Indigo

My wolf kept pacing all the time. They had so many questions. Vicky wouldn't shut his mouth, kept banging in my head the whole time. I knew how they felt as they had smelled Violet from a distance. Eli and Vicky were bickering like always. I pushed my walls up, not wanting to answer all of them separately and with the amount of chaos they were coming in with.

All of them stared at her as if she was a fairy that had come to life. And she was. My little one was a fairy. I was going to treat her like one. My wolf agreed with me. He did not want to let her in the sight of so many people. But he knew we had to. She needed to know them, learn what it was like to live here. She definitely needed some friends that I know the orphanage did not allow to have.

All of them jumped every time they learnt something new about her. Sure, they were surprised. Hell even I was when I first heard and saw everything. Her being alive in the first place was one of the many miracles.

Eli, what could I say, he was just waiting for a chance. I knew he had a whole ass story planned to tell them about her. His wolf nor he would shut up about it. But he did not see me coming as I sold him out.

Asshole

When I kissed Laura's cheek, the sparks flew everywhere, lighting up the bond. And how could I ever forget about yesterday. Yesterday was the best day of my life. I got to spend so much time with her and the time I spent with her was just as amazing as her. We were so drowned into each other. She brought out the teen boy in me that was far gone.

All of my teenage years, I had prepared to be an Alpha. Everytime I would go to the training grounds it would remind me of the day everything happened. It ate me inside everytime, thinking why I couldn't help any of them or why I couldn't save them.

But Laura brought out that lost fun part in me. I hardly had any sleep at night, thinking what her father would do. I didn't want her to be taken away from me. I would fight and fight to have her by my side.

Eli passed these funny comments when I put a full stop to his amazing story, causing me to kiss Laura in the process. Damn the bond and damn her to kiss me back. I gripped her hand tightly, trying to control myself from not claiming her lips in front of everyone.

This gorgeous little woman was testing me. So was the alpha in her.

The others sensed the high tension between us. Dammit. We were so lost into each other, the small act of mocking Eli, got us to play our own game. She wasn't backing out nor was I. That was until Klaus cleared his throat.

Dammit! I bit back a growl.

"Luna, how long until your father is here?" Eli linked both of us.

But we ignored the asshole. He deserved a good go from me. He won't quit until then.

There were so many things that we discussed about her. Alistair was happy to have her back. He used to call her sister when we were kids as he was the only child. I was happy, I did not have to deliver my well known punches to him like the others who got near her.

They were all raising her spirits. They had all accepted her. Even the unborn child in Lianna's womb accepted her. Of course because of its mother. But the point is, Violet sensed it in the first place. She said it just happened. Something in her told her to do so.

Definitely her wolf, yes, but it was a shock to us.

Her wolf was doing things, beyond our belief.

Everyone agreed on finding the witch and the anonymous donor. I couldn't take it when Alistair mentioned about her mate. I just couldn't. It was not just me, Klaus even did not bite his growl.

I knew Ali only wanted to help,  getting mad at him wasn't going to make it right. He himself wouldn't want her to leave this place. That calmed my wolf a little. He also wanted to let his wolf sense her aura, maybe he could find something. I knew he could. Jane did not just call him Big nose for no reason. But my wolf wasn't ready yet and neither was I.

I wanted her to bond more with them. I wanted my wolf and myself to accept that she was going to be with the ones that would care for her. After that maybe.

Jane and Klaus agreed on training her. I knew she was a little nervous about it but I also knew she would do it without fear. Klaus could bring out the alpha in her. I was sure. She won't have her wolf yet but she was still strong and an alpha by blood. Even her human side would give a good fight.

Jane would push her until she knew Violet had it in her. That gamma never gave up. One reason she was my gamma.

"Guys, Laura's parents and her brother are going to be here today evening." I told them.

"Ooooooooo..! We are going to get some action today." Vicky said with a smirk. Eli asshole laughed and I rolled my eyes at them.

"I'll make arrangements for their stay." Villa said. I nodded and said quick thanks.

Laura was a little nervous about the whole situation. She told me she talked to both her brothers in the morning. I did not like seeing her all worried. Not even a little. She told me her brothers said words that she actually needed to hear. That got her to be a little at ease.

