~Chapter 27~

Actually cried while writing this.
It was entertaining to see your reflection in her fearful eyes. Your eyes, once horridly mismatched, now both glistened like rubies. A smile had taken over your face, horrifying even to you, a good thing. For so long she pitied you, and now she was at your mercy. Too bad you were fresh out of such a thing. This so called 'friend' was just like the others.

She didn't want you around. It was the stupid exchange program that stuck you with her. This one didn't even know you like that. She only helped you because she wanted you out of this AU. She looked at you with sad eyes... eyes full of the very emotion that fueled your hate.

Teeth clamped in a tight grit, you raised the blade, metal causing red light to dance around you. In a tone both desperate and angry, you screamed. "I DON'T NEED WANT YOUR PITY!!!" YOU cried, plunging the knife downward.

Alphys squealed, throwing an arm up uselessly. Your grin widened painfully as you awaited the sweet feeling that would bless you when your knife pierced her flesh. Nothing was more disappointing than when your knife ended up inch-deep in the ground. Golden dust remained from magic and your gaze snapped forward. You were left alone, but you knew that magic. It could only come from the monster you hated most, the one that went so far as to pretend to love you... the one that used you like a toy.

Just the thought of him tore you up. A tearing shriek ripped your throat as you looked around you. Suddenly red lights flashed around you, speakers booming a message loudly.

All monsters are to evacuate immediately to their designate zones. Only bring what can fit in a small bag. The Royal Guards will inform as to the nature of emergency as you arrive at your zones.

A snarl appeared firmly on your faced and you growled. "Those cowards are trying to escape their punishment." You huffed. "That stupid dinosaur pulled the alarm."

You tried to shove your knife into your pocket, but only found the dress your wore from the television interview. A sigh escaped your lips and you groaned. "Can I get out of this goddamn dress?!" You groaned.

You felt something rip through you and looked down at your soul. Your (F/C) soul was wrapped almost completely in black vines. It pulsated and magic shifted around you. You look down at your dress and watched as the fabric seemed to shimmer, changing into something new. Your legs were now covered by a pair of brown shorts while you wore a green sweater bearing one yellow stripe. Your hair remained unchanged but the outfit offered many places to hide a weapon.

Slipping your favored knife into your sleeve, you walked briskly through the lab, watching closely for movement. You walked from room to room, occasionally finding an abandoned experiment. Growing bored, you found the elevator and arrived to the ground level. The entire floor was void of life. Huffing, you moved to the monitors, watching it dully. On several screens you watched as monsters haphazardly packed bags, flooding evacuation route to an almost clogging degree. They would make such easy targets, but they meant nothing to you. You really only hated the people that faked emotion, and those were the people you once called friends.

You left the lab, twirling your knife nonchalantly. How to lure out the bastards... what to do... what to do?! Having an 'ah ha' moment, you started to run to the closest evacuation point. Looking over the sea of monsters, it was only a matter of selecting the right victim.

You let your hair hide your face as you moved with the crowd. The Royal Guards flanked the flow of panic. Realizing the threat of an interruption, you made your way to the first guard. He was about three times your size with wide rippling muscles, but you could easily tell he was a pushover. Pulling the most innocent face you could, you tapped his shoulder.

He turned and spotted you, leaning down to see what you wanted. "All citizens are to evacuate immediately." He said flatly.

You nodded like you cared and pursed your lips. "I'm sorry sir, but I just have a question." You said sweetly.

He nodded and you continued. Your arm raised, pointing behind him. "Well, I'm new around town and wanted to ask who that was! They seem an awful lot like someone to run from."

He went rigid and whipped around, scanning for the threat. With his back you, the knife slipped into your grip and you sank its point into the monster's flesh. The blade pierced directly through his skin, instantly paralyzing him. His body crumbled to dust as the closest monsters watched in horror. The other guard looked over at the commotion and you whipped towards him, insanity painting your face.

"How dare you?!" He roared. "He had people to go back home to!"

"Oops," You giggled. "Guess my hand slipped."

You could feel the rage radiating off him and your giggle rose to a roar of laughter. He charged you, his large spear prepared to take a life. You dodged it easily, sticking out a foot to trip him. As he stumbled, you shoved the knife into the back of his head, instantly creating a new pile of ash. The people screamed, fleeing in every direction at random.

You laughed, black tears of joy bubbling in your eyes. "Oh come on! Don't leave me just yet!" You cried.

