Prologue
Ayame stood next to Miyu and Saki, the two girls she had grown the closest too during her stay in her home village. They were almost to the village, the place she hadn't been in for two years. Had things changed?
A grin appeared on her pale face, her thoughts drifting to Kiba. She had left the boy hanging, she could still feel the buzz on her lips, the tingle bringing her mind to her happy place. Ayame hadn't even planned on kissing Kiba that day, in fact he was the only one who even got some sort of goodbye.
"Ne, ne, Ayame-nee?" Miyu asked, tilting her head cutely as her now longer hair cascaded down her back.
Ayame glanced at her, making a strange sound before she properly answered. "What is it, Miyu?"
"Why are you blushing? Were you thinking of dog boy again?" Saki nodded along with Miyu, both their gazes intensifying on the slightly older girl as they eagerly awaited an answer.
They seemed to always be like this, asking questions that obviously weren't their business. Ayame couldn't help herself though, she told them both anything, even if they didn't ask. She guessed that was why they were snooping around the boy who Ayame felt like she loved.
The red-head nodded, her gaze falling into that of a love sick school-girl, hearts circling around her eyes to prove her point. Miyu scrunched up her face, sharing the look with Saki before giving her opinion on the whole matter. "Screw him. He's bad for you, Ayame-nee. Can't you see that? You'd be better off with Naruto-kun or something!"
Now it was Ayame's turn to make a face, running ahead slightly before she turned around, a huge smile on her face as well as a peace sign held up in the air. She would prove them wrong, Kiba wasn't a bad guy. Sure, she and him rarely ever got along but Ayame loved him.
She was sure of it.
"Naruto? No way! He's too high-strung on Sakura-chan, who's way to oblivious to even notice him! I bet she's still chasing after Sasuke. . ." Ayame trailed off, her thoughts going to the rescue mission that had failed miserably.
Saki shook her head, her light brown hair flying all over her face but the girl made no move to fix it. "Kiba-kun was your mistake, Ayame-nee. I think you should try and forget about it before you become like Naruto!"
Ayame just blocked her friends out then, stopping in front of the gates. She remembered it like it was yesterday, she remembered the day she left. It was a scary feeling, leaving without even telling anyone, minus Tsunade and Kiba, well sorta.
It was more like she left Kiba with a kiss on the lips and had a huge meeting with the council of Konoha. Ayame was ordered to come back immediately is she was ever summoned back, no matter the reason. She didn't mind it, no, because Miyu and Saki were allowed to stay with the girl.
Aoi would be coming later, a couple months at the least. She was in training to become apart of some organization to help orphans. Burakku still disliked Ayame with a passion.
No matter what she did, Ayame just couldn't seem to make it up to him.
Izumo and Kotetsu looked up from their post, both surprisingly awake. Izumo grinned, obviously recognizing the red-head standing in front of him.
"Ayame-san!"
Kotetsu glanced between the two, trying to understand what was happening. Who the hell was this girl, waiting to be allowed passage?
Ayame grinned, nodding her hello. "Izumo-san, nice to finally see you again."
Finally Kotetsu had enough, he waved his hands in front of himself, his face scrunched in confusion. "Wait, wait, wait! Who the hell are you and how do you know Izumo?"
Ayame let out a small laugh, shaking her head. "You obviously don't remember me, Kotetsu-san. Ayame Yuhei, Kurenai's daughter."
Kotetsu turned a bright red, his face matching the color of Ayame's hair. He hadn't expected the girl to ever come back, yet, here she was. "W-why are you back?"
"I dunno. Tsunade-sama summoned me back, so here I am," She waved at the two of them, turning and walking off into the village. "See ya, don't fall asleep!"
Miyu and Saki followed after Ayame, stifling their laugh behind their hands. Ayame was getting better with socializing with people, now being able to hold full conversations with them.
Ayame felt a tug in her heart, like she was about to experience something bad but she dismissed it, not wanting to put much thought into it. She needed to let Tsunade know she was here and what the hell she was summoned back for.
She was actually having fun with her family, minus the fact that her step-mother always seemed to want to kill her. She even found out she had cousins, Saki being one of them.
With a quick knock, Ayame opened the door to Tsunade's office, smiling at the women sitting behind the desk. Tsunade got up instantly, bringing the girl in for a hug and nearly suffocated the girl with her huge breast.
Tsunade didn't let the now fifteen year old girl go until she was satisfied. Ayame gasped for air when she was released, being quite dramatic. The older women rolled her eyes as she gestured for Ayame to sit in the chair in front of her desk while Tsunade went and sat in her own chair.
