"Bloom?!" Hovernyan quickly catch Bloom,preventing her from coming in contact with the wooden floor.

Bloom did not respond,her eyes though closed were filled with confusion and stress. The shock of the sudden reveal cause her to collapse.

"Probably should have waited till she was mentally prepared for this. Poor soul, I must have scared her,her heart rate is beating like a drum" he brush her hazel hair off her face,gazing upon her sleeping face

Hovernyan gazed at her for a few more moments,deep in thought about her reaction afterwards. He thought she would be freaked out by him,or kick him out for being a floating cat spirit. After a few more moments of thought,he scoop her up in his paws to place her in bed.

"You're pretty light for your age" he commented,laying her on the bed,carefully placing the covers on top of her,like a sheet of snow flurries on a car hood.

Bloom snuggled within the covers,and smile,a crisp pearl like smile. Her heart rate lower,her breathing had calmed as well.

"Oh King Enma,is this child truly a partner for a yo Kai such as me?" Hovernyan asked himself ,recalling his meeting with his King

Flashback:

"Bloom Yumi?" Hovernyan asked

" Yes,though she is very young,she holds the great potential to be a watch holder as well as your partner,Hovernyan " Lord Enma spoke,showing his usual innocent smirk.

"How young,so speaking?" His ear slightly dropped upon hearing those words ,fearing she would be an infant

"Bloom is currently eight years old,though she acts above her age" Lord Enma say upon his throne,his eyes filled w with an emitting yet warm glow

"Eight?! No disrespect,my liege but are sure this girl is right for me?" He couldn't look his King in the eyes, fearing the eyes filled with anger.

"Hovernyan,look at me" he spoke in a reassuring,gentle tone

Hovernyan hesitated,but compelled to his king order. To his surprise,he wore a smile, a genuine smile filled of calmness and serenity.

"Trust her, I know she is the right choice for you. For both of you have the will to protect and put others before yourselves. Both of you may be different in many ways,but in many ways the same" Enma spoke, his voice strong and bold

"She puts others before herself as well,but she is so young. If she were to get hurt,how would I be able to live with the guilt of myself allowing her to get injured" Hovernyan looked down before finishing. "I won't lose another friend like Nathaniel"

" Nathaniel 's list was a very dark day for us,but I am sure that he would want you to continue helping others,as well as inspire another youthful spirit like you done for him" Enma reasoned with Hovernyan,his words eased the catnyan soul,bringing him back some of Hovernyan confident.

"I do miss Nathaniel greatly but I will res over your decision,my king" Hovernyan nodded,a grin back on his face

"She will truly be a great aid to you,though I must warn you she is quite shy and a fainter " the king told,looking a little sad as he spoke,but Hovernyan chose to ignore it

"Nothing I can't handle! I swear to protect her with my very life. No matter what dangers may be in store for me,she will be safe with me" Hover vowed,kneeling before his king

"I know you will,now take this necklace and seek her" he handed him the necklace

"Thank you sir!" Hovernyan quickly took the necklace and then went on search of Bloom

Flashback ends:

"Well Bloom, you are now my partner. And as I swore to my king, I swear the same to you,that no matter the risks of danger, I will keep you safe" Hovernyan petted Bloom head,yawning as he did so.

Bloom smiled warmly,hearing his words,gently soothing her sleep.

Their first meeting,though a strange,it was the start of a beautiful and powerful friendship.
