chapter one
When Bianca Vale woke up this morning, she didn't think that the Sokovia Headquarter was going to be attacked. Well, she honestly didn't think anything unnormal would happen, since life on the HYDRA secret base was mostly filled with endless experiments, and staring at the stone ceiling. As the bombs started to explode outside, a unformalliar adrenaline started to follow through the young girls veins. Today was different, today was finally the day where the newly-powered girl could show her strength to the scientist of HYDRA.
"Report to your stations immediately. This is not a drill. We are under attack! We are under attack!"
Shouting followed the announcement, and the sound of boats against concrete thumped through the base, sending shiver through Bianca's cold body. Her crystal blue eyes glanced at the two eighteen-year-olds standing beside her, and they both returned the look of thrill. The red-haired girl, Wanda, took Bianca's hand, and squeezed it roughly. The gesture brought a tiny bit of warmth to the frozen girls heart, and it made her adrenaline spike slightly.
The three were standing in one of the main resecearh labs, and with every passing second, the room continued to fill with panicked scientists. Chaos was high in the air, and Bianca could smell the anxiousness rolling off of the workers. The sight of the panic brought a small smirk to her pale skin, it was enjoyable for her to see the fearfulness of the ungrateful scientists. Bianca might be on the side of HYDRA, but the attackers were no coming for her, they were coming for them.
"Who gave the order to attack?" Strucker asked, walking into the room. The middle-aged man sent a wave of intimation over the young girl, and the sight of the angry lines in his face made her uneasy. He walked over to one of the workers, who was standing over a group of computers. His stance became tense when he saw the organizer walking over to him.
"Herr Strucker, it's the Avengers," The man said, and Strucker's expression immediately hardened with anxious anger, "They landed in the far woods. They perimeter guard panicked."
"They have to after the specter," Strucker whispered to another one of the head scientists. Bianca, and probably everyone else on the HYDRA base knew that the great and mighty Avengers were hear for Loki's specter. The god's object was the only thing that kept this base running, but it was stolen from the very popular Avengers, how have been desperately trying to find the specter for over a year now. HYRDA and Strucker were stupid to think that they could hid the device forever. But the thought of the Avengers getting their hands on what they want made Bianca want to rip her fingernails out.
"Can we hold them?" Strucker asked.
"They're the Avengers," The man responded in his thick accent.
"Deploy the rest of the tanks. Concentrate fire on the weak ones. A hit may make them close ranks," Strucker commanded before turning towards the large-nosed scientist. Bianca leaned back against the stone wall, listening closely to the conversation before the two head leaders of the research base. "Everything we've accomplished... but we're on the verge of our greatest breakthrough."
"Then let's show them what we've accomplished," The man responded, "Send out Bianca and the twins."
The young girl held her breath, waiting desperately for Strucker to give them the order to fight. Bianca wanted nothing more than to release the adrenaline that was coursing through her veins, she wanted nothing more than to fight against the Avengers. She wanted to show them that they aren't the only one who can become powerful, and protect humanity.
HYDRA might lose today, but Bianca was sure as hell not gonna fall with them.
"It's too soon," Strucker answered after a beat of questioning. Bianca let out a sharp sigh, and crossed her arms tightly around her flat chest. Her eyes glanced over at the twins, who wore the same upset expression. The boy, Pietro, rolled his eyes and started to tap his foot anxiously. Wanda continued to stand still, her thoughts on the very formillar sound of explosions outside the old stone walls.
Dr. List sighed, upset with the leader decision, "It's what they signed up for."
"My men can hold them."
Bianca snorted lightly at Strucker's confidences, and even though she didn't want to give the superheros much credit, but she had seen the videos. The Avengers had beaten aliens, they could easily take down some trained soldiers. But the fourteen-year-old girl knew what the HYDRA leader was playing at. He knew that they weren't going to win this battle, but he knew that he and the database will be gone once they break through the shield.
Strucker, and the others fell silent, watching and listening to the destruction outside in the snowy morning. The thumping of foots filled the base corridors, telling everyone in the main research center that more soldiers were heading out to fight. The panic was dying away slowly and quickly turning to anxiousness, everyone was waiting for the moment when the Avengers would take their battle into the headquarters.
"I can't believe this," Bianca mumbled, another sigh escaping my lips.
