I wanted. I broke down, clutching the table in front of me, not caring if the pack was going to see me like this. Indigo quickly pulled my hands away from the table and gathered me in a hug. This pain was all I feared all along. It was agonizing.

"He just needs to fully accept it, blue. He already has but he is refusing because he doesn't want you to not be home." Indigo said, pulling me tighter into his chest, kissing my crown.

"He's right, Laura. He knows things going over here. He wouldn't have come here like this to take you back in the first place if he knew something was wrong." Logan said. "He'll be fine once he calms down." I was breathing hard now. My heart was aching to see my dad like this.

"How do you know?" I asked them. "He's mad at me. He hates me." I cried more.

"No, he is not. He would never hate you, you know it better Laura." Logan said again.

"Look at me, blue." Indigo said softly. My fists were clenched on his shirt. I slowly looked up at him. He wiped my tears quickly but they weren't stopping. All the pent up emotions were coming to surface along with my tears.

"You trust me, right?" he asked me. Goddess! I trusted him and it led me to this. Knowing it was no use, I nodded.

"Then you have nothing to worry about." He simply said.

"Luna, please don't cry." Alistair said from where he was standing. I looked at him and managed to form a smile. It warmed my heart and at that more tears came rolling down my eyes.

Get a grip, Laura.

"I'm trying not to but they are just..." I said and put my head on Indigo's chest, crying some more. Eli and Logan chuckled.

"Man, I'm really tired from all that driving. We hardly took a stop or two for not more than two minutes." Logan said, rubbing his neck.

I looked at him with teary eyes, "Thanks." I said and pulled away from Indigo as I moved towards him.

"Aye! The struggle is real for a brother who loves his sister," Logan said cockily, wiping the fake sweat off his forehead. I laughed at him and so did everyone in the room as he pulled me into a hug. He shook me while I was still in his arms and sang again, "Trouble, trouble everywhere!" I hit his arm as he laughed along with the others.

"We should go check on mom and dad." I told him. I needed to know he was alright. He was hurt. He was hurt because of me.

"He'll be back when he calms down, blue. I have sent Vicky to look for them." Indigo said and I nodded, sighing.

"Your mate is right. Give him time." Logan said as he looked back at me. "Oh wait! I think you've grown quite fat, trouble." I gave him a look but he gathered me in a hug and lifted me up, grunting fakely. "Shit! My back." He dropped me down with a thud and massaged his own back. Eli and Ali were trying to control their laughter.

I gave him my scarliest look possible. "You're acting like a girl, bitch."

Ha!

"You are so dead." He warned me and I rolled my eyes. Suddenly, Indigo grew stiff. His eyes grew wide and he looked at me.

"Lauuuraaaaaa!" Violet's voice screamed in my head, echoing through the depts of my soul. I looked at Indigo and Eli while Logan pressed his eyebrows together.

Within a second we were running home. "Eli, stay here with Alpha Logan. Alistair with us," Indigo said out loud, almost growling. His wolf had already taken over.

Shitt!

Indigo looked more freaked out right now than he did when he knew Logan was her potential mate. We tried linking Klaus and Lianna but they weren't answering. We also tried linking Violet but her walls were up. This was the first time she had linked someone since she came here. Nor did Indigo mention about her talking to him through the link.

The fuck was wrong? Why weren't they responding?

Alistair was running at a speed I didn't know he could run with. He was really fast. A frustrated growl came from him as we ran. His wolf had also taken over, worried for his mate and his child. I could feel him trying to give it up to his wolf.

We ran home as fast as we could. In a minute or so we were home. Literally! Indigo ran inside first and pushed the door open with a loud thud to see Violet sitting in front of Lianna and Klaus while Klaus had Layla sitting on his lap. Alistair pushed past me and ran towards his mate.

Indigo jumped in front of Violet and pulled her to him. His eyes were shining bright amber. He looked at her, examined her for any injuries first as his whole body shook with fury.

But. She was perfectly alright. Head to toe.

They all were.

"WHY DID YOU SCREAM?!" He questioned her, growling. Shit! I could feel his anger trying to rise but he kept it in for her. I made my way inside and tried to understand what was happening, instead of freaking out. Alistair gave Lianna a look I didn't think suited him. He was so pissed.

"What's wrong?" She asked him.

"It worked, Violet." Klaus said, taking our attention.