"Um, Luna. Do not worry. Our Alpha will handle everything. And we are here for you." Lianna said softly to assure her.

I sure will and she was not going anywhere.

"Yeah, I am just, you know, worried about dad." Laura told her.

"Luna, if they go at each other, please don't stop them." Eli told her.

This asshole!

"I second that, Luna." Vicky said. His daughter now examining his nails. He had hurt one of them badly, I could tell. Lyla was definitely going to follow Laura's footsteps. The way she ran up to her when she saw her was really endearing.

"Why does there have to be a fight? You guys could just talk right. You haven't done anything wrong. I don't know how it works here but there's no reason for him to take her away." Violet said, innocently, causing everyone to look at her adorably. She did not know so much. Damn, I didn't want her to hear those rumors about me.

But would she trust them?

"He hasn't done anything wrong Violet. But a father is a father. If one day you find your mate and then-" I growled and stopped Villa mid-sentence. Villa gave me an apologetic look and looked back at Violet again.

"See how he reacted. It is just the same. When my dad found out Vicky was my mate, he did not let me see him for a whole year. It was really difficult as both of us had grown up together in the same pack." She explained, laughing.

I remember how freaked out her father was when he found out. He knew Vicky was a good man but what was a father if he did not show your mate his place.

"Really, you guys did not meet for a whole year?" Layla asked her father. Alistair and Eli scoffed at that.

"That is what her dad believes sweetheart," he told her. Yeah, they used to meet with the help of Eli and Ali and sometimes me. I don't know how her dad did not find after all. They were good at sneaking away.

"Nana would love to know this." Layla said with a smirk. She was her father's daughter. Same damn smirk! Vicky gave her a look while the others laughed.

"Yeah, but someone needed something that mumma does not know," Vicky said, giving her the same look.

"Dad!" Layla whined.

"What, what is it that you need?" Villa asked, shifting in her chair.

"Nothing mom!" All of us watched the family banter.

"Baby, this is between a father and his little sweetheart.'' He gave her his pinky finger and she held it with hers, giggling. Villa shook her head in disbelief. Then she cracked her fingers and gave Vicky one of her precious smiles.

He had it coming.

"So what are your plans for today?" Lianna asked Violet as they continued talking. I nudged Laura. She seemed lost in all of it.

"What's the matter?" I linked her.

"Logan linked me. He said they might be here sooner. Dad had called Alpha Vincent but he was busy." She told me.

Vincent was definitely going to link me about it when he found out. He wouldn't allow anyone now that he knows Violet is her. They were going to catch her scent anyway. But I wouldn't let them near her so easily. It would be better if they arrived sooner.

"Alpha, can she come with me to our place? She must be bored here." Lianna asked me. Violet's eyes were on me, silently asking for permission.

Damn no.

"Not yet, Lianna. I just can't for a few days until my wolf and I get used to it." I told her honestly. I knew they would understand.

"No problem. I understand, alpha."

"Can she stay here then?" Violet asked quickly.

"Fine. I'll go run to the pack house. Guys, with me. We have things to discuss." I told them.

"Come on." I got up and took Laura's hand, wanting her to come with me. She got up and looked at Violet. Damn even she was worried about leaving her alone here.

"Klaus, can you stay here?" I asked him. He nodded, happily. Looking at him it felt like Violet had done some kind of magic on him. He had almost broken all the barriers of emptiness and grief. I knew the others noticed it too.

Violet was busy talking to Lianna about some cake they were going to bake because both of them felt like eating it or something. As long as she was happy and safe here, nothing else mattered.

Villa and Vicky left first, leaving their daughter here. Alistair and Eli said their goodbyes. I quickly hugged Violet and left with Jane and Laura. Both of them walked ahead of me, talking about their own packs. I wanted Laura to know them personally through her own experience. I wanted her to be her own as she took her Luna position in the pack.

All of us gathered in the pack house in the meeting room. I still had to look through dad's office. I needed to find a good time to look into it. For now, I needed to talk to these guys about what happened in my absence and every other thing they wanted me to answer.