"I know," Pietro said, his foot still tapping lightly against the stone floor.
Bianca glanced over at the boy and said, "But it's not fair. They lied to us, told us that we were going to fight. We're just objects to them, we were never going to fight."
"Strucker doesn't want us out, so we are going to listen," Wanda said, her Sokovian accent thick. The words came out smoothly, but the pale-haired girl knew that Wanda didn't believe her own words. Pietro might have been the one that had the idea to join HYDRA, but the young brown-haired girl was just as vicious and bloodthirsty. She could tell by the clenching and unclenching of her magical hands.
"Strucker is a narcissist," Bianca mumbled, pushing herself from the wall, "He might be fooling everyone now, but I know him. He is giving up, seeing the Avengers here, he thinks its the end for this base. He is going to be gone before anyone on their superhero team can get their hands on him."
"So, Bee, what are you suggesting?" Pietro smirked, his accent thick like his twins.
The fourteen-year-old girl suggested her shoulders lazily, "I think you can guess."
At that moment, the room suddenly fall quiet, and for a moment Bianca thought that the shield around the base had been destroyed, but then she saw Strucker standing in the middle of the room, ready to give a big speech that was all bullshit.
"We will not yield!" Strucker said, his voice strong and brave. Bianca rolled her pale eyes at his fake confidence. "The Americans sent their circus freaks to test us. We will send them back in bags. No surrender!"
"No surrender!"
Strucker turned back to Dr. List, falling back into another deep conversation, and the three newly-powered teens knew that it was time to unleash their own plans. Pietro and Wanda glanced at each other, sharing a message through their eyes. Wanda released her brother's hand, and nodded her head. "Don't worry, we'll be back soon," Pietro whispered, making his sister lightly smile.
Bianca released Wanda's hand as well, and jumped into Pietro's arms. The eighteen-year-old boy held the young girl, her weight light in his arms. Suddenly, Pietro started running, and the feeling made Bianca's stomach turn. The run was unnaturally fast, and Pietro's power of super speed came into effect. At the speed of light, Pietro speeded his way through the base. Bianca, trying to stop the dizziness, closed her eyes as the landspaces went around her in a blur.
Eventually, the air became fresher and it moved smoothly through the young girl's lungs. She suddenly jumped, the sound of a loud explosion starling her. Bianca slowly opened her eyes to see her new surroundings, and the breathtaking sight of the snow-covered forest. A smirk came across her face, this was her type of battlefield.
Grabbing her wrist, Pietro pulled her behind a tree, keeping them both from sight. Another explosion went off, and this time Bianca did not flinch, the sound already becoming normal and unshocking. She looked up at Pietro, who was looked around the corner of the tree into the battlefield. Slowly, a grin came onto his face before he said, "The Black Widow is on the left, take her out, and I will take out Clint. Once we are finishe--"
"We'll go back for Wanda," Bianca mumbled, finishing his thought.
Suddenly, Pietro disappeared, using his superspeed to run towards the fight. Bianca glanced to the right, and her eyes immediately fell on the only-female in the superhero gang. The short, lean, red-haired girl was using her skills in hand-to-hand combat to take out a couple of soilders. Adrenaline started to pump through Bianca again, and a devilish grin came onto her pale face. Slowly, the fourteen-year-old girl started into her first battle, and with each step, she felt more powerful.
Once she was close enough to the famous Black Widow, she felt her powers escape from her fingers. An orb of blue ice appeared in the palm of her hand, and in one swift movement, the orb was fired at the superhero, hitting her right in the back. Bianca's pale blue eyes lightened at the feeling of her powers being unleashed.
The young girl's power had knocked Black Widow off of her feet, but she was quick to rise again. The red-head turned sharply on her heel and was soon facing the young girl. Her eyes widened at the sight of the young child standing on the battlefield, and Bianca could see her face soft, she was underestimating her, and she hated to be underestimated.
Using her newfound telekinesis powers, she pulled large chunks of land out of the ground. The heavy earth was hard to hold, but the angry teen ignored the growing pain that was making its way through her body. Bianca threw the chucks of hard dirt at the superhero quickly. The famous Black Widow turned to jump out of the way, but the heavy earth crashed into her, knocking her again to the ground.
