[Mizuki's POV]

"Zero," I said, hugging him.

He hugged me back. "That was dangerous, Mizuki. You could have gotten hurt."

"Zero, I don't care what you think, I'm not going to turn my back on you. You're my friend, of not best friend. I don't want you to die," I said.

I looked and saw he has a still look in his face. "I don't want you to die either... That's why I have to keep you safe, even if it means never seeing you again."

I shook my head and held his face in my hands.

"Zero, please, don't. You're the reason I'm not so afraid anymore. I can breathe easier when I'm with you. You just... You make everything feel like its brighter and not dark and scary like it always was for me," I admitted.

His lilac eyes met with my hazel ones.

I got lost for a minute before he started to lean in and my breathing hitched softly.

His lips were almost touching mine before he stopped, sighed, and just hugged me tightly.

I felt a pain my heart when he did that, but I hugged him back.

"Please don't ever jump in front of a gun pointed at me again," he said.

I sigh and just hugged him tightly.

I'm so stupid... Why would he...?

[Zero's POV]

I couldn't do it...

I can't risk hurting or loosing her. She means so much to me.

Yet... I never felt this way even around Yuki... Mizuki is different.

I know she felt hurt. I can feel it.

I just hugged her. One day, I will be able to hold and kiss her.