"To begin with, Vincent will try to get here. He knows Violet's here." I saw their expressions change. While Villa and Vicky exchanged looks, smiling, Jane couldn't help but roll her eyes. Alistair's demeanour was as Eli's. He knew he didn't want to mess with me again. Although all their opinions about Vincent and Violet matched mine. I was content none of them wanted her to leave this place anytime soon.

"That will be taken care of, Alpha. He's stubborn though. But word about her will travel faster than forest fire." Alistair said.

That was true.

I closed my eyes and tried to get a control of my thoughts. "I know. One reason I informed him was so he ensured more safety. We know he wouldn't jeopardize that now." They nodded. "No one is leaving or entering our pack territory without my permission." I ordered. Laura put a hand over mine.

"Yes, Alpha." They replied.

"Alpha, just once only listen to this. What if, I am saying it is a possibility, not that it is true."

"What is it Jane?" She was beating around the bush. I knew exactly what she wanted to say but I wanted to listen to her point because I knew she had a good perspective on things. Nope, she had the best perspective on things.

"We could just try and find out if they are mates. It's not necessary that they have to meet. You came through his territory, although I know the roadway is far away from the core of his pack, he would have felt something. He's an alpha, he could have sensed it." Jane said. The others shifted in their seats, too.

That could be done but how?

"What do you have in mind?" Laura asked, not waiting and eager to know what was on her mind.

"We could use something that has his scent on it. We already know her wolf is strong enough to sense things that we couldn't imagine. Maybe her wolf will recognize his scent." She suggested.

"What if they are potential mates? That could cause more trouble. It is two alpha's we are talking about. Even a potential bond would be stronger." Vicky said, as a matter of fact.

Fuck!

"That is true. But we also don't know how she lost her memories. What if we try to show her things that she had a real good bond with. Like she accepted the bond with you and us, she could try and remember things from her childhood." She said, narrowing her brows.

"That can be done. I still have their belongings." I told them. My heart ached at the thought of mom and dad and even for my little one. I still had everything that belonged to them.

"We'll take it slowly. I don't think burdening her with everything is going to make her comfortable. Let her, you know, know what it is to be here. Let her settle. She has not been exposed to this lifestyle. And I don't think she had many friends back there or someone she could count on at the orphanage. or did she? Did she mention informing a friend or someone close to her that she... you know.. found a family or something." Villa asked this time.

"She didn't say anything but let's not assume that. She might have some..." Eli said and Villa nodded with a tight-lipped smile.

"What Villa said in the beginning is right I guess. She is twenty already and mature enough to understand things her way. Indigo, you need to start letting her loose. I know it'll take time but she wouldn't want to live in the four walls of the house forever. It's not like we won't be with her anytime." Laura said, her thumb rubbing circles on my hand.

I sighed saying, "I know. But I-"

"We're all here for her Alpha. She is not going anywhere." Eli said and the others agreed.

"Didn't she show any change in her when you entered his pack line?" Laura asked me, changing the subject. Good, the thought of leaving Violet out of the house in itself was troubling me.

"She was singing songs. The barrier was seen from a distance but she did not ask me about it or show any reaction. I waited for her to question me but she just kept singing. I waited until she said something but she just drove through it. You have no idea how ready my wolf was to jump out of the car. We were stunned by how she did not see it. But I only sensed a change in her aura at the Inn. It wasn't there before that." I told them, resting my free hand on the table.

"Now we don't know if her aura changed because her wolf felt the pull of a pack or because it was his pack." Vicky said, focussing on the 'his' part.

"It is growing. It has grown maybe point one or two percent since that day." I told them.

"To think about ways is going to take a while. None of us want her to be exposed to something she still has no understanding about." Alistair shrugged. "Hell, even we don't know what is different with her. So what if we just first train her, teach her things and then get her to try what Jane suggested."

"Well enough. My wolf, he doesn't even want her to leave the house, yet. Jane, you'll have to train her near the house for a few days." I told her, running my hand through my hair. She nodded.

"Villa, are the arrangements done?" I asked Villa.

"Yes. I have a cabin arranged." She smiled and looked at Laura.