Scaring the shit out of us, you mean!

Indigo growled angrily at him. "What is wrong with you guys?" He looked at Lianna and Klaus. Alistair looked mad, too. He just stood there looking at his mate.

"They were teaching me how to link someone. I didn't know you heard me." Violet said, avoiding eye contact with him, her voice growing smaller at the end.

Indigo breathed out, "Why were your links closed?" He asked Lianna and Klaus, clearly pissed at them. Poor Layla ran to me.

"Violet! Girl, if you wanted to link him, you shouldn't have screamed at least!" Lianna exclaimed, with a small smile stretching her face, shaking her head as she rubbed Alistair's arm.

Indigo turned to Violet. Her expressions were full of mischief. She wasn't scared of him as she kept looking at Klaus and then the wall and then Alistair and then Indigo again and then back to the wall, clearly trying to avoid eye contact with anyone in the room.

She knew she was in trouble. I wasn't wrong when I said she was going to be a handful.

"I um, it's not their fault. They were teaching me how to push some walls in their heads and, uhmm... and then I tried to do it but I couldn't and then.. I thought of.. that..uh.. calling you and Laura to let you guys know I could, you know, do that telepathy or link thing with you guys. I did not know you heard me." She said, waving her hands at everything, looking here and there and stuttering on purpose.

I had to say she looked like a child trying to reason with her parents. A smile stretched my lips while she was trying her best to get out of the situation. Klaus was trying to surpass his smile too. Even Layla giggled at her defensiveness.

"Look at me, Violet," Indigo said. She slowly looked at him with pleading eyes.

Holy shit! Those doe eyes worked!

Indigo literally did melt with her looking at him like that. "Do you have any idea what that scream did to me?" Indigo asked her, folding his hands in front of him. He wasn't angry with her anymore, rather emotions of pride were coming from him. He was proud she was able to link him on her own.

Violet lowered her head and said, "I'm sorry."

Klaus walked forward and raised her head. "Lesson one. Alpha's do not lower their heads. Got it." He said as she looked at him. She nodded her head, with that mischief still in her eyes. She knew she had escaped this whole thing easily.

"Damn you guys almost gave us a heart-attack." Alistair said with one hand on his waist and the other pinching the bridge on his nose.

"Oh baby!" Lianna cooed as she hugged him sideways, making him pull her to him.

Goodness, their height difference had me everytime.

"Next time, at least give me an idea about it." Indigo told them and he hugged Violet.

"Alpha, Luna. I think Alpha Lucca is fine now. We are headed back to the pack house." Vicky's voice came through the link.

I looked at Indigo and he nodded to me. I had to talk to dad now. It was going to be difficult but he had to understand I wished to be here now. This was going to be my new home.

Urgh! It didn't sound right and I knew it was going to sound worse to mom and dad. It ached me, being away from them. But how I wanted to stay here for Violet, for Indigo, for my new pack because these feelings of being a Luna were pushing me to do what was right.

We walked back to the pack house after letting Klaus know what had happened since my parents arrived. He smiled knowingly, assuring us that dad was going to be understanding. We also told him, Violet was Logan's potential and he almost growled. I laughed and said, "You have nothing to worry about Klaus." However, he still did not sound okay.

Before we left, he and Indigo had a conversation of their own. Goddess, they were so ready to rip anyone apart for her. Mom and dad were already in the pack house. Mom was having a talk with Villa, while dad sat beside her spaced out. I went in along with Indigo, holding his hand.

"Sorry for making you wait, Alpha Terrawater." Indigo said but dad didn't reply.

"Is everything okay?" Logan asked. Indigo gave him a nod and I assured him with a smile.

"Dad." I called him. Only his eyes moved, his chin resting on his fingers. I could see how lost he was. He did not even say a word and that silence was killing me more. "Can we talk?" I asked him. He got up without saying a word. I looked at mom and she smiled at me, giving me a thumbs up. It meant his alpha had accepted everything that was happening here.

"Luna, the lane we took the other day." Villa quickly said, as I got up. Indigo caught my hand and kissed it, giving it a squeeze.

I walked out to see dad waiting for me. We walked quietly beside eachother, without saying a word to each other. I did not know what to say to him.

Ever since I told him I was going to another country to study medicine, he had been supporting me. He had been there for me above everything. He was my biggest cheerleader and my biggest supporter.

