Whisperecho -> @TheAJWolffey02

Whitefeather's POV

The sun was setting as Ghostglow and Nightshade sat beside me silently, grieving for our loss of Ivysplash. Usually I would be out doing something useful, like hunting or keeping those rabbit-chasers away, but this was personal. When my mother, Whisperecho, had died, I didn't even attend her burial. I was hunting for the Clan. But my sister and I were close, closer than I was to Ghostglow and Whisperecho.

I sighed. Did Nightshade even try to save my sister? Why is that filth sitting next to my father and I? She should be exiled. I wish I had been there. I would've saved my bubbly sister.

I looked up to the purple sky. A few white stars shone in the black, endless sky. I noticed the biggest one was twinkling in plain view. I bet that's her. I will never forget you, Ivysplash. I will never forgive Nightshade, either. I vowed.

Crescentmoon and Blackwind sat on both sides of Twistedsoul's body, his carcass reeking of rosemary. Since everyone else's eyes were closed, I noticed no one else flinched when Twistedsoul's bad leg twitched. My ear twitched. My eyes are playing tricks on me. I guessed.

I could hear Skullsong coughing and gagging from where she laid with her brother, Wolftail. They both were eating a minnow. I could tell her cough was wet and deep in her lungs.

I watched Twistedsoul's body twitch and kick until I had had enough. No one seemed to notice and it bugged me. Standing up, I traveled away from my father and Nightshade until I stood by Twistedsoul's body. His eyes were open, glowing white eyes looking up until they laid on me. I gulped as Crescentmoon and Blackwind looked up at me with shame.

"You're supposed to be sitting vigil," They growled in sync. I didn't answer, only glanced down at the cat. I backed away as the brown tom started to stand. His legs were shaky and he seemed to have a hard time moving. Twistedsoul groaned and took a few paw steps toward me.

He groaned again, snapping his jaws at me. I gulped. My gut churned nervously. "Twistedsoul? Twistedsoul, you're- you're alive!" Crescentmoon breathed. The tom reeked of death as he gained speed, dragging his permanently injured leg behind him. Twistedsoul let out a loud and long moan.

"I-I don't think that's Twistedsoul," I snarled, unsheathing my claws. "No! Leave him be, he must be confused!" Crescentmoon insisted, running in front of him. Twistedsoul's white eyes laid on the black she-cat. He opened his jaws as if he were to be going to bite her, just as Lightfeather shoved her out of the way.

The two she-cats tumbled to a stop a tail-length away from Twistedsoul. The tom stumbled forward and turned to go after the black she-cat. "What in SoulClan's name is wrong with you?" Crescentmoon screamed, shoving the medicine cat off of her. "You should be happy he's alive!"

"Don't you think it's a bit..." Skullsong paused, lashing her tail, "-ironic and unlikely for a cat to come back to life after being dead for so long?" Skullsong mumbled, lashing her tail in annoyance with her eyes narrowed. She doesn't care about anyone in StreamClan other than herself, for SoulClan's sake!

"You don't get it! You'll all die from his bite!" Lightfeather pleaded, "Push him in the river before he attacks us! Push him in the river!"

"Maybe we should just push you in the river?" Rowantail suggested calmly and slowly with a "too good for you" look on her face.

Seastar had had enough of the commotion toward her medicine den. "Enough! All of you!" Seastar yelled. Twistedsoul changed directions, heading for the blue leader. Seastar's eyes widened and she backed away. Blackwind rushed up to her brother and nudged him from behind. Twistedsoul let out a moan and whipped around, snapping his jaws at her.

She scurried backwards in fear. "Twistedsoul! Stop that!" Blackwind hissed. "What's Twistedsoul doing, mommy?" Thornkit mewed with Whisperkit poking her head out behind him. "Go back to sleep you two!" Blackwind ordered.

The two kits didn't listen, just crouched down and examined their Clanmates with wide eyes.

Troutriver padded up to the tom and tapped him slightly. He seemed grouchy. "What's your deal, Twistedsoul?" Troutriver growled. Twistedsoul whipped around and clamped his jaws shut onto his neck. "Ahhh!! Help me! Someone get this freak off of me!" Troutriver rasped.

Gasps of shock rippled through the camp. The kits squealed in fear. Blackwind and Crescentmoon were horrified. Wolftail leaped up and smashed into the insane warrior. "What's wrong with you?!" He yowled, pinning him down. A chunk of Troutriver's throat was missing, pink flesh and dark blood showing. I gagged in disgust.

Twistedsoul only growled, snapping his bloody jaws at Wolftail's legs. "Don't let him bite you!" Lightfeather screeched. Wolftail hopped off of him. I glanced over at Troutriver. He was gurgling and gasping for air, blood pooling around his head as he had collapsed.

Smokepaw came from the medicine den with cobwebs. Lightfeather took the cobwebs from her apprentice and began to soak up the blood that leaked quickly from the elders neck.

Nightshade and Wolftail surrounded the tom with sorrow in their eyes. Skullsong just sat back with her chin on her paws. Wolftail, Nightshade, and Skullsong's father let out his last breath. I shook my head.

Wolftail's eyes changed drastically from pain to rage. "I'll kill you!" He yowled, diving for Twistedsoul who was making his way to the carcass. Wolftail slashed and clawed at Twistedsoul's face but to his horror, it didn't affect him in the way he expected.

Lightfeather pushed the tom off and grabbed Twistedsoul by his scruff and dragged him into the river. Bubbles escaped to the surface but Twistedsoul didn't make an effort to swim or even get his head above the water. The current pushed the bobbing body away until it fell down into the cave where Ivysplash had fallen.

"No time for vigil! Say your goodbyes to Troutriver," Lightfeather meowed in a rush. "We're burying him now."

"Is Twistedsoul a bad cat?" Whisperkit whimpered. They were devestated. Blackwind changed the subject. "Hurry into your nests, little ones." She whispered.

Seastar nodded in agreement as everyone who liked the elder - including Skullsong - gathered to say their final farewells.
