16. Game time
After Junkgkook's confession, they went back inside to eat something, and Rain realized they were thankfully still alone.
Still no sign of Suga.
It was lunchtime, and V wasn't back either. But that morning, so many things had happened that it felt like a whole long day by itself.
"Wanna play some x-box?" Jungkook asked while chewing his pizza.
"Sure. But I will kick your ass."
Rain smirked while opening a beer and went to sit on the couch.
"I'm good at video games."
"Is there anything you aren't good at?" He scoffed but was intrigued to know the answer. Everyone is bad at something.
"Mmm, now that I think of it, no." She smiled playfully and took one controller, and passed the other one to Jungkook.
They were playing for a while, but the question Jungkook asked previously was still on his mind.
He lost yet another round of Mortal combat and sighed.
"You know, I kinda opened my heart to you and told you and told you things I've never said to anyone."
He bit his lip, and his eyes were still on the flatscreen.
"But you are still closed like an oyster. I want to know as well things about you."
He admitted, wondering if he was doing wrong to ask.
"Then grab a beer for yourself." She grinned mysteriously.
"What? How does that have to do with knowing you?" He asked, widening his eyes from surprise.
"We will play never have I ever." She grinned with satisfaction.
Suddenly Jungkook's face froze cause he remembered J-hope telling everyone the story of how they played it.
There is no way out of it.
"Come on. It will be fun." She smiled and placed a lock of her hair behind her ear, revealing her gauges. "I'll start. And since you asked, I'm also good at this game... So, never have I ever kissed a girl."
She finished her sentence and traditionally took a sip of her beer.
"What?"
Jungkook's whispered, taking an audible gulp.
That was it.
The first sentence and she had already mindfucked him.
He swallowed hard again and tried to avoid a mental image. Too late.
"What, you have to drink if you have done it too." Rain cocked her head without any expressions on her face, only a slight lift on the corners of her mouth.
"Sure." Jungkook avoided to overthink and did as she said, realizing this wouldn't turn out to be a fair game.
It was some kind of torture or ritual that someone had to pass to get to know her.
But the real price you pay as soon as you get to know Rain is that you like her in the wrong way.
"Your turn." She waited impatiently.
"Ummm, never have I ever... Shit, I don't know what to say..." He scratched the back of his head, nervously.
"Oh my god." Rain sat back with an exasperated sigh.
"It's not that hard. Just say something you have done. Just not something too obvious. The goal is to make me drink, too, though."
He took a long pause as he was about to confess something more prominent than killing his parents.
The second thing he had never told anyone.
"Can I say something I haven't done?" He darted his eyes at her and bit his lip.
"It doesn't work this way." She furrowed her eyes in surprise and leaned closer because of her interest. "But screw this anyway. Just say whatever you want." She smiled at him with approval and noded.
"Never have I ever kissed a girl." And he looked down, biting his lip harder.
"You mean, for real?" Rains pupils were dilated in shock.
"My God, what have I done! you are so... pure."
She looked at him with awe like he was a cute adorable little puppy, which contradicted his dark, intense appearance.
Then his shy face turned to an angry one.
"Don't look at me like that. I am not that innocent. It's just that I lived here since I was sixteen, and before that... you know."
He was still looking at her with furrowed from anger brows.
"Well, if I knew that, I would have kissed you to make you sit still this morning."
She laughed amused, trying to hold it in a little bit not to insult him.
But then she noticed that his eyes were getting narrower as he released his lower lip from his teeth, to leave his mouth slightly parted.
"I am just kidding."
She looked at him seriously with a pause to intensify the moment.
"When it happens, it should be with a girl you really like, cause you are going to remember how fast and hard your heart beat, for the rest of your life..."
She managed to say, but then her lips were sealed because Jungkook's were softly yet at the same time aggressively, moving against hers, before she even realized his intentions.
Without a breath, he extended the kiss to move closer to her and bit her lower, fuller lip, holding it while inhaling slowly.
He opened his eyes, without moving back, his forehead touching Rain's, as he whispered.
"You were right. I'm going to remember this for the rest of my life."
And went back to kiss her again gently.
"And I still haven't learned anything about you..." He whispered against her lips and then continued.
"It's better this way" She pulled back a little and smiled enigmatically.
The weird thing was that she was confused.
Not about what Jungkook did, but about how she felt about it. She didn't care until now about perplexing the situation between all of them.
At first, her goal was to make someone help her escape, then eventually changed to getting to Suga for some reason.
Now her plan had already worked. She didn't need to flirt with them anymore to get to Suga.
