10 - The First Life Was Nothing But Boring

----

Techno locked his eyes on a tall, thin man. Earlier, he had seen the man steal something, so this was his excuse to kill. Of course, if he was caught, he wouldn't say that out loud, he'd have a better coverup story by then. Unless they saw him kill directly. Then that'd be bad.

The man made the mistake of wandering into an empty street, no possible witnesses to be seen. Techno crept up behind him silently, bending his knees slightly, and aimed his knife. Without any hesitation, he pushed the long-ish blade through his chest, no doubt stabbing his heart. The man had no time to scream for help or react, the only sound being blood bubbling in his throat and dripping from his mouth.

Techno grinned, growling under his breath beside the man's ear, holding him still on the blade as the last of his life gurgled in his mouth.

"Goodbye, It was nice never knowing you."

The man turned his wide, terrified, agonized gaze to Techno, a silent question that Techno's answered many times over. He could read people's minds from just a look, a skill he'd picked up on the way, after so many times.

"Dave." Techno stated, "Dave Blade." He felt blood run down his own chin.

And with that, he took his knife out of the man's chest, holding his body and gently laying him down. He glared at the man one last time, not wanting to meet his eyes again. His eyes were the same color as Floof's, Techno thought. Turning around, he left.

Techno took off one of the gloves, using his free hand to find his way back. Taking off the coat, he scanned the empty street for a nearby dumpster or trash can. When he found one, he flung the coat into it, aswell as the gloves, and the boots, having worn smaller shoes underneath. He hit the knife on the ground multiple times, making the blade bent and dull. Burying it low beneath the surface of trash, he walked into the darkness, using the map to navigate through alleyways.

"Hey, kid." A voice said behind him, causing him to halt and turn. He was in the middle of the alley-maze, so there was no doubt that this man wanted to kill him or sell him drugs. Or worse, but Techno wasn't going to let that happen, not without a fight.

"What, asshole?" He turned his head, studying the man. He looked sketchy already, if the alleyway wasn't enough. He stood tall, similar to the previous man, but they didn't look alike other than that. He wore a hoodie with multiple burns on it, possibly from cigarettes. His jeans were torn on multiple areas, and his hair was black, but was messily brushed.

"What's a thing like you doing back here? The alleys aren't safe, you know." He said in a sweet tone that made Techno nearly throw up just from the sound.

Yep, that's a pedophile.

"I'm perfectly capable of taking care of myself, that's why." Techno turned back, walking casually. Well, he was, until he felt the disgusting hand on his shoulder, having a weak but firm grip.

"You sure, darling? I wouldnt mind giving you a ride home. Besides, itll rain soon, you dont want to get soaked, hmm?" The man had a smug smile on his face, as if he knew he had Techno trapped in his trick. Well, maybe this worked on others, but Techno wasnt as blind.

"No, thanks, buddy." Techno turned quickly, kicking out instantly, smiling in satisfaction when he kicked the man in the crotch.

"Ow, god damnit, you little-," The man made another attempt to grab Techno, but failed quickly. He was stopped from touching Techno by the fist that collided with his nose, and then by the other connecting to his jaw.

"Fuck off, you're boring me." Techno rolled his eyes when the man fell backwards, groaning in pain. Then, he walked out as if nothing happened. Oh, look, Wilbur's house was right here, he just had to exit the alley. Perfect.

When he walked inside, he was met with Tubbo watching the tv, Tommy raiding the kitchen for the third time, and Phil and Wilbur talking about something and showing each other videos.

"Welcome back, Techno- You alright?" Wilbur seemed to notice how there was an odd scent on the man.

"Yep, I'm alright. Just met a lovely fella outside, nothing I haven't dealt with before." Techno nodded, giving a smile. It was satisfying, the cracking sound that he heard when he hit the man in the jaw.

"Ah," Wilbur said after a moment.

"I'm going to go to sleep earlier, my internal clock is catching up with your times slowly but surely." Techno yawned, as if to prove his point. Wilbur nodded, going back to whatever Phil was showing him.

Techno went into his shared room, changing into sleepwear quickly. He curled into his bed, covering himself with as many blankets as possible with the limited amount. It wasn't long until he fell asleep, silent and as still as a rock.

He opened his eyes in a void, nothing around him. He wasn't even sure what he was standing on, it was just pitch black.

"Hello?" He asked to the darkness. The scene suddenly changed, and he was in a cozy looking house. A family was sitting at the table, the dim lights and small amount of cheap food showing they weren't the wealthiest. Same goes with the poor condition of the small house.

The family was made up of a mother, a father, and two pre-teen sisters, he assumed. They shared food with one another, especially the sisters, insisting to the other that they needed to eat, while the other said they weren't hungry, and that the other needed it more. Poor kids, Techno thought, starving themselves to make sure their family is fed. They shouldn't need to worry about these things at such a young age.

Then a man stood next to him, invisible to the family just as he was.

Techno's eyes were wide, and he blinked and rubbed them to make sure he was seeing this right.

A teen no older than 17 was about the same height as Techno, but his eyes were dull and he was grayscale against the warm light.

"Hi." He said, "Do you remember me?"

When Techno simply stared in disbelief, he continued.

"I guess you do. Yes, It's me, I'm the first person you ripped the life from. And this-," He gestured to the family at the table.

"Is my family."

"I-I- I'm-," Techno was at a loss for words. There was no excuse for murder, but he was younger. This was a boy he killed when he wasn't after bad people. This was an innocent boy who should've had a life infront of him. "I'm so sorry, I-I've changed my ways for the most part a-and I didn't- I wasn'- I-I'm sorry."

"It's okay." The boy's voice was so... dull. "I forgive you."

Techno tried to speak, but his throat suddenly felt as if he was drinking lava, as if there were shredders eating at the inside of his throat.

And that's when he saw it.

Flowers, growing from his very lungs. He couldn't breathe, his lungs screamed for air, but the flowers just kept growing, sprouting vibrant colors. Purple. The boy's favorite color. Techno felt his jaws being forcefully parted to the point of breaking, his skin tearing, mouth open in a silent scream, muffled by the tons of flowers. He was crying blood, he was dying- he- he can't- the world is going dark.

And then he woke up.
