Chapter 18
"I'll wait for you."
That's what Chenle had said, making him feel like a fool after nearly a week had passed and Park Jisung made no move to own him.
He was pissed.
Entirely Jisung's fault for confessing and then disappearing. So when an incoming call arrived on a fine evening, Chenle couldn't help but to snap.
"Hel-"
"Go away. And you of all people shouldn't be calling in such casualness, Jisung-ie."
"Hello? I haven't seen or spoken to you in a week and after our night out, I figured I should call you."
"Fuck you. You took too long and I'm going on a date right now so call me later."
With an aggressive click, Chenle hung up and crossed his arms, staring outside of the vehicle window with an indignant huff.
Jisung, on the other hand, stared at his phone with a raging pit of fire blooming in him. He was pissed. He knew they weren't together, he didn't make a move, and Chenle was free, but that didn't stop his fury. Pacing ensued in his living room and his Mothers looked at him in concern.
"Jisung-ie, if you like him that much, you need to do something," his Ma said cautiously.
"Exactly. You've never put the vaguest interest in anyone and he's a very nice boy if you didn't pick on him so much," his Mom added. "Stop pacing and sit down. He's probably enjoying his date without a single thought of you since you put no effort and here you are stressing."
Jisung paused for a moment, a frown as he sighed and looked at the grand ceiling before nodding.
"Okay, I'll take a shower then."
Without a response, Jisung flicked his wrist in a farewell motion, stomping up the stairs whilst pulling off his clothes. No one to stop him, no one to calm him down, no one that could make him feel better about the fact that Chenle could do what he wanted since he didn't actually have any deep and serious relations with him.
By the time he made it into his room and into the adjoining bathroom, his clothes except boxers were mostly off. A quick shimmy and he was bare, water turning on as loudly as possible to pour out in near-deafening amounts as he stepped foot in. A phone balance was where he then placed his device, one hand scrolling through his gallery as water cascaded down his head and another hand pumping out lube from a bottle he kept in the shower for reasons such as that.
If he couldn't have Chenle to himself, he could at least have his pretty face to stare at as he jacked off and made a mess. Zhong Chenle really was delightful in all aspects and mayhaps Jisung would permanently push away everything he initially thought just to have him. It had been a bit hard to admit but Jisung realized that not only did he think his face was admirable, but also his snarky attitude began to grow on him. Call him crazy or insane but he found it endearing when he was annoyed.
That possibly all started the day Chenle made his mind turn to mush by whispering false leading words to him. The day he had clambered into his lap and gave him a problem in his pants in public. The day where he wasted no time in getting home and jacking off the second he got in his room.
"I want you."
"Oh my god!"
Only for those words to take a turn and become; 'I want you to SHUT THE FUCK UP AND LEAVE ME ALONE!' It should've been;
"I want you to fuck me!"
"FUCK!"
His lubed hand slathered the substances easily over his aching cock, head thrown back as he took a glance at Chenle's fucked expression before letting out a low moan.
Why didn't he try harder to start something with Chenle? Why didn’t he try from before to be a decent fucking human? And because of that, he was now out with someone possibly running their grimy hands over him. Who knows, it was the first date but what if his confidence spiked and he now had his throat filled with another cock? Jisung couldn't think of it. His own hand couldn't satisfy him the way he was satisfied when he was with Chenle but he couldn't just go out and ask someone to do a favour. He really couldn't unless he wanted to feel dirty. That was a problem.
Why did he feel as if he was cheating when Chenle was out having fun? The problem here was that Chenle had insisted that Jisung put a label on it, he had confessed his undying love, and now the other was dating? He couldn't understand but sometimes the universe fucked with you to test your patience level and by the looks of it, Jisung's level was way down.
With a low and guttural moan, Jisung cummed over his shower wall, the water instantly washing it off as he sighed.
He had a crush and it was bad.
His night could've ended badly but the moment he got out of his shower, he was attacked with a laugh from downstairs.
Frowning, he searched his brain for any schedule that required his cousin to be present and he shook his head. He didn't even want to see her. And he concluded that she had no business being there either.
But all of his hopes and dreams were ruined the moment he heard his Ma calling him down and he just had to grit his teeth because he wanted to take a nap that would last all evening and all night so that when he would wake up, Chenle would finally be out from his date and he would've slept right through the others happy moments and had his sad moments in unconsciousness.