But at that moment I realised, I wasn't able to be there for him all these years because of my studies, internships and even after I became a doctor. I had to stay in other packs to complete my sessions. It was him who came to meet me all the time, rather than me going to meet him.

I knew I had a busy schedule with all the studies plus travelling across countries and putting myself at risk. It's not like I didn't visit them. I did. During the holidays, during the pack events or sometimes when I used to get a long leave. But now it felt like it wasn't enough. I should have visited more. It felt so less that I did for them.

We walked some more, away from the pack house. "I know what you are thinking, Princess." He said and put his left arm out for me to embrace. I quickly went to his side and let him hug me, while we were still walking.

"I'm sorry." I told him. I was sorry for everything at this point. Tears pricked my eyes as we walked.

"You don't have to be sorry, Laura. I knew this day was going to come one or the other day. I also know what you were thinking about. Do not feel sorry for those things. You have made me so proud all these years. So damn proud." He looked at me with a smile and continued, "You know what, all these years they just called me Alpha Terrawater, but now they call me Dr. Laura's father Alpha Teraawater. That is one big ass name but I feel lifted. I feel like I have achieved something and deep down there I thank you over and over because you are the reason. My little angel is the reason I feel so good and proud." He said, looking at me. The amount of pride that was radiating from making me feel like I had touched the moon to be true. I smiled at him with tears in my eyes.

"You have made me the proudest father I ever could be. Even Logan and Linus did not make me feel this proud." He said as I chuckled.

"They are going to sulk when I tell them this." I said, with a smile but with tears rolling down my cheeks. He sighed and shook his head.

"Your mate is a good wolf, Laura." He said all of a sudden. My attention snapped to him.

"But you did not li-" I started but he cut me off.

"The first time I saw him at the council meeting, he was the only youngest Alpha there. Scared of no one. I guess it was after a year that he took the pack." He said, as we walked. I wanted to listen to what he was saying about my mate. I knew Indigo took the pack when he was young, first Alpha to take over a pack at that age.

"He looked exactly like Luciano." He chuckled. "His father and I got along well. An amazing man, you know. The talk about your mate began as soon as he took the pack. It's the reason they were scared of him. It's the reason he was being feared. People heard he had some curse and that he lost to his beast or something. But never once did I feel that about him. The reason being, he was Lucaino's son and the other was, well, he was really strong. Even the Silver Summit has taken a liking for him." He said and chuckled again. He then wiped my tears and began again.

My own father was telling me tales about my mate. Good ones at that. Then why did he react the way he did all this time? My heart was swelling with so much happiness, listening about my mate. And my own father was telling me all of this. That was just a frosting on the cake. I decided to keep quiet and listen to more of what he had to say.

"My wolf, he felt a small bond with him. I did not know it would come to this, though." He told me.

Bond! He felt a bond!

"I knew they were rumors after meeting him, two to three times. My wolf always examined him because of the bond. I always had my eye on him." He told me what I actually wanted to hear. My wolf was all ears, listening to her father. "I decided to play along. I gave the others to think the rumors were real. I wanted that boy to live after what happened to his pack. After how he rebuilt it to be better. I created an image to show others and even him that he was indeed what people called him. But not once did he try to reason with anyone, calm like his mother. I never hated him, Laura. I wanted him to be this because I knew that bond meant something." He said. We came to stop near a small slope where Villa and I had stopped to talk.

We walked that much?

We sat down and my father patted my head. "He was cursed, dad." I told him and he narrowed his eyes.

"The witch that attacked his pack had cursed him to be stuck in his wolf until he found his mate." I told him and he kept looking at me. He closed his eyes and let out a breath shaking his head.

"His sister?" He asked.

"Worse! She's cursed too. I don't know if Indigo wants to talk about his sister, yet. His wolf sees her as his own. It's hard on him already, dad. I hope you understand. I do not mean to hide anything from you but even my wolf feels protective of her." I said as I looked at him.

"Fucking witch!" He hardly used cuss words in front of us. "That boy did not show even a percent of what he was feeling or about his worries," he said, looking ahead.

"Yeah. He found her the night before we met. Actually it's because he brought her here that we met. He had gone in search of his mate after being stuck in his wolf for over five months." I told him.

"I cannot imagine what the boy has been through. But you do not tell this to anyone, the thing about me not hating him and all. I want you to keep it between the people you trust. Logan knows now and well I don't keep anything from your mother. She had known all along." He said, with a smile.

