3: Switch

Jungkook lives not so far from the city of Seoul, close to entering Gangnam actually, at a penthouse in one of those expensive apartments that only big names can afford. The building itself is glamorous, filling anyone's eyes with gold stars to the illuminating hotel lights that's also connected to a casino.

Maybe Andres was not expecting this from his pure and humbled brother, perhaps he was waiting to enter some suburban house outside the city - cute dog, friendly neighbors, all that shit that one would expect from a typical perfect family.

This, however, left him impressed.

Andres owned a few hotels in Spain, probably some in France and Portugal, anywhere that his empire touches really. It's good for business and demonstration of power.

Maybe he should think about buying one here after all.

Going up the elevator to their suite was a bit awkward though, tense even. No one spoke a word to each other, not like there's much to be said really. It was obvious Jungkook's little husband wanted to break the ice and perhaps better introduce himself, but whenever he gained the courage to do so, it was quickly knocked down when his gaze met Andres's pointed stare.

It's amusing really. Andres used to scare the shit out of people for far more, but never by a subtle stare without even trying to intimidate.

But it got to a point where it began to be annoying.

By the third time this occurred, Andres lost his patience, "Yes, I look like your husband, want to know my dick size too?"

Jungkook snaps his eyes to his brother, taken back to his sudden exclaim to notice Andres's focus on Taehyung - who looked equally as shocked as he was.

"Hey, watch your mouth," Jungkook immediately goes snap at him, "He's obviously shocked-"

"I-I'm Kim Taehyung," The blond finally introduces himself, hands twitching against each other, "I didn't mean to stare, sorry. This is just all new to me."

Andres lazily stares at him as he spoke, watching how he licked his lips to the evident nerves he's desperately shoving down just for the sake that it's his dear husband's brother. Yet when Taehyung just barely glanced at him after he spoke, he quickly looks away again and interlaces one of his hands with Jungkook's - clearly not use to people with the aura as though they killed their whole lives.

Probably has.

With one last glance to Jungkook's tense stare to watch it, Andres kept his lips sealed just as the elevator arrived at the floor of the penthouse. They had to walk down an extravagant hallway that reached two double doors, easily opening it after Jungkook pressed on the passcode. From the inside, Andres didn't expect anything less - Classy wide open space, leather couch with a large television while behind was a wide window wall with the view of the city. Kitchen attached with a staircase twirling up to the upper level.

Private, perfect, and extravagant.

And Andres thought he loved the lavish life.

"Tae, mind making some tea for our guest," Jungkook softly asks his husband, glancing to his brother, "Me and my brother are going to be at my office."

Taehyung's gaze immediately glowed, perhaps to the nickname, smiling softly and pecks his husband's lips. Andres sends a look to Namjoon to stay put, to which the other man immediately caught with a nod, while Jungkook lead the way up the stairs with Andres following casually behind him.

There's nothing much to see, or from what Jungkook let his brother see since he immediately took a corner and lead him to a door before entering inside. Now inside just looks like a regular office: Basic walls filled with books of literature of all languages, two leather chairs in front of the raven black desk with an equally ink coated chair that demands the authority of the other two before it. A laptop and a PC are on the desk, followed by a desk lamp with a light bulb and a clear glass ball circulating it. It's one of those annoying white lights, bugs the eyes and shit than the yellow vintage light. There's nothing else to see from there, besides the fuzzy black rug on this marble white floor - clear enough for Andres to see his reflections.

What a difference in style they have indeed.

Jungkook waves a hand to one of the chairs while walking to his own chair behind the broad desk, "Have a seat."

Clearly Jungkook is still in shock to seeing his brother after so long of being apart. Sure, he has thought about how he would look like now but then thought that it's probably not so different from his own appearance. He was never prepared to actually see him again. So, to now have him sitting there in front of him with this powerful yet eased aura oozing out of him - it just really made it seem like nothing truly changed.

That time didn't change.

Andres has not changed.