"Jisung! Come down! Iseul is here! Come greet her for a moment!"
With an exasperated grumble and a shirt thrown on inside out, he made his way down to see his cousin with a cheerful smile way in contrast to what he was feeling at that moment. Wait, was she the one that had gone on a date with Chenle? Was that why she seemed so delightfully happy?
He swore he would have a mental breakdown if she was the one. The worst part would be that he’d understand Chenle’s reasoning. He’d understand that he was trying to get a rise, prove to him that he was free, show that whatever Jisung said didn’t matter until he could label them. Jisung wasn’t that big on labels, believing in them when necessary but Chenle was a huge fan of them, insisting on a label or else it wasn’t valid. Chenle was on the market and he was making sure he’d know. So if it turned out that Iseul and Chenle had gone out on a date and she was here to rub it in, he’d accept his defeat and potentially take an extra week to recover. He wouldn’t live in peace for a long time.
"Jisung-ie! I haven't seen you in ages!"
"You saw me last week," Jisung deadpanned, a frown present as he tried figuring out if she was acting normally or if she was there to now hurt the feelings right out of him.
"Why so sour? I'm off to China in three hours and this is your greeting to me? I just came to bid you farewell."
"Yeah, I hope you stay there forever."
Iseul squinted her eyes, poking her cousin on the chest as she tisked.
"Is this still about your boyfriend? Come to think of it, I was with him earlier!” Iseul said happily, Jisung feeling his entire soul fall right through his feet. That was it. He was ready to repent of all his sins and take a break from Earth. He had never felt such hurt start blooming in him as he felt then. Iseul won, she won, and he lost. Never had he experienced such major loss as the way he felt then. It was horrid. “He was having so much fun I was almost envious but then I remembered I'm going on a trip with my friends and I no longer felt envious! He has a gorgeous smile, y’know."
Jisung inhaled deeply, wanting the day to end already and for a new one to arrive so that he could call Chenle and ask him all about the date he was sure he could one-up magnificently. If Iseul felt intimidated by his radiant smile, that meant he could do better. He’d make sure his date would be the best one ever.
"I need you to shut up. I don't wanna hear about your date. At all. Now I’ll kindly excuse myself from your presence," Jisung muttered tiredly
"Date? He was with his parents," Iseul said thoughtfully. "Family date I guess. They were buying ice cream and he looked so cheerful."
Oh. Jisung was stunned but kept it inside for a moment so Iseul wouldn't know that he had been stressing over someone─ at first, a man─ touching Chenle that he now learned didn't even exist. The new life that hit him with full force never felt fresher, the feeling of death he had already gained inside suddenly vanishing as he could almost collapse and weep in joy. He couldn’t begin to explain the joy he felt. He could almost laugh at himself and then proceed to punch himself for automatically assuming he was with someone else but in reality, it was all Chenle's fault for making it sound as if he were with someone else when in reality he was just with his parents. It was damn near laughable, to say the least.
"What flavour ice cream?" Jisung opted to ask instead, his Mother's simply watching them converse.
"I don't know. Chocolate chip?"
And Jisung really did laugh. Loud and relieved and realized that Chenle was potentially still scared of eating vanilla ice cream after spending some─ or a lot of─ time with him. He laughed because he was so, so relieved that Chenle hadn’t gone out with someone and was still waiting. although angrily.
"Well thanks, I guess, and I think this is the only time where you were genuinely productive in your gossip. I'm going to sleep now so have fun."
All three were left in full silence, watching Jisung walk away as his Mom shook his head.
"That boy will get old before he starts officially dating Chenle. I'm so tired of watching him pine over him and do nothing except insist that they'll eventually get together."
The other two standing at the doorway slowly nodded, watching him wind down a hall and carry himself up the stairs, shirt tag flapping out thanks to his hasty dressing.
"Anyways, I'll be going now! Have a good day!" Iseul exclaimed, waving as she walked down the path with a large smile.
"Take care, dear!"
As Jisung flopped off to bed, Chenle allowed his day's excitement to come to a halt and finally think of Jisung, and Iseul made her way to the airport with rowdy girlfriends, the universe decided that it could use Iseul as its driving force.