Emotions were flowing through Bianca, anger shining brightly in her pale eyes. Instead of waiting for the superhero to react, the girl used her telekinesis again to lift the woman off of the ground. She could see that her lip was cut up, but the small injury wasn't enough to satisfied the anger that flowed through Bianca's veins.
A light shout escaped Bianca's lips as she threw Black Widow as hard as she could into the closest tree. She could see the limps of the tree skate loudly when the woman's body hit it hard. Bianca watched with a smirk on her face as the superheros eyes closed, and she fell roughly to the snow covered ground.
Snowflakes danced around the fourteen-year-olds feet as she started to walk away from the unconscious superhero. Her eyes were wide with hunger as she looked around for another Avenger to fight. In the research base, Bianca was never allowed to use her powers, unless she was asked to. She felt strong, powerful even, when she was about to use her gift at free will. This is what she was made to do, she was meant for the life of war and fighting. She was meant to use her powers to fight for humanity.
Suddenly, Pietro appeared in front of her and he was wearing the same cocky grin that she was. The adrenaline inside of her spiked when the realization came to her. On their own, the two newly-powered teens were able to take out two Avengers in a matter of minutes, even if they were the weakest two. The realization brought a giddy excitement to the young girls heart, they were now a threat to the Avengers.
Bianca, just like before, jumped into Pietro's arms and they started speeding back to headquarters.
Dizziness didn't come for Bianca as she watched the landscape change around her. She noticed quickly that the base had been overtaken, and a slight feeling of worry washed over her. Wanda was still inside, still wondering the halls of the base, and Bianca didn't want anything to happen to the brown-haired girl. But the worry quickly washed away because Bianca knew that Wanda could handle herself.
The sun suddenly disappeared, and the old stone walls of the research base returned. The air was sticky, and smell heavily of gunfire. A sigh escaped my lips, Iron Man had already made his way through. Pietro's arm tensed, and I knew that he was thinking the same thing. The hall were filled with silence, and Bianca silently missed the thumping of footsteps.
When they came to the main research center, Pietro came to a sudden came to a stop. The quick brake made her stomach turn sideways, and Bianca had to stop myself from throwing up.
"What happened here?" Pietro said, glancing around the room.
Bianca followed his glance, and looked around the silent room. The room was covered with either dead or injured, and sight made Bianca's stomach turn again. Blood was covering the stone floor, and the smell was sharp in my nose. Whimpering filled Bianca's ear, and the sound made her feel very uncomfortable. She turned away, and cupped her hand over mouth.
Suddenly, Bianca felt a hand on her shoulder and she turned to see Pietro standing over her, his face soft with empathy. He picked her up again, and Bianca was thankful when the room of bodies blurred away. Pietro continued to run quickly through the corridors, and with every new second that passed, her body continued to tense. After seeing the sight of those bodies, she needed to see that Wanda was alive.
Pietro came to another stop, and her breath immediately caught in my chest. The two enhanced teens stared around the room, and some anxiousness flowed through her at the sight of the secret door slightly ajar. A light shout escaped Bianca's lips when she turned to see the Iron Man suit standing beside her. Pietro covered her mouth with his thin fingers, and the realization came over her when she released that it was just the famous suit.
"We need to find Wanda," Bianca mumbled, and Pietro nodded.
Pietro started running again, but at a slower pace this time, scared to get caught red-headed by Iron Man. The two teens started into the secret room, and their eyes widened as they looked at the artifacts and weapons that were hung around the widening room.
When Pietro came to a stop again, it was slow and soundless. Wanda was standing in front of us, her eyes glued to the man standing in front of us. She tensed at the sight of Tony Stark standing in from of the specter, and Bianca wanted nothing more than to crush him with her newfound power. Pietro glared at him, sending daggers with his sharp expression. They both take step forward, but Wanda put her hand in front of them, stopping them in their tracks.
Pietro gave her a sharp look, trying to understand his twins lack of aggressive, but the brown-haired girl just turned back towards the billionaire, who was still staring at the god's specter.
"We're just going to let him take it?" Pietro asked, whispering in his sister's ear.
A grin started to grow on Wanda's face as the billionaire started forward, his right arm outstretched. Bianca jumped lightly when a piece of his Iron Man suit flew from the air, and attached itself to Tony's hand. In a swift movement, the famous Tony Stark picked up the specter and looked at it like it could be the final piece in a complicated puzzle.