For once, in a very long time, Jungkook was finally at ease.

"Nice place you got here," Andres noted, looking around the office with a finger twirling on the piercing on his lip before settling his sharp gaze on his brother, "Expected more suburban dad of the year type of thing."

"Then your expectations sure are questionable," Jungkook snickers, leaning back on his chair, "Where have you been?"

Andres's gaze shifted in amusement, loosening up his tie, "I thought mother stayed in contact with you-"

"But she never told me anything about you, even when I tried to ask her. Been searching for you for a while," Jungkook didn't bother hiding that information. Maybe he feels a bit vulnerable; this emotional tie with his brother again doing shit to his feelings. Either way, he continues to act natural, "Did mother tell you about the funeral?"

"No, I got a personal invitation," Andres remarks, expression deadpanned, "Didn't come by choice. Let's say duty calls when trouble purges your life."

Jungkook sits up, "Trouble? Do you need some help-"

"Oh please," Andres laughs to himself, sitting up too with the clear amusement, "As if I want help from you. The same bastard who would watch as father would beat the shit out of me for messing with his favorite boy."

The snarl between the smile was definitely meant to be noticed, and Jungkook wasn't offended by it. The memories of that household also purged his mind like vicious venom, especially the ones filled with the screams of his twin when his father would take pleasure in expressing his rage out to his small body.

But that doesn't mean Jungkook didn't suffer too.

He bubbled a chuckle under his breath, shaking his head to himself, "Yeah, the same bastard who spent fifteen years at the receiving end of his abuse," Andres's smile slowly drops, just as Jungkook's gaze shifted towards him, "You really think I was his favorite? Try me getting punished for sticking up for you, every single time he would lay a hand on you. Remember his punishments, right? The boiling hot showers, ice cubed baths for hours, let's not forget his favorite baseball bat. That one was a bitch, wasn't it?"

Jungkook was never off the hook, his abuse was just hidden from plain sight, meanwhile Andres's was visible.

Jungkook couldn't stop giggling to the memories, even though he didn't really find it funny. Maybe the irony is funny, or perhaps his father created a monster for the time being?

Who knows.

For a long time Jungkook always knew there was something wrong with him. Never talked about it to a therapist because - hell, the fuck is that going to do for him while he has to be clean for the agency? Besides, it's not like he's fucking crazy. He just.... Doesn't do feelings. Or he just lost interest in a lot of things really.

For a long time, he has forgotten what it was to feel alive.

With his brother here, this was the closest to feeling alive as he got to.

Missed the rebellious shit he was after all, even if he doesn't know about him now.

Andres's face grew stone stiff, forcing an unreadable expression to storm through his dark eyes, but then he smiles again as he leans back on the chair, laughing to himself, "Crazy bastard. Perhaps I underestimated you brother."

"Oh trust me, indeed you have."

Time managed to pass through as the two finished a glass of bourbon together and talking about some random shit they went through while growing up. It's clear to see Andres's little grudge was slowly chipping away the more Jungkook spoke about how shitty his father was, in relations to Jungkook's little bootcamp training for preparation to his current position he has now in the agency. Andres briefly went over how their mother is currently in a mental institution in attempt of suicide, again, and Jungkook didn't seem so surprised.

He did see his mother burn herself with cigarettes as a kid after all.

Now came the question about the ring wrapped around Jungkook's finger.

"Since when have you been into dick?"

Jungkook rolls his eyes with a warning stare, "Watch it. Taehyung is my husband."

"I was not saying anything disrespectful," Andres drawls, leaning on the desk with arms crossed, "I was just asking in my charming self how did this started?"

The brief memory of how Jungkook met Taehyung didn't even feel real, yet it never stopped to make a smile form his lips, "Some case popped up in the agency, tracing a connection somehow to Taehyung's publishing company. I went to investigate and had a talk with him. He was very blunt and unusually cunning with his words, especially when it came to defending his title and his company. No doubt he hated me when we first met," Jungkook chuckles to the memory, staring at the bourbon glass with his glossy eyes, "Turns out it was another company who wanted to make Taehyung's company get their hands dirty, went to his office with a wine bottle as an apology and -"

Andres sudden laughed, shaking his head, "Don't tell me you fucked him as your apology?"

