Chapter 22
Jay glided through the air and admired the shimmering effect the sunset left on the waters. He assumed it was dusk by the chilly weather and darkening skies. He noticed that his vision was getting dimmer, and he had to rely on echolocation more...
Just like a bat.
The blue ninja felt the tears brimming in his eyes, his throat becoming tight. Why did this happen to him? Why? He needed to know why he was stripped from his perfect life. His family...
His true love. His true potential.
Jay wasn't upset at his teammates. They only did what they did in order to protect themselves. Jay was upset at Oblivion. He was upset at him for turning him into a monster, a threat to his friends. As if they needed any more threats, what with Pythor and the Serpentine army plotting god knows what right under their noses.
He hated himself. He hated everything that his life was turning out to be.
Jay found a secluded cave, big enough for him. Gliding into his new home, he shrieked as millions of bats fluttered past him, ruffling up the fur on his body. Growling, he licked his fur back in its place, irritated at the little creatures.
Oh wait. He was a bat too now, wasn't he?
Jay admired his new form that he acquired before he took off to this cave. He was a sort of an amber humanoid bat, a tad taller than usual, with detached giant wings on his back, and curly fur covering his entire body. His fingers were now thick, powerful claws, as well as his feet, sharper than any sword.
As for his ninja garb, a loose, sleeveless gi hung on his frame, similar to his ZX uniform. The same silver armor shielded his right arm, and his pants were the same as his uniform, with bandages wrapping around his feet, leaving his claws exposed, the same going for his hands as well.
He looked pretty badass.
Standing in a corner of the cave, he hung from the ceiling and prepared for a well-deserved slumber.
