The Start Of The Fall

Third person POV

October, 1988

In a normal sized house in Derry,Maine two brothers chat happily over a paper boat before the youngest of the two rushes out the room past another young figure who had just arrived home herself "Really?" someone says once Georgie had disappeared downstairs. Shocking Bill who looked up to find his twin sister Trixie leaning against his doorframe looking at him with a face that told him that she wasn't impressed with him. While he just looked at her with a questioning look on his face "Vomit coming out of your nose ?" she questioned incredulousy before continuing on in a disaproving tone "You could of just said that you didn't want to go outside today." Bill simply looked at her feigning innocence "What?" he asked softly "Im s-sick." he continued quietly before adding a couple of well placed coughs to try to convince his twin who could see right through him.

"Sure you are." Trixie said mockingly to her twin before shifting herself from the door to walk further into Bills room picking up the paper boat from his bed and examining it before holding it in front of her brother while giggling softly "The S.S Georgie huh, cute." "Shut up" Bill says snatching it back from her. "Did you j-j-just ge-" Bill started to ask before being interrupted by Georgie "Trixie your back" he said excitedly racing to give his big sister a hug "Sure am captain." she said playfully while giving him a little salute making her brothers laugh.

While his siblings were still stuck together from Georgies vicious cuddle attack Bill started heating the wax that his little brother had brought up from the cellar for him to paint on the paper boat. Once the wax was melted and the siblings had detached themselves from their welcome home hug they both went over to watch Bill paint on the wax with Georgie squeezed between his two older siblings. After Bill had painted the last stroke of wax on to the boat he turned to Georgie handing the boat over while saying "Alright there you go s-s-s-she's all ready captain." "She?" Georgie asked his brother gently "Yeah, you always call boats s-she." said Bill "She." Georgie said as if he was committing to memory what his brother had just told him about ships.

While his older sister just smiled happily at the sight of her brothers bonding over something as simple as a paper boat "So Captain Georgie where exactly are you sailing this ship?" Trixie asked in a light tone "Just down the street." Georgie said before turning to his sister and asking "Are you coming with me Trixie?" His sister shot him an adoring smile that she had reserved for her little brother and said in a light tone "I sure will be bud but I just have to talk to Billy about some boring stuff first, so you can go on ahead and set sail and I will catch up to you ok?" "Ok Trixie" Georgie said in a bright tone before gives older brother and sister a warm hug and calling out behind him "See you later bye".

"S-so?" Bill started to ask before continuing on "What d-did you need to t-t-talk about?" "Oh yeah about that it's nothing spec-" Trixie started saying before she cut herself off and telling her twin to wait a minute before dashing downstairs leaving Bill confused. As Trixie jumped of the last step she saw her little brother about to leave through the door. Happy that she had caught him before he left she called out loudly so he could here her over the rain outside "Georgie you forgetting something." she asked teasingly with a eyebrow raised and a grin on her face before holding up his yellow raincoat for him to see that he had forgotten to put it on. Embarrassed Georgie quickly ran over to his older sister saying "Sorry Trix I just got so excited I forgot." "It's ok Georgie I just don't want you catching a cold." Trixie said gently while kneeling down to help her little brother put his raincoat.

Looking up at him while smiling she said in an adoring tone "There now the captain has his uniform, you look all proper now." before giving him a cheeky wink smoothing down his jacket "Thanks your the best, I love you Trixie." Georgie said in an equally adoring tone while smiling at his older sister "I love you too Captain George." Trixie responded softly while giving her brother a hug before pulling away and playfully yanking the hood of his raincoat over his head sending them both into laughter. "Now off you run I'll catch up to you in minute alright pay attention to where your walking and be safe till I get there ok?" Trixie said in a serious tone that said that there was no room for arguments "I will Trixie I promise." Georgie said honestly before giving his sister one last hug and running off into the rain leaving his sister to go back upstairs, not knowing that the goodbye hug she had just gotten from her little brother was the last one she would ever receive from him.

Walking back into Bills room she finds her brother sat at the same spot that she left him but he was now drawing to pass the time while he waited for his twin but looked up at her with a questioning look on his face once he heard her come back. Seeing the confusion on her twins she filled him in by explaining "Georgie was going to leave without his raincoat so I went down to remind him." now knowing why his twin left in such a hurry he understood and laughed "He's always f-forgetting things like that or leaving s-s-stuff behind." he said in a joking voice still laughing to which his sister responded in a teasing tone "He'd probably leave one of his limbs behind if they weren't attached." After their laughter calmed down Bill looked at his sister "So how was visiting your friend?" he asked in a curious tone to which caused his sister looked at him with narrowed eyes before saying sassily "My friend has a name you know." "I know he does but iv'e never talked to him so I just know him as home school." Bill replied in a simple but honest tone.

His sister took a moment to think about what he said before flopping onto his bed agreeing with him "Yeah I know, but anyway it was alright he's doing good a bit stressed cause of his grandfather pressuring him into the business but it was good to catch up with him this morning." Trixie said thoughtfully. "Thats good." Bill said before pausing to think about what his twin said "Wait catch, if you j-just caught up with him this morning than what were y-you doing for the r-rest of the time you were g-gone?" Bill questioned her to which she meekly turned away from her twin thinking on whether or to tell him where she actually was for the rest of the time she was gone. Bill turned to face his twin fully "Beatrix." said Bill in a stern tone using her rarely used full name. "Hey! do you really have to bring out the full name William." Trixie whined not liking her twin using her full name that usually meant she was in trouble.

