12. Cigarettes.

"I need some time to think."

Rain answered RM's question, if she had thought about reigning in her mother's place, and slammed her door behind her.

The truth was, she didn't know what she wanted. She admitted to herself that she liked being around them. But she still didn't know with what exactly they were involved. And perhaps didn't want to find out.

She hoped it wasn't something unforgivably wrong like trafficking. That's a definite no. In fact, if she finds out they are involved with something like that, she would immediately run the furthest away possible.

It was late afternoon.

They were all back, from whatever unknown still, kind of business they were doing today and were chilling in the living room; a movie was playing on the flat-screen, but no one was really watching.

V, Jungkook, Jimin, and J-hope played with their phones, RM was discussing with Jin, and Suga seemed like he was actually watching the movie. But in reality, he was listening to what RM and Jin were saying.

Suga hadn't talked to RM about finding Jin trying to kiss Rain, but Jin surprisingly told him himself.

"I know I said you should trust me..." Jin looked at RM, "but, man, ..." he sighed. "I don't know how she does that... It's like she ..."

"Knows what you are thinking and manipulates your emotions?" RM cut him off. "Yeah, that's her specialty." RM gave him a sad smile, knowing exactly what he was talking about.

"Three dead, four left," V grinned without taking his eyes from his phone.

"Yeah, blame her."

They all lowered their phones to look at Suga, who had stopped watching whatever was that movie.

He was rubbing his face with closed eyes. Somehow he seemed furious. And annoyed.

"Do that, if it's gonna make you feel better," he was looking now on Jin and RM. But he was going to start a lecture that was addressed to all of them.

"What do you mean?" RM gave his death stare at him.

He was internally pissed with how Suga could avoid Rain so easily and remain completely unaffected by her charm.

"I mean that you are all stupid. How can you fall for her stunts so easily?"

"Well, have you seen her?" Jimin pressed his lips and raised his eyebrows, implying ironically that she is not someone who can go unnoticed.

"Wow, all these years, never crossed my mind that you are actually gay." J-hope grinned sarcastically.

"Oh my god, can't you see it? She is a player!" Suga pointed at her room and raised his voice.

"She is gonna play with everyone until she gets what she wants. Until someone helps her escape." His eyes were wide open, like explaining to a kid that Santa is not real.

"She could have escaped if she wanted, Suga." RM closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose, clearly annoyed.

They had tested her, after all, to see what she was going to do.

"Open your fucking eyes." Suga starred at RM while the others were listening, surprised.

"She doesn't want to be alone. She wants to have the privilege to go out whenever the fuck she wants. She is playing with everyone until she finds someone she can trust." His voice was raised, but he was talking slowly, still like explaining to children.

The others had lowered their eyes on the floor as his monologue-preaching continued.

"Have you all forgot why is she here?" His eyes narrowed on all of them, letting his instincts take over.

"Have you forgotten what her mother meant to us? That she practically raised us? That she made us what we are right now? This girl is practically like our sister. Her mother saved us from our miserable lives and spent countless hours training us! What do you think Nanami would do if she found out what you all think about her daughter? She would chop off your dicks and throw them out of the window, in the same apathetic way Rei throws her cigarettes!"

He stopped.

"... so yeah, blame her for your disrespect."

And he sank back on the couch and continued watching the movie.

Even though talking to RM like that was indeed disrespectful, cause RM was Nanami's Saiko-komon-which means right hand- no one said anything cause they knew he was right. Shit, they had all even forgot that Rain was older than half of them.

One thing was sure. Rain's plain tricks wouldn't work anymore.

"-Hey guys..." Rain was coming through the kitchen.

Suga suddenly took a terrified face, in the idea that she might have heard him defending her.

He would die if this happened.

They were all a little terrified, thinking she might have heard their conversation.

"I'll go out for a cigarette. Can I talk to you?" She was looking at RM, her face unreadable.

"Of course," he said and stood up. She led the way and opened the balcony door, and RM closed it behind him after he exited as well. It was a little bit windy, and the chill breeze goose-bumped her pale tattooed skin.

"Go on," he said as she was lighting her cigarette.

"I wanna know what I'm into."

She said, and RM furrowed his brows, confused.

She took the hint that he was clueless about what's she is saying and reformed her sentence.

" I want to know what you guys do," she exhaled the smoke and felt like a weight was lifted from her chest.

"I was wondering when you were gonna ask," he smiled, and his dimples appeared under his smooth cheekbones.

He took his phone out of his back pocket to look at the time.

"Wanna find out tonight?" he smiled with a challenge.

Rain was looking at the skyline of Seoul, thinking that she might not want to. But she had to.

Maybe it's not as bad as it looks, she thought and exhaled. After all, her mother used to be behind it.

"Yes. The sooner, the better," she answered firmly and turned to look at him, her full lips hiding a smile in the corners.

Why does she have to be so damn beautiful?

RM was staring at her, then she flickered her long thin fingers to throw away her finished cigarette, and a laugh escaped his mouth, thinking of what Suga said previously.

"What's so funny?" she raised an eyebrow.

"Nothing... I was just thinking of something that Suga said," a guilty smile defined his dimples again.

"What? Tell me." she persisted with curiosity.

"I really can't," he grinned, and his teeth were showing now.

"You know... he has never talked to me."

Rain said, and her eyebrows furrowed.

Well, RM knew why. But he didn't know that it had affected her. Obviously, Rain wasn't used to guys ignoring her.

A weird feeling grew inside him suddenly.

Why was she asking about Suga?

She was a little bit persistent in telling her what he said... And she seemed disappointed with Suga's lack of interest in her.

What is this? Do I feel ...jealous?  he thought, but his mind absence was interrupted.

"Was he like that with my mother too?" Rain wanted to know everything that involved her mother's past... and Suga's,  for that matter.

"That's a long story for another time," he avoided her. " Go get ready," he said, and as she turned to walk back inside, he continued,

"...and Rain... wear something nice. We are going to a nightclub."

He smirked as he opened the door to the living room for her.
