CHAPTER TWO
The police showed up at Blair residence. They started interviewing both Michael and Laura, as most parents are, they would be very upset and just want their daughter safe and home. "So you dropped her off at school and that was the last time you saw her?"
The two officers were African American, one a woman and the other a man. They seemed invested in Alice being missing, most of the time anyone that goes missing usually needs to be gone for over twenty fours hours then it'll be reported. "Yes, Officer..." Michael trailed.
"Bowen, I'm Detective Ryan Bowen. And this is Officer Michelle Collins." The Detective answered.
"Oh, I apologize for getting it incorrect." Michael apologized.
"It's alright sir, common misconception." Bowen answered.
Detective Bowen and Officer Collins asked Michael & Laura more questions. When was the last time they spoke to Alice, you know all of the normal generalized questions.
"We would like to speak to your eldest if that's okay." Officer Collins said.
Both parents nodded meanwhile upstairs in his bedroom Scott was pacing wondering where Alice was and freaking out that he didn't know if she was okay. What if she's hurt?
What if she was coming home and was taken then? He couldn't take it. He wanted his sibling to be happy, home, and safe. He stopped pacing when he heard someone descending up the stairs, he saw his father.
"The officers wanna talk to you bud, don't worry it'll be okay." Micheal reassured his son.
They walked downstairs together to the family room, and Scott sat on the couch and when he did he got a new feeling, one he never felt before. He felt like he was sinking deeper into the couch with every movement he made.
He didn't want to have this awful pit in his stomach, he didn't want to feel like throwing up, he didn't want to feel all clammy and sweaty, this is the first time something this serious ever happened to him and his family.
"Hi Scott, I'm Detective Bowen, this is Officer Collins. We'd like to ask you some questions if that's okay with you."
Scott nodded, agreeing because he didn't want to be seen as a bad person. Keeping secrets from the very people who are trying to help. "When was the last time you saw your sister?" Officer Collins asked.
"This morning, we ate breakfast together and um- we went to school and that's it." Scott said.
"Did anything seem strange about Alice? Anything at all?" Detective Bowen asked.
Scott shook his head, "No she was her normal happy self, nothing was off."
"S- she couldn't have up and disappeared right? I mean, Alice is thirteen, she's not depressed or suicidal. She's a good kid, she's my sister."
"Will she be okay? A- are you gonna help her a- and bring her home?" Scott, when he's anxious, fires off multiple questions and doesn't stop until he realizes that he's doing it.
"Scott, sweetheart, it's okay." Laura sits next to her son pulling him into a warm embrace.
"It's alright." She whispered.
Both Detective Bowen and Officer Collins saw how distraught the boy was and decided that no more questions needed to be asked and answered.
"I'm sorry about your daughter, we will do everything we can to bring her home safely to you." Detective Bowen said.
Michael nodded as Laura was tending to their son and he decided to walk them out. "Thank you detective."
"You're welcome Mr. Blair, I hope your son is alright and we'll give you updates as the investigation continues."
Michael nodded and both Bowen and Collins left their doorstep walking towards their car.

Bowen and Collins got into their car and started driving away. Ryan felt sorry. But on the other hand he was suspicious, how could a teenage girl like Alice, who lived in a suburban neighborhood, mysteriously disappear into thin air.
"So, what do you think?" Ryan asked.
"I think the parents are telling the truth, they have no idea where their daughter is. And Scott, that boy is worried, usually siblings wouldn't be that freaked out. Sure, they'd be upset, but they wouldn't be as nervous as Scott was." Michelle explained.
Ryan sighed, "Yeah, I think they're just desperate to bring Alice home, I mean if my little boy went missing I'd do anything to bring him back."
"They don't seem like bad people, but then again we can't assume everyone is innocent."
Ryan nodded, he agreed with Officer Collins not everyone in a missing persons case is innocent someone has to be involved otherwise the person wouldn't be missing in the first place.
"Let's get back to the station and go over things, check out security cameras around the swim center. And see different locations she could be in that area." Ryan suggested.

The next morning Scott could barely keep his eyes open, he couldn't fall asleep for the life of him. He really wanted Alice back, he couldn't understand why his sister was the one to go missing.
She's probably alone and scared, he hates it when she's scared. Alice gets a certain look in her eyes when she's scared and it makes him feel bad because Alice shouldn't be alone or scared, just happy.
That's all an older brother could want for their younger sibling. But alas Scott is completely out of the loop, his parents are worried and that energy is just making him more anxious.
He and Tyler decided to walk to school today, they only did that when one of them had something on their mind. So there they were, walking side by side in the most intense silence you could ever imagine.
Tyler sighed quietly to himself, then he spoke, "I'm sorry Scott."
Scott turned to him, "What are you sorry for?" He asked.
"About your sister, I can tell that Alice being missing and is messing with you. And if you need anything, anything at all, text me. I'll come to your rescue." Tyler said, putting his hand on Scott's shoulder.
Scott gave his friend a little smile, "Thanks Ty, and the same goes for you too."
They both smiled and continued their journey to school, but at the back of his mind Scott was still afraid and anxious about Alice. He hoped Detective Bowen and Officer Collins would find her, and soon.