Turning sharply, you pinned a small looking monster. It squirmed in your grasp but couldn't escape. He looked like a small dinosaur with no arms. He had yellow scales and a warm-looking sweater. The monster couldn't be more than a child. Perfect. Smiling triumphantly, you returned to the lab and overwrote the default overhead message. Grabbing the microphone, you cleared your throat and some loudly.

"ATTENTION UNDERGROUND!!!!
Hello dearies~ (Y/N) here with a fun little request. I have with me here, uh, what's your name darling? Creature child or something?"

"M-My n-name is Monster Kid." He said, shuddering.

You faked a laugh and gave him a dull look. "Ha, how creative."

Turning back to the microphone, you continued.
"I have with me here, Monster Kid, and you see folks, it's not all that pleasant for him. Here's the deal. If I don't see the following freaks in the Judgement Hall in half an hour, I'll slaughter anything living in this Hell, starting with Monster Child here. I'm looking for:
Toriel
Frisk
Alphys
Undyne
Mettaton
Gaster!Papyrus
And worst of all, Gaster!Sans!

Choose wisely!"

You clicked for the message to repeat and watched the cameras in delight as monsters began to panic, completely forgetting the order to evacuate. The monster child shook at your mercy as you looked at it evilly. "Come on Bucktooth. You're my ticket to setting things right."

He remained silent as you yanked him to his feet dragging him behind you like a rag doll. He whimpered and kicked around behind you, but you didn't really care. You walked through the Underground, strolling leisurely to the Judgement Hall like you'd done this an infinite amount of times before. Monsters parted way for you like royalty and you smiled maniacally. This kinda feeling was something you could stand. This fearful hatred was much more deserved, much more based. It was right.

About twenty-five minutes after making the announcement, you found yourself in the Judgement hall. You proceeded to walk until you were halfway down, then turned and waited for your guests. Five minutes pass and they appear on the dot. You smile wide and bow.

"Welcome bastards and bitches to the last place you'll ever see!" You announced. You lifted your captive by the neck and threw him at the group, giggling. "Here's the runt. He's SO pathetic." You complained.

Undyne went rigid, gripping her spear tightly. Gaster!Sans seemed to be at the front of their group, looking most cautious. "(Y/N), you need to calm down. This isn't you. This isn't who you are." He cooed softly.

You laughed obnoxiously, gripping your knife tightly. "Sorry to disappoint bone boy, but this IS me, at least how you see me. I understand now. I've seen and now it's all clear to me!" You grinned.

"What are you talking about (Y/N)?! Stop acting so rashly and let us help you!" G!Paps pled.

You snorted, sending him an acidic look. "Since when were you in control..." You hissed. "Don't act like you care about me! I'm sick of this lying!"

Frisk sniffled, shaking his head. "Guys, she's not lying." He said quietly. "That's really (Y/N)."

They all turned toward him instantly as you almost fell laughing. "Ding ding ding! Congratulations kid! You're officially not a complete dumbass!"

Undyne glared at you, then switched her gaze to Frisk. "Chara keeps telling me how that's not her. When Chara kills something, it's like for sport. But right now (Y/N) is functioning on ideas of revenge and betrayal. In front of us is the sum of every bad emotion she's ever had."

You feigned innocence. "Well it's not exactly my fault is it? After all, I did just recently find out every act of kindness I've ever experiences was out of PITY."

They all gawked at your statement. You twisted the blade among your fingers, watching it as it spun. "Don't stop now! It'll make this so much more fun." You cheered.

"(Y/N), we never pitied you. We don't understand..." Frisk pled.

"Oh really?" You snapped. "You never felt sorry for the poor girl that got blown out of her own dimension. The little girl, who was afraid to sing because some big bad man hurt her in her past. You never felt disappointed when I messed up. You never hated the fact that I chose to leave my family, or blamed me for my parents death."

As you listed their faults, you grew more and more rigid, anger boiling in your veins. "I NEVER WANTED YOU PITY!!!" you screamed, launching a knife their way.

They all dove to the sides and you laughed, black consuming your eyes and spilling over your face. Bitterness filled your mouth, black liquid dripping out on your chin and along your jaw. "I NEVER ASKED FOR THIS LIFE!" you cried, now assaulting them with an entire rain of magically formed blades.

They propelled at the group, causing them to scatter. More black tears flooded over your face, feelings of betrayal weighing your heart and poisoning your thoughts. "THIS WASN'T MY CHOICE!!!" you bellowed bitterly.

Small arms wrapped around your waist and you looked down to see Frisk holding on to you tightly. Your face faltered as you looked down at the child, your chest seeming to twitch. "We never pitied you (Y/N), we just care about you. You're our family."

