Jay slowly made his way towards the entrance. Nobody had visited him in... God knows how long. For all he knew, the other ninja could have become vampire hunters in their spare time, training to kill him. The lightning ninja gulped and turned the corner.

Standing in the pouring rain was a small silhouette, soaked and shivering in the cold. Upon further inspection, Jay found the figure to be none other than Nya.

"Jay?" She called in a voice barely above a whisper. She let out a small gasp when Jay approached her, but then cleared her throat.

'Great.' Jay thought. 'She's scared of me'

"Yes, Nya, it's me." Jay grumbled, turning away. "What do you want?"

"I came to check on you. Home's been awful. Life's been awful. It isn't the same without you." Nya started to cry. "Why can't you just come home?"

Jay teared up a bit. He couldn't stand seeing Nya like this. Broken. Confused. Terrified.

He felt the same way, and he couldn't bear to see it rub off on her.

"Nya..." Jay started. "Come in. I want to speak with you."

The vampire led Nya into his lonely abode, the bats, instead of flittering about, resting in their perches. Jay sat on the ground, patting the empty space next to him. As Nya sat next to Jay, he pulled off a layer of his old gi and wrapped it around her.

"Nya, how could yo-" Jay stopped himself. "Why did you break up with me?"

Nya sat in silence for a moment, then spoke. "I was afraid. Not afraid of you, but afraid for you. Afraid you'd become too attached to me and fall victim..." Her voice trailed off.

"To what?"

Silence.

"Nya!" Jay snapped, "Fall victim to what?!"

"To temptation. I was afraid you'd lose control to the Ignacian cannibal possessing you, and let him drink my blood. I was afraid something terrible would happen to you!"

Jay let her cool down, but mostly himself. He already snapped at her, and he didn't want to do something worse. Not after he had controlled himself for so long.

After a few minutes, Jay spoke.

"What's an Ignacian cannibal? Isn't it just a vampire possessing me?"

Nya shook her head no. "An Ignacian cannibal is much more dangerous than a vampire. The cannibals can possess vessels like a ghost, slowly turning their minds. The cannibals are native to Ignacia, the town Kai and I were born in and they only drink the blood of pure Ignacians and animals. That's why Kai's at risk being around you."

"You are too, Nya."

"Kai's more important, and don't tell me I'm more. I put everything before myself." Nya sighed and continued.

"Our father told us on his deathbed, long after the battle between our mother and Oblivion, that our mother was a guardian, protecting Ignacians from the cannibals. Only she had the power to kill the cannibals. She had killed all of them that one night, all except for one- Oblivion. Alas, Oblivion had caught her off guard and killed her. She was the last of the guardians."

"But I thought your dad killed Bli- Oblivion in the end..." Jay started.

"His physical form, yes, but my dad wasn't a guardian. Oblivion's spirit haunted our house, and somehow followed us at the bounty, and managed to possess you. My dad set him free, unfortunately, but thankfully he couldn't drink our blood without a vessel."

"Why couldn't he possess you, Kai, or your dad?"

"Ignacians can't be used as vessels. It's like a double negative, sort of."

"And now I put you and Kai in danger because I got possessed. Nya, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to be weak, I swear!"

"No, Jay, please!" Nya pleaded. "It's not your fault. It's mine. I should have stayed home. If I did, Oblivion's spirit would still be trapped back with me. I led him to you because I was selfish and I wanted to prove myself. It's all my fault!" She took a shaky breath, her eyes brimming with fresh tears. "I'm not even necessary to the team. I only made things worse. I'm such an idiot."

Jay was stunned. His heart was aching, even if it didn't send off beats anymore. Instead of trying to convince her that he was the one at fault, he wrapped his arms around her. She was sobbing and babbling about all of her faults, until one particular thing she listed shocked him.

"And now I got myself PREGNANT!"