"How far have the year-end arrangements come?" I asked them. It was a time when new wolves joined the pack officially by taking an oath. Along with it the sports event for the newly shifted pups took place. It was a way all the newly joined wolves and the pack bonded with each other.

"Everything is going smoothly. Arrangements are being taken care of by Lianna. We don't want her to work too much. So all the paperwork, registration along with the planning is done by her. She has the help of others." Villa said with a smile. Alistair was beaming with pride at that.

"Good. Violet could help her. Let's just start from there." I told them and their smiles widened.

"Lianna is going to be so happy. She doesn't like girls to be kept cooped up in the house." Alistair said with a big grin. That was the reason she asked me to take Violet with her.

"She got all that roaming business from you, Ali." Eli said. Alistair nodded his head smiling at Eli. It was true. Ali was an explorer. His personal office was full of maps and books of the world and of places not many knew. He also had a separate collection of some of the precious things he had collected from different parts of the world as a souvenir. He kept them in the pack library-museum so everyone could see them.

He had three of his own books published with the council on some of the best mythological places in the world and his study about them. The council loved the response his book got and helped him publish it into the human world. Along with that he had so many friends around the world that were ready to help him anytime, including vampires and other supernaturals.

Usually pack members were not allowed to travel out of pack. But delta's who were mainly trackers were given the permission to. It was in them to explore places and their wolves saw the world in a way no one else saw. Packs needed someone to go explore in terms of being updated with the rest of the world. That was the reason a delta title played an important role in the pack. They knew about places not many people knew. Not even humans for that matter. They were allowed into the residences of other shiters and were permitted by the council in matters that concerned peace between shifters.

Alistair, just like his father and mother, was a traveller. When I said he had friends, I meant real ones and ones who were ready to be there for him. You see Alistair was the kind of guy who would make it a first in times of someone in need. And that's what made him more perfect as my delta. He deals well and does well with the amount of knowledge he possesses. Hence, loved and called for. If there was an award I could give him, I definitely would. He deserved it.

"How many new pups shifted while I was gone.?" I asked them.

"Three. One was real pain in the ass. He kept joking all the time while he shifted." Eli shook his head. "Xena and Zach had to call me because he wasn't shifting.." He looked into space and continued talking with a stupid smile on his face, "Damn, his jokes were really good. He was on his back when he shifted with his legs up in the air. I've never seen someone enjoy the pain so much. He got loose at the end though. But Issac is strong, will make a good warrior." I just knew Eli was going to grow more fond of Issac.

Everyone's eyes were on Eli, an amusing smile on their faces. "I'll go check on them tomorrow or day after," I told them. When someone shifted for the first time their alpha needed to be there so their wolves recognized them as their alpha. I felt sorry I couldn't be there for them. I had to make sure I visited them soon and check with them for their health.

"What is going to be the total count this time, for the new pups?" I asked.

"Around twenty. Some are yet to shift." Eli told me. It was my job to keep tabs on everything but while I was gone Eli had to do it. I was sure the man must be partying in his head now that I was here.

"Okay. I'll take over from here Eli." I told him. And he clapped hands with Alistair without any eye contact with each other.

So they had some plans up their asses.

"Vicky, your count on the warriors." I asked Vicky, shaking my head at Eli.

"Three-ninety-two finalized. I still have to work with the others." He said.

"Jane?"

"Three-forty-eight. Some are yet to be put to test." She said, leaning in her chair.

"Fine. I need the count. And we'll have a proper meeting for it as well with a fixed count by the end of next month." I told them. "Do we have a count of the ones going to the Moon Realm?" I asked them.

"Some are still not sure. You know how some of them back out or jump in at the last minute. It'll be taken care of though. No worries." Villa assured me but continued further. "You should put some sense into Eli and Jane." She said with a stern look on her face as she eyed Eli.

I don't think now that Violet was here, either of them were going to go.

Eli just shrugged and Jane just ignored her. For fucks sake! Both of them had a lesson coming from me. And they very well knew it!

"You could try." Laura suggested, sitting back in her seat, looking at the two.

"No!" Eli denied right away, making me growl at him.

"I'm sorry, Luna." His regret was seen on his face as he showed her his neck.