You froze a moment, silent as you looked at him. Shaking your head, you pulled back your other leg and kicked him off. "Sorry kid, but it's too late to apologize. The deed has been done and you'll all pay the price!"

You looked down at the child and pulled your weapon back, hair putting your conflicted eyes in shadows. He threw up an arm as you brought it down. Hands clasped around your midsection, throwing you into a suplex. First surprised, then happy. You laughed as you rolled into a low squat.

Undyne stood protectively over Frisk while Monster Kid helped him up.

"Now it's getting interesting!" You whooped. "Let's fight Captain Cod!"

Undyne glared at you, her stance way too defensive for her usual style. "I don't want to fight you." She said in a low tone.

"Really? Because you didn't seem all that conflicted when you suplexed me!"

"I was protecting the kid! I saw it in you. You hesitated to hurt Frisk, so I know the real you is still in there!" Undyne pled.

"This is the real me! I'm done with acting! This is how I really feel. My fucked up past, my stupid life, my nonexistent future... I know ALL of it. And I'm just setting justice!"

You propelled towards Undyne, a knife in each hand. The others helped Frisk and Monster Kid as you danced the Waltz of Battle, except for one set of eyes that still sat on you. Undyne used her spear to deflect attacks, but never countering with her own. She had gone completely defensive in hope not to hurt you. You left gashes in her scales, blood flaking off into ash on your blade.

You quickly grew bored with the fight and wanted it over. You dropped down and swept one of Undyne's legs. She wobbled backwards, loosing balance as she stumbled and fell. Eyes wide with excitement, you jumped above her, knife racing downwards as a cry rang from Undyne's lover.

A bone swept the air above Undyne, catching your stomach and throwing you against the far wall, blood splattering over your lip. You looked at and saw G!Paps helping Undyne up. Snarling you stood again and yelled.

"Why won't you just die?!"

More blades than ever before surrounded you and you gave a battle cry as you took on both opponents. Bones and spears filled the air, crushing your ranks of magical helpers. They dodged expertly as you tried to kill them. Frustration added fuel to your anger as you launched yourself at them repeatedly. Your movements began to slow as your chest heaved but black vines twisted around you, helping you move.

As the vines took your limbs, your muscles felt rejuvenated and moved faster. Your attacks began to hit and slowly you took their health. Your smile widened. Soon they were near exhaustion. You summoned more blades and threw them down on the two, waiting excitedly to see their ashes. As the dust cleared, your face fell. Toriel and Mettaton stood over Papyrus and Undyne, determination in their eyes.

"My child, I know you're confused, but killing us won't make it any better! You've already taken lives! Just stop now and we will help you reconcile." Toriel said.

Your brows rose and a malicious grin overtook your features. "Silly old bag, I don't need to reconcile for anything. After all, I'm just taking out the trash!"

With your increased speed, you almost instantly got behind her, blade at the ready. You attempted to embed it in her fur, but your knife was knocked away by Mettaton's powerful kick. "Ah ah ah darling~ no murder on my watch."

"Then I guess I'll have to kill you first!" You growled, flipping a new blade and trying to stab him in reverse.

Once again, you entered the same pattern, except this time the black vines could only do you so much. Your will started to waver as your body tired. They switched, each fighting me while the others tried to regain health. Even Frisk and Alphys gave it a shot when the other two pairs were too damaged.

You stumbled back a few feet, looking at them. There they stood in one strong line. Each of their gaze was set on you, filled with determination and something else. Your weapon was loose in your grip and your body was battered. The power that pushed you on was disappearing as the vines wilted and fell away.

Chest heaving you set your red eyes on them, hatred livid in your veins. "Why won't you fight back?!" You screamed. "After everything you won't even fight me like a real opponet."

"You're not our enemy (Y/N). You're our friend." G!Paps said.

"We would never hurt you. We just want our (Y/N) back." Frisk said quietly.

Your grit your teeth, taking a few steps back as they attempted to move towards you. "Our friend. Our enemy. Our (Y/N). I'M NOT AN OBJECT!!! I'M A PERSON!!! WHEN DO I GET TO HAVE SOMETHING?! WHEN DO I GET TO HAVE SOMEONE?! WHEN DO I GET MY HAPPY ENDING?!" You screamed bitterly.

For a second, maybe even a moment, you were back. You were hurt and lonely and confused. When tears peaked your eyes, they weren't soaked in the obsidian hue that currently painted your face. You wipes the liquid away furiously and shook your head.