Now... she actually cared.
The idea of making them fight with each other at first seemed intriguing and fun, but now she didn't want that anymore.
She actually started to fucking care for their feelings and was desperately trying to hide it.
How did this happen?
She wondered to herself for an instant, trying to remember when it was the last time she gave a fuck about something, but the sound of the elevator reaching the floor dragged her back to reality.
"V"
She got up from the couch to move faster towards the blonde man who entered the apartment carrying multiple bags.
She immediately took them from his hands and opened them to check out which of them contained the stuff she requested, and when she found them, grabbed them and run to her room without saying anything, only the sound of her door slamming behind her killed the silence.
"What was that about?" Jungkook asked, a little disappointed with her sudden disappearance.
"Not sure. She asked me to get her some stuff. Some of them were makeup related, and some art supplies. The only weird thing was some needles." V scratched the back of his head. "Maybe she needs to sew something. Why are you smiling like an idiot?" V smiled back to Jungkook, confused.
"No reason" Jungkook faked a shrug and continued grinning without being able to hide it.
"Tell me," V demanded, standing in front of him, with his arms crossed, the smile on his face mimicking Jungkooks. "Come on!" He insisted.
Jungkook felt so excited that he wanted to share but then wondered if it was the right thing to do. He knew that if RM found out, he would be furious.
But apart from the thought of V not keeping this a secret, he realized that also V might have feelings for Rain as well, which would devastate him.
"I want to ask you something," he bit his inner cheek. "Do you like Rain?" He raised his eyebrows in anticipation, praying that he would say no.
"Huh?" V's eyebrows reached the stratosphere.
"You mean in a like-like way?"
Jukgkook nodded in affirmation.
"Well..." V sighed and looked at the ceiling smiling.
" I mean, dude, what's not to like? She is hot as fuck, and probably the smartest person I ever met. But I see her as a younger version of... you know, Nanami... I'm not saying that I would pass if I had the opportunity to do something with her... but I'm not like, in love with her, like I think RM and J-hope are..." He continued as he gazed outside the window.
"They are?" Jungkook's smile disappeared as he heard V's last words. He felt something like a pull in his stomach.
"I think it's obvious..." V pressed his lips in a cynical half-smile.
"But they are so focused on how much they want her... that they don't question themselves what does she want. Or who, for that matter."
"Well said, V."
Suga entered the kitchen-living room area, without them noticing, and was going towards the fridge, raiding it for some orange juice, as Jungkook was hoping that he was there long enough only to hear V's last sentence, and nothing more.
"I thought that you were going to pay some visits today..." Suga was still speaking to V before gulping a whole glass of orange juice and refilling it.
"I did." V grinned like he had achieved something great effortlessly and now just waited for his award. "I just finished fast."
"How's your wound?" Suga was now looking at Jungkook with a concerned look, while his eyes scanned the opened beer cans on the table before going back to him.
"Do you need help to change it?"
He said, but his eyes were wandering to nothing like he had something on his mind that dragged all the attention there.
Jungkook was cornered. He could not avoid telling the truth; if anything, it would raise more suspicion towards him.
"Rain changed it..."
He murmured loud enough to be heard in the kitchen where Suga was still standing. He looked at Suga to see his reaction, but he was still looking to an invisible spot on the table, with a massive smirk on his face, like he already knew.
"Good."
He said, still pursing his lips into a smirk.
"So what's the count now, V?"
He raised his eyebrow while turning at the blonde man, standing confused in front of Jungkook.
"What count?" V was still motionless and confused. Even though he had noticed a difference in Jungkook's general behavior and body language.
Then it hit him.
The changed bandage. The constant idiotic smile. The questions about how he felt for Rain. Jungkook caught the feels.
Another one was dead.
V looked at him in shock with his mouth fully opened.
"You too?" V shouted to Jungkook, who was mentally curling into a ball and physically looking at the floor, to avoid Suga's and V's interrogation.
"I see... I've lost the count." V narrowed his eyes on Jungkook, not trying to hide the judging tone of his voice.
"Let me guess..." Suga half smiled and closed his eyes for a moment while licking his lips.
"You had a long talk about existence which involved some secret sharing, then played a truth game which led to kissing."
Suga pushed his inner cheek with his tongue, then smirked with contempt.
"And all that because you felt weak and she was bored."
"It's not like that," Jungkook shouted and pushed his hands on the couch, ready to get up.
"What is it like, then?"
Suga killed Jungkooks emotions by planting a seed of doubt in his heart.
"Let's find out. Bring her here. We will ask her who she really likes." Suga said and crossed his arms to pair his smirk.