"Stop trying to change the subject Trix where were you?" Bill questioned again determined to get an answer out of his twin. Knowing that she wasn't getting anywhere with avoiding the subject Trixie looked down at her twiddling thumbs in her lap before confessing to her brother where she was meekly "Bower's house." "TRIXIE!" Bill exclaimed shocked and looking at her wig eyed like she had gone insane "What t-the hell were you doing there? what were you thinking?" Bill said at that point worried for his sisters sanity because she was at Henry Bowers house the Losers Clubs main tormenter. " I was only there cause I was checking on CJ and she was with Patrick and the rest of them at Bowers house, I wouldn't have been there otherwise I'm not completely insane." Trixie responds quickly to her brother know how he feels about her hanging around Bowers and his gang of tormentors.

After Trixies explanation however Bill softens his slightly judgmental stare on his sister as it is practically common knowledge to everyone in the town of Derry that while the girls are two years apart in age it has never changed the fact that Trixie Denbrough and CJ Tozier were as close as could be as they had always seen each other as sisters and were often always found together if they weren't with there own friend groups such as the Losers Club and The Bowers Gang and knowing that Bill realises that his sister hasn't gone completely off the deep end so dropping the subject of where he was he changes it to the oldest Tozier "So how is CJ r-recovering then?" He asks softly changing the subject as everyone had been happy once CJ started recovering and he had know that his twin had been one of the ones to worry the most when the accident happened. "She's doing good, great actually at the rate its going she'll be fully healed in time for summer." Trixie said enthusiastically, happy that the girl she saw as a sister was almost fully healed and doing better. "Thats great i-it's good that she's better its not n-normal for CJ to not be up and about or threatening to h-h-hit the next person that looks at her wrong." Bill said laughing softly with his twin as they remembered all the times would that CJ would threaten to punch the next person to look at her funny.

After reminiscing for awhile over the older Toziers antics Bill suddenly remembered that his sister had said that she needed to talk to him about something before she could catch up with Georgie. So turning to his twin he asked her in a teasing and curious tone "So what boring stuff d-did you need t-t-to talk to me about?" being reminded by her brother of what she initially had to talk to him about she responded without missing a beat "Oh that I just had to talk to you about what you want for dinner? and if you want anything from the store? dads put me uncharge of shopping again so after boat sailing I'll take Georgie for ice cream then pick uptake groceries." Trixie said in what sounded like one breath. "Oh ok uhh I can't t-think of anything that I want I mean we've still g-g-got those snacks from the last movie night for the Losers right?" Bill said in a slightly unsure tone "yup we sure do brother dearest."Trixie said in a jovial tone. "Ok w-well then I don't need a-anything thanks Trixie." Bill said gratefully "No problem Billy I just wanted to make sure, I better go catch up to Georgie before the captain decides to throw me overboard." Trixie said laughing while leaning over to give her brother a hug goodbye "bye Billy" she said pulling back and grabbing her raincoat before leaving with her brother calling out a muffled goodbye from behind her.

By the time Trixie had gotten out the door and put her coat on the rain had seemed to double in volume from when Georgie left to the point where she had a hard time seeing and hearing but she walked down the stairs of her porch knowing that she had promised her brother that she would catch up to him and if theres one thing everyone knows about Trixie denbrough is that she doesn't break promises. So she started walking down the street squinting through the rain while trying to find her brother calling out"Georgie where are you?!" getting no answer that she could hear over the rain and just as she started call out again Trixie stopped and squinted through the rain just able to make out her little brother in his bright yellow rain coat from afar it looked like he was bent over a sewer drain reaching in to grab something, not thinking much of it she just smiled before calling out to her brother once more "Geor-" she started to say before her own brothers screams of pain interrupted her "AAGGHHH HELLLP MEE" she heard him scream as she saw him suddenly lunge away from the drain clawing desperately at the ground. Trixie felt her heart drop to her stomach as her instincts suddenly kicked in "GEORGIE!!" she screamed as she sprinted as fast as she could to her little brother her lungs on fire from what could've been her running to fast or the first signs of a panic attack she didn't care all she could think about was getting to her little brother and as she was a few meters away from him chaos struck and she tripped over a street sign that caused her to fall forward her head making a resounding thud against the concrete surly leaving her concussed. Dissorientated she could not seem to grasp control of her body as her heartbeat pounded in her ears before suddenly one sound cut through it and seemed to stop her heart in its tracks and that sound was her brothers final scream the last sound that she would ever here from him.

Trixie scrambled up not caring about the scrapes and bruises or the concussion that she definitely had she ran as fast as she could the rest of the way to where her brother once was but to her horror only found a trail of blood in his place. Instant tears shone in her eyes rapidly turning in circles trying to find her little brother but finding nothing she sobbed as she felt her heart shatter only thinking that this was her fault as she fell to her knees screaming in a tone that would shatter the coldest mans heart "GEORGIE WHERE ARE YOU!!!!!!" before finally succumbing to her injuries and blacking out falling to the ground unconscious where her brother once been with her last thought being this is all my fault.
