So I've been thinking for a while about making Peggy ace in this au. The main reason I originally didn't do it was because I wanted John and Peggy to have biological children. After I thought about it for a while I realized that adopting a kid is totally something they would do. So I really want your guy's opinions on this :)

Also for sake of the story (and my brain being all over the place) none of this goes by real time. Like the dates and stuff idk.... just go with it

Third Person POV

Maria had been struggling lately and it was getting hard for the girls to hide it. They told Eliza because Angelica and Peggy knew. For now they were able to play it off as a stomach flu but soon Maria's stomach would start getting bigger it was going to be obvious. Hercules was getting very suspicious and wanted to ask but it's kind of an awkward topic, especially because he liked her and they hadn't done 'it'.

But today was Alexander and Eliza's anniversary and everyone knew what Alex had planned for Eliza.

"Are you ready?" John asked, fixing Alex's suit for his date.

"I think so" Alex nervously laughed. "But what if she doesn't want to?"

John looked at Alexander with a 'seriously?' look. "Have you seen the way she looks at you? She's totally helpless."

Alex smiled and blushed. "Ok I'll text you when we're done with dinner so you guys can set things up at the hill."

"Got it. Now go see Peggy so she can do your hair"

Meanwhile, Eliza was panicking.

"Eliza calm down! You have plenty of time. Besides we all know Alex will be at least a little late" Theo said.

Eliza sighed. "Ok ok. Let me put my dress on then you can do my makeup. Then Angie can do my hair"

Eliza went to go put on her dress. She hadn't seen it yet because she let Angelica pick it. She saw it and sighed. 'Oh god' Eliza thought.

Eliza walked out of her room into the main room where her older sister and Theo were.

"Oh my god 'Liza!" Theo exclaimed.

"You look amazing!" Angelica squealed.

"Why did I let you pick this?" Eliza muttered, embarrassed. "Isn't too cold for me to be wearing this?"

The dress was knee length, bright blue, and lacy. It was slightly out of Eliza's comfort zone but she had to admit that she did love the dress and think it was beautiful.

"Well if you wear tights it will be less cold" Theodosia pointed out.

"And I have a jacket for you" Angelica said.

(That's kinda Eliza's dress. The jacket it just a black cropped jacket )

"Alright, I'm good" Eliza said, coming back into the main room of her dorm after putting on tights.

—With Alex— (sorry I keep jumping around)

Peggy groaned as the brush got stuck in Alexander's hair again.

"Do you ever brush your hair?!" Peggy screamed.

"Pegs I'm a busy man! You know this!" Alex screamed back, on the verge of tears from Peggy pulling his hair so much.

"Ha! I did it!" Peggy exclaimed after finally brush out Alex's hair and putting it back in his signature low ponytail.

Alex looked in the mirror astonished. He hadn't seen his suit on him yet. He also hadn't seen his hair look so neat in a long time. A little while ago they had convinced Alex to let Maria put some makeup on him. Just some light makeup. He had never loved the way he looked, but this was incredible.

Peggy, John, and Maria high-fived.  "Alright enough taking in our success" John laughed.

"Yeah. Time to go take out my sister!" Peggy cheered.

"Pegs that didn't quite sound right" Maria whispered.

"Whatever" Peggy muttered.

"Ok. I'm going to do this" Alex checked his pocket to make sure the ring was still there. "Wish me luck!" Alex grinned and ran out the door.

Alex got to Eliza's dorm and knocked on the door. He had the key but he wanted me make sure she was ready. Plus it was classier. He looked at the bouquet of flowers in his and smiled. He loved Eliza so much.

Eliza walked out of her dorm smiling. "Hey Lex"

Alexander's cheeks turned red as his smile grew. "Hi Betsy. You look gorgeous"

Eliza blushed. "Thank you. You're not so bad yourself" she joked nudging him.

Alex laughed and handed her the flowers. "Happy anniversary love"

Eliza hugged Alex. "Happy anniversary"

Alex kissed his girlfriend and smirked. "Alright come on, I've got lots planned for tonight"

They linked arms and started walking. "Oh lord. You didn't go overboard did you?"

"Not at all!" Alex smiled, even though they both knew this was a lie. "I would never"

"I don't believe you"

"You shouldn't "

John got a text from Alex saying that they had just left dinner.

"Ok guys, make sure everything is set up" Peggy yelled after reading the text over John's shoulder.

It was a little wooden gazebo at the top of a hill, with a few trees surrounding it. The group had wrapped fairy lights around the gazebo and painted glow in the dark rocks that made a path. You could see a huge lake from the top of the hill. The water glistened as the moon started to rise.

"I think we're good" Angelica said, admiring their work.

"They're coming" Hercules pointed to two figures walking up the hill.

"Alright mes amis. Let's give them space" Lafayette said.

Eliza gasped as she saw the gazebo at the top of the hill. "Oh my goodness Alex this is amazing"

Alexander smiled and touched the ring in his pocket. They got to the top of the hill and watched the moon over the water. Alex took a deep breath.

"Eliza" Eliza turned her attention from the water to Alex. "You're the best thing that has ever happened to me. Everything about you is perfect, from the way your face lights up when you're talking about something you love, to the way you bite your lip when you're angry. You bring out the best in everyone around you, especially me. No matter what I will always love you. I know it would be hard for us to get married with both of us in college, so I thought of the next best thing. Elizabeth Schuyler will you take this ring as a promise that, someday, I will take your hand in marriage?" Alex pulled out a gold ring with a large dark blue gem in the center, and one smaller lighter blue gem on either side of the big one.

Eliza was speechless. A tear fell from her eye as she nodded. "Yes! I love you so much Alex"

This is the most wholesome thing I've written and I love it 🥺

I'm sorry for not updating for a little while but I'm going to get more into the plot now so this might mean more frequent updates (idk tho) But uh thanks for reading and have a good day/night!