If it meant protecting this pack, protecting Violet then I had to play along with dad. Goddess! I didn't know this was how it was going to end up to be. This was so fucking amazing! I wanted to dance and scream around the whole pack because my dad, my dad, was happy with us. He was happy because he wasn't just proud of me but he was also proud of Indigo.

Right now I felt like I was actually touching the moon. I was that joyed.

Someone fucking put the music on!

"His gamma, Jane is it?" He asked and I nodded. "She kept linking me all the time to not take you away, Guess they really need a loving figure." He said with a laugh.

She kind of disappeared after we went to the pack house. She was linking dad to not taking me away all this time?

"Dad." I shied while he chuckled. "But really? She linked you for that." I asked him.

Jane did that? Jane? I doubted.

"You're the Luna of this pack now. You need to find things that go on over here on your own now," he said, making me blush slightly. I did not know what he was talking about, but I knew that now I had to keep an eye on Jane. Not in a bad way but to know what dad said meant.

"Hmm.. Thanks dad. I love you so much." I said and hugged him. He kissed my crown and hugged me tightly.

"I love you too, princess. But that doesn't mean I won't come find your mate's hide if he even gets close to hurting you." He said, making me chuckle.

"You get in line, dad." I told him as he laughed.

"That's my girl." He said, hugging me more.

"But really. Thank You so much. I know I never thanked you enough for all that you have done for me. I'm the luckiest daughter ever. I wouldn't have been what I am today if it was not you." I told him, genuinely. My heart felt light now, knowing the truth.

"Oh, Laura. Don't make me cry now." Dad said as tears formed in my eyes. I hugged him tighter.

"What about your mission?" he asked.

Ugh that.

"We haven't talked about it yet. But I do not intend to stop working on it." I told him.

"Good. If your mate does not agree, you come straight to me. You got it?" He asked, looking down at me.

"Got it, boss." I replied with a salute.

"Let's shift. My wolf wants to spend time with his daughter, now that she has to stay here." It was hard for him to say that because I felt it.

"Yeah. I'll shift right away." I told him. We got up and jumped together, shifting into our fur, the clothes ripping and flying everywhere in the process. My dad's wolf was the same colour as mine but bigger. We had the same eyes too.

His wolf came in front of me and licked our face, making us purr. He nuzzled his daughter's head and neck, bit it to show her his love. They played together for a long time, jumping, running and then came the hunting game.

Dad and I's wolves decided to have a hunt match. We ran a bit further into the thicker part of the forest to find ourselves a good meal. My wolf whiffed and spotted a good rabbit who had just come out of its burrow. I was sure dad's wolf saw it too.

My wolf crouched down on her legs and started moving in that position peeking her head to check for the poor little thing. Ever so slowly she moved to stand meters away from the rabbit. We could smell dad nearby. He was here. Slowly we moved our head up and saw dad's wolf on the other side, crouched down like us. He had a knowing smirk on his face, giving the indication that he was not going to go easy.

I quickly got into beast mode and took a high jump to pounce on the rabbit. Dad did the same and jumped from the other side at the same time. My wolf caught the rabbit in her mouth as her body scraped the forest floor on impact. Dad landed right in front of me as he stopped to where I was sprawled on the floor with the wiggling rabbit in my mouth. The winner was fairly decided as I had the rabbit's neck in my mouth. My father's wolf growled in approval. Proud of his pup.

We got up with the rabbit still in our muzzle, finally biting into his neck and killing it as we strode in front of him. We looked at him as he cocked his head to the side. We put the now dead rabbit in front of him and looked back at him with a happily wagging tail. He growled and licked the dirt off our face first.

We pushed the rabbit further towards him with our muzzle, urging him to take the first bite. My wolf was paying her respect to her father. To her alpha who had been there for her since day one. Our parents were the one who taught us how to hunt, to be a skilled fighter, to be a good wolf.

We sat down in front of him, as he took the first bite, shredding the rabbit and pulling at his fur. My wolf looked at him, wagging her tail, happy that her father accepted her gift. She raised her head and her ears higher this time while she watched her dad bite the animal, proud of herself.

He tore the rabbit and enjoyed her gift. He then sat down in front of us, pushing the rabbit to us. My wolf quickly dug her teeth into the rabbit and ate it while she purred and growled, our father cleaning up the mess on our face later.