"Okay listen - we got too drunk and - stop laughing!"

Even if Jungkook wanted to be serious, he couldn't help but chuckle along with his brother - who has his head dropped back as he laughs before looking back to him, "Basic move in the book. Then what? Realized you were each other's soulmate and fell in love-"

"Okay that's enough," Jungkook snickers, taking a gulp of the alcohol before shifting the attention, "What about you huh? Anyone special?"

Andres sighs carelessly, sitting up with a cocky grin, "Does it look like I'm the type of guy to settle down?"

"Wouldn't be bad idea."

"As if," Andres waves off, smile now more strained, "What I do have is an annoying pest on my ass that feels like a marriage."

Now this drew Jungkook's attention, "Oh? Is that the trouble you're running away from?"

"Making me sound like a coward, watch your words," Andres snorts and gets to his feet, moving to the wall filled with books, "He's a little possessive asshole so to say. Got him a little mad and now he's fucking with everything I do."

Jungkook furrows his eyebrows, watching as Andres runs a hand threw the collect of old fashion novels, "I see. Do you want me to help you?"

Andres's touch stops on the books, jaw clenched, and for a good moment Jungkook really thought he might have pushed it a little too much.

Andres was never the emotional type, and that clearly hasn't changed.

He was always a closed safe, barely sparing a word about his troubles or rage, and anything can trigger him to close up his ease immediately.

But, seem a like he gave Jungkook the benefit of a doubt.

"Do you know what I do for living brother?"

The question sounded like the bitter cold of winter. It was enough to send a chill down Jungkook's spoke, making himself realize that he actually didn't recall hearing from him what Andres has been doing with his life.

So he remains silent, earning a small twitch of a grin from his brother's lips as he looks at him now.

"Ever heard of La Sombra?"

The name just unlocked various of files in Jungkook's head, immediately trying to recall from where he heard that name before - since clearly if Andres is asking him it's because he's sure that Jungkook has heard of the name - and it finally hit him.

"Mafia empire in Spain, new but has been keeping a powerful reputation for the past five years," Jungkook whispers, eyeing him carefully, "You.... You work for them?"

Andres chuckles to this, giving one last stare to the books before going back to the chair he was sitting on, pressing his hand on the back rest with a condescending smirk, "You're looking at the big boss."

Jungkook's body froze completely, processing the information like a loading computer.

La Sombra.

Not really much of an issue for Jungkook in his agency, since their overall focus is the dealings that happens here in Korea rather than the affairs abroad, but for precaution, everyone in the agency must be aware of the big named mafias around the world from various countries. It's practically in their entrance exam to label each on and from what country they're from. There's only a handful of them to memorize, La Sombra being one of them.

No one really knows what they do, they keep their reputation very low, especially since they're still relatively new. Jungkook never worked for that unit in the agency - the ones involved in drug and domestic mafia affairs - so he's not heavily aware of the things that happens abroad, only doing rookie undercover cases.

Oh how the agency would be going ballistics if they knew Jungkook was face to face with the boss of one of those empires, not like they can do anything about it.

There's no warrant for his arrest, at least not in Korea, especially since they don't know his identity or physical appearance.

As if that matters, like hell would Jungkook snitch on his brother.

He would get shift for it too since they're related, they probably would assume he's a double agent.

"Ah.... I knew you were insane, but this? Couldn't have gone for a street gang instead? Something less problematic."

Andres chuckles carelessly, shrugging innocently, "Oh you know me? I was always spontaneous, that's why I was father's favorite when it came to ass beatings," And he purses his lips, peering at Jungkook, his expression now grim, "The name of my pest is Park Jimin, from Yudoghan Pa."

Yudoghan Pa....