"I'll be honest. I don't know if I want a mate right now." Jane quietly said, firm with her decision. Villa shook her head, not happy with her decision. She wanted nothing but to see Jane happy. I also knew Vicky wouldn't force his sister into anything. He had always given her the freedom to make her choices and Jane lived upto that freedom. Their elder brother Jace, died fighting in the attack. Jane was too small but Vicky was like his shadow. Jace would always let them do what they wanted, he sometimes even fought with his parents so that his siblings got what they wanted.

Vicky wanted to fill every gap of Jace that Jane felt. He let her be, just the way Jace wanted. Jane, like the gamma she was, lived up to his name. She wanted to be like Jace from the beginning. And she did it. I didn't just make her my gamma for no reason.

"It's okay guys." Laura said softly.

We discussed the pack some more. Alistair had new trained trackers listed based on his observations. He had a few new game strategies planned for them. I gave them the idea of the new game I had learnt from my own experience which was writing with your damn paws on the mud. Wet and dry mud, both.

Yet again they were surprised when I told them I had to do it for Violet when I had found her. Everyone gave in their inputs including Laura.

I loved that she was getting into her Luna role quite quickly, already taking matters into her hands, making decisions for the pack.

We still had to talk about her going to the other packs for her sessions. Her job was important to her, I knew it but now that she had found her mate, which was me, I wouldn't let her leave this place without at least marking her. But again marking her involved greater risks. She could go into heat which I knew wouldn't happen soon. It would take some time but she was still going to be away from me.

How could I ever live with that?

I wasn't going to stop her from fulfilling her dreams. She knew what she was doing and even if I was her mate, it would be wrong if I went against what she was meant to do. The passion she had towards her career and her job was enormous. I still had to know her better.

The best way was to talk to the council about giving us a year break but again I didn't know if Laura would want that and if it would cause disorder in her mission. This was much more difficult than I thought. I knew she was thinking about the same. More than me it was going to be difficult for her to make decisions. Her dad, then me, then her career, her secret mission.

How was I blessed to have a woman so smart and so strong?

She was above me on everything, my wolf agreed. I wasn't jealous one bit. It was quite the opposite. I was proud and one hell of a lucky man. I still didn't know what I did to deserve her. Since the day I met her she had been understanding. She has been handling things peacefully without showing any trace of frustration. She was absolutely perfect. I don't know if I had at least ten percent of the amount of patience she had. No, I didn't and again my wolf agreed.

She was my own goddess. My own beautiful goddess.

As Laura had told me earlier about her dad coming through Midnight territory, Vincent called me. He was going to refuse them entry but I told him to send them in.

So they were going to be here sooner than I thought. Vincent sounded a little taken back, making sure I gave him a pretty good reason.

I truthfully told him about Laura being my mate and that's when he agreed. He didn't question me further, not even about Violet. I trusted him. It wasn't like he was a bad guy. He was a good man, a really good wolf. But the loss had made us worse. Violet's return as much as it meant to me, I knew it meant to him. They were best friends, and never left each other's side when they were together. That did not mean I was going to let him meet Violet so soon. I was sure he wouldn't want to see my wrath.

Well, he was very much a winner to the amount of punches I had delivered.

Everything and everyone needed time.

I was still sitting in my office, doing my work. Villa took Laura with her to introduce her to some of the pack. Laura knew some of them, as she was here for three days only that she wasn't involved in the pack business. I could feel her growing anxious.

I linked Klaus to check on them. They said they were having a good movie time which he was dragged into. He wasn't complaining. He was glad, he was living again. Violet brought out the fun in him.

It was around four in the evening when I was linked by one of the patrols, Kevin. I told them to let them in. It would take them half an hour or so to reach here. Laura returned to the pack house along with Villa as Villa tried to boost her confidence all the way.

I walked out of my office and down the stairs where Laura and Villa stood. Villa gave us an encouraging smile and said she'd be outside to give us some time alone.

Laura's eyes almost watered when she looked at me. I quickly pulled her to my chest. "It's okay blue, everythings gonna be fine. You trust me?" I caressed her head as she let go of her tears. Our wolves were quiet but ready. It was like they had an understanding of their own.

