June 29 | DAY 5
08 : 12 am

The morning was quiet. All that was audible was their breathing. They were all awake, but looked dead, felt dead. They felt hopeless. It was like they knew, that they would face the same fate as Namjoon and Jimin and that there was no escape from it.

Seokjin stared out of the window blankly, while the others quietly indulged in their own thoughts, nobody talked much.

"If I hadn't asked Jimin to go instead of me... He would still be alive right?", Taehyung asked out of the blue. Jungkook sighed.

"It is not your fault.", Jungkook emphasised on his words and moved closer to Taehyung.

"Let's not dwell on the past. We will get out of here... Alive."

The room went quiet again and it felt uncomfortable.

The eerie silence was broken again when Jungkook suddenly opened a cupboard in the room, with a very disturbing creak.

There was nothing interesting in it and Jungkook started taking out the contents, mainly files and bundles of paper, and started looking through it, just to distract himself from his own thoughts. Taehying joined him, even though he had no idea what Jungkook was doing.

Seokjin, Yoongi and Hoseok just observed them, trying to take their mind off the recent events.

"Oh!", Jungkook suddenly exclaimed, receiving the attention of everybody in the room.

"What? What is it?", Hoseok inquired. He looked curious.

"Look at this... It's a walkie-talkie.", Jungkook's face suddenly lit up.

"There's another one here.", said Taehyung.

He handed the HT* over to Hoseok.

"Do you think we can communicate with anybody through this?", Taehyung asked Hoseok, his face in a pout.

"I don't know... I don't know how this works.", Hoseok inspected the HT for any instructions or some kind of writings on it.

He found a button on it and pressed it.

"Oh! I think I switched it on."

Hoseok jumped a little when it suddenly produced a beeping sound.

"I don't think we can do anything with it. Just leave it.", Yoongi grumbled. Nothing seemed to cheer Yoongi's hopes up. But Jungkook didn't want to keep it back, he felt like it could be useful somewhere. So he put the one in his hand in his pocket.

June 29 | DAY 5
12 : 21 pm

They hadn't eaten much for breakfast and now they were feeling hungry. Yoongi stood up when he heard Jungkook's stomach grumbling, to go get something to eat.

Jungkook suddenly caught hold of Yoongi's wrist.

"I'll go today. You can stay here.", Jungkook stated and Yoongi blinked.

"Okay."

Jungkook quickly stood up and Taehyung stood up with him.

"I'm coming too.", Taehyung looked at Jungkook and Jungkook nodded.

They went out of the doors leaving Seokjin, Hoseok and Yoongi in the room. Seokjin kept on staring out whenever he heard something, probably the wind knocking something down. The creatures were nowhere to be seen and he was confused.

"Hoseok...", he turned over to Hoseok. "Do you think these things get out in the day too?"

Hoseok's face showed dilemma. Yoongi scratched his head.

"I mean think about it...", Seokjin stood up, "Jimin said that they were attacked by the zombies from the bus."

"Yeah... So?", Yoongi tilted his head.

"It should've been day time when they reached the bus. They were attacked during the day.", Seokjin opined.

"I guess that's true... But why didn't they come out when we did the 'test run'.", Hoseok questioned, quoting the words 'test run'.

"I don't know...", Seokjin sat back down.

"That's what bothering me too."

June 29 | DAY 5
01 : 46 pm

"Why aren't they coming back? God, I'm so hungry.", Yoongi whined, rubbing his belly.

"They should've been back by now unless they're cooking up something.", Hoseok said, with a faint smile on his face. This was the first time Hoseok was smiling after what happened to Namjoon and Jimin, and Seokjin noticed it.

And something about his smile was very comforting.

Seokjin went to the door and opened it. He reached his head out and looked both ways. Jungkook and Taehyung were nowhere to be seen.

"Do you think we should go check?", Yoongi sighed, but Seokjin nodded his head no.

"We'll wait for a few more minutes.", Seokjin said, sitting down slowly.

Suddenly, he started to feel uneasy and nauseous. He sighed heavily as he rested his back against the wall. He knew that Jungkook and Taehyung were still inside the building and that they were not in danger, but something in his mind whispered otherwise.

June 29| DAY 5
03 : 03 pm

Seokjin glanced at his watch. They hadn't returned.

"Okay... Let's go check.", Seokjin stood up.

"Where the fuck did they run off to? Did they go on a date or something?", Yoongi commented, squeezing out a giggle or two from both Hoseok and Seokjin, the air in the room felt calm again.

That's when they heard a grainy sound, like the distorted noises you hear from an old radio.

"What's that?", Hoseok turned back quickly.

The sound was coming from the room, but they didn't know from where.

The sound stopped for a while and started again. It felt like someone was speaking, but it was not clear.

"That!", Seokjin pointed at the HT that Jungkook had found from the cupboard. The sound was coming from the HT that Hoseok had forgotten to turn off.

Hoseok picked it up and listened to it, but it was just a series of grainy sounds, they couldn't make out anything the other end said.

"Try turning the knobs... Maybe it's somebody from the outside.", Yoongi seemed excited, opposite to his reaction before.

"They could help us."

Hoseok did what Yoongi asked him to do and they felt like the sound was getting clearer.

"Hello...", somebody on the other end spoke. "Hello, can somebody hear me?".

Something about his voice seemed familiar and they felt like the person was whispering.

"Yes, we can hear you... Who is this?", Yoongi responded to the message, he really hoped that it was help.

"Guys, this is Jungkook.", the other end said.

"Jungkook! Whaa... How did you...? Where are you?!", Yoongi ended up screaming at the HT.

"Guys, we're trapped.", Jungkook whispered. "We...", but he was suddenly interrupted was Seokjin.

"Why are you whispering?", Seokjin asked.

"Just shut up and listen!", Jungkook seemed angry.

There was a ruckus on the other side and they heard another voice.

"Hey, this is Taehyung... We're trapped."

"Trapped? Why...", Seokjin was confused.

Jungkook's voice suddenly came in, interrupting Taehyung.

"They're inside...", Jungkook whispered.

"What are you saying? Who?!"

"Zombies!"