No fucking -

Now to this Jungkook sits up, his broad eyes wide, "Yudoghan Pa!?! You have problems with Yudoghan Pa!?"

Andres looked a little nervous due to Jungkook's sudden reaction, eyeing his hysterical eyes, "Yeah? Why - What are you doing?"

Jungkook is on his PC in seconds, accessing the Criminal Data base from Korea through his computer. With quick fingers, he types in the empire, and immediately all the information poured out like vomit on the screen on everything there needs to be known of that empire

Landing to one picture.

"Is this the Jimin you were implying?"

Andres moves around the desk to stand behind Jungkook, seeing a poorly taken picture of that sadistic man getting into a black rover with a guard holding the door. The sight of his smug express twitched a nerve in Andres's body, scoffing to his presence.

"That's the fucker alright, Park Jimin."

Park Jimin.

There's a name now.

Jungkook sits back on the chair with lips parted, shocked. As previously stated, the agency is only ever involved with domestic affairs involving Korea alone, and Yudoghan Pa has been the talk of the agency since he first started. Even his father would sometimes go on missions to spy the possible connections of people associated to that empire from a distance. However, they never got close enough.

That empire knew how to keep their doors sealed shut from outsiders. They never accepted anyone in their empire, so it was always difficult for informants to get their hands inside - no matter how good they were at concealing their identity and playing the part. It was always a mystery as to who the big boss was, but all they knew was that he was manic genius.

He is practically royalty to other empires.

He knows how everything works - from the police, business, politics, everything. He moves slowly and quietly. It's always difficult to latch onto a pattern with him, he's always steps ahead of everyone.

The only reason they ever found out that this empire existed was because of another empire in Taiwan snitching to an informant on a bidding done five years ago, and how they scored a deal with Yudoghan Pa - that's how well they keep themselves low key to the law.

He's so unpredictable, it'd make any masochist jerk themselves off to how marvelous his brain works.

He's ahead of the game.

"Park Jimin," Jungkook whispers, rolling the syllables on his tongue, savoring the name to the last taste, "The agency has been searching for a name of the boss since they found out this empire existed. It was always suspected that it was this guy in this picture to be the boss, since he was always around during important business meetings, but there was doubt because he looked so young."

"That doesn't mean shit. He's far advanced than any fucker I've delt with, I'll give him that," Andres scoffs, glaring at the image, "He's after my ass now after a shipment deal I made with a Yakuza from Japan. Possessive asshole he is. He likes to be the one in charge, or at least, be the one people want."

Jungkook glanced to Andres, "Then why did you accept the shipment deal while knowing of Jimin's.... Behavior?"

Now moving around the desk and sitting down, Andres twirls the bourbon and takes a sip, "Because I felt like it. I won't bend my empire because of someone else's psychotic tendencies. The Yakuza deal granted me a lot more security with shipment in Japan, so I wasn't going to deny that. They have been successful thus far. Unfortunately, Jimin hates their guts."

With eyes narrowed, Jungkook hums as he looks intently at his picture, "I wonder why.... I don't think he'll have such strong negative feelings without a reason."

"Well, we did fuck, perhaps the fucker got emotional with me," Andres mutters glares at the bourbon glass, "Anyways, I don't know what to do about his case.  I've tried bargaining, but that didn't work. He's in rage and wants play time."

Jungkook continues to stare at the picture. Andres has no idea in what valuable position he's in right now. What the entire agency dream of accomplishing, he's doing so without trying - which is being close to Yudoghan Pa, especially having the boss's attention. Even if Jungkook did try to coax his brother to play nice and give him information on him, Andres would never risk getting his hands dirty because his empire is also on the line.

Oh Andres, lucky bastard.

If only......

No.

"So, you with the agency," Andres suddenly trails off, glancing to the computer, "You really have information on everyone and everything?"

Now its Andres's turn.

This caught Jungkook by surprise, eyebrows furrowed in confusion, "Yes.... Why?"