She shook her head in a yes. She looked up at me with teary eyes. I just couldn't look at her like this. I quickly wiped away her tears and placed kisses all over her face. He forehead, eyes, nose cheeks, chin, ears, lips and then did it all over again until she smiled.

"See, that smile looks better on you." I said and pushed her hair behind her ear. She sighed.

"I just hope everything goes-"

"It will. I promise." I told her. She shook her head and stood up on her knees and kissed me. I did not wait for a second and kissed her back, holding the back of her head with one hand and lifting her by the waist with the other.

I turned us around and walked so her back was against the wall beside the staircase. I kissed her feverishly, with all my being. I pulled at her hair making her open her mouth. Pushing my tongue inside her mouth, I fought her tongue as she moaned.

Damn

I pushed my weight on her, my restraint being felt by her. She moaned at that again and bit my lip. Her alpha wanted to show mine that she was not any less. Her hands were in my hair, pulling at them, making me kiss her harder.

I pushed back and let her breathe as we both looked into each other's eyes. Her eyes, goddess, her eyes were so beautiful. I smiled at her and kissed her forehead.

"Uhmm." Someone, no, Eli cleared his throat. I did not give two fucks at the time. I stood staring into her eyes. Laura blushed looking into his direction. She elbowed my stomach. I looked at where she was looking but I pulled her close to me, tighter to me.

"What is it, Eli?" I asked him, annoyed.

"The speed at which Alpha Logan is driving, I guess they'll be here in fifteen." He said, looking at both of us.

"We'll be outside in a minute. Wait for me." I told him. He left with a smirk on his face. Asshole.

"I'll make it right." I told, looking at her as I still held her to me.

"I know. You stay calm for Violet. Okay." She said. I smiled at her and nodded. I pecked her lips and held her hands. I brought them to my lips and kissed them. I made a promise to myself to treasure her forever.

I fucking loved her already.

I hugged her some more and we went out to see Eli, Jane, Villa and Alistair were already there. I could see Vicky running towards the pack house. They were here for their Luna. None of them would meddle in the fight between two Alphas that I knew. On top of that they were Laura's family.

A minute or two passed and I heard the faint noise of a car. The car was roaring through my pack and I swear I could feel a fuming Alpha in it. I held Laura's hand and gave it a squeeze. I could feel her heart race loudly so I quickly kissed her crown, letting her ease a bit.

The car was close by now. My wolves were running not to close behind the car giving them directions. I saw a black Hyundai in my view, moving our way. The car came to an abrupt stop and without wasting time Laura's father and mother got out of the car followed by her brother.

"Dad." Laura called out with a smile. The fuming Alpha calmed maybe a percent. She gave me an assuring nod and I let go of her hand. Her dad walked in her direction and she did the same. Midway they hugged each other.

I wouldn't know how a father felt to meet his only daughter after a long time. I mean, I knew now that Violet was here but it was nothing like what I was seeing in front of my eyes. Her mother walked to them.

Alpha Logan, her brother, had his eyebrows narrowed in my direction. I looked at him, his wolf ready and scanning around the surroundings. Laura hugged her mom while her dad I suppose was gathering all the strategies he could use to kill me with the look in his eyes.

"Alpha Lucca." I acknowledged him, moving forward.

"Get in the car, Laura," he seethed through his teeth.

"What, dad n-" Laura whined next to her mother but it was my turn.

"She is not going anywhere like I told you before." I said to him as calmly as I could.

"And you think I give two fucks about what you think. Alpha. Indigo." He said with a bit of a mock which I was not going to take well. I growled.

"My thoughts might not be as important to you but I know your daughters are." I said and he stood there with his murderous look. He had the same blue eyes as Laura's. Even Logan had the same blue eyes. Her mother rather had greyish eyes.

"Dad. we agreed to talk." Laura slowly and calmly said. Logan was thinking about something while his wolf kept looking around. He hadn't moved from his spot.

"Lucca. We need to talk." Laura's mother, Luna Ana said with a stern tone.

"Wait." Logan said, taking our attention. My wolf was eyeing him, moving round and round in the back of my mind.

"Logan?" Laura called out in a low tone, looking in his direction.

"Why do I smell a human potential here?" he asked.

FUCK NO!