"No, I-I know what I'm gonna do... I have someone special... I just... I just..."

Two arms wrapped around you and you jumped. Pulling yourself away a few inches, you looked at your captor, a quiet hiss echoing in your throat.

"You..." You muttered. "You were the worst one!"

You pushed away and looked at G!Sans. His eye was not aglow nor did he hold any kind of offensive stance. He just stood with a sad, pleading look in his eyes.

"(Y/N), tell me why you hate me." He said quietly.

"Why do I hate you?! Do you really want to know?!?! I trusted you! You saw parts of me no one else saw and then I realized what you really thought of me. You didn't just pity me. You thought I was a waste of space, a disappointment to everyone around me!"

Red energy swelled around you and the others began to fall back. G!Sans remained still, facing you head on. "I read it all! I was so upset when I saw how you looked down at me. I trusted you! Then I hear all these things about how I was an impostor. How I was a liar about my AU... how I was just desperate for attention... all from the one person I had left that saw me. My trust was shattered!"

Like a bomb exploding, the orb around you released, blasting everyone off their feet, except him. Your lip trembled as the words returned to your head. All of those thoughts twisting your mind into a deeper insanity. "I just want the voice to stop! I don't want to hear this anymore!" You sobbed, dropping to your knees. Your hands were pressed against the floor.

You could feel the real you in your grasp but she was disappearing quickly into the sucking void of the loss you felt. G!Sans kneeled in front of you, his eyes on level with yours. You didn't want to hurt him, but every thought... every word... every syllable edged you to the action. He was so close...

The knife in your hand twisted tightly in your grip, confliction stalling its movement. G!Sans' boney hand cupped your cheek, soothing your aching chest as you tried to stop crying. His finger below your chin, he raised your eyes to his. Once again they were mismatched and he smiled shakily.

"I can see your hurting there dove." He cooed quietly. "Would you like me to kiss it better?"

You laughed weakly between your choked sobs. "I can't stop this." You cried. "These voices won't leave me alone. Every fiber of my being wants to hurt you the same way I've suffered."

"Then those voices are all idiots." He said. "Because nothing makes me suffer worse than seeing you like this."

You were loosing to your insanity, knife moving slowly. "Sans, please... kill me. I can't do this. I can't survive this. You promised me..."

He shook his head. "I'm sorry (Y/N), I can't. I'm going to save you." He assured.

You shook your head. The knife twisted between you and him, blade flipping continuously. "Sans please... or run... I can't be saved."

He smiled, glowing golden tears in his eyes. "I don't believe that."

He brought his skull to your lips, sharing a kiss more passionate than any before. Your eyes flickered between red and normal as an internal battle pursued. You kissed him back, knife still in hand. You pulled away, and looked at him.

"I knew you wouldn't be able to keep your promise. You always were the worst at it."

Your blade hit mark, the smile on your face even more twisted with your tears. G!Sans gasped, eyes wideneing. Blood flew over teeth and you looked down at the knife between you, surprised with the glimmering blood that appeared.

You twisted the blade, hissing as you yanked it out. There wouldn't be a way to survive this. You threw the knife aside and smiled at G!Sans, your eyes once again matching in their original hue. He put his hands over the gash, attempting to stop it, but the blood merely flowing through the holes of his hand.

You pulled back the cloth of your sweater, revealing the wound you'd plunged into your flesh. You spat blood, eyes glistening with tears as you moved G!Sans' hands away. His panicked eyes moved from the bloody wound to your face.

"No, no! What did you do?!" He cried, trying to stop your bleeding.

"I knew you couldn't keep your promise, so I did for you." You choked out.

You were bleeding out quickly, throat sore from trying not to cry. G!Sans began to cry, as he bent over you. "Please don't leave me (Y/N), I need you." He sobbed.

You cupped your hand around his face, smiling. "You need to live..." You said quietly. "Please... for me..."

Dark spots invaded your eyes, your vision starting to leave you. Blood soaked through your clothing leaving it a haunting red color. His eyes were locked on the color. Moving gently, you moved his face to yours, forcing him to look at you. "Sans, I love you." You said.

"Don't say it like that! You're not dying! Y-You can't die."

You didn't respond, but smiled gently. With your remaining energy, you pressed your lips against his teeth, quiet tears trailing your face. He embraced you tightly kissing you with a bittersweet mixture of passion and desperation.

You felt your grip slip and you smiled into the kiss, choking on your last words. "You are the best thing that ever happened to me." You whispered as your eyes fell shut and your soul left your body.
