Summer Surprises (Remadora)

She walked slowly, her feet brushing the sand. A friend's hand lay on her shoulder, guiding the way since her eyesight was taken by a blindfold.

She had come over to the coast to spend a few days with Penny, a fellow Hufflepuff. Knowing the girl from school, she felt the responsibility of visiting her before it might be too late, even though they had never been the closest. She hadn't been the only one to take off a few days to visit family and friends.

Penny had been very excited but refused to tell her what the occasion was. Instead, the blonde had given her the cloth and now was leading her down the smooth, sandy beach.

She heard giggles from behind and felt a shadow fall over her. From afar she heard the waves of the ocean and a few birds singing from above.

"Here we are," her friend giggled, and the knot of the blindfold was released.

Tonks saw herself standing in front of a little community, all of them watching her every movement.

The ground between the seating rows was decorated with flowers, just like the benches on the sides. Remus stood about ten meters away from her, dressed in a classic black suit with matching tie, looking the most handsome she'd ever seen him.

It was when she saw the altar and the priest next to him, that she really understood what was going on. Her heart stumbled upon a few beats, then pumped faster than it did even in her duels from past years. Her eyes widened and she clenched her chest, she could have jumped in genuine delight.

Remus' facial traits relaxed a bit and a smile formed on his lips.

Penny whispered a spell and Tonks' simple dress turned into a modest but magnificent wedding gown. The embroideries were enchanted and a little dog, a stag and a wolf moved playfully at the edging of the cloth. Charlie Weasley, sitting close, gulped once and smiled encouragingly at his friend. Her mother came and offered her arm.

"Do you want to?" she asked and directed her a step towards the rose arch under which Remus stood.

She nodded, unable to say anything and took Andromeda's hand.

"Everyone please stand for the bride," the priest announced as everyone stood up in unison. The two women strode to the altar, accompanied by the music of a self-playing violin and the light radiating from the few hovering candles. A tear glittered on her father's cheek but his amount of emotion was nothing against hers. She felt a burning fire of love deep down inside of her. A fire that would never extinguish, not until her death.

"You may now sit," the priest said as the bride stood next to her groom, her hair glittering in a stronger pink than usual. "Dearly beloved, we gather here today..." The priest began his speech. Ten minutes, a few laughs, and a lot of tears later, the man reached the part everyone was waiting for.

"I, Remus Lupin, take you, Nymphadora Tonks, to be my wife to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish; from this day forward until death do us part." Tears formed in Tonks' eyes, looking at the man she had fought for so hard, speaking a marriage vow to spend the rest of his life with her.

"I, Nymphadora Tonks," she frowned when she said her unloved first name, causing her mother in the first row to chuckle, "take you, Remus Lupin, to be my husband to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish; from this day forward until death do us part."

Despite the glow of the sinking sun, a shudder went down her spine when she said those words. Those words that would change her life forever.

There was a long moment of silence until the two young people took out their wands, whispering the Patronus-charm.

Two wolves appeared, one stronger and taller but both obviously drawn to the other.

The lights were dimmed and everyone watched the Patronuses rubbing their noses lovingly and then walking down the aisle together, so close you couldn't tell their fur apart anymore.

And with this, the marriage was sealed.

"Ladies and gentlemen, with great pleasure I introduce to you, Mr. Lupin and Mrs. Tonks, a married couple."

All the guests rose their wands and let little shooting stars fall upon the loving two.

"You may now kiss the bride."

The groom whispered 'I love you' in his wife's ear. No one heard it except Tonks, but that didn't matter. Those three simple words made both of their hearts pump faster as they leaned in close towards each other.

Their lips touched as they melted into a passionate kiss. One that promised a life together, full of happiness and joy, a future child, and their inexhaustible love.
