July 17th
Michael: Arise my delicate flower. Let the beauty of the morning shine upon you.
Grace: And a beautiful morning it shall be with you.
Michael kissed her sweetly and although she was smiling at him, her smile was not being owned by her.. It was more of a mask than a smile, but who could tell? She had just awakened and so had he..
Michael: Do you know what lies ahead this very day?
Grace: With a tongue like yours, I shall say your crowning.
Michael: Not quite yet my love.. Not quite..
Grace: A ball is to be happening?
Michael: What kind of ball?
He smiled.
Grace: You know the answer. Therefore, you must tell.
Michael: We shall be having a wedding celebration on the upcoming day!
Grace: But why?
Michael: Grace.. Do you not want to marry? This is where you become accepted as my wife in a blessing.
Grace: What would happen if they did not accept me?
Michael: Do not say such things. You will be marvelous! So marvelous that they shall welcome you with open arms.
Grace: But I am only a servant..
Michael: Grace, you must stop this. When I become King, we shall be happy together.
Grace smiled once more and turned over onto her side. Unhappy and very tired from the restless night that had occurred. The nightmare that she had before came back. Then another dream with a girl coming to kill her. Grace had no intention on dying anytime soon.
Michael: Grace, arise and be not afraid. For our love is strong and that is all that matters.
Grace nodded as he smiled and kissed her lips ever so gently.
Michael: If you are to be wearing black, then I must also match thee. What color shall we wear, my darling?
Grace: Whatever difference does it make if we shall still wear the same color?
Prince Michael knelt before Grace and held her hands in his.
Michael: Grace.. I want you to be happy no matter what happens and if the color matters not to you, then it matters not to me either. I love you Grace.. Please, could you spare me just one lucious smile to brighten the morning?
Grace tried to smile, but he knew it was not hers. He kissed her until smile began to smile.
Michael: There it is.. My sunshine, my stars and my moon. The eclipse to my heart. That beautiful smile. I love your smile Grace.
He smiled. Grace lightly touched his face and then held out her hand.
Grace: You shall assist me this morning in rising. For a bearing woman cannot rise on her own.
Michael: And a beautiful woman she is.
He said, helping Grace to her feet. He had her so close that their noses almost touched. Grace looked away from his eyes and rushed off to find a dress for the day, while leaving Prince Michael puzzled as to why she would leave him.
Meanwhile, Janet was laying in bed pondering the things that had occurred yesterday between her and the Prince. The way his eyes stared at her, she could tell that there was something more to him. She could tell that his words were genuine and that his love for her had grown. But yet, in spite of all these great things, she could not be rid of her love for the Prince of Scandinavia. Even though she knew that Prince Haikiem was a better choice and appreciated her more, she just couldn't tear her love away from the past.
Lucy: Good morning Princess Damita.
She said as she set the tray before Janet.
Janet: Morning Lucy..
Lucy: So.. How did it go?
Janet: Prince Haikiem is one of a kind.. A gentleman.. He said the Great Mother Hindi showed him his wife and that I am she.
Lucy: That is beautiful, is it not?
Janet: Tis so sweet.. But I cannot rip my heart away from the eyes of the future Scandinavian King..
She replied with much dismay.
Janet: But if he does not love me, then I shall have the honor of trying to love Haikiem.
Lucy: Well.. He is rather charming..
Janet: Of whom do you speak?
Lucy: Prince Haikiem. I an sure that in due time, you shall forget your Scandinavian theif and fall in deeply with the Prince.
Janet: Maybe.. Maybe so..
Lucy: Princess Damita, you have been told of his presence being expected tonight?
Janet: I would expect nothing more than for father to send out invitations to all the Prince's whom I've wooed tonight.
Lucy: Then it is settled. All is well and you shall arise from your setting. This morning, we must prepare for the new day.. and the most wonderful night.
Janet: For, whatever do you mean?
Lucy: Tomorrow night, you shall have an exquisite time with the Prince at the ball and the perfect scenery to match each and every moment.
Janet nodded.
Janet: I thank you.. Mind you run a few buckets of water for my morning rub?
Lucy: Yes Princess.
She bowed and went to prepare Janet's bath. Janet sat up and began to eat while pondering everything that was happening.
Janet: What is it about this Prince whom catches my eye? Could it be more than beauty that he hath fallen for? Perhaps not.. He knows not of my true self, therefore, it is impossible to think that he would love me for me.
She thought as she sulked away her worries in the heat of the water. This was all that roamed through her mind.. Haikiem was the subject that would never leave her. While this roamed through her mind, others were thinking of love and giving.. Giving up their powers for love.
Jermaine: Alice, please, you must understand!
Alice: But what is there to understand? Which is greater? Love or the powerless man at his throne?
Jermaine: You will not speak of my father in that manner! Now, you must understand that we cannot leave until dark..
Alice: But why? Why must we wait until the chilling of the night comes about?
Jermaine: Because, Alice.. If we are not present at the ball, father will become more suspicious than before of our love.
Alice eyed him.
Alice: Whatever do you mean as to suspicious?
Price LaJune sighed as he shook his head.
Jermaine: Father knows not of us.. or of our unborn child..
Alice's eyes had gotten big.
Alice: You never told him?
Jermaine: No, my love..
Alice: Why? Why would you stash me away as a secret such as he? Why Jermaine?
Jermaine: Because Alice! I am afraid!
Alice: Afraid of what? You have nothing to fear!
Jermaine: I am afraid of losing you!
Alice paused again. She couldn't believe her ears.
Alice: What?
Jermaine: Father is the King.. He is mighty and I am afraid that I will never see you again..
Alice: I would never leave you..
Jermaine: No.. Tis not any of the sort.
Alice: Then what is it, Jermaine?
Jermaine: At the mere sound of the news, Father would become angry and behead you.. possibly with Grace too..
She began to cry silently.
Alice: Am I of such disgrace that I shall die? Why does he hate me so? I have done nothing to him! And what about the law?
Jermaine: My Father is the law, Alice! He has been breaking the laws to fit his life for years! Fornication is not lawful! Punishment is death of stones, Alice! Death of stones!
Jermaine fell to his knees before her.
Jermaine: Alice, if the peasants find out who we are and who you are, you shall be stoned and I shall be taken back the palace under guard! I do not want that kind of life! I shall die without you.. My love for you flows deeper than any cut, any disease and any body of water.. I cannot live knowing that you are dead.. If ye die, then I too, shall die with thee.
Alice: I love you Jermaine.. But I cannot hide our love any longer..
Jermaine's head fell to the ground in a crown of despair.
Alice: If shall die while with thee, then thy death is worth the payment. For, I love you, ever so dearly.
Jermaine: I love you too.. Tonight, we shall finally have our freedom and peace..
Alice: And our love..
Jermaine: Yes Alice.. Our love.
The kissed and smiled and one another as they prayed not to get caught..
