11:18pm

dr. morely--the head physician at the hospital--arrived with less than an hour before closing time after being out most of the afternoon. he became concerned when he called from a public payphone where he was running his errands and there was no answer. something wasn't right. there was always someone in the lobby to answer phone calls, and were she to be busy, there were two security guards who were asked to answer the phone.

as he entered the lobby of the hospital with hesitance, he was horrified the desecrated lifeless bodies of the two security guards and the woman at the reception desk. they had all been murdered brutally and with no amount of remorse. the woman had been stabbed with a pencil through the skull, and the two guards asphyxiated.

immediately, he suspected a patient uprising.

it wasn't something that surprised him, since they happened every once in a while, but even more so since bloody harry had arrived. what surprised him was the level of planning that had been put into it. whoever had led the rebellion was someone bright. dr. morely was able to deduce based on what he was seeing that they were currently on the operating floor, trying to get rid of everyone. they couldn't leave any witnesses to their escape, or they would surely be captured by the authorities and brought back to the hospital.

the doctor raced to the surveillance room to confirm his suspicions. the old hospital had been among the first in the country to get the advanced technology that were security cameras. they were what had vastly decreased the number of patient escape attempts, since they were being seen at all hours. the only places where cameras were not allowed were in the patient rooms.

as he entered the room, he found yet another body of one of the security guards.

they had planned every detail meticulously.

but they didn't count on one of the doctors leaving early that afternoon. it was the one flaw in their plans.

he watched on the security screens with sheer terror reflected in his eyes as his patients behaved like savages, people in those days were seen and treated as less than people. left to rot in a mental hospital by their families who didn't want to take care of them.

most of his staff was already dead. there were nurses who had been drowned in the sink, their uniforms torn to shreds as they had not only been coldy murdered, but also violated. doctors stabbed with operating tools, in ways that reminisced the awful and torturous methods they had used on their patients. crimson red blood splattered everywhere the eye could see, painting the white walls of the operating room in a deep red color with random splotches. the staff who were still alive were barely breathing, clinging to their last hope. it was a frightening sight that left dr. morely with a shiver travelling down his spine.

his hospital for the mentally ill had become a blood bath.

and bloody harry was among them, leading the whole thing with one of the other leaders in the group. a young man who went by h, for the first letter of his last name. there was no sound coming from the security cameras, but he could see the anger and hatred in their faces as they massacred everyone, the leaders giving instructions.

the doctor of the hospital knew that he had to do something--as the last one alive--if he wanted to avenge the lives of his colleagues, and make sure no one escaped the hospital.

he knew just how to do it.
