~Chapter 16~
Your vision returned but your body was numb. Red tinted all that you saw, liked you were watching through colored glass. Giggles of insanity played like background music, ebbing on your irritation and sour mood.
"Chara! Let my body go before I make you!" You yelled, worry and rage mixing into a toxic poison in your veins.
"Let you go?! I'm not stupid like you (Y/N). I finally have my choice vessel. It's about time I got to the fun part."
Their childish giggled turned into roars of horrifying laughter. You watched as your skin paled and your body changed. Though it was still your body, small parts changed. Your skin was pale and sickly and your clothes seemed to morph. An eerily familiar green and yellow sweater overtook your prior clothing. You recognized the clothing from Toriel's house back home.
Your hand raised and grasped firmly onto the blade you'd previously feared. Your laugh rang the air as Toriel appeared in the doorway. You watched as her recognition quickly dissolved into horror.
"C-Chara... My child... Y-You're alive?!" She stuttered.
"Hello mother dear!" Chara chirped.
You felt like a passenger in your own body. You screamed to Toriel to run. But nothing happened. Toriel ran to your body and embraced it like a toddler held their stuffed animal. Quiet giggles rang in your head as your hand reached the blade up behind Toriel's back.
Chara stop! You screamed, but then fell silent. Your voice echoed like Chara's once did when you were in control. You had no power to stop it.
Wet tears decorated your face as the knife rose higher. A new person appeared and you felt relief, even if brief.
G!Sans looked at the scene in horror, seeing how you changed. He knew exactly what had happened. You pled with him to kill you then but grief and pity took his promise from him. He took Toriel's soul with his magic and threw her to the side, the blade just milliseconds from lowering into Toriel's soft fur.
His golden-ringed eye gaze off waves if yellow flame, but his expression was soft.
"Mrs. Dreemur, that's not your child. That's a demonic soul that just possessed my girlfriend!"
Toriel looked from G!Sans to you with uncertainty. A long wail filled the air and you realized it was from your own mouth.
"I missed my mommy! The mean girls experiments trapped me soul in her body. I was so scared!"
No! That's a lie, please don't come any closer!
You pled until tears almost blinded you. You wiped them furiously and tried to gain control again.
Toriel rose steadily and looked at you, well, Chara. "It's okay my child, I won't let anyone hurt you." She said softly.
"Dreemur!"
"Be quiet Sans! I would recognize my own child." Toriel snapped.
G!Sans growled and took her soul with his magic again. She cried as G!Sans attempted to trap her away from the two of you. Chara appeared next to you, laughing hysterically.
"Oh my god! These idiots are just SO funny. Mom sure is gullible! Ha!"
You growled and lunged at her, but her form disappeared. "Ah ah ah! Not until the shows over!"
Give me back my body you rosy-cheeked bastard!
"Enjoy!"
Suddenly you saw the scene again, moving like it was actually you. Toriel thrashed around wildly as your own soul became yellow. You rose steadily and not too gently.
"Get the hell outta my girlfriend you snot-nosed brat." He hissed.
"Mom help!" Chara cried, retreating momentarily back into your mind to laugh.
G!Sans threw you down and Chara released an exaggerated cry. Toriel roared, her eyes and words dripping venom. "Release my child!" She screamed.
Balls of fire surrounding her and shot towards G!Sans. He was too busy holding two, technically three, souls hostage and couldn't evade the blow. You screamed out as you watched his bone begin to dissolve into dust. He spared a glance at you as he fell into Death's firm grasp.
"Stay strong kid." He said, before disappearing. Blood dribbled from his weak smile, turning too, into dust.
His magic dissipated and your body fell roughly. The others ran to the room, headed by G!Paps and Undyne. They looked in horror at the dust covered floor, then looking at Toriel whose paw-like hands were still ablaze. Your body remained still, mimicking the cover of shock.
G!Paps was silent as horrifying emotions painted his entire posture. He looked between his brother's remains and then to Toriel.
"B-Brother, w-what happened?" He asked unsteadily.
Undyne roared, tearing brimming her yellow eyes. "You killed Sans you fat old goat!"
Toriel looked at them harshly and stepped in front of your 'unconscious' body.
