Third person POV (btw this is about a week after last chapter)

John was sitting on his phone in the cafe. There were no customers right now because most kids were in class.

"Yo John?" James called walking in from the back room.

"Yeah?" John responded.

"Are you and Peggy dating? Because I heard that you weren't but you always seemed like a couple to me. If you're not you totally should be."

John sighed. "I don't know James. I feel like everyone has just been waiting for me to ask her out and I just don't know how. I don't want to just walk up to her and go 'hey I like you, if that wasn't obvious by the many times I've kissed you. Date me?'" James laughed. "I want it to be special"

James sighed. He wanted to help John, but he had never done this. He had no clue as to how to help him.

"Plus, I think the fans will kill the author if I don't do this in the next few chapters"

"What?"

"Nothing"

(There was literally no purpose for this top section other than throwing shade to John)

"Alex are you sure?" John asked.

"Positive" Alex smirked.

What's the common factor in every coupley thing that's happened in this book? Their friends helping. It was the only way any of them could pull anything off.

"Ok I'll text Maria. Herc and Laf are getting it ready, you get dressed" Alex said.

"Ok. Thanks again Alex" John said walking into his room.

"I'm just glad you're finally doing this" Alex teased.

"Oh shut up"

—With Peggy—

"Pegs I need you to put on a dress" Maria slowly said, knowing this wasn't going to be an easy thing.

"Why?" Peggy asked, peaking up from her homework.

"Reasons?" Maria shrugged, not really knowing what else to say.

"Good enough" Peggy sighed. The fact that it was Maria wanting her to put on a dress made her realize that it was probably for a reason.

"Good" Maria smiled. The plan was in action.

Peggy walked out of the bathroom wearing a long sleeve, mustard yellow, knee length dress. "How about this?" Peggy asked. She hadn't worn the dress before.

"Beautiful" Maria smiled. "Can I do your hair and makeup?"

"Sure, but why?" Peggy was beyond curious and confused.

"You'll see" Maria responded.

After a while the girls had decided on a more natural look on makeup and half up, half down for hair. "Mari this is gorgeous, but what's going on"

"Trust me Pegs" Maria put her hand on Peggy. "You'll like it"

"Where are we going?" Eliza asked.

"John said, 'go through the forest, then you'll reach a field of grass. If you keep walking you'll find a cliff. Laf and Herc should be there'" Angelica read from her phone.

A few weeks ago Peggy had discovered if you rum through the forest long enough there's a cliff over the beach. It was her favorite spot to watch sunsets. Beaches and sunsets were two of Peggy's favorite things. She told John about it and the two went there to relax sometimes.

"Mon Ange! Eliza!" Laf called from the cliff. He  didn't want the girls getting lost like they did.

They girls saw Laf and Herc and made their way over to them.

"We need your help untangling these lights" Herc said, holding up a pile of tangled fairy lights.

"Who untangled them when Alex used them?" Eliza asked.

Angelica sighed. "Peggy did. I'll do it"

They had set up a wooden arch that they were wrapping in the lights. They also had vases of sunflowers. One for either side of the arch at the bottom, and another vase with the flowers John was giving to Peggy.

Theo had volunteered to stay behind and do John's hair. Mainly because no one else wanted to do it. She knocked on the door to John and Alexander's dorm.

"It's open!" Alex yelled.

"Theo oh thank god!" John cheered as Theodosia walked in. "Thank you again for doing this, I suck at doing my hair and Alex can't even brush his own hair"

Theo laughed. "It's no problem. Do you want it in the low pony or something else?"

"I was actually thinking a bun... I've never been able to get my own hair into a bun but my mom could."

Theo nodded and pulled his hair into a bun, almost effortlessly.

"Wow" Alex muttered.

"Holy crap" John said looking in the mirror. "Thanks" He grinned like a kid. He suddenly got extremely excited and scared.

"You got this" Theo encouraged, leaving the dorm.

"Ok I'm going to text Maria" Alex said. "Maria said she just sent Peggy off to the spot. So you can head over soon"

John nodded. His hands stared shaking slightly and his stomach jumped. "Are you sure this is a good idea?" He mumbled.

"John. Look at me." John complied. "Peggy is not going to say no. The looks at you with more love than Eliza looks at me. In fact if Eliza looked at me the way Peggy looks at you I wouldn't have given her a promise ring, it would've been an engagement ring. Just go be you"

John smiled. "Thanks Lex. I'm going to head over now."

Peggy's hand flew over her mouth as she got to the cliff. "Oh my god this is beautiful"

"Not as beautiful as you" Came a voice from behind.

Peggy jumped slightly and turned to see John standing there with a bouquet of sunflowers. He walked over to her and handed her them. "Hey Sunflower"

Peggy blushed and grinned. "Hi Jackie"

John's heart was beating out of his chest as his hands started getting sweaty. He took a shaky breath. "Margarita Schuyler-"

Peggy interrupted him. "No..."

John laughed a little more than he should've, his nerves getting the best of him. He calmed himself down and started again. "Peggy, I love being your friend, it's one of my favorite things. The little things about you, when you play with your hands while you talk, and stick your tongue out at everyone, and stand up for your friends. But I think I'm sick of being your friend." Peggy looked at John, insanely confused. John took another breath. "I'm not sure how obvious this was but I love you. So so much. So Peggy Schuyler, will you be my girlfriend?"

Peggy started full on sobbing. Instead of answering him, she tackled him into a hug. John kissed the top of her head. Peggy pulled john into a kiss. "I'll take that as a yes" John whispered.

"Yes"
