Extra Extras: Graveyard for the Unfinished

1. Family same as the main book- set at Easter

"Mama look!" squeals Mallory Pugh as she grabs a neon green plastic egg from the flower bed. She holds it up excitedly. "I found one!" Carli smiles from the porch as she watches her youngest stuff it in her basket and run off in search for more.

On the side of the house Alex, the second oldest of the clan, snatches away her younger sister Julie's basket. "Hey!" shouts Julie spinning around to face her. She reaches out and tries to take it back but Alex holds it above her head in a taunting manner. "Alex that's mine! You have your own!"

Alex smirks proudly and dumps all of the blonde's eggs into hers, "You're right." She tosses the now empty basket on the ground. "I do!"

Julie's eyes fill with tears and her face turns red with anger. She scoops up her basket and runs around the corner screaming, "Mooooooom! Lex is a cheater!"

Hope looks up from her spot behind the grill at the frantic girl, "What happened J bug?" Julie runs up to the railing and holds her sad white basket up to show her mom the issue.

"Alex stole my eggs!" she accuses. "She-She just t-took them and dumped them all in hers!"

Hope sighs and flips the last piece of chicken before closing the grill, "Tell her to come here." Julie nods and runs off to get her. A few minutes later a somber looking Alex approaches the porch railing. Hope shoots her a look, "Give your sister back her Easter eggs and then come sit up here with me for a few minutes." Alex frowns but obeys and climbs up the steps and sits in the chair next to the big grill. Julie smiles happily and runs off to find more of the two hundred eggs the two over excited mothers hid around their property.

"Lexi what are you doing up here baby?" asks Carli confused after returning from inside with a plate. She sets it on the table and looks at her daughter, "Do you not want to hunt anymore? I thought you liked it."

Alex looks at her Mama sadly and pouts, "Mommy says I have to sit with her."  Hope rolls her eyes knowing what she's doing. Al never calls her "mommy" unless she's trying to get something she wants.

"Why would Momm-"

"She took Julie's eggs, Car. She's in timeout for ten minutes and then she can go hunt some more." Carli crosses her arms and raises her eyebrow at the girl.

2. Mal and Chris

Mallory Pugh smiles big as she hears the front door to her and her sister's apartment open. "Chris!" she shouts running to greet the older girl. She leaves her feet and leaps into her open arms.

"Hey, baby!" coos Christen holding her tightly. "I missed you." She plants a gentle kiss on Mallory's forehead making her grin even harder.

"I missed you too!" exclaims Mal bouncing in the hold. "Guess what?! I drove extra careful while you were gone!"

Christen adjusts her grip and nods, "You did, huh?"

"Uh huh! Pinky promise!" Christen carries her to the kitchen and sets her on the counter.

"I'm very proud of you monkey." She takes down the cookie jar and holds it open for her little sister, "I think you deserve a prize for that." Before Christen left for her trip two days ago, Mal had gotten into some trouble for speeding. Chris almost took her keys with her but decided Mallory would probably need to get around somehow with her gone. Mallory snatches the cookies out of her hand and stuffs one in her face before running away. She comes back a few minutes later with her half done art project. "What's that bug?" asks Christen while pouring herself a cup of water. "Is that for school?"

"Yeah!" she says plopping down at the dining table and picking back up her pencil and cup of beads she had left there. "I've been working on it for three weeks," she scrunches up her face in disgust, "and I still have over one thousand beads to place." Chris chuckles while making her a glass of her favorite drink. Apple juice.

"Maybe this will help." she sets it down and then sits across from her little sister. Mallory smiles and drinks a big sip before carefully setting the cup back down. She picks back up the pencil and starts putting the blue beads onto the board covered with wax. Christen's phone dings so she looks down to check it. Her teammate, Danielle, texted her about her boyfriend, Joey. A different teammate named Summer told Danielle that she saw Joey kissing another girl at the movie theater.

3. Fam is at the bay on vacation. There's an OC that is Hope and Carli's "niece" (fun fact: the OC was originally my personal OC that you met in the Extra "The littlest one" but I changed her to a different person because I originally wasn't going to show myself in this universe)

Hope's POV

"Aunt Hope!" squeals my niece running down the pier towards me. "Aunt Hope! Aunt Hope!"

"Kamryn walk!" warns Jerramy as she approaches where he's fishing. She slows down and smiles innocently at him as she walks around him.

"Sorry Uncle Jerr." She gives him a kiss on the cheek before continuing her walk to me. She straddles my lap and sits while playing with my shirt. I smile softly down at her and kiss her salty strawberry blonde hair.

"What's up baby girl?" I ask bouncing her on my knees. She giggles and holds my shoulders so I stop. "Seriously though, what do you need?" I question raising one of my eyebrows. She sheepishly smiles and cuddles into me.

"I'm hungry," she admits playing with the ends of my hair. I sigh softly and look over at Carli who is sitting a little down the row from me. I have a cup of "trash", an adult beverage, sitting on the wooden built-in bench beside me. In order to keep the drinks containing alcohol and ones not containing alcohol separate in the fridge we use a lamented label, that was provided with the house, with the word "trash" clothes pinned to the pitcher containing the alcohol. Carli sighs and tosses her water bottle into the trash can that we put in the middle of the gazebo. She gets up and holds her hand out for the youngest.

"C'mon Kam. I'll go make you something." The kid climbs off and takes her open hand. The two start the long walk down the pier to the large bay house. Christen walks up the steps from the swim deck sopping wet. I smile at her as she grabs her towel and starts to dry off.

"Hey momma can I have some of your drink?" she asks wringing out her hair.

"Yeah baby, you can have a sip." I hold the red cup up towards her. She grabs it and takes a big gulp. Mallory climbs up from the deck and her eyes widen excitedly and she reaches for it. I clear my throat and she looks over at me paled. "You and K's drinks are in that cooler." I point to the one behind her. She pouts but nods her head and gets a Caprisun out dramatically. Julie suddenly comes sprinting down the peer and knocks Jerramy into the railing while Zach chases after her.

"Hey!" shouts Jerramy as he drops his fishing pole to grab his hip in pain. "Walk!" he grumbles while slowly bending down to pick up his pole. I get up and catch Julie by her waist and give her a look.

"You better slow down miss priss." I pop her still wet bikini-clad bottom. She winces but nods her head obediently. I give her a hug and kiss her temple. "You need to go tell papa you're sorry."

4. Little snip between Hope and Mal when Mal was going to UCLA

"Yeah, yeah don't worry mom! My grades are good I promise!" claims a distracted Mallory while fiddling in her purse for her key card. "I just got back to my dorm. Yes, we passed the last inspection." She finally finds the card and pushes her door open dramatically causing her roommate, Jessie (A/N: You're either rolling your eyes, smiling, or completely confused by who that is. Tell me in the comments which one you are!) to roll her eyes and get off her bed to help Mallory with the few bags of groceries she had. "Yes, I'm drinking water. No, Mom, I haven't just been eating pizza."

"Hi Hope!" yells Jessie suddenly causing Mal to jump. She glares at her roommate and lightly pushes her out of the way of her bed.

"Mom, mom, mom!" Mal interrupts annoyed with all the questions. "I have to go, okay? I'll call you later."

"You know," starts Jessie while struggling to fit the fourth box of bagel bites into the mini freezer, "she's going to be livid with you when she sees your final mark in calculus."

"This isn't like high school," dismisses the other forward while kicking her shoes off into the middle of the floor, "she can't log in to a parent portal."

"She's going to kill you, Mallory."
