Gaiden: SNYPD Lieutenant Edmundo Kaiser: Prince of the Vampires
Edmundo struggled to stand up, his father denying him the opportunity with a quick kick to the face.
"How pathetic. We had an opportunity for another world for resources and conquest, and your little co-existence?" Edumondo tried not to scream as his father slammed his leg on his already mangled hand. "What a joke. You ended up resorting to turning someone when you could've easily feasted on a peasant. Face it Ed, you can't change who you are. We're the rulers of all species. We don't submit to anyone."
Before he could express an immense disdain towards his father, he heard the devilish laugh of a girl who appeared slightly older than him, her amber blonde hair remaining bright in the dining quarters of their castle resided. She lifted him up by his neck. Ed reared his head to see their family servants clean up the blood for what he counted was roughly thirteen earth days since the two of them continued their onslaught of pain and torment.
"Always the coward, little brother. Humans were much more fragile than I could've ever predicted. I have to work so hard just not to break my new pet."
"Lives aren't tools we mistreat as puppets Canory! How did you even sneak back here back then? I thought the portals couldn't be open by normal means?"
"You're right", tossing him into their large dining table. "And I always get what I want. The other families aren't gonna like how many of their workers and servants fled because of you." Annoyed watching both of them stand together built his anger up, but he still rose.
"And instead of doing nothing to help our people, you two wanted to resort to a war that would risk killing many of us off for the sake of your own gluttony? What have you done in the last decades while our animals plummet?"
"You insolent brat! You're just as spineless and pathetic as your mother. My reign demands complete authority. I'll strip away your chance at the throne if you continue to disobey any further than you already have!"
"As the humans would say, I don't give a shit, father."
"About those humans who cared about you so much, my spy informed me many of them don't like you as much either."
"Daddy, even adolescent girls wouldn't find him appealing. You're a disgrace to vampires everywhere."
"I'd take a few disgruntled tabloids and bullet wounds then watch another suffer under you."
Both Canory and Callus took their father-daughter love to easily squish his face into the table debris together.
"You seem to care about these humans much more than your own family. You're just as disappointing as your mother. I know," chiming underlying eager. How about we plan a proper invasion, and conquer the human race, eliminating every single human in the town you chose to reside. Wouldn't that be a more suitable punishment?"
Ed tried to get up, slightly able to push himself off his father's heel, enraged.
"You wouldn't dare!"
Canory lifted him once again, so Callus could use him once again for another session of bloodstain over their regal carpets.
"And just for the measure, why don't I find your first mark, and crush them into a tasteful drink."
Saffice?
"And if you behave well enough, maybe you could taste what remains."
Edmundo's mind suddenly went blank, only thinking of the people he met over the past eight years, many of his fellow officers from the SNYPD, the media interviews that tried to lower the light to make it more comfortable, and the last conversation he had with Saffice. The next thing he witnessed was their bodies splattered all throughout Manhattan, seeing Saffice and Gwain's bodies in a similar position to Kling's lifebody. The fear and anger coursed throughout his entire body until he felt nothing. The wounds he gathered, the swallowing hunger in his stomach, all felt as lifeless as the endless night that peered above their world.
Then a surge of energy rushed through his veins, glowing around him and pushing both Callus and Canory alike. The blood on his hands changed into blood red scars. His wings, claws, mass, and hair grew slightly larger. And his attire transformed into a more regal waistcoat painted with his blood appearing as if they were scars on his obsidian colored outfit.
"Refrain from laying a finger on any of those I swore to protect!"
He saw Canory's smug persona faded. "Father, what's going on with him?"
His father appeared more surprised "The reason I married your mother. My boy, you've evolved. I'm-I can't believe it. A vampire who has surpassed the normal limitations of our kind's expectation. Only certain bloodlines were believed to have that potential. My son, you've become something I and our ancestors have dreamt of your years. This calls for a cele-"
He pushed his fist into his father's chest, thrusting him straight into the castle walls. Canory and the majority of their servants stopped what they were doing, as Callus dropped to the floor in a pool of blood from his waist. One came up to briefly clean up Callus, only to run away and rejoin the servants as Edmundo delivered a quick uppercut, smashing his father up into the ceiling, allowing their ceiling to have a well lit dining hall without the need for candles.
"I have nothing to prove to you." He walked towards a frightened Canory.
"How do you get back from Earth? Open a portal there. Now."
"Y-y-y-yo-you'd need to convince the other nobles to assist you. I'd told them you failed and that we were going to start an invasion immediately once we caught wind your bet with father failed."
He sighed, disappointed. That would be a daunting task. He considered doing it on his own, but quickly realized his enhanced power would not be enough. For now, he thought of what happened before he was dragged back to Ambrogio. Saffice's sacrifice, Gwain taking advantage and rendering Rojas unconscious, and the hunter's reason for killing him.
"Canory, where's the child"?
"What? No, you think just because you have a bit of power, you think you can boss me around? S-Stay away from my pet".
He just walked forward to her, watching her slowly back away from him
"Canory, now".
"Mmmmmy room."
He left. When he turned, he walked away with a little girl, who looked around the age of a preteen, covered in scars around her face, all dressed up in nothing but a simple white outfit. Ed felt remorse, occasionally looking back to when he helped a girl similarly cross the road back when he first started as a cop on Earth. His wings opened, grabbing the food from the remains of the table and passed it to the girl. Viewing her hesitant, he gave her a smile. The girl quickly nobbed down on it as if it were a buffet while he looked on at Canory with disgust. His other wing grabbed hold of the girl, becoming a makeshift towel for her to sit on.
"The throne is yours to take sister."
"Excuse me? You're giving up? No, I'"
"You slaughtered the parents of two innocents, and stole one for our own? You're not my sister. Just a criminal. And I won't compete with someone so low for a hollow prize."
He walked out, choosing not to acknowledge their father anymore.
"Where are you going", Canory yelled.
"I'll change this world my way. Father, sister. If either of you get in my way, or harm anyone else, I'll make sure both of you reek in the blood of your own malice."
A while later, he and the girl ended up walking for hours, until they reached a castle much smaller.
"Are you taking me somewhere bad?."
"No. Your brother's waiting back for you back on Earth."
"Travis? Big bro's okay? How is he?"
Ed was happy to see her excited
"He seemed....very passionate. He made it clear he misses you. I'll get you back."
"Are you going to lead the other scary people to hurt him?"
He shook his head. "I don't want anyone else to suffer. That includes you. It'll take a while for us to get there. But I won't stop until you make it there."
Before he could ring on the castle doors, he felt a pain in his teeth. He opened up his mouth to touch them, only for his head to suddenly hurt. Another voice started ringing in his mind, but he slowly heard the voice.
"Is that...Saffice, is that you?"