"No!" Jungkook stood up to stop V, who was already going towards Rain's room. But he was already knocking on her door when he reached him.
Weirdly, there was no response.
"She might be sleeping," V noticed. "She said before I leave that she was awake all night." He recalled, and Suga looked at him with curiosity. But before they turned around to leave, her voice was heard through the closed door.
"I'm busy."
Nothing else.
Jungkook sighed, relieved as they walked back to the living room. But when Suga entered the kitchen, he noticed something that he failed to previously.
J-hopes laptop on the kitchen counter.
He was sure that last night he saw it on the couch.
Moreover, J-hope hadn't come back since yesterday because he had stuff to do, and all of them had a rule about others' belongings and privacy. They were off-limits. (for real, not RM way)
So how it moved?
The only person who might have used it was Rain.
V said she didn't sleep and also was alone all morning. But to do what with it?
He silently opened it, afraid that something terrible had happened.
And he was one hundred percent sure what it was about.
"Did you see Rain near this laptop?" He glared at Jungkook.
She was good at drawing attention to other things, though; he'll give her that.
Jungkook suddenly froze. He realized not only that he should have told them about Rain hacking the other gang's network database, but one more small detail...
Rain still had his phone.
"Shit, she has cleared everything she did."
Suga cursed while he was rapidly typing on the small keyboard.
"What did she do?" His eyes were throwing fires towards Jungkook.
"She said that she hacked the other's database to find out about them..."
Jungkook realized that failing to mention this earlier might lead now towards complicated situations. Such as Rain communicating with the others, for instance.
"There is one other thing I just noticed..."
He looked Suga with an I-know-I-messed-up look.
"She has my phone."
Before Jungkook finishing his sentence, Suga was already running to her room.
He didn't knock or talked before rushing his way into it.
But the room was empty.
He looked at the bathroom door, which was also closed, before opening it in the same rushed way.
Rain was there. Sitting on the bathroom sink, with her back facing the mirror.
Her hair up on a high ponytail, wearing only a black bra and black sweatpants, while holding another mirror with her left hand, which allowed her to see her mirrored back.
A tattoo gun that looked recently assembled from household items was on her right hand.
But what froze Suga to his position was not the fact she was half-naked.
It was the tattoo she was doing to herself.
In the exact same place, his and the other six's was.
And the exact same, fiercely bloody seven waves that he recognized too well.
He was unable to react or speak. Or move.
He stared at her for a moment that felt like ages before taking another glimpse at the waves, which were also forming small streams from her own blood that was running towards her back.
Right next to her, on Jungkook's phone, a picture of his tattoo was on the screen.
Rain, didn't stop or looked back at Suga.
"Don't tell."
She continued her painful procedure with absolute focus.
"They will make a big deal out of it." She said with a face that wasn't containing any emotion to it.
But Suga noticed the smallest smile forming at the corners of her lips, the place she had continuously hidden them.
Like it was an unspoken agreement, he turned and left, closing the door behind him.
"Thank god."
Rain exasperate while almost dropping the mirror and the tattoo-gun on the counter, to rub her face with both hands.
She felt relieved he left.
Somehow his presence was getting too much power over her.
But why?
Why did her heart beat so fast the moment she saw him opening the door? Even though she hid it so well... Still... She was afraid that she wouldn't be able to hide it much longer.
After all, she had just finished the tattoo when he got in. She couldn't pretend to be busy by overlining it.
Her feet felt numbed when she stood from the long hours sitting on the counter.
She turned to look at herself in the mirror and reached for some cotton pads to clean the blood. But it was too much, so deciding on a shower seemed like a better choice.
Then she removed her black sweatpants, but the moment she unhooked her bra, the door opened again.
Her back was towards the door, so she looked at the mirror's reflection to see Suga walking towards her.
"Jungkook wants his phone."
He said with his signature tongue-pushing-inner-cheek face, skillfully hiding the fact that he forgot why he went there in the first place.
Game time.
Rain thought, as she left her unhooked bra to fell on the floor, the moment he passed next to her, only to see his reflection biting his inner cheek as he closed the door behind him.
"This just gave me a reason to live for one more year," She said to herself, grinning with satisfaction.
"Game on, Suga."
And she removed her black thong to jump into the shower.
After all, it wasn't about seeing her naked. He already had.
It was a game of who fails to hide his intentions. And she might have an idea of his, even though he was better at hiding them, she might, for the first time, didn't mind to lose.
Cause it's the first thing to find out that she wasn't good at.
Hiding from Suga.