"That fool was aiming to harm my child. I did what must be done." She said coldly.
Frisk wiggled his way through and looked in terror at the dust. His eyes spilled tears almost immediately as he looked at his adoptive mother.
"Y-You killed him. You killed Sans..." He said between sobs.
He collapsed on to his knees and he pushed the dust together in useless piles, try to reform his skeleton friend.
"Sans... Sans come back! Y-You can't just leave like this! You still owe me a trip to Grillby's... And you were gonna take me and (Y/N) out to the MTT resort because she was interested. You've never broken a promised..." He broke down into a scream. "SANS COME BACK!"
Toriel held regret in her eyes but she stood rigidly. Her hand took Frisk's dust covered wrist in her grasp and yanked him behind her. Frisk tried pulling away, but she refused to let go.
"Let me go! You killed him! You killed Sans!" He sobbed. "I don't wanna be with you! Where's (Y/N)?!"
You pounded against invisible walls and screamed with all your will and might.
Frisk I'm right here... But please run! Take the others and run!
Undyne expression darkened. "Frisk, get ready to dodge."
You panicked, wanting to stop this more than you even wanted to survive. G!Paps put his hand in front of Undyne to stop her, but you could tell he wasn't choosing mercy. His gaze remained low as he spoke in a low and dangerous tone.
The color drained from around your bodies, leaving only black and red-tainted white bodies. Toriel's soul appeared in front of her, as did G!Paps. G!Paps finally raised his head and you held back a shriek. Never had you seen G!Paps so furious. Both eyes glowed, one purple, one orange. Both Gaster and Papyrus were combining their rage into a single battle.
Their voices layered over one another.
"You killed him..."
"My son..."
"My brother..."
"We won't let you go for this. You should prepare to have a bad time."
Your eyes and you reached out to him, but was too late. You tried to reach Gaster on a mental plane but black chains held you down. You screamed to him but your voice fell on only silence.
A pair of two Gaster Blasters appeared, flanking G!Paps. Toriel gasped and made quick work of throwing you and Frisk from harm. The beam of pure hatred and pain pierced the air with a whining noise. Toriel screamed out as her body dissolved into dust, then burnt even farther into particles almost too small to see.
Your body started to shake and an misplaced squeal of joy was shrill in the air. Your body rose from its limp state and a blade clutched loosely in your dominant hand.
"Mother dear was such a boring fight, like always. But I'm glad she took out the skeleton, I didn't feel like dealing with such a lowly monster. Frisk scooted away from you and raised an arm defensively. The others looked at you, fear lacing their movements. Your throat released a fry cackle and you smirked.
"Looks like I'm the new boogeyman! How about that?!" The words tasted like volatile bile, souring your tongue with their wicked meaning.
"(Y-Y/N)? What happened to you?!" Alphys stuttered, hiding slightly behind Undyne.
You snickered, then it grew into a full roar of laughter. "Sorry, but (Y/N)'s not here right now. But don't worry, I bet she had the absolute best seat in the house. Wouldn't want my dead partner to get the short end of the stick, now would we?"
Undyne hissed. "I knew it. You can't trust a human."
You shook your head dramatically in agreement. "You're right Undyne, Humans are just awful. But monsters are worse clearly, I mean... They are the ones that got stuck underground."
Undyne face twisted into a knot of rage. "You two-faced bitch! I thought we were friends!"
She charged at you, a wickedly-sharp spear positioned for the kill. Your legs moved smoothly as you side stepped her and then got behind her. You wrapped one arm harshly on her shoulder, then pressed the blade into her neck. She winced as your hand slowly guided the sharpened tool across her scales. In a swift movement, you broke her skin and slit her neck.
In the normal circumstance, she would resurrect. However that was only with a wound she could heal from. You can survive getting your neck chopping in the middle. She exploded into a cloud of dust, leaving it all over you. You watched, horrified and licked the dust from the blade like it was a Popsicle.
Chara turned your body and looked at Alphys and G!Paps. "Who's next?"
Red faced and sobbing, Alphys snarled. She drew a blade from her bag and eyed you with murder in mind. "I should've killed you the first time I saw you on camera." She snarled.