Andres looks doubtful , silent for a long moment as though he's debating his words carefully, before he sits up, "I have a proposal for you."

This should be good.

Jungkook blinks at him, just as Andres leans his elbows on his knees, looking at his brother, "Remember as kids when we would trade places in school to piss the teachers off?"

"Which was pointless because they never knew would know who was who. We were too identical."

"Exactly..... So.... How about we try it again."

Huh?

Jungkook felt like he stopped processing what he just said, barely stuttering out a, "What?"

"Oh don't deny that you were thinking it?" Andres scoffs and stands up, "We could switch places, for a while. You can spy on little Jimin, perhaps gather enough information to catch his ass and throw him in prison for all I fucking care, and have him hop off my dick, and I get to play director of the year."

Andres has officially lost his shit.

Now Jungkook stands up, eyes narrowed, "Did you lose your mind? This isn't like school! I could get killed! You could get into so much shit if the agency were to ever find out it's not me, and it's actually the Boss of La Sombra! And I wouldn't be able to save your ass because I would already be dead!"

Andres rolls his eyes, persisting, "Just listen to me," And he puts the glass of wine on the desk, looking at Jungkook in the eye, "You have been trained far better than any of my men combined. You look like me, Jungkook. Besides, this is an easy ticket for you and your agency to do something they were never able to do, and it's stopping an unstoppable drug lord that has the agency pissing in their pants to catch! You guys were after his ass for years! This is perfect for you! You're the perfect informant because Jimin will think it's me!"

Okay, Jungkook can't deny that the proposal is tempting, and he can't deny that he was thinking of that same idea of a switch.

Jungkook's father has prepared Jungkook as a kid with intense training - combat, speaking, presenting himself, acting certain parts - Jungkook is most certainly and probably even more qualified than Andres himself when it involves anything with crime and being hidden.

For the action, but Andres runs an entire business, Jungkook never ran a business in his life. He doesn't know what the fuck to do. The closest thing he has seen to a business is how Taehyung runs it - which is barely, only when Taehyung has moments where he needs to vent out his frustrations.

Besides, the only field agent tasks Jungkook would have to do is be undercover as a background, not actively do something.

There's so many things that Andres does that Jungkook can't do.

Probably even vice versa.

Jungkook clenches his jaw, arms crossed, "Okay, you're saying a lot about me, but what about you? How would this switch benefit you?"

Andres purses his lips, drumming his fingers on the desk, "Would you believe me if I said I wanted to live a normal life?"

"Cut the bullshit."

"Guess not," Andres stands upright, "There's a rat in my empire feeding information to other empires, especially Yudoghan Pa. They know my every move, that's how Jimin manages to always catch me at the right time. Namjoon believes it's someone from an agency here in Korea, since clearly it wasn't you or my mother who informed me of my father's death with an invitation. This person is here and knows about us, and as you know, you can access everything with a little type."

Hm, interesting.

"But in relation to Yudoghan Pa..... Many of our agents have tried to get close to that empire, but that empire never accepts anyone, so having a rat from our agency is impossible."

"Or so everyone believes that's the case," Andres mutters, his gaze a little dazed, "There is a rat, and I'm going to figure out who it is. In that way I can do a little spring cleaning of your agency. Who knows, maybe I'll find a whole litter of snakes."

Jungkook has never thought of the possibility of having traitors or informants of an empire in the agency, but the idea makes sense. Everyone believes Yudoghan is untouchable, and whoever is in charge of brainwashing everyone into believing that is probably the one doing the bidding.

Also the mystery with who sent Andres the invitation is still lingering the air.

It has to be someone from the agency since it was kept low key.

Someone knows about them, but is playing quietly.

In that case...

"Why can't I just investigate it for you, and we stay in contact? You do what I want, and I do what you want?"

"Where's the fun in that?" Andres suddenly chuckles, "Aren't you a little curious of the dark side?"

"No."