After sitting there for sometime, having a good father-daughter time, we decided to return back to the pack. We ran back in our fur to the pack house to see Villa and Vicky already there. They quickly bowed their heads and smiled.

They showed us into the cabin that I was staying in when I came to the pack. Dad went inside to get changed and I went back to Indigo's place to get changed. Indigo wasn't at home though. I went up to the front door as Klaus opened it. I walked inside and saw Violet come out of the kitchen.

"Wow." She said and started walking towards me.

"Wait, let me guess." She pointed towards me with wondering eyes, "Laura?" She asked and stood in front of me. My wolf wanted to see her through her eyes and now that she did she quickly nodded her head and jumped on her, licking her whole face. Violet was laughing uncontrollably while Klaus picked up his phone and clicked pictures.

"Oh gosh! You are cute too!" she said, laughing, trying to avoid my wolf licking her. We stopped as she wrapped her hands around my neck, hugging me. "I'm going to call you Lotte from today." She said, looking into my wolf's eyes. I yipped at her and nuzzled her, loving the name she gave my wolf. Klaus clicked more pictures, smiling at us.

"Let's take a selfie, Klaus." Violet suggested. She still had my neck in her grip as Klaus made his way to us on the floor. He sat down on the floor beside her and clicked pictures which included her hugging both our necks and kissing my wolf and then nuzzling her head in my fur. She made us lay on the floor and then clicked pictures herself.

I could tell Klaus was ready to do anything for her. He was staying here with her while we were gone, making sure she felt like home. He took care of her, cooked with her, fed her and did what not. It was really heartwarming to see both of them in a cheerful mood.

After our photo session, I went up and shifted. I quickly got dressed and came down, informing them that I was going to see mom. I hadn't talked to her all this time. I loved my father, yes, but that didn't mean I loved her less.

I went to the cabin and saw mom and dad, looking all refreshed. I could hear Logan peacefully sleeping in the room. Dad was sitting on the couch with mom as I went and hugged mom quickly. "I'm so sorry, my baby. I know it wasn't fair to you with the way I acted today. But I love you so much. And it also means I'll love your mate the same." She said, as she broke down into tears.

No fuck! Goddess, help me to not cry.

I understood why she did it though. She loved dad and she knew he was doing what he had to.

"Mom, I love you too. Don't think about it. I understand why you did it." I told her and dad sighed beside me.

"I already know you two are going to be perfect. Even with all the rejection from our side, you and your mate stood strong for each other. Tell your mate, if he ever felt the need of a mother he could come talk to me."

Dammit mom!

And the tears came rolling down like a fucking waterfall. This was all just the opposite of what I had thought. They never hated him. They had their own game plan in all of this. They did it to protect him, us.

When people say your parents are your biggest strength while growing up, it was absolutely, one hundred fucing percent true. I felt it right now. They do things that sometimes we don't like but it is all for the better.

Although for some, life can be cruel. It just wasn't fair. No all of us grow up with them or not all parents are good and it absolutely, one hundred fucking percent isn't our fault.

Everyone has a different story. While for some it is good for some it is worse. But what are we to do?

This is life. And life happens.

After a while of talking about everything back at home and eating, Indigo came in to take me home. My dad had his eyes on him, the same way he did when he saw him at the pack house. My mom quickly hugged him and complemented his eyes, remembering his mother. She kissed his forehead, making him smile.

"Indigo." Dad said. Indigo diverted his attention to him. "If even a hair of her's is damaged, I swear I will cause ten times more damage to you." His tone was a warning, the voice of an Alpha. I heard Logan get up from his sleep and he walked out with messy hair and a sleepy face.

"It will never come to that." Indigo said with a smile, his alpha responding back to his mate's father. Dad glared at him for a few seconds and nodded at him.

"Dinner at our place?" Indigo asked them.

Wait what? He wanted them to meet Violet. Really? I had grown more insecure of her than him.

"Sure." Dad replied.

What about Logan?

"Can you send it to me here?" Logan asked, knowing the trouble it might cause.

"No problem." Indigo said with a smile. I knew he had thought about it. He knew Logan wouldn't feed the bond with her unnecessarily. I quickly turned towards Logan and kissed his cheek. "Eww! I need to apply germkill on my face now!" He dramatically wiped it off, making me roll my eyes.

Stupid douche!