Ayame glanced at Miyu and Saki, both standing in the back of the room with their forehead protecters glinting in the light. Ayame could see the engraving of the mist village and everything she had learned proved to be vital for Tsunade to know.
Ayame just didn't know if she could sell out her home village. She sat down in the chair, waiting for Tsunade to start speaking or at least do something.
Tsunade sat back in her chair, kicking her feet on top of her desk as she waited for some kind of emotion to fill the fifteen year olds face in front of her. Tsunade could only read confusion on Ayames face and that was obviously not what she wanted to see. The busty women folded her arms across her lap, finally breaking the silence. "Ayame, do you even have any clue as to why I've called you back, informing you to bring your two most closest friends?"
After this was said, Tsunade's eyes glided to the back of the room where the two young girls stood, side by side. Tsunade looked at who she thought was Miyu, the girls brown hair was tied into two braids on the side, her bangs clipped back by her forehead protector. The girl wore a red shirt with a fishnet underneath, with bandages covering her stomach. She paired it off with a black shit, bandages going down her thighs to obviously hide anything. She looks young, thirteen at most and the girls already a chunin? Tsunade asked herself, frowning.
Now the blonde women's eyes drifted over to Saki, her eyes narrowing. Saki had a light ginger hair color, with two hair clips pinning back her bangs on the right side. Her forehead protector hung loosely around her neck. The girl wore a grey hoodie, the sleeves black as well as the hood. She paired it off with a black shirt as well, wearing a pair of what looked like black leggings underneath.
The odd thing that bothered Tsunade was the fact that all three girls had the same chilling green eyes. They held secrets and Tsunade, being the women she was, didn't like that one bit. She could feel the nervousness radiating off of Ayame as well as the strong-willed protection of the two girls in the back.
Finally Ayame answered, shaking her head which caused her red hair to fly everywhere. "No, my father didn't tell me anything. Just that you would like me back in the village, Tsunade-sama."
Miyu exchanged a look with Saki, both the girls scrunching up their faces. Even they knew why they had been summoned to Konoha and they were sure that Ayame's father had told her as well.
Tsunade sighed, grumbling about it being even more work now since Ayame didn't know. "The kazekage has been kidnapped by a group I'm sure you've heard of, the Akasutki."
"Eh?" Ayame felt her face drop, the nervous smile she had been wearing gone within those few seconds. She barely knew the kazekage but knew how much he meant to Naruto. She also remembered him from the chunin exams, she could feel his blood-lust even from the other side of the arena.
"Let me continue," Tsunade glared at the girl slightly before continuing to speak. "I've already sent Team Kakashi after him but I feel as if they'll need backup. I'm sure you remember Team Gai, correct?"
As she spoke, a knock came from the door and opened within a few seconds. The first person to walk through was the stoic Neji, the boy barely even glancing at Ayane. Instead the Hyuga kept his eyes trained on Saki and Miyu, the two foreign ninja obviously bothering him.
The next person made Ayame cry out in joy, the girl jumping from her seat as she tackled the older brown-haired girl. "Tenten!"
The older girl let out a laugh, hugging Ayame back awkwardly. With the way she was positioned, it was hard to hug the younger girl back.
Gai and Lee walked into the room next, however, Gai stopped the moment he saw Tenten and Ayame hugging. "Youthful flowers, they shine so bright!" He said while tears streamed from his eyes. Lee copied his sensei, both of them creeping out Miyu and Saki more.
Miyu had never been a fan of Gai, the strange man creeping her out immensely. Saki, having never met him before, just scooted away from the door, trying to get as far away as she could without someone noticing.
Tsunade nodded at the people now in front of her, her eyes scanning over all of them before telling them their mission. "Gai, I'm leaving you to be the backup squad for Team Kakashi. Report back if you can."
Gai saluted the Hokage before running out of the room, screaming that they would be leaving immediately.
Ayame turned to the Homage before she left, tilting her head. "Tsunade-sama, may I ask why I was required to bring Miyu and Saki?"
With a glint in her eyes, Tsunade stood up as she walked towards the young girl. "I'm not supposed to do this, Ayame. However, I'm making you a chunin. Also, seeing as you obviously get along with your sister and cousin, you're now a team. When you get back, I'll assign you all a sensei."
Tsunade glanced at them all, as if expecting one of them to object. "Saki, you're the only genin on the team now, correct?"
The young girl nodded, her eyes wide since she was finally able to talk to the Hokage, who was younger then Saki had thought.
Tsunade nodded, smiling at the three of them, along with Tenten who was still in the room, waiting for Ayame.
"Welcome back, Ayame."