Andres pouts, "Well you see, I still don't trust you Jungkook," He says and circles around the room, "It's not quite fair of you to be doing all the work here and me following like a desperate dog to your orders. I don't know if you'll betray me - "

Jungkook huffs, "You're my brother - "

"Who's a mafia boss, and you're an agent," Andres scoffs back, "Spare me the emotions, we're talking business here. If we switch, whatever happens, we both are getting our hands dirty."

Jungkook grimaces, "And if I say no? This is absolutely stupid."

"Then you won't get information on Jimin because I won't tell you," Andres smiles cynically, "I personally want to look into the rat of my empire, and I don't trust you and your loyalty to sniff them out, at least I have experience on the matter. As for you with Jimin, you already have experience lying low and watching, don't think it'll take long to investigate more information on Jimin for your warrant."

Andres exaggerating proposal is starting to sound convincing by the second, but it's still too risky. The idea of them being caught is a major risk as it is, but guess that's something they were always good at, wasn't it?

Being each other.

Besides... This might be the opportunity for Jungkook to finally meet his mom.

After so many years...

"What about our lives? Taehyung?"

"Should we risk snitches?" Andres taunts, rolling his eyes, "No offense, but your husband looks like a whiny bitch who can't keep his mouth shut. I doubt if you tell him about this, he'll stay quiet."

In other words to what Andres is saying, Taehyung is too good.

Out of a good heart, he'll snitch to the agency the truth, sooner or later. He doesn't do well when it comes to things against the law.

That's why Jungkook has kept his mouth sealed about specific missions he had to do on a daily.

There are some things you must do that bends with the law in order to get the job done, or a mission completed. Jungkook had a handful of those experiences.

Some that would be considered morally wrong, and that's something Taehyung wouldn't survive listening through.

However, Jungkook doesn't do secrets in his marriage either, especially if it involves something that'll affect both of them.

That's the fine line between job secrets.

"I vowed no secrets with him."

"Aw, that's cute," Andres sarcastically pouted, "But this involves dark world business. I'm sure you don't tell him the shit that goes down in the agency, right? Think of it the same way."

Jungkook snaps back, "Well if you're going to act like me, he needs to know it's not his husband he's living with now. It's deceiving him!"

"Not like we'll be doing this forever, just until we get what we want, give it.... three months," Andres estimates, suddenly smirking, "Don't worry, I'll be far too busy with my case than pinning my dick up your husband's ass while acting like I'm you."

Jungkook grabs a fistful of Andres's shirt, glaring into his eyes as he yanks him forward with a murderous stare, "If you dare try to do some grimy shit on him Andres, I will personally snap your head off your body."

Andres laughs to him, patting his cheek, "You and Jimin will get along so well! He adores decapacitating people's heads off as it is," And he forced Jungkook's hands off, "Jimin is a seductive man Jungkook, can't act like a married man around him. He's bratty when he doesn't get what he wants, in a threatening way."

Now this made Jungkook's eye twitch, "Not very convincing for me to agree to this anymore."

"Oh, you'll do it."

"And why do you think so?"

"Because," Andres suddenly tilts his head to the side with a grin, "I know it's the only way you'll ever get to see mother again."

Jungkook heart clenched in his chest to the mention of that woman, gulping slowly, "What makes you think I can't book a flight and visit her myself?"

"Do you know where she is?"

"I can always find her."

"You know that's bullshit because you weren't able to find her before, now would be no different," Andres taunts slowly, "If you don't do this, you won't ever get to see her, only through me."

Jungkook clenches his teeth, "Are you blackmailing me?"

"Maybe.... This is fun," Andres beams, "You won't see mom, you won't get to have information on Jimin, and you won't get to even solve and bring justice to those murder cases for those poor victims families that were traced back ot Yudoghan Pa."

Oh he's good....

He's really good...

Dangerous fucker.

Jungkook glares at him heavily, before muttering, "Do not fuck with my agency Andres."

Andres beams, smiling psychotically, "And don't fuck with my empire, Kookie."