You recognized the blade from her favorite anime and your heart sank. The replica could next kill you.. and you were well aware Alphys knew that as well. She charged you with the blade and you repeated the same move you did with Undyne, but instead adding a few more seconds of life by saying a select few words.
"I'll show you mercy, and kill you the same way I killed your pathetic fish lover."
Alphys was silent as you slot her throat, her dust mixing with that of her friends. It seemed the kitchen was now carpeted in the stuff. G!Paps looked in horror at you.
"Frisk... Run. Run as fast as you can and get Asgore, the guard, anyone that will help."
Bones and Gaster Blasters circled you as G!Paps raised his arm in a shaky command. The lasers hissed in the air but your body moved like a phantom. At one point, in front of Gaster Blaster, then gone. The beam of one would destroy another until the Blasters were all gone. You were attacked by a rain of bones and an insane laughter made you cringe.
"Oh Papyrus, I used to think your fights were trivial. Now I think you're actually worth fighting." A sighed replaced your merry tone. "It's too bad you weren't good enough."
The blade came down in a swift motion, slicing through his turtleneck and through bone like they were butter. His eyes widened, tears breaking off and running over his dust covered face.
"Why (Y/N)? I thought we were friends..."
A harsh laugh met his remark. "Sorry idiot. But you're talking to Chara now. Maybe you'll see (Y/N) when her God lets her escape her mind and finally die."
He disappeared. You were silent as you watched your vision pan over the kitchen. A knife was flipped in your hand like it'd always been that way. Your throat ached to scream but you couldn't between silent sobs, finally one came through, fracturing the wall that went between you and reality. Chara growled in frustration as your throat-ripping scream broke into her control. Your body mimicked your tortured cry and released you tears, making the insane look and unforgiving smile all the more menacing.
Your body moved in a sprint, following the small frame of your dead friend Frisk. He sobbed and heaved, slowing him even more. He was just stepping foot in the fresh powdered snow. You tackled him, pinning him hardly to the ground. His head cracked against the frozen ground, breaking a small cut on his head and allowing him to bleed.
He sobbed and tried to escape but you even more tightly, causing his tears to increase as pain added to his sorrow.
"Do you know what I love about humans? Something a monster could never fill the need to see?"
Frisk sobbed and tried to shrink away as you held the knife in your free hand. The tip traced the trials of his tears, leaving fine cuts on his face, neck and shoulders. Your lips leaned into his ear and a hiss escaped your mouth that was not yours nor Chara's... it was a demons.
"They bleed."
Your hand worked wildly, cutting Frisk's flesh but never daring to go deep enough to kill. He shrieked under you but your hands kept moving. After fifteen minutes of torture your body released a sigh. "Oh well, I guess play time is over."
The blade raised and Frisk tried to escape, but was unsuccessful. The blade dove and embedded itself into his chest. He wriggled around for a bit longer before falling still. His eyes grew dull and his skin became colder than the snow surrounding it.
You were pushed over the edge. You screamed with a poisonous mixture of grief, rage, sorrow, vengeance and regret. You took every last bit of will in your body and forced Chara out of control. They laughed madly, knowing they had already won. You sat numbly in the snow, staring at Frisk's innocent body. You took him in your arms and cried into him. Long awaited sobs filled the cold, crisp air. You counted repeatedly for each life you just took.
One... Gaster!Sans. My lover, my closet friend, the first person to show me real love without alcohol.
Two... Toriel. You're mother figure. The one you didn't kill, up until now.
Three... Undyne. Your best friend. You laughed and confided almost every detail of your life to her.
Four... Alphys. Your colleague and sister. She not only understood your crazy ideas but helped you make them possible.
Five... Gaster!Papyrus. Second half of two adoring brothers. He always had a smile to offer and a comment to make you happy.
Six... Frisk. Your little brother. He was the closet thing you had to family since you couldn't see your real family without facing their wrath again.
You sobbed, but quickly numbed. Your face fell into a blank stare as you looked at the knife, still resting in your hand. You examined it, still finding it sharp and prepared. You pulled it up and swung it down, piercing your gut. Blood splattered over your lip as you looked into Death's grip.
Seven... (Y/N). The fool. She let a demon kill the people she loved... and did nothing to stop it.
